Guild: None Mercenary
SoR since day 1
ArenaNet I would like to thank you for providing myself and my spouse such a great gaming experience. I would like to encourage to all GW2 players to post a screenie of their spouse’s /significant other since valentine’s day is drawing near.
Signed,
Happy GW2 Couple’s.
The OP, IMO, is completely wrong. The increase in HP is good, as it allows people a better chance to get there in time to tag the mobs. The initial invulnerability is bad, because it now makes it harder to reliably tag the mobs. Why is this bad? Before the change, I would tag and then decrease my damage output considerably if others were at the node. to ensure that they also had a chance to tag. Now I have to be much more aggressive to ensure that I get full contribution, making it harder to make sure everyone gets a share.
My suggestion? Give the mobs a few seconds of protection as they fan out, rather than invulnerability, so that people have a few seconds to tag where they are much less likely to kill the mobs outright. This would make the orderly sharing of nodes a lot less stressful.
The thing I liked about the extra HP is that if someone pops the holo by themselves, the fight will actually last awhile. So if you are in the area and see the holo spawn on your map, would have some time to get there before they all go poof. I was just in Gendarran Fields on a very poorly geared 80, and doing them by myself was nontrivial but perfectly doable. I don’t know yet what it is like for chars who are to the level of the zone. But this was a huge improvement over the first days of the event, because you didn’t have to camp the spawn points to avoid having them crushed right away. You could actually move around a bit and have some time to get to the holos when activated.
It sounds like most of the solutions people are proposing involve avoiding other players. I’m sure that some of them work, but avoiding other players (or resenting them when they’re nearby) isn’t something I associate with Guild Wars 2.
Some of the best parts of this game are the ways it encourages people to work together. It’s innovative, it feels kind of heroic and it’s a lot of fun. Competing with other players for resources, or looking for ways to avoid them feels out of place and a little bit worn-out.
Since they’re all in low level areas, they get blown up really fast, just a few autoattacks for some classes. I’m finding that by the time I waypoint over, use swiftness to run to the projector, someone else has killed it, time after time again, my loading screens are a bit long, so but basically you have 5 seconds to kill all the mobs once the projector gets popped.
Can their health be increased or some other solution be found out (yes I know, get a better computer, whatever) so that people can actually get credit for these things?

I’d love to sees a different mechanic (which would kitten people off even more). I’d love to see a guy jump in, kill everything really fast, and get NO reward, because the game was able to tell he was a selfish kitten.
That’s what I’d like to see.
If that happened more often, people wouldn’t act the way they do.
Check your mail, if you purchased gem before, you get minis for free apparently!
Thank you anet!
:D
I don’t know why people feel that they have the right to bash any content Anet puts out unless there’s something fundamentally wrong with it. Unless something is fundamentally flawed about the new content, people should just sit back and enjoy it. And no, not being able to get all the achievements for events like these is not a fundamental flaw. They are called achievements for a reason. Compared to business models of other MMOs, for no monthly fee, we shouldn’t even be getting this much new content on a regular basis.
Some people who are complaining need to step back and realize they don’t have a right to openly and vehemently criticize free content that other people worked diligently on that they are simply consuming. It’s much easier to consume and critique something than to create something. Those that are spending a lot of time criticizing new content like this should learn basic respect and appreciate what is essentially being presented as a gift to them.
All I am reading here is people bashing Dragon Bash. So I would like to tell you that some people (like me) really like this event and all the work you have put into it!
I absolutely love Dragon Ball and Lion´s Arch decorations. Keep up the great work in the coming events and don´t let the negativism in the forums bring you down!
Because we do tend to bash ANet sometimes like a pinata, I want to take a moment to pause and appreciate what they’ve done this patch.
Guys, what a BEAUTIFUL event! Look at the drain covers in Lion’s Arch: each painted (by the Council we assume) to resemble a dragon’s face, the steam rising from the holes.
Look at the ramp leading to the plaze – the dragon elegantly painted along it. The holograph itself high above!
As with every event, this one is a visual feast for the eyes. Sure there’s stuff to tweak, but we have a month for it to be tweaked. The visuals are stunning, the theme is intriguing and wonderfully ominous (nothing like the hubris of celebrating dragon slaying to wake another dragon, eh?).. and the rewards, RNG or not, grind or not, are actually really cool and well worth wanting.
Thanks guys. If you’re reading, I think I probably stand for a lot of players who aren’t in the vocal group complaining, and just appreciate the hell out of this game.
The complaints thus far are absolutely mind boggling.
1.) Moa racing shouldn’t be part of the meta achievement.
Congratulations, it’s not! You only have to do 10/14 achievements, of which you have AN ENTIRE MONTH to do.
2.) The holo dragons in the lower zones breed competition and contempt.
It was like this during Halloween, Christmas and SAB. Same plan. But considering all the impatient people want to finish this in a day, it’s become a major issue. Once again, YOU HAVE AN ENTIRE MONTH. Let the crowds thin out and you’ll see the nodes sitting around doing nothing, like they have in every other event beforehand.
3.) RNG RNG RNG RNG RNG RNG RNG RNG
The biggest complaint I saw in Southsun was the fact that the crates off mobs didn’t drop enough. Now they drop off ANY WORLD MOB and now you have coffers being THROWN at you, in the hundreds and thousands, and you DON’T HAVE TO PAY A DIME. The RNG boxes have worked the same in EVERY OTHER HOLIDAY BEFOREHAND and if you’re a sucker enough to keep buying into them, then I have no hope for you as a human being. People are picking up hundreds IN A SINGLE DAY, and once again, THE EVENT LASTS FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH. The weapon skins DO NOT AFFECT YOU, in ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM, so have some WILLPOWER and DON’T BUY THEM.
By god, ever since that “other MMO” started handing everything to everyone by just logging in, everyone thinks that’s how it should be now.

