It does nothing for raid builds. If they are changing the trait it should be for something similar, to increase your damage either condi or power.

Hello.

So far I am heavily dissapointed with this trait / mechanic. Why does it even say it counts as 3x shades?

  • The only real benefit is lower cooldown, which HAS TO be comboed with another summon trait to take advantage off.
  • No triple damage or triple ammount of barrier/cleanses (dmg op, but for barriers I wouldnt mind healing 5k per 10s) … I know its for minor traits – but a better uptime is not a GM worthy mechanic changer
  • 3shade + you hits 15+5 poeple…. big shade + you hits 10+5
  • its a bit easier to hit…(IF youre invested in the summon proc) … waow

IDEAS:

  • Id take a small BUT STRONKer shade aka “ventari tablet”. 3x cleanse and 5k barier, small but movable…. for damage it would also be ok if only the summon trait procced 3x corupts

Hi, I tried out several builds running 3 small and 1 big shade respectively. So this is my take on it that will hopefully answer that question.

Casting and specifically even moreso re-casting 3 shades is clunky in fast paced high mobility combat combat. This is where 1 shade comes in. But there is a huge downside to using it on condi builds. It takes out a huge chunk of DPS because now your torments no longer burn.

I found the single big shade absolutely ideal suited to running heal / support / power based builds. It actually lets you do bigger heals / barriers if you are healing power based, as well as more damage due to not having to take time to re-cast the small shades if you are power based.

It does suck for condi though, as the DPS loss is too much and puts it well below what you end up doing with small shades traited for burns on torment, thus not having the big shade.

I would vastly prefer to run the big shade because I think the 3 shades is too clunky, but I prefer condi DPS due to all the corrupts corrupting boons into torment + cripple, and with burns on torment the DPS loss from traiting big shade is self explanatory.

I think that is actually working as intended balance wise, make condi powerful but difficult to apply cause of shade recasts, while heals / barriers etc. easier to apply, but not sure, would need actual a-net response to confirm.

Love the siege finisher idea, how about a ballista blueprint? :P

If they ever do introduce WvW finishers they most certainly should be for rank, it’s about time they give high ranks some prestige in this game…

Lol…yeah, cuz the last round of pips and rewards didn’t help high ranks at all…no prestige skins or nuthin!

Pips do not add prestige, the new armor does not add prestige either, you ONLY need 2k rank, that’s not even high rank in my book, I was talking about something for Mithril rank up, that’s high rank.

Considering only a small fraction of GW2 players are in WvW, and then only a small fraction of that number is Mithril or higher, you’re asking Anet to do something for a very small crowd, which makes it very unlikely to happen.

Pvp is also a very small crowd, however they are in no shortage of prestige items, such as top 250 titles, Statues built in their likeness and crowns or w/e.

So far from playing the Scourge, I have no desire to change from Reaper, I was hoping that we’d finally get a place in the game, but alas we seem to be left a drift for along time to come,

Some other classes got a massive boost with their new elites, but we will be left behind again sadly, there are key things we have been asking for, for years on the necro and we still don’t have them.

It looks like im going to be forced to play another class, just so I can get into higher end PvE content, to sad Anet to sad.

Besides… if you ever played GW1 you know that the old God of Secrets, Abaddon was long since denounced and is now dead, having been replaced by Kormir who ascended to Godhood after absorbing his power when we killed him and became the new Goddess of Truths… and yet the Durmand Priory have a giant statue of him in their library and revere him… and no ones gone about lynching the Durmand Priory for revering Abaddon instead of Kormir…

No need to think, just play Flashpoint. Best part is you can beseech Balthazar to summon the hounds of Balthazar to fight the hounds of Balthazar while yelling feel the fires of Balthazar.

Warrior: Can quick stomp and has lots of stability
Guardian: Has lots of stability
Theif: Can Quick stomp and stealth stomp.
Ranger: Can quick stomp multiple times. Has stability via non-transform elite.
Engineer: Elixier S stomp + stability
Mesmer: Stealth stomp and quick stomp but not as good as theif (long cds)
Elementalist: Mist stomp and stability.

Necro: Shroud stomp + stability (with 30 point trait in a not so wonderful tree)

Our problem is that stability with Shroud isn’t inherent or at least more accesible. All the ‘slow stomping’ classes (Guardian, Engineer, Ele) have loads of stability. We don’t. in fact we have some of the worst stability access in the game and our enemies know it. When they see you are a necro you can expect to get chain knocked around. Especially now since certain Anet changes have resulted in a proliferation of Hammer Guards/Wars. Against competent WvW teams you will spend entire fights on your back from the Ele/Guard team up. Necro/Guard is good too but Ele brings their own stability, in addition to the guards as well as better survivability too.

