Legendary Howler Bug [merged]

BassHunteR.7246

I used to fight for this cause.
I really tried.
I created a different thread on bug report section and used to bump that one and this one everytime they left 1st page..
I got infractions multiple times for doing that..
I also sent private messages with links to both topics to 7 different ANET members on 5 ocasions.
I picked up the most active ones that were posting on forums daily and started pming them explaing and asking for feedback. Did that during 2 months and got no feedback..no answer…just more infractions.
Than i decided it was time to realize that if they did not answer after all that..but took the time to give me infractions…they read the topic and decided not to answer.. and that clearly means they don’t care.
So it is up to you guys.
Howler is what it is..
By far.. one of the worse combo (animation+ effects) in game.
No forecast to be fixed and apparently, after25/08 they proved us that things can get even worse.
So if you gonna craft it..do it for the stats and being able to change it the way you like whenever you like…AND THAT IS IT.
Forget everything cool about a legendary..
This is not the case.
Get a regular blue warhorn from lvl 20 mobs and it will have better animation and sound prolly.
Anet does not care.
It is time to deal with it already…i did. I use it.. muted my game sound no to hear that horn everytime i use itvand problem “solved”.
I decided not to waste more time with legendaries since anet doesnt care to fix bug on items that takes so long to be crafted

The ones you can buy with 75 fractal relics from the golem vendor are good enough. Just buy food if you really want the stat boost. This is what arenanet should clear up on their next update for the fractals. I was under the impression I had to buy these overpriced infusions to be able to play fractals above level 10. Those things are more of an extravagance, rather than a necessity. But if you really have the gold, why not? I mean, if you have 8,000 gold, surely you can buy that ~65 gold per infusion FOR A kittenING +5 POWER INCREASE kittenING BULLkitten!

Make "Unobtainable" armor obtainable!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Kjell.8379

So you want to destroy the concept of rarity and antiquity entirely?
Btw you can get an unobtainable armour just fine. Buy an account with it.

Well uh. I mean. These armour sets that are currently unobtainable were just kinda gone one day with no actual warning. People had no way of knowing that they should get one particular armour set while it still was attainable. Guild armour at the very least has no excuse for existing only partially available.

Purchasing a pre-owned account is really not a sensible solution compared to adding these already existing armour skins back into the game.

Rant about gemstore selling strategy

I never understood why Anet does that. Its not like they have limited shelf space to store their digital items. To me it makes more sense to have everything available all the time so that the players have more stuff to buy…

There have been many times when an item that I want debuts on the gem store, but didn’t have the money that week. So the next paycheck I have some extra funds and the item i wanted is gone. So i use that money to buy something from another game. (LoL champ skins usually…) …

That money could have been Anet’s but they lost out..

I, for one, would be extremely happy to see the unobtainable armors come back. No one has yet mentioned how disheartening it can be for a new player to look at the list of armor that he or she cannot get simply because they did not start playing the game when it came out. I know that for me, the drive to get them stems from an urge for completion on my part; I hate it when I have just a few of something missing. So yes, I’d like to be able to get those armors. I’d definitely be willing to put in the work for them. I might not ever wear them, and I might in fact hate the look of them, but my little heart goes pitter-pat every time I unlock something. And I’d spend more time playing and be more likely to buy things in-game if I knew I would be able to unlock every single skin, if only I worked hard enough.

It’s not about whether a game is good or bad or successful or not. It’s about whether the games and the devs are fair to their players, and I think that fairness should start with giving all players the ability to get the same things. They’ve done that with the gemstore, because you can farm up the gold and exchange them for the gems to buy something if you really want it and can’t afford to spend real-world monies on it. I’d like to see them do it with things like this, too. By all means, make us work for them. But at least give us the chance.

I did a staff build for exactly that reason for a friend.

I don´t know laurel an karma available.
The trinkets are from karma/laurel/badges (its 85 laurel + about 130k karma)
You can substitute the rings for more knights or soldiers from karma if not enough laurel. I find captains perfect.
If hoelbrak is to expensive or you want more defence you can use melandru rune.

In pvE use power food not -condi.
If a bit more burn damage is wanted use strength of stone trait. Geomancers is good because you can swap to earth and use it well + the combination hoelbrak/food/geomancers makes you practicall imune to criple/chill/imobilize.
This build can stand a bit of punch it is mostly camping fire and has near automatic defences.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFEQFAWhcMothlNwvB0RMQAYRBIAsAmdwLIIITyOQJA-TVyDwAKuAAxU/hnSMoKPAYi7wDA4jOAEKBlt/QAAEA25OPaIDwyWA-w

My friend is happy with it and runs it in WvW and PvE.

Range is your friend. But if you don´t dodge/run from the champions attack … splat annyway ;-).

Run around in air for 25% speed. Fire static and swap to fire, if it cries for defence swap to earth (especially against missiles with reflect on 3). Thats a bit more toughness and you can slow down oponents with earth + weaken with earth auto. Of course you have the healing flields in water if needed or cried for by your team.

