If you cant WvW on a medium armor class – whether it be in a zerg or otherwise – that only mean one thing. You are a mindless meta zerger. And thats fine. Its ok. Zerging is fun too. Not everyone have to consider tactics or independant fighting techniques.

When you know how to actually use your medium class and how to move around your zerg, it become a powerhouse in terms of flanking manouvers. Thieves are very fast and can pummel strays, engineers are durable brawlers and rangers can support both. All three got tons of stealth to move in and around the backline.

When your main commander squad approach 50 peeps, simply leave and tag up yourself. Only thieves, engineers and rangers on self sustain builds welcome. You dont have to command, but the ability to set a common target in the back and have a sizeable force converge on it can be quite distracting to a zerg.

I’ve thought about refreshing siege as part of participation too before as an incentive for people to do it but there are also inherent problems with abusing that too, for the moment I can’t think of something that might prevent it unless there is something like 1 refresh per siege for it’s countdown duration (so individual cannot spam participation) per tower/keep/area (this would be tricky in open field so maybe only applies to siege at keeps, towers or sm). Maybe someone else can figure a better way to implement it. In the end I think just leaving it alone as is and just educating the players is the way to go but this is easier done than said because people get lazy over time, see it happen frequently. In the end I can only trust myself to do it and only a handful of people which cannot always be there. I think this is ok in a way because it’s up to the servers players responsibility to do it, and if they don’t they risk things by not doing it (I’m seeing mostly the server loyal people doing it). Newer players don’t care though but they do love pulling tactivators that’s for sure…

I concur. The changes were all very postive and I do hope that some of those new players remain. It has changed quite a bit as there always seems to be more people around no matter the BL.

Completely agree. Wvw has been a ton of fun since the patch, despite the huge queues at times.

Although, I find the entire pip system pointless. It will be popular for a month or two, and then the players who truly spend all their time in wvw won’t give a hoot about it, if they ever did.

I am no hardcore wvw player. I am just casual and low level, but it is the main thing I do. I already find the entire pip system pointless. (Ok, some of the guild decorations are cool, if your guild is into that)

Maybe when the loyalty bonuses actually happen, and someone gets a free legendary, then I might go, “WTF!!??!!”

All kidding aside, I think that the wvw update has been very successful, overall.
It has brought a ton of people out into wvw.

Now, if they would just update and add some servers to handle the lag of the added players…..well, yea, that would be cool.

I am very happy with the adrenaline shot WvW receive, and not surprise in the least of all the griping lol. Don’t see how anyone can deny things are way more exciting and on HoD we have seen an enormous influx of players. One improvement I would like to mention is making refreshing siege count towards participation. Also don’t cheapen the achievement, the new backpiece should be a privileged item earned thru hard playing and countless deaths (preferably other player’s deaths);.

It’s not discrimination. It is rewarding those who’ve played wvw for years. Why should new players, who might leave wvw altogether when they have their rewards, get the same amount of pips as those loyal to the game mode?

I welcome everyone new to wvw, and hope you find it fun, but you have to earn your ranks and rewards like the rest of us. Wvw has been neglected for ages, so it is past time for those of us playing this game mode to get something from it.

Please remember, someone else’s rank doesn’t take away from your fun and rewards. Stick with wvw and you’ll get there soon enough yourself!

Edge of the Mists ruined WvW the first time when it was given all the same rewards as the regular maps and in some cases, like badges, better reward opportunities. Edge of the Mists should be secondary to the main 4 WvW maps. If you give Edge of the Mists the same incentives as the regular maps (which they did in the past), then no one will feel motivated to participate on the regular maps. If Arenanet has learned their lesson with Edge of the Mists then they won’t make Edge of the Mists compete with the main 4 maps. Queuing up still gives you the opportunity to work on other things in the game while you wait, perhaps you could work on PvE content while you’re in queue.

Think about your necro. And then think about how much it revolves around lf gain.

All the traits you put in LF gain. Running that Soul Reaping trait line.

I actually tried running a Dagger build with GS – A bit of hybrid. You neeeeed LF traits. You need every single LF support you can cram in your build.

Do you know why they havent changed this? Why LF is so not easily attained on more than 50% of the class? I’ll tell you.

