Yeeeah, I have a friend who’s a rather strong feminist.
Does she lift?
I shuddered to recommend the game to her after seeing some of the endgame outfits. Masquerade was the worst offender by far. Or maybe it was the craftable harem outfit.
My girlfriend’s response to the Ancestral outfit was basically, “Would buy if it didn’t have a boob window.” I wonder what the net change in sales is due to boob window addition?
Perhaps ArenaNet will one day create this as a natural experiment for us: load two identical versions – except for boob window – and see which sells the best.
I think a simple solution would be to have a piece of cloth where the chest window would be that would be toggleable by the shoulder hide/display, maybe add a dye channel in the shoulder for it, that would please everyone, maybe.
The thing is it’s not like there aren’t options for non skimpiness. I gotta say most of the gem store armors aren’t very skimpy at all.
It seems like devs respond only to useless topics like this and doesn’t care about giving response to anything important. Never before I’ve seen such aproach to customers. Sad.
I reply to writing and VO threads when I can, including critical feedback posts, since that’s my area. Is there something story related that you’re concerned about, or is this comment more about other feedback (balance, gameplay, etc.) that isn’t being addressed? Remember that we read the forums often and reply when we’re able. A respectfully worded post gets a lot more attention than vague complaints.
I kind of feel like a dev word about the incredibly scarce chaos of lyssa recipe is extremely desired, with numerous threads being created about it. I know it was mentioned on stream that it’s droprate is fine, but seeing as it sold for 1k and 2.5k, that isn’t precedented and is disheartening.
This is the wrong thread to discuss that. My advice would be either to post in an existing thread on that topic, or if one doesn’t exist you can create a new one.
Exactly, but that’s another thing, there are at least 7 threads about it, some older than this one. but I appreciate your time, thank you
Maybe we’ll get new classes in the next expansion, but that might be awhile with the China release. I always enjoyed playing the Ritualist in GW1, I’m just not sure if they can really recapture the same unique flavor it had before. Since all our main skills are tied with weapons we probably won’t be getting to use full bars of spirits like we used to. With the current skill/trait system I’d imagine it becoming something entirely different than what we remember. Also, they would need to open Cantha back up as they don’t really fit in with the current lore.
As for the Paragon/Dervish I didn’t care much for either of those. Guardians are basically a combination of (Paragon+Monk). There may even be a little Paragon in Warriors with Shouts/Banners. Dervishes were pretty cool with the Avatar Elites, but from what I can recall they were completely unbalanced. I would love for them to bring back Scythes though. It was the main reason I would choose Dervish as my secondary profession.
Dervs were kind of broken with pve skills, paragons as heroes were completely broken though, and if you had a warrior/para welcome to damage reduction!!!! !
Rits play style is pretty much entirely encompassed by engineers. You have the turrets for spirits, tool bar for many of the channeling magic type attacks, they have a lot of access to support- elixir gun, healing turret, many combo fields, healing bombs, etc. and the kits kind of act like bundles. To me, I don’t think we’ll see another rit, but I’m not going to tell you to stop asking for one.
you aren’t going to get any information about recipes from a writer
I didn’t say it should be from him either. But seeing the frustration I, and many others, have felt trying to farm this, with thousands being opened in the first few days with only a handful being aquired so far. Please, try to see things from our perspective. It’s kind of heart breaking

This almost makes up for how ridiculous the overall set looks. Almost.
Still not getting it, as someone who mains Charr characters.
Really? I mean I get not liking it… or getting it. But as a Charr main you’ve got to be happy that there was an armor designer who gave some kittens about Charr and gave their male outfit a totally unique feature. That’s never happened since the beginning of the game.
There has always been two versions of townsclothing, even for Charr.
There are other armors that modify the tail – Orr medium, cultural T3, just off the top of my head.
Like I said, the tail bit is really fancy looking – what Charr player doesn’t like further tail accessories? The problem is, it’s an outfit. No mix and match, and I abhor the rest of it.
But they are not armors that were released after launch. My point is there hasn’t been anything like it for Charr since launch, that there was a detail made specifically for Charr
the zodiac armor has the zodiac effect on it’s tail
I’ve never seen it, because I’ve never seen a blue Charr. But okay. I stand corrected.
As well as ascended and the recent armor sets, the rampart and the rest that came out at the same time with it, include tail wiggle with their armor.
On a semi related note to this thread, I kind of wish the charr, and asura, didn’t have the chest gap. I feel they could just add a piece of cloth there bound to the hide/display shoulder toggle that would make everyone happy(some people just don’t like skimpy, i get that)

