Wait a minute. You want posts about mounts to stop yet you posted a thread about mounts. In turn it will open the debate back up about mounts. Odd…
And for the record..

If I could sell mine, I would. I don’t like any of the new amber weapon skins, but I’m reluctant to just toss the fossil away since I know the value it has.
Mind you, making them tradeable would seriously devalue the weapon skins, but the RNG nature of acquisition is the same reason why people really hate the standard methods of acquiring precursors. At least with precursors you can buy them (albeit for exorbitant prices).
I’ve spent 4-5 hours every day for the last 3 days mindlessly farming dry top for geodes so I can open chests so I can make what I believe are the coolest and most unique weapon skins anet has released in a long time (they remind me of elder scrolls IV’s mania amber weapons), however after losing count of over 100 chests being opened, I have yet to get a single fossil, while many others have gotten 2-4 fossils in that same time frame.
Honestly its a frustrating way to progress towards a reward, and whereas some people may only need 600-700 goedes to make one weapon based on luck, I might need 1500+ geodes to make the same weapon. In short, its unfair and making me hate the living story event content. If there was another way to obtain the skins without doing the event, everything would be fine, but right now all its doing is alienating unlucky players, making them feel like they’re wasting their time and sidetracking other PvE tpvp and WvW goals just to get skins.
You may say, well these skins are permanent, you can make them any time. But thats only a possibility if T4/5 maps don’t die out as new content is released in the future. In 2 weeks or a month from now, anet could release a crafted amberite backpiece or armor, and unlucky players that couldn’t get a weapon skin will be even more disconnected or alienated based on that. And finally, its a downright slap in the face for so many people who don’t care about ever making the skins to find fossils, while the people giving up so much time that could be spent doing more fun things in the game (such as myself) spend just as much if not more time farming to unlock chests never get a single fossil.
All of this is bad rewards design. Cut the RNG or give us alternative but informed ways of acquiring these skins, such as buying on the TP or a guaranteed fossil after 50 chests or something like that.
Taking a break from GW2 to play various
Nintendo games..