Anet doesn’t play necromancers that often. When they do. They run the same LF support on their builds. So it doesn’t click. they think “seems all well and fine to me wahts this talk about wars can gain adrenaline easier than LF on necros? I have no problem.”

:D This game man. Cracks me up.

EDIT: I want to laugh about this a little more. So most likely in their minds they think “well on these other traits its more about gaining health. This should mean that they get nearly zero LF” Makes sense right? ONLY IT DOESNT lol Oh thats right. IT doesn’t make sense that you’re basically forfeiting your CLASS MECHANIC lololol kladfj;alskfj to get some healing. I just can’t man. I cant evennnn. Does any other class forfeit their class mechanic because they started to stat more in life gain or damage or pure bunker or anything like that? No. Just necromancers and life gain. Its so broken.

Hello guys.
It’s a lot of months that there is this bug,where you teleport and it takes 2 minutes to loading screen,and after that,you cannot see friendly and enemy armor , and all NPCs become invisible.

To get out of this bug,you have to change map,or relog.
Now…with this ques in WvW it’s just a death sentence….u get bugged,and you say bye bye to WvW for the day.

Since it happens to me a lot, i wanted to ask:Am i the only one still getting this bug?
Or are you still experiencing the same,so it means it’s not my PC fault and it’s an Anet side problem?

Easy Necro deaths is what we get when Anet decides that we somehow need plaguelands instead of a survival button that was actually useful for us.

They could have added Plaguelands as the missing Well Elite for Necros, but they removed one of the best sources of sustain available to them and replaced it with more DPS, which wasn’t really needed.

Really poor move.

Necro DPS is fine – above average even – just hard to land it with the endless stunlock and focus fire.

Necros need some more stability – revert the nerfs to RS3. Maybe add stability to Spectral Walk. Bring back Plague at the very least.

Revert the nerf to Rise – just test out some small changes from a defence/stability standpoint – no need to do anything drastic.

Some other small sustain buffs would be good.

I can agree with this statement, although as a PPKer more than a PPTer, I also agree with more PIPs pending on kills, however BvB isn’t something that myself or a mot of PPKers I know care for due to the imminent lag (either general or skill)

Anet move the pip system to eotm. You are utterly ruining wvw even more than when you released HoT. Let the blobbers and ktrainers go to eotm and grind there. Real wvw isn’t a place for that. The only players that are having fun are the players that have 50+ man blobs on every map and are able to just run over everybody else and PPT.
But hey if you were trying to turn real wvw into eotm you did it, good job. Now you can shut down the eotm maps to save money for your dying game.

No…wvw will settle. EOTM is not wvw and doesn’t deserve wvw reward.

Now don’t get me wrong, but I enjoy GW2s pvp system, its pretty unique and down right fun. Heck I even walk away from arenas I’ve lost with a smile on my face simply because I had a fun time either way.

However, I’ve played countless mmos where my main focus was pvp. There was 12sky, WoW, Rappelz, 4story, the list goes on and on, but I’ve noticed an issue that Anet hasn’t addressed and that is how horrible necros really is in pvp. Take WoW for example. During WoD even after it’s nerf I was still able to run Demo Warlock and at times out damage the dps classes and out live some tanks.

As of right now necros is not a class I can do that with. I usually find myself getting utterly spammed and stun locked by every other class, but never another necros.

Sure it has nice condi damage if your rotation is good. Sure your can run a power/precision build and get some damage in, but that’s where it ends.

You have no way of truly kiting, you have a total of 2 cc abilities at best which last a duration to the blink of an eye to other classes and forget about trying to tank damage cause every other class can either prance around you and down you or lock you down and turn your adorable full health bar into the dark zone in a matter of seconds.

Don’t even get me started on that fail of a reaper shroud. Yes it’s nice to have a panic button or a finisher button for when you just need to squeeze out a bit of damage to down and kill your opponent, but it doesn’t last very long when it’s gone in almost an instant when you’re dealing with 2v1s which some of the other classes seem to have an easy time dealing with so long as they’re accustom to their class.

Don’t get me wrong it can be fun at times and enjoyable. Just earlier today I was hitting 300k+ in damage from conditions which put a smile on my face until I started playing against teams that weren’t blind, unaware, and wasn’t crazy enough to wait until I finished my full rotation to put pressure on me.

