I want Shao Khan.
I find it a little weird why there is any discussion considering you have yet to die from something that seems OTT to you? How can it be OTT if you still didn’t lose to it?
I find pretty much any Warrior build that uses most sources of passive health regeneration extremely annoying to fight but I still find ways to kill them all the same. I have no right to complain in that sense. Annoying =/= imbalance. Same with evasive Thieves. It’s just swatting an angry wasp.

From Reddit:

Arenanet always championed that they don’t want castbars in the UI because they want the game to be based around animations. A fair goal. Yet we are getting hit by damage we CLEARLY evaded just because some animations scale with character size, giving Asurans an incredible advantage in PVP because opponents cannot see where damage is.
After seeing Denshi reroll mini asura for his Ele in the ToL I did the same for my rather huge Norn ele. Noticing something strange I did some range check tests…
For reference, my female Norn is about 1/4th of the max Norn size, and my Asura is as small as they get.
First, Churning Earth.
Both the animation and the aoe range circle match, and the skill does damage inside this exact area. http://i.imgur.com/SdkBjpb.png 1 and http://i.imgur.com/PnMgdzx.png 2
Next, Drake’s Breath.
On the Norn, the animation matches up almost perfectly with the range the skill does damage at. Max Damage range: http://i.imgur.com/80FvzGv.png 3 and just ouside of range: http://i.imgur.com/efE6QMr.png 4
Also, yay, pretty ele animations.
Anyway, now see what happens when you compare the animation to the real range the skill has on the tiny asura:
The exact spot the Norn was standing on. http://i.imgur.com/g2VLNzf.png 5
The animation doesn’t even reach half the range the skill really has. Your opponents can clearly stand outside of your burning fire yet still take damage from invisible things. This shouldn’t happen in a game that is based around reading the enemy through his animations to counter them.
I also tested Lightning Whip, Ring of Earth and Frozen Burst. They behave the same as Drake’s Breath, the animation not even reaching half the range the skill really has. http://i.imgur.com/jAAq95j.png 6

From some further tests on the elementalists it seems skills that are either projectiles (like Dagger Fire Auto attack) or have AOE indicator circles like Ring of Fire are the same size no matter your character size. But I suspect all Skills that aren’t single target and don’t fall into the 2 mentioned categories are effected by this animation issue (like Warrior Hammer swings and cleaves like that).
Which is huge.

Look for your chest in HotW. Maybe they put it there for the sake of consistency…

Anet let this happen for people that have lot of alts
For items like the Black Lion Trader Express, Merchant, Banker, Res Orb, Repair Kit, or even Boosts, could we have an option to use these from our character menu? Or to be able to have them mailed from our bank?
It’s rather inconvenient to have to remember to take a few on each character to be able to use them effectively.
It would be a huge qol improvement if they were part of the wallet system, with charges, instead of actual items. +1
I don’t use these often but I love the idea of charges instead of actual items.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone – makes me happy to see that my work hasn’t gone unnoticed!
Full Berserker, Keen Observer, Side Strike, Signet of Agility, Discipline, Spotter and Fury puts you at 102%. You don’t need Assassin or Precise Infusions or Accuracy Sigils.

Hey everyone,
As of tomorrow, I will no longer be a part of the ArenaNet team. I have accepted a job offer elsewhere, and it will be a big step in my career path.
I’ve been an avid Guild Wars fan since the first one shipped. My life has been intertwined with ArenaNet in many ways. I have learned so much from the team and so much from the community as I’ve progressed through the positions I’ve held here (QA, Alpha Coordinator, PvP Community Coordinator to now covering all of Competitive, Skills and Balance); it’s hard to imagine leaving.
Once I made it onto the Competitive Team, I knew it was the place for me. I have an extremely competitive background, so everything really clicked into place. Needless to say, it’s been a huge pleasure to work here and be on the Competitive Team for the past year.
I’m sad to leave you all behind, but I will still be involved with the team in my own ways. I still hang out with a lot of these guys after work, and will keep an eye on the forums every once in a while to see how things are going. I’m confident that the team can handle things once I’m gone.
I will always love Guild Wars and will continue to work on ranking up in PvP/WvW, and would love to ready up with those of you that are interested!
If you’d like to know what kinds of things I’ll be doing in the future or would like to just stay in touch, here’s some of my info:

My question is simple. First off let me state that I play a lot of PvE and very little WvW, but I use to go into WvW to help build up the score so PvE players like myself would get the various bonuses. These days, I never know if the WvW bonuses are working or not (I know someone claimed they were working again), some times they do some times they don’t.
Why should I be bothered to go into WvW when I don’t get to enjoy the benefits?
And before anyone says other wise, yes that was the ONLY reason I would go into WvW other than mapping (I still think that is wrong on so many levels).
Maybe unlike most people, I don’t come from a long background of MMOs, so maybe my opinion is the minority? But, as I posted else where, I think the flexibility to skip or traverse areas of the dungeon and not being linearly locked down to a set path, is a good thing. The freedom to choose is good imo. Zerging in the corner is a bit more efficient, but it doesn’t mean you as a player don’t have options to not do it that way.
OP, you ready to have your mind blown?

