Not everyone is good enough to play without vit/toughness, I like being able to stay alive.
I’m pretty disturbed by the watchknights in this update.. I find it hard to believe that a Jenna, a confident, powerful female leader would endorse these glorified ‘fem-bots’.
I think it’s one thing for player’s avatars to be able to represent multiple facets of a particular gender (being living, sentient characters there’s an implication of personal choice, which i totally advocate), but an engineered construct that is overtly feminine (they even have high heels!) and overtly sexual (part of the art on their “anatomy” implies nudity) is worrying because they are representations of women with no agency of their own made to obey, whilst being thin, tall and busty, and worst of all silent. They are obedient, objectified women designed to serve.
I think I would less concerned if there was equal gender representation, but I’m yet to see any male watchknights, meaning that it’s a clear choice on the developers behalf. I dunno, I just don’t like it. It’s perhaps a small thing but I think it’s lazy and simplistic, particularly from a game that I think has some very compelling and engaging content that promotes collaboration, community, cooperation, compassion and a real sense of collectivity.
Interested in others thoughts.
This reminds me of a funny picture.
I personally would not mind some male shaped robot warriors to protect us. They must have abs, a cute booty and strong arms.
I’d just like to thank the Team of this Month’s update.
Placing the story instance at the start of the event was a great idea.
It’s a nice way to explain what happened to the great collapse and putting everything in context.
Even more, you guys did a great job on the story of that instance. The characters really felt like they had personality, and the events happening during the opening ceremony were pretty interesting. It ended with some questions left unanswered, that we will hopefully know more about in two weeks.
Who’s the mysterious figure, is this Scarlet? Does Countess Anise have an hidden agenda?
So thanks again for this focus on the story, and I hope this is the quality of things to come lore wise. The pacing was great, and there’s just enough content to “tune in next time” to know what happens next.

It does not work in WvW.
This is the reason I chose GW2.
-.-
Thought this was a suggestion forum.. so I was merely mentioning my concerns and disappointment. Hoping that others that feel the same way I do will speak up. Maybe the game creators will listen and improve the game.
Your point is understood, but GW2 was deliberately designed this way and one of the reasons it has attracted such a large number of people to it. There are a few people like minded to yourself who want a tiered endgame, but that philosophy was not what was ever intended here and. The devs want people to get the highest tier armor and weapons with min effort so people dont feel like they are excluded or grinding.
For me – fantastic. More gameplay time and less hassle worrying about where my next stats are going to come from
I’m sorry you wasted money and two weeks on a game without knowing the first thing about its design. Guild Wars 2 is not for you.
When you see “Victory or Death!” in the corner of the screen, and think, “Can’t we just go with death, so you go away?”
No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind.
Buy the ticket, take the ride.
They said that they are aware of this and right now, wvw players dont get as much AP in return for their time invested as pve players.
I expect them to change the wvw achievement values in an upcoming update.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
wvw is garbage.
Yes its zerg. vs. zerg.Nothing else.
The people that talk about 1v1, or 1v2-3 only gets fights once every 45 minutes or so. (and thats being very lenient)
even when that is the case, theres a 99% chance that the person that you are fighting against is a very mobile class that will reset/flee the fight at any chance of loss.
There is no strat to this game for wvw or pvp. If you play a non mobile class for the solo game play and pretend being a scout means something then you are screwed. And just by the way, you add nothing to the wvw.
So if you have no interest in zerging, you have come to the wrong game.
Ignore this guys post…total bs.
For me it was the best update since they introduced fractals. Wallets! Decent champion loot! Promoting doing different dungeons! And on top of that challenging 1v1-content in the Queen’s Gauntlet and for those moments where I need something relaxing, a worthwile grinding opportunity in the pavilion. Even the open world thingies are thought out better than before – no competition who could be first at the spawn point (now: of the balloons).
The only point which I share is that they missed the opportunity to give us a cinematic during the balloon ride.
Y’know maybe we can sell them because the darned things are still dropping . . .
Best thing about this living story: Hobo-Tron!
Show your love to the poor thing! I think we need a Hobo-Tron mini atat some point!
Queen Jennah was yesterday news. It’s about the Tron now!
They are all watchknights with a little mesmer magic
The Knights Temple [TKT] — Aurora Glade
When I first read the initial post, I thought to myself “Well, that’s a little silly – why close enrollment to the majority of players based on sex? Don’t you want the guild to be filled with good players?”
But then, the rest of the thread happened. It’s as if 90% of you read the initial post and said to yourself “Man, I am going to validate the thought process behind her decision. Validate it SO HARD!”
pre-ordered HOT at this point,
save yourself the money and don’t bother.
My personal opinion is that stuns in any way shape or form are a bad thing when applied to any human player for any reason. Taking away peoples ability to play their toon annoys them.
pshhh unless your me then it’s more like this. (since as a guard you can’t outrun anything)
Server: Northern Shiverpeaks, Commander
Guild: Legends and Myth [Myth]
One thing many have not realized is that some people do not care who gets elected.
I voted only to get the achievements and various rewards, not because I have strong feelings towards either candidate. And while I see many people invest in the election, I see just as many who do not care either way or are voting casually.
OP and his posts is the reason I vote for Kiel.
It’s entirely possible to be frozen and then set on fire. It would definitely not be a good feeling.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
Tell his mom what he said. Let her give him a temporary ban. ^^
Asura toon abusers accusing TP of underhanded tactics LOL
TP’s performance has been one of the most consistent on the game. They’ve been helpful for the community. They participate positively on the forums.
People have a reason to be biased in their favor. They actually make this game and the community better compared to the behavior some people make.
And the xenophobia behind the smear campaign on Xeph’s eligibility is just deplorable.
I don’t agree with their balance perspectives all the time, especially Phantaram, but they are amazing community members and players nevertheless.

Well…this thread is just sad. I’m even more happy TP won after seeing this level of sportsmanship. Sore losers are never fun to cheer for.
Kudos to the members of CC in this thread who seem to actually HAVE sportsmanship though. Good show, the whole matchup was extremely fun to watch and had me on the edge of my seat. This is exactly the kind of thing GW2 needs to make it in esports.
As an aside…lol at the tin foil hat brigade. I love how two members (Xeph and Phanta) having to switch classes a little over 1 week before the tournament is somehow indicative of Anet favoring TP and balancing according to their desires. Lmao…

You don’t get it Mike. There are also tons of people (like me) who absolutely love the demolishing of traditional roles in MMOs. No more waiting an hour for that healer to be available for a dungeon. No more tank&spank encounters where your only job is to watch your hotkey bar and hammer a certain rotation.
For every player who stops playing GW2 because of the missing holy trinity there is another who will play it exactly for that reason.
I told you already. You like holy trinity MMOs? Go play one of the dozen available ones. This is not the game you’re looking for.
I’ve seen much loving and much hating on jumping puzzles, I personally love them.
I would like to hear your opinion about a neverending jumping puzzle (like fractals of the mists being a neverending dungeon).
We already have a small jumping puzzle that like that in Metrica province but taking it even further could be pretty fun.
The way i see it the same basic idea of fractals could be applied, every 10 levels the difficulty gets increased by adding different traps (causing conditions and even agony, involuntarily teleportations and such), enemies (increasing in difficulty up to soloable champions), hazzards (health draining effects like hunger/frostbite, deadly walls chasing you like the clockwork tower)
It would be a solo adventure but maybe a choice between solo and group would be even better.
Any ideas and opinions are welcome!
absolutely no incentive to play other then 2 have some fun
Isn’t that the best incentive though ?