Any class can easily lock you down or do your job better than you. Guardians seem to never run out of boons and share a common trait with warriors which is never ending knock downs you cant avoid. Engineers and rangers out range you and while the engis have their turrets and that annoying asf non stop knock back you either try to charge through to kill the engi and get put down or you run get shot in the back like youre in south central, but the rangers like to play “I can hit you while my pet interrupts you, but you cant hit me” game. Revenants even have a game of their own they play which I imagine is “I can out live 3 of your rotations, but can you outlive 1 of mine?”. Elementalists with the right build tend to put on a poker face as if they’re taking you serious, but deep down inside theyre laughing at your attempts while healing and tanking you (I’ve literally faced and ele who 1v4d me and my team mates and we couldn’t down him….tf) and lastly, but sure as heck not least you have thieves and mesmers.

Now I do understand that mesmers have a high learning curve and I respect that…..but good ****ing lord how the heck do you decipher which clone is the actual player? Maybe I’m kittened and don’t notice that theres 1 with blonde hair while the rest have pink, but I’ve faced a few where the clones seemed endless and I literally couldn’t tell what was a clone from the player and by the time I even got them to half health I was dead….would be nice if necros had some sort of defense like that…..and no…..reaper form doesn’t count.

Thieves oh you glorious sneaky little devils. I love performing a dua with one, but I absolutely loathe having to fight one. Out of no where you’re stunned, you try to stun break, youre immobilized, you get out immobilization with %50 health left and you cant even retaliate cause it seems like theyre gone, then out of no where low and behold it turns into an Eminem song with guess who’s back and before you can even hit a keybind your back at spawn.

Every class seems to have something special about them that makes them tick, stand out, and gives them an amazing advantage over other players if they utilize it to their full potential.

Necros on the other hand…..I mean yet again theres reaper form…..I guess…..I mean the 4 seconds of grace period when youre getting focused is nice……I guess.

TL:DR PvP seems to be horribly broken and imbalanced especially when it comes to a class which has so much potential in which the developers doesn’t care to even slap a Band-Aid on

The amount of spam has literally pushed me on edge of uninstalling a few times.

PvE or PvP guys, you have enough stuff to farm. Moreover, its MORE rewarded than WvW, so please – DONT cry. Its not for you as same as PvE or PvP ist not for WvW players.

IMO some kind of movement ability or stealth is an absolute minimum!

Well given that shroud 2 has been a movement skill in both baseline and reaper, its almost guaranteed to be a movement skill again. Not sure why some people keep clamoring for stealth though. Seems like its in demand for the sake of demanding it.

But… How can we pop out of nowhere to give someone a fright if we don’t have stealth? Ain’t we supposed to be one of those scary monster that show up in horror movies?

NB.: That thread merging troubled me!

No core profession should be balanced around an optional elite specialization.

I agree GW2 has the most unbalanced and nonsensical PvP I’ve ever played. It breaks so many rules of good PvP in an attempt to make itself unique that it is an unholy mess. Classes that can build to have great healing and burst damage through traits and skills while others classes have to choose one or the other, warrior stun locks until death, perma evade thieves, rangers with more stealth than thieves, near unkillable sustain engis etc. The list of ridiculous aspects could fill several forum pages, but hey it makes great e-sport, lol.

As someone who played a very broad spectrum of competetive games for about 20 years i can say CCs arent the issue in this game. We have ways to deal with CCs, like swapping uttis for that extra stunnbreaker etc.

The main issue is the lack balance between risk and reward. A lot of the builds have cheap ways to be succesfull. There is very little build up and skill required in quite a few cases.

“big hits " should require

- Build up. For example: a combo string of landed moves leading to that 1 major dmg move.
- Be relatively hard to hit. A slow big telegraph move for example or a move that has to be aimed precicely.
- Coming from a super glassy build that takes a huge risk getting in to a position to do that dmg.

Since we lack the above in quite a few cases the game feels really super shallow. Ppl can run in to pvp and be relatively succesfull by cheesing it. I can hop on a class i dont play a lot…switch to a super cheesy build and kill ppl that played their respective builds for 1000+ hours.

There isnt a competetive game on the market where that is possible.