You should get this thread moved to the game bugs section. Apparently your game doesn’t have an option to create your own party and invite like-minded people.
At the earlier levels theres not alot of armor variety to work with. Its not until around 60+ that unique skins will become more available. If you are still leveling its best to just stick with the gear you can buy from the Quest vendors or off the Trading Post. You can also craft gear which is probably going to be hard if thats your first character since you won’t really have the gold or materials to level it.
I’d recommend you just tough it out with regular gear until you hit 80 and start running Dungeons for tokens which you can trade in for weapons/armor. It would be best to start with Citadel of Flame (Path 1+2) which is the most beginner friendly. Once you have enough tokens trade them in for Berserker (Power/Precision/Ferocity) gear which is what you want for PvE.
“Subscription based”, last time I heard, Guild Wars 2 doesn’t have a sub.
If you’re going to come into GW2 with the old MMO mindset, then you’re going to play with the old MMO mindset.
GW2 has the opportunty to branch out of that and try things differently. Take advantage of it.
Actually, how about defiant just be a boon that can be removed.
Boon removal classes like necro will get used at least.
This. So much this. Would give the poor necro a reason to be besides killing the zergs.
It’s the fault of the casual player. They need to reassess their expectations on what they can do in the game.
Often I see on these forums casual players who are jelly of rich people and want everything handed to them like rich players have it, despite not even having anything close to the # of hours put in.
If you only play 1 hour a week, then of course you should not expect to be able to make one ascended silk spool.
If it were that easy for a casual player, then imagine how easy it would be for hardcore players? They could craft everything in an hour.
And so what if the casual player cannot keep up? This is how the market works. If there is someone out there willing to pay more than you do, whether that buyer is a flipper or someone in legit need of the item they are buying, the market is doing it’s job at reaching equilibrium.
If the price is too overpriced, the market will correct itself.
Remember that there are always two sides of the coin. While items are more expensive for buyers, there are items that are more valuable for sellers.
The listing fee is primarily present in order to prevent you from using the Trading Post as a personal bank (i.e. list an item for a ton of money to ensure no one buys it, then cancel the listing when you want to “withdraw” it.
First of all, i dont think what you are describing is P2W. I have no problem with people who buy gems with money to get a goodie once in a while like the Mr Sparkles or some other (even exclusive) convenience items or weapon skins for example.
Those give aways should be account bound though and not tradeable on the tp, so no to legendary tokens.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
Anyway, all of you guys saying that there should not be a feature that allows the request of certain classes.. I ask why?. If it’s your party you should be able to request whatever you want.
For thouse of you (and there are many!) that think that zerker build is the only good dmg build.
You are so freaking wrong!!!
i hit twice as much with my condition ranger then i do with my zerker chars.
Those that are making squads and only accepting zerker builds aren’t very smart ….
The reason people don’t use Condi in groups is due to the poor system ANet set up for conditions. The cap prevents multiple people from really utilizing them. So when you have 3+ people stacking bleeds…
Don’t give a kitten. Would rather have a ranger dealing 9.5k DPS than a rifle warrior with a banner of tactics.
In all seriousness though I don’t know enough about rangers to add much to this discussion. I don’t kick any class on sight if I’m pugging because I never ask for specific ones. If you’re pugging, chances are you’re going to get the opposite of what you ask for on the LFG— especially on EU where 99% of the people who join parties are illiterate.
LFG “P1 must be mentally challenged and AFK with ranged weapons a lot” etc. will typically yield better results than “P1 experienced lupi melee” for example.
Just a quick suggestion as a small event annoyed me earlier. There I was, making a LFM for Sorrows Embrace speedrun, asking for specific classes… the people then join with classes I didn’t ask for and proceed to kick me for wanting other classes played. I believe there should be a party leader system that dictates the group, allowing players to be kicked without asking others and also preventing them from being kicked so stupid stuff like that doesn’t happen. May I also suggest that you implement a mechanic that allows people to look for certain classes within the LFG?… that would help a lot and prevent the wrong classes joining and making trouble.
Seriously, whats the point in requiring something if other people are just going to ignore that and then kick you from your own lfg making you have to look again and set up the whole LFG system once more, it gets on my nerves.
yeah, as much as I don’t really request classes.
People shouldn’t be able to kick you out of your own lfg. I mean, if they’re gonna do that, they should just create their own.
I would love if anet added like a drop down for requirements, so that people couldn’t join unless they meet those requirements.
*lv80
*classes. (so you can add each class you want, to the point of saying idk, 2 guards, 1 war, 1 ranger, 1 ele.. if you already have 2 guards a 3rd can’t join)
*ap,
I don’t think asking for it to scan for armour would work, so leave that out.
Another thing the LFG really needs, is in openworld to have a “Living Story” section, and “world boss”, so that ads for these 2 don’t override ads for random stuff.
Basic lesson here, do research BEFORE you spend money (which you didn’t have to BTW you can get to 500 relatively inexpensively if you’re patient). It has nothing to do with Anet that you made rash, and inpatient decisions.
If you had done research before hand you would have known
-leatherworking is the cheapest Gift of Blades
-ascended crafting is time gated
-The least expensive way to level crafting
-That recipes tell what craft you need to make them
Sorry if this isn’t what you want to hear you kittened up, everyone does at some point try to learn from it. There are less forgiving places to make mistakes than a video game.
TRAHEARNE!!!
Anet, just bring in Trahearne and let Mordy squeezeeeee him, and then munch on him!Trahearne is EVIL.
Fact. But then Mordremoth would get corrupted.
rofl! i see what you did there.
have a +1 good sir!
Give us Mounts, Anet! Pretty Please with Chocolate, Whipped Cream, Cherry and Mayonnaise? d^_^b
Only thing that would change is me spending less time, and not spending extra 3 silvers to port to bank; which shouldn’t be a huge deal I think?
Not exactly the only thing that changes, ANet gets less money.
Would it still be legendary if everyone has it?
Yes
Ekhm… Who’s Drobutt ?

I would be happy with a preview that don’t require me to buy the kit in the first place.
Why would you make them account bound in the first place when the are already annoying and difficult to get, especially if you spend all your geodes on 47 lockpicks and still nothing, and then it’s another 350 geodes if you get t5 unlocked.
So make the weapons sellable so that somone with 0 RNG can get one, along with all the other super duper unluckies. I don’t mind crafting at all I have a few professions up to 500- so crafting isn’t the issue.
That’s just my take on it!

I think her death was premature.
She was an interesting character that we barely got to know. We didn’t get a chance to really care about this character. I just feel that her role in the story is unfinished.