High power and armor
Solid crit chance of 50%
Average health.
Automatic condi defence built in.
Easy to use signets, especially fire should be always used. Water/eath is to catch/hold targets.
Low elemental swaping.
Strong might stacking.

This turned out as a solid not to squishy support firepower build.

When you develop your own game, you can decide how movement speed works.

Be happy that we even move faster out of combat at all, since we could have been stuck at “combat speed” at all times….

I personally enjoy the speed increase that allows us to get around faster when not in combat.

I suggest adding daily bug, daily crash, daily lag, daily kick because of lag/dc/crash, adding achievement for loading more than 10 minutes to every single map, exclusive title for those who disconect during loading and adding solution to the client crash problem to gemstore – I value it 10 000 gems. How sad people who want to buy it won’t get it since you cannot use gemstore without succesfull login…

[Beta] Adventures - Feedback/Bugs Thread

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: famfamfam.9137

famfamfam.9137

Noticed there wasn’t much feedback on adventures yet. I made time to unbug the events and check out all 3 of the adventures in the beta, thoughts below. Feel free to use this thread for your own feedback too.

Bugs in the BranchesVideo from Lekyii

“I can’t see the one right in front of me!” — 7/10

This adventure becomes available after the Itzel hylek have completed their hunting events in the Outpost: Jaka Itzel chain. It involves collecting bugs around the landscape (or gliding and catching them from the air). To catch a bug you need to touch it.

  • Getting silver on this adventure is moderately tricky.
  • Getting gold on this adventure is overly difficult, because bugs are hard to see when close but might be OK otherwise.

This adventure is hard to test because the event chain breaks too easily, meaning the adventure never unlocks.

  • There is no NPC near this adventure to explain it to you, or to explain why is is unavailable. An NPC should be added to this adventure to explain why the adventure cannot be started, or the message when you attempt to interact with the flag should tell you why the adventure is unavailable (the Itzel village must be secured first).
  • When getting near to bugs their name disappears, which means they can be really hard to spot, epsecially if you are in mid-air and your body/glider is obscuring the bug. The names should not disappear when close OR the bugs should be changed to be ‘fireflies’ and have a visible glow on them.
  • One of the branches has a bug sitting on it does not have collision, so attempting to get that bug makes you fall through the branch down to the bottom (it is the branch that strecthed the furthest out into the map).
  • If you hit the updraft at the bottom it does not take you high enough to land on a platform.
The updraft gives you more height the higher you hit it, but there is no indication where the updraft area starts.
  • The updraft should be changed to take you to a certain height no matter where you start in it OR the updraft should give you more height OR the updraft should be moved upwards.
  • The lower set of branches can be tricky to walk across.
  • If you are doing this adventure as day turns into night, mordrem tendrils will spawn and throw AoEs at you while you attempt to collect bugs.

Tendril TorcherVideo from Lekyii

“139 seems impossible even if my flamethrower was working” — 7/10

This adventure becomes available after completing the first set of the Laranthir event chain during daytime. It involves burning tendrils with a flamethrower while avoiding the knockback from bombs.

  • Getting silver on this adventure is moderately tricky.
  • Getting gold on this adventure is overly difficult to impossible, because the flamethrower misses tendrils too easily.
  • This adventure is easy to test. It is somewhat clear why it is not available, but sometimes it is not available even when there are no active evnts or defences nearby.
  • The NPC should tell you why the adventure cannot be started, or the message when you attempt to interact with the flag should tell you why the adventure is unavailable (the Itzel village must be secured first), or the adventure should be disconnected from the event chain.
  • The flamethrower is really hit-and-miss. It appears there is a sweet-spot that you need the tendrils to be in for the flamethrower to count, but its non-obvious. Sometimes tendrils get burned when they don’t appear to be in range, sometimes tendrils stay alive when it looks like they are getting a good torching. The aear-of-effect of the flmaethrower should be increased to match it’s visible area, maybe make it a bit wider.
  • The bouncing mushroom on the lowest level of this adventure has a habit of bouncing you straight up in the air rather than onto the top of the cliff above. As a result you fall back down to your death and the adventure ends.
  • Players doing this adventure should be immune to boons, movement speed bonuses and portals from anything other than speed msuhrooms. Currently the best way to achieve a high score on this adventure is to have a guardian and a mesmer run along side you stacking speed and portalling you.
  • If you are doing this adventure as day turns into night, mordrem tendrils will spawn and throw AoEs at you while you.

Dodgy Crowd achievement bugged!

Seeds of Truth – Dodgy Crowd is bugged. When I play as Caithe and I fulfilled all the requirement, dodging all the sandstorm and wall etc. The yellow icon thing just keep staying there in the end. It won’t grant me the suppose reward. This result blocking the progress of getting my Bioluminescence skin and ascended armor chest reward.

I’ve tried a few times wasting hours, the “dodgy crowd” yellow icon just keep staying there without granting me the reward. (I’ve already go through all the after boss conversation with NPC, still not working).

Please fix this sooner, thanks!

An enterprising poster found this for me:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lwd/Default-Character-Animations-Spoil-It-All/first#post4402717

It is supposedly the original thread that resulted in removal of the “fidget” animations from all the human females.