Mini Zaithan?
Yes pls!
Reading from the posts up ‘till now, I’ve got the feeling that the inter-server feelings are a lot more negative in this match up … Keep it tidy people
Gl and hf to all.
My honest feedback about this is you’re asking too much for a fun raffle. Try 10s and only one prize or something, unless you’re only targeting people with too much money to burn, in which case they likely already have the dyes they want.
And if the raffle was 10s, maybe he should just raffle off unidentified dyes, this is a raffle for two of the highest “original” dyes. A 1 gold ticket isn’t that much, any level 80 can make that in an hour of playing, heck some lower levels can still make that pretty easy. I have too much money currently but that doesn’t mean I’ll spend 17g on Abyss, if I can get it for 1g? I’ll take those chances. The idea of this is to help people who HAVE the money, but aren’t willing to spend HUGE amounts of money for one cosmetic item.
So the point being 1 gold isn’t all that much for a fun raffle, that’s easily gained again, and if you win any of these wouldn’t you say that was 1g very well spent???
I understand where both of you guys are coming from. I appreciate everyone’s input and the next raffle will be less than 1 Gold, so that everyone even new comers to the game can participate. I’m just trying to build a good reputation so most of the skepticism will go away.

I’m sure your intentions are good and you are trying to build a better community and I think that’s great. Unfortunately people will remain skeptical when it comes to sending money to someone they don’t know. I was trying to think of a way I could help you with this but I don’t play much and after armor repairs from WvW today I am broke
Perhaps finding a very well known player/guild to hold the money and verify how much money was raised would be helpful. Also if many people do enter you will probably have more gold than the cost of the items you are giving away. People will want to see/know exactly where that money is going aside from saying for better prizes later. People may think you are talking about a better prize for yourself. I’m kidding
Once again I applaude you for taking the time to try and do something good for the community. I look forward to seeing how it works out.
Trehearne shows up and slaps you in the face … every day, forever, even after you uninstall the game.
So what do the procedes go to? I mean all the gold you raise from the raffel where does it go after paying for the dyes if enough gold has been collected to cover it? Also how are you determining the winners? Are you running some kind of random number script and if so what type and what will the procedure be? Is a third party player somehow auditing the raffel for legitimacy?
I’m not trying to be a jerk but I think knowing this information would be helpful before investing gold in a raffle.
The ones who point and laugh remind me of Nelson Muntz.
I solo camps all the time, I’ve soloed hundreds and I still sometimes forget to check for the RI buff before attacking.
Only a WvW player has 4 stacks of Badges, and nothing to spend them on.
Only a WvWer rejoices at not facing their usual lineup.
Only a WvWer laughs madly when they watch a siege get countered with -10% on a gate/wall.
Only the WvW player knows how it feels good to be a lone defender inside a tower when the gate is down and big big red sea of army come in.
Only a WvW player would jump of a cliff and die just because their commander did so.
Only a WvW player would understand “kittenING THIEF! RUNNING LIKE A LITTLE kitten!”
Only a WvW player would pull an all nighter for those extra points.
Only a WvW player would bow to his enemy or sleep next to his corpse.
Only a WvW player has not seen Zhaitan.
Only a WvW player has suffered multiple falling deaths because they are running around with their map open.
German orderliness, efficiency & discipline vs Polish happy chaotic anarchy.
Well, I referred to German as a language here. And I was mentioning the fact that we speak the same language. That’s the same on every server that is dedicated to one language. All those servers have an advantage because nearly all of the players are native speakers.
It was supposed to be a joke, don’t take it too serious.
On topic: I don’t socialize much with other players, so my conclusions may be wrong and there are more english speaking people then it seems on the first look.
I’m actually curious about the nationality proportions on Blacktide. If more then 90% of the community is from Poland, the server really deserves to be renamed in Blacktide [PL], that’s all.
You’re all newbs, after consulting a GW2 team member, i have had my ban lifted, due to their evidence was not clear enough to ban someone on constitutional rights.
Win.
For the record: You have never had a suspension or termination lifted in Guild Wars 2. And we do not reinstate for “constitutional rights.” U.S. Constitution Amendment #1 refers to right to free speech and places restrictions on the government in relation to preventing free speech. It does not guarantee anyone the right to “free speech” on a private game server.