I’d definitely like to see more things to do in the lobby, and I love jumping puzzles.
What other sorts of things would you guys like to see?
A flexible, intuitive, non intrusive, fast Dueling system (OUTSIDE arenas and even the lobby).
Thank you for reading.
Random power ups, perhaps like those from the bazaar of the four winds release, I enjoyed that.
So yeah. During wintersday, i did PvP a lot. i REALLY enjoyed myself. Got me into serious PvP (well i have a more serious mindset because i understand it)
So what i want to ask is this.
Waiting on a match sometimes takes a while. I dont like Alt Tabbing because i dont want to miss a match.
How do we fix this? add more things to jump on! back in wintersday, all the presents were a blast to jump about. I think a small jumping puzzle, or even a small sky path with holes to jump over.. THAT WOLD BE AWESOME

The way a 5v4 should be handled is as follows (assuming the 5 person team wins)
1. Everyone on the 5 person team should get a win
2. The 4 members of the losing team should not get a loss
3. The 1 person who left should get a loss
if the game starts off 5v4 it should not even begin all go back to mists and person who didn’t show gets dishonorable stack.
If it’s 5v4 I would like to see where after 60 seconds a balance happens where the first person to die on the team with 5 cannot leave spawn. If the enemy 5th shows up it goes away. If someone else dies on the team with 5 it replaces them in spawn. The team with 5 still has the advantage because they have no downtime on death, and because it would stay 5v4 if they don’t die.
At least then the team with 4 can try to kill someone and create a 4v4, and then try to come back from behind (which they most likely are since they went a minimum 60 seconds outnumbered).
Anyone r70ish frankly plays too much.
Developers: OMG – he plays our game too much! We never intended an MMO to be played in this manner. Punish him!
bring out pitchforks (said no developer ever).
But seriously, the amount of hate towards dedicated players is amazing and smacks heavily of jealousy. The creators of GW2 should be honored that people are playing so much and they should show their appreciation.
That’s what you do for long time dedicated customers. Or didn’t you know?
Hey Karl,
I just want to thank you and the rest of the balance team for taking a very level-headed approach to nerfing Pistol Whip after some of the monstrosities of suggestions in Allie’s thread, which had me worried to say the least. Thanks for deciphering the QQ and not nerfing it to the ground as many non-thieves had so hoped. This change is definitely a healthy one for the set.
You will need to run the dungeons in story mode AFTER the update to permanently unlock the tracks.
I already have Dungeon Master, why force me to play the long story modes again?
Greetings and salutations.
With Season 1 of the Living Story drawing to a close, it seems appropriate to offer review and reflection of everything that has come thus far. Sadly, there is much to consider, as the brand new path trod by Anet has many missteps and mishaps along the way.
Rather than talk about individual flaws, I thought it might be best to take a stab at the overall writing style of the Living Story and the narrative flaws it continues to exhibit. Plot holes come and go, individual complaints will always remain, but the best way to help Season 2 is to consider the pitfalls of Season 1 from a writing and gaming perspective. And so, I thought I would offer up a bit of constructive criticism in silly infographic format.
For your consideration, Fifteen Lessons From Fifteen Months of Scarlet Briar.
My wife and I have purchased almost every outfit for use in Guild Wars 2 across our three accounts.
Converting these outfits, NONE OF WHICH ARE USED IN THEIR ENTIRETY ON A SINGLE CHARACTER, into all or nothing outfits is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.
What will the process be to refund our gems for the costumes that will now become simply cut and paste copies of the outfits the hundreds of thousands of other people who purchased these costumes are wearing.
These outfits were originally sold as pieces that could be mixed and match to create the look you wanted for your character, or in other words, to “play the way you want to play.” Changing their functionality in this manner amounts to little more than a bait and switch.
Sincerely,
Proud member of the Ring of 1000

I’m amazed at the foreknowledge in this thread. Do tell, my fellow psychics, how did you guys manage to predict so far in to the future that 1200 range weapons would be OP/broken? What techniques do you use? Tarot? Tea leaves?
Oh, that’s right, wild stabs at thin air.
On topic, I’d rather Rifle than LB just because of The Predator.