The thread has 34 entries. By my count, only FOUR people outright said the animations were “jarring” or “immersion breaking”. Much of the other talk covers other actions that seem inappropriate at certain times (i.e. a cheery “Hello!” or something like that if you speak with NPCs at a tragic scene. You toon saying “You can never have too much treasure” when you collect your reward at a time when you’re supposed to be crying your eyes out.) Overall, the complaints are mostly about the NPCs, not the players toons.

Even the OP didn’t call for outright removal of the animations from all characters. He suggested the addition of some “neutral” animations that could be used instead during those situations.

So there ya go. A thread with 34 posts vs. all the threads that want the animations restored. (Including the topic in the BUGS forum which at this time is up to 301 posts).

A small post, with a minor issue taken way out of context. PLEASE, ANet. Restoration is long overdue.

As my altered subject line states; could someone PLEASE address this situation and let us know what is going on?

Well my mini pets are still in the cut scenes. Boy, they are really making it hard to stay immersed in the story! If only I could… I dunno, kick a little dirt over them or something? Look away from them up into the sky? Or is that stretching things? No! Noooooo! I’m brushing the hair away from my eyes so I can see the offending minis better!

Seriously… I take a lot of screen caps. Using my Wayback Machine, I looked at the time periods between the Betas and the invasion of Southsun Cove. Even back then, a lot of my pictures are taken at some point during one of those animations. They help “tell the story” in the photos far better than just standing there doing nothing. Can PLEASE we get some word on when these will be restored? I don’t want to enter the Maguuma Jungle without ’em.

Do you really think Anet will ever make raids? I mean, I would love to see them. Raids in WoW were the only fun I had in that game, but I don’t think Anet likes instanced content

Well Anet has hired a Raid designer a while ago. And Colin said that the Open World Content in HoT is not what they mean with Challenging Group Content. So yes, Raids could be possible in HoT

Chilipadiboy, I agree with you. The average gamer does not really enjoy dying over and over with nothing to show for his/her time. They like rewards. They like winning. The recent hp changes are not bringing things like that. They are making things much more frustrating, and time consuming. That’s not fun or rewarding when you have to put in more time and effort for the same reward you got before, and now are more likely to not even be rewarded.

I am here to speak for the silent majority in the game. First off let me give you the profile of the many of never come to the forums but want to enjoy the game.

The average gamer here is not a “Metabattle Warrior”. We cannot nor want to calculate every single damage point and every single stat. We just want our character to look cool and do whatever we want it to do. The average gamer is not part of a gigantic guild with organised leaders who know the game inside out. We rarely even have friends who play to begin with. The average gamer wants to have fun and small challenges to receive a sense of accomplishment together with other gamers. We do not want to be exluded Read 80s Exp Only, fail Get destroyed by tequatl/Evolved Jungle Wurm, became desperate because all methods keep failing Read trying to do AC but dying because of 30 bleeds and cleanses on cooldown, or belittled read people shouting at you on chat and calling you an idiot and blaming each other for failing.

The recent changes have made this all come back again. Challenging group content does not mean turn make people turn against one another. It just means people from RANDOM places who try and coordinate with one another should succeed EG old times teq before condi patch. When the new condi patch came it the world bosses and dungeons were not “too easy” rather, it was made accessible to the average gamer who now had a real chance and completing a milestone together with random people. Case in point was Evolved Jungle Wurm. Random commanders from different clans who only need to be on the same team can lead the wurm. And not only that, we had numbers because the average gamer KNEW they actually had a chance at completing
the wurm.

Going back to my point, the doubling of HP, the defiance during condi damage, the nerfing of power based damage in dugeons was unnecessary. Tequatl fails more times than succeeding which is not what it should be. People lose hope and just not letting the average gamer succeed. Evolved jungle wurm is as hard as ever which is not a good thing as it means the average gamer has once again no chance of successfully completing the event. And the best one, the easiest dungeon has become impossible to do due to higher hp mobs and doubled up bosses. Not to mention getting swarmed by 30+ trash mobs makes the average gamer feel like a world boss with no HP to talk about. The average gamer doesn’t want to die over and over. We want to and like to succeed.

All that being said, I really hope Anet relooks their strategy for balancing the game. There are much better ways to drain gold for the game or make content more challenging. But definitely do not alienate your main demographic i.e. Average Gamers from the equation as these people are what made your game popular and it would be a shame to lose them.

inb4:

Git Gud Nub: I do lead teq and participate in evolved jungle wurm and try and do dungeons daily. I am not the Average gamer. However anyone can see this has gone too far. It even made the game less enjoyable for me which is really saying something

Another complainer: No, this is an analysis and feedback.

Anet screwed up:Yes and No. This is normal and it is up to the community to give them proper feedback. However Anet should also have tested their updates properly. Not with Full ascended full infused gear but rather with normal exotic gear and going with a decent pug. Not to mention the dungeons and fractals were completely left out of the testing for sure.

Get off GW2: I payed for this game and I enjoyed it before. I am going to get my moneys worth. Especially with the new expansion coming out.

/rant

Feel free to comment. If an Anet dev could comment too that would be greatly appreciated.