The amount of teleportations the thief or I think Daredevil has is ridiculous.

They dive back and forth between stealth and teleporting somewhere else it almost feels like hacking.

I play warrior and sometimes it’s downright absurd.

If a skilled thief can explain to me how this works, I’d like to know.

Essentially I want to learn what the build is, since it’s so common and cheese, their weapon/utility skills and general rotation.

The wxp gain from killing enemy players scales depending on the length of time that individual has been alive; so an enemy that dies repeatedly will be worth 1-2 wxp and one that dies less frequently can be worth up to 60.

Its honestly the only system designed for wvsw that does makes sense. So lets not talk about changing it mr OP.

Return us to what we were. Dont even bother changing a thing. 7secs sos, vp as it was, dont touch anything after that, i dnt care if we’re still middling dps or worse. Leave Reaper alone and move onto fiddling with scourge.

If a new mechanic isn’t going to be using what’s offered in the trait, considering it’s for necromancer core, that trait should be updated to include additional features instead of removing things from it to dampen build diversity. There are many traits even still across all professions that are very specific. I guess in their arguments, a specialization is a bigger deal than the general, bigger depiction of the profession’s main mechanic?

If the change was for scourge, fearing how the mighty e-spec could have gained “incredible powers” with Desert Shroud’s CD cut they should have just swapped Relentless Pursuit with Speed of Shadows and buffed Relentless Pursuit to remove (on shroud’s activation) and cut duration of movement imparing conditions.

I like this suggestion a lot. Relentless Pursuit is now very similar in purpose to the new SoS.
Changing it to shroud CD reduction + MS would be nice…gives Reaper a lot more synergy…

This is exactly what needs to happen, stop punishing shroud builds because it was the fastest solution to an upcoming issue with the new elite specialization.

Its not about camping, its about proper rotations. The nerf on vital persistence ruined the synergy with a lot of traits therefore delivering a big hit on a lot of builds. VP is also necessary to keep up with the current meta.

The Speed of Shadows nerf-to-end-all-nerfs was delivered quietly at the end of the Necro section.

This is what it used to do:

Increases movement speed while in shroud. Reduces recharge on shroud.

Miscellaneous effect.png Movement speed increase: 25%
Count Recharge.png Recharge Reduced: 30%

WHAT A MESS! Where’s the petition? Fire the balance team!

This nerf was worse than the VP nerf imho. Or rather, the nerf to SoS WITH the nerf to VP is just ridiculus. Not only do we have less shroud time, we lose the ability to access it more often.

The synergy with SoS and the other skills is what really hurts my playstyle.

Because knowing Anet, Triple Ultimate Dominator will make rainbows come out of the bloody footprints. Quadruple Ultimate Dominator will make tiny dancing Quaggans riding unicorns on rainbows come out of the bloody footprints. Quintuple Ultimate Dominator will make the tiny dancing Quaggans shoot tiny kittens in pink skirts that also vomit rainbows.

Build Sets

Being able to set up a “build” for your character so that you can quickly switch between traits and class-specific options while out of combat. There would be 3 slots, with perhaps the option to purchase more build slots per-character from the gemstore.

Why This Is Important

Many times, you encounter different situations in gameplay that would benefit from different builds. As a mesmer main, one of my best examples of this is a general combat build, vs. a “jumping puzzle” build where I reduce fall damage and increase glamour skill time for portals, and a focused boss DPS build, all of which use different setups. Another example would be revenants who want to switch between DPS and support based builds.

Currently, to do so, you have to stop, then dig through every specialization and trait line and set it manually, and have some recording of what your previous build was if you haven’t already memorized it from the number of times you’ve had to switch back and forth. Especially if you also need to swap out gear, this can take several minutes.

Implementing this would make life a lot easier for players, and would be greatly appreciated. While I’m not expecting this “pronto,” it’s been requested long enough and frequently enough (some of the first posts in the quality of life suggestions thread include this) that it ought to have been on the dev’s radar for a while now.

Please add build saving/loading to the game, and you will have a lot of grateful players.

or ad it passively…. one of the best part of power reaper is jumping in and out of Reaper shroud to counter the burst that flies in your face + gaining mobility…..

10 sec just feels freaking unplayable on a power build x.x
