That just sounds like the BG recruitment for wvw gone wrong … come stack on our server so we can win…. but dont do it in pve :P
Guesting is a feature.
On a side not I would like to thank you mark for taking the time to answer some of our question. Nice to see what you guys have to say even if its just to say that you don’t have an answer or that something is being looked at
Darkwood Legion [DARK]
Yak’s Bend
Most of the zergs couldn’t even follow me tonight, I was ducking in the small alleyways and circling behind them to pick off stragglers, I got caught a few times but had way more kills then you would before the new map. Maybe its being in a balanced teir (1) but the buff changed hands so much it wasn’t even an issue.
You’re a thief. You’re supposed to be a cheap class and use your broken mechanics to get away.
I don’t see how this changed with these map changes..
The buff will be an issue since the majority of the time it will be in the hands of the zerg. Also, larger server means more people are available to capture those points so this mechanism rewards players on big servers for..paying for the transfrers to those big servers..huh..funny that..
as long as people remember one thing.
Need an additional map, but instead say “you don’t HAVE to be a thief”
Still liking the new map. but the buff ehhh not so much.
Since Devon already said they won’t change things unless people stop playing…
+1, not gonna play the game even.
The only question I will ask is, will Devon look at attendance beyond T1 ?
I was actually hoping for a more exciting Shatterer. Y’know, not just standing left, pressing 1. But it was same old, just took longer. -_-’ Harder is good, more tedious isn’t.
Increased health pools are just lame, look at HotW.
[DV] – megaboss community
Yeah, Last night I did Maw and Shatterer, and neither were in any way better. They just took a bit longer (maybe 150% as long for kitten, 1000% longer for Maw), but I felt no more threatened than usual in either fight, and it just was more boring.
Claw actually had a few changes, he seemed to use his Fear more often in the first fight, and the avalanches are backwards now, but it wasn’t actually any harder to do (might have been with less people).
ANet should follow a simple rule when trying to buff a boss mob: Do not raise their HP. If they have to raise their HP then they’ve probably failed at something else and should fix that instead. Making a fight take longer makes it LESS fun, not more.
At least now people actually have chance to make it to event once they see grawls are attacking. Good thing shaman fight lasts longer than my loading screen, i will probably be able to get there in time now.
This isn’t how I would do it. If they want to make the event take longer start to finish, the best way would be to make the Grawl portion last longer. This way, peopl can do all the phases of the event, rather than just the last phase. Ideally they would also buff up some of the middle phases when you have a lot of people, like instead of spawning six shamen and a bodyguard at all times, spawn a ton of them when there are a ton of players, and make some vets, and the currently vet guard into a champ. Make that phase take 1-2 minutes instead of ten seconds.
you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be
done by now.”

I support this. Tired of the same old cycle:
1) People complain that the game is too easy
2) Anet promises harder content – Aetherblade Retreat, Candidate Trials, Liadri, SAB, world bosses
3) Players don’t believe Anet “Bring it on, it is still going to be easy, GW2 PVE is so easy”
4) Players don’t finish the content on 1st try and cry for nerf.
5) Anet nerfs content.
6) Back to 1) and repeat cycle.
Liadri, Trials and SAB relied on solo peformance. I did it quite fast. Liadri took some wipes but I made it eventually. AB was a 5 man content, it took me few days to find 4 other decent people but once I did, it was like a fractal run. New Tequatl? The problem is not about the boss, the problem is about the 100+ zerg which faces him. There is nothing I can do to make this zerg work. Best thing I can do is rage on map chat and that will fail as well. I wish I could play on Blackgate. But I cant. Only hope for me is that some decent EU server will emerge which can beat him at least once per day or two and then spam-guest it. Good design? I am not so sure.
agreed but please add a chain of events that triggers a summon rather than random times. <3
These timers don’t make it easy, but I think 15 minutes is too short.
Thats what they do in GW2 if something needs to be harder they just make it have a billion HP.
They should have addressed this issue before even implementing Teq.
Biggest problem with the game for me by far. I hate how this game handles conditions. It honestly feels like Anet doesn’t even acknowledge their existence. It’s ridiculous.
Since this forum is being archived, we are moving the discussion to the main forums: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Condition-Catastrophe/
With the implementation of genuinely difficult content, the neglect of condition builds has hit a breaking point. The Tequatl fight perfectly signifies this in two major ways:
1. Bleed cap is hit almost instantly. I am lucky if I can sustain one or two bleeds throughout the fight.
2. The fingers are completely immune to conditions.
Even against the adds, bleeds are usually close to capped or capped. Admittedly, condition builds do perform better on adds than they do on Tequatl and fingers, but the problem is the same discrimination doesn’t apply to power builds in reverse (i.e., power builds aren’t strong against Tequatl and fingers but weak against other adds).
This just can’t stand anymore. An entire build archetype is effectively useless on world bosses. There is simply no way the bleed cap and content that’s designed for 80 players can coexist.