I’m from FoW, and there’s an interesting thing going on here. Reading the forums, I’m hearing complaints about the randomisation being “too much”. Ironically, the problem in the case of RoF/FoW/Vab is that the randomisation actaully isn’t enough.
I get that FoW and Vab are both massively at the bottom, but one of the biggest problems hitting is that the new randomisation system actually wasn’t enough to split FoW and Vab.
When I heard this system was coming in, I was looking forward to having a third team other than vabbi on the books. Sure, it was never going to turn FoW into a premier WvW force or anything, but it’d at least make for hard competition between the two better servers, with the third being FoW or Vabbi actually standing a mediocre chance of picking up scraps and causing a bit of chaos while the other two do “the real fighting”.
A much better system would possibly be splitting the servers into three (probably fuzzy, as 3 into 8 doesn’t go) pools of eight servers, top, mid, low, and randomly dividing the servers up from there. Fuzziness might pull someone from top to mid, or mid to low and vice versa to overcome the problem with numbers,, and Vab/FoW may still get stuck to each other,,, but if I read the maths from the patch notes right, Vab/FoW are too far at the bottom to be ever split up under the new system.
Then try to help those realms. Its heartbreaking to come online and see we’re outmanned and a zerg waiting outside our respawn.
Yeah,, this is the first time I’ve seen people actually camping for prolonged periods,,, most people I know are taking a look and saying “yeah,, no point going in to that” and spending their time farming instead. Those really committed just leave for other servers. Both worsen the situation.

Are you serious?
I just got logged out, because i might have said the F word a bit too much, and banned for 167 hours? What the kitten?
What kind of system are you guys running, in NORMAL games, you get muted for 24/48 hours for saying the f word or something offensive, but being BANNED FOR 7 DAYS IS ABSOLOUTELY RIDICULOUS.Im a pottymouth, and im reframing from my cursing on this post, you cant ban people because of their nature and their potty mouth, atleast send them a warning if people are getting offended.
what you’re saying is 1 person out of the thousands on that server is offended by some of my language, okay lets ban him for 7 days.
That’s stupid! that is so stupid!!
You have no idea!I’ve spent alot of money on this game, gem store etc and you repay me with a 7 day ban for a few words said, not even directed at anyone?
Go look at what i said, post it here, and let the community decide, myself as a hardcore player that plays nearly 6-7 hours a day because i dont have a life and i love this game am absoloutely outraged.
You must see this from our point, that’s 7 Dailys, that’s 7 transmution stones, 7 jugalugs of karma?
Do that math. Im trying to farm for karma, and you guys arent friggin helping!ANYWAYS BACK TO THE TOPIC
This is unfair. Please read over this and post your replies… i know alot of people are kitten ed off for being banned for swearing.
You were suspended for two weeks, because you were suspended a couple of weeks ago for very offensive language. There is an escalating system for time-outs based on both recent and full-time account history.
Last time you were suspended for crude sexual references of a very offensive nature. This time, you were suspended for hate speech. Read the Rules of Conduct and the UA. You can’t continue using offensive sexual references (and I don’t mean an occasional F-bomb) or insulting TWO different races in a single sentence indefinitely. If you continue down that path, your account will be terminated.
So think before writing things in chat. And serve your suspension, because it will not be lifted or reduced given the nature of your comments and your account history. Because yes, we can and will ban the habitual “pottymouth” (as you call yourself) for the good of the game as a whole.

silly silly you.
I want to win the lotto too, but buying more tickets doesn’t guarantee that win.
I guess you can thank yourself luck that you only used pretend money and weren’t so foolish that real $$ weren’t tossed into the wind