I also find it ridiculous how some loud-mouths cry for raid-like difficulty in an open world event.
In addition to your arguments the game-engine is much to limited, add this to your list:
- no cast-bars on boss-abilities
- no tuning of optical effects possible
- condition-damage is screwed with the cap
- skill-lags
- crap rewards compared to raids
Basically it´s like Anet tries to arrange a Formula 1-race with trucks – in a water-park

can we nerf it now?

Sea of Sorrows killed him, here is the screenshot for proof.
That’s because there’s a staff guardian there.
People would still rather get easy loot, the less moving around, planning and teamwork involved the better. “nerf dis pl0x” seems to be the phrase of choice. Glad you guys are enjoying the challenge.
Don’t support the Gem Shop, it’s that easy.
Let’s complain about the difficulty 20 minutes after the update!!!!!!!!11one!1.
No.
Give people a chance to learn the fight before you start complaining.
While I do agree that a hard counter should not exist in this game, truth being that stealth is already a hard counter to practically everything. In WvW 1v1 against a roaming thief, the best you can go for is a draw. Killing a good thief is impossible. That’s not acceptable.
To put in a hard counter against roaming thieves is a bad solution to an equally bad problem.
In my opinion, the superior solution would have been to make the thief shimmer, leave footsteps … Something to keep him visible, but only to people who pay proper attention to small details. Another option would be to make stealth break on particular effects such as blasts, fire, roots … something that allows a good player to place a skillshot aoe. Currently there’s absolutely nothing to outplay an invisible thief.
Is the sniffing a good solution? No … I agree. But stealth is a broken mechanic as it is currently. One hard counter on one specific pet for one profession is hardly a nerf.

If we are in fact really outnumbering you guys, you’re probably gonna have trouble against IoJ in the lower tiers. Though I cannot believe that most of Yak’s and some BP have actually showed up for fights in this match-up. Unless all our transfers did exponentially; rating-wise, increase our WvW population…
Honestly, now that I think about it, we seem to be able to have a queue in EB almost always and manage to put queues on 2 BL’s almost every night. I guess I just thought that BP and Yak’s was capable of the same. You guys were really good at jumping around BL’s to intercept us when we did not have the transfers that made us think you had a much greater population.
You’re the current bandwagon. Gz. Every post I see from SBI reads like a carbon copy of those from SF, Kain, DR, etc when they thought the were destined for success. The results of 7 weeks of gold league wake up calls will determine where your server will end up. Assuming anyone still plays WvW by that time.

People come to the forums to complain, go to the official forums for any game and you’ll leave under the impression that the game is doomed/dying/dead and the developers eat children for breakfast.
WvW is the mode which maintains the largest long term player base and the mode around which the majority of GW2 communities are built.
Should the developers focus on this games strengths to maintain long term success? Yes.
Is GW2 getting updated faster than any MMO in history? Yes.
Don’t let the forums get to you too much, the negativity in these places can be misleading.
It doesn’t have anything to do with forums. Truth is WvW has gotten worse and worse patch after patch. In terms of class balances as bad and delicate as it was we only had steps back off a cliff. In terms of siege we had the ridiculous AC buffs. In terms of rewards we had more and more rewards for map flipping while no incentives whatsoever to roaming / defending. Roaming became more and more pointless because of the ridiculous rewards and the screw up in balancing the classes.
Now you pretty much only see big zergtrains spamming 1 moving from map to map to flip points and many, many times, people don’t even turn around to fight because that would make them miss the big PvD rewards.
And the upcoming patches are scary as hell, with the threat to kill what of the competitive play remains. If there’s nothing left at all.
truth is if the combat system / gamplay is truly awesome and fun the actual mechanics/contents are boring and senseless
I wish anet balance WvWvW around WvWvW not tpvp.
For Anet, WvW is simply supposed to be training wheels for PvE’ers as they move towards sPvP (esport!). The actually don’t really care at all about WvW as a game mode in and of itself, and it shows in their actions.
It’s just too bad because the open world PvP that is WvW is the perfect environment for the “play how you want” mantra — just look at the diversity of play styles that people discuss in these forums (zerging, sieging, GvG, roaming, soloing, duels…). There’s something for anyone who has even the smallest interest in PvP. That’s what makes WvW fun.
But Anet’s tunnel vision regarding sPvP (esports!) is killing the only truly valuable PvP property they have — WvW.
It is doomed, but only if you read the forums. Everyone else is in que.
What queue?

A shorter queue than normal that is.

The Problem is that Arenanet does not understand their own players. For them wvw should be a casual zergfest. They simply ignore everything that´s around organized combat. Their idea of wvw is a lot of people running brain afk after a guy with a blue sign above his head running from siege to siege. In case you did not see it already, i recommend this video from Sacrx https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7MN2j-CRdc . He pretty much sums up the mess wvw is in at the present state.
Watched a Vid the other day of a LS Warrior on Youtube, was amazed at the damage per swing, was seeing 3000, 4000, 2000, per hit rolling… Was like, wait I have a Exotic LS on my Ranger… 300, 200, 600 (oops my pet hit the target), 300….
I was like… oh nice. How in the world is this even right?