I am one of those people who say enough of the dervish has been encompassed into guardian. but as time goes on, I notice, they could, gameplay wise, make a return, especially if they had auras and could remove their auras, as it stands eles are the only with, outside of runes, that just have skills that give auras, everyone else can make their own via combos. but yeah in terms of lore i don’t think dervish would keep the same name if it were reintroduced, as they were a human only profession. And then balancing them, even in terms of base stats and armor weight placement. But I do feel there’s room for one more profession, even if it’s not a returning one.
I have to agree with ProtoGunner. I’m not really a fan of underwater combat, just because of how much it needs changing, many of the skills are kind of buggy, multiple projectiles often miss point blank, many professions are near useless underwater, I feel like swimming down should have had an already in place hotkey, there are more points, but i can’t think of them. It’s a shame, underwater combat could have been really nice.
they actually removed almost all of the water because it’s not well done. it needs revamping.
Honestly i feel engi does encompass a lot of the rits play style, turrets for spirits. a few really good spike damage for the lightning attacks, and they have probably second or third best party healing/support
Thief is not Assassin; it’s just a baby version of it. Anet hasn’t given it the things it needs to Evolve into it’s final form.
Why, cause it doesn’t have perma shadow form that makes it uber tank? I think I’ll pass. Thief is everything that assassin is, and more.
yeah, now they can perma stealth instead. assassin was a much better class even on paper.
Wouldn’t you say though that a shady thief class that can stay stealthed all the time makes much more sense than assassin that can tank infinite amount of mobs?
except that was a specialized build that was brought on from additional skills. Also didn’t work in pvp at all. but i guess i have to discredit that second one as different games, with different pvp. but I will say, if shadowform was an elite in gw2, it wouldn’t be perma upkeep. I feel stealth is a pretty mediocre mechanic, as it’s really only used in pve to skip past things and in pvp and wvw to cheese.

Some of these weapons just aren’t very good.
Claws and fists are really only useful against unarmed opponents, anyone with a proper weapon has a huge reach advantage.
Sabres are useless against armor (they only became popular when firearms rendered armor worthless).
Spears and pole arms are great weapons, but are too slow for single combat. They are used best in formation. A scythe is a farming implement. You’d only every use it as a last resort.
Crossbows are very powerful, but very slow to reload. (Although, early firearms technically have the same issues).
Cannons, WTF?
No one who has ever used a chainsaw would seriously consider using it as a real weapon. Chainsaws are heavy. You can’t use a chainsaw long without resting. Chainsaws are subject to gyroscopic forces, which makes them dangerously unpredictable when moving. Swing a chainsaw around and you’re about as likely to cut your own head off as someone else’s. Lastly, they suffer from “kickback”. Cut something with the tip of a chainsaw blade, and it will kick upwards, which is a good way to lose a face.
hey i want you to grab a dictionary and look up fantasy.
Look at the date of the posts.
Save yourself the heartache.
It isn’t happening.
Even if it does, there will still be no new WvW or PvP content, or more areas to explore in PvE, so there won’t be a reason to log in to use the new weapons.
Living story 2 has been confirmed permanent content. and all likely hood going into maguuma.
Orpheal, they’re kind of looking like they’re going the route of impossible to balance anyways.
we’ll get bunnythumping rangers once more! also, if a necro ever gets a hammer, I kind of expect it to get marks, or one at the end of an auto attack. I actually ran hammer necro in gw1 pvp, and it wasn’t as efficient as assassin hammer, but I still kind of miss that.
1 favor out of 500 Chances. Guess I should have checked forums on the drop rates before hand. Hah.
Any idea if the Chances are different if gotten from t3 boss or t1 boss?
they stack so i don’t think they’re any different.
Chaos of Lyssa has nothing to do with the Boss Blitz and only drops from the Gauntlet Chances.
This. only available from gauntlet chances.
Bottom line, bad game design is bad game design—no matter what people come up with to compensate for it.
what exactly is bad about the design? it’s not anets fault that some players can’t use simple thinking to figure out how to effectively do something.
one thing i’m curious about, all the gauntlet chances stack. meaning you can fight a tier one with 4-5 gambits, and get the same reward as a tier 3 with the same amount of gambits for the same reward. That i don’t know if is intentional
I think it’s a very important mechanic to try to get people to understand. they don’t want people zerging
honestly, I felt nade engi was the easiest way to kill her last year, and I don’t know why, but this year, I agree with you, bombs are the way to go.
no, you can hate the zerg, if there aren’t enough commanders, don’t tag up. it just takes a functioning brain to realize, hey we’re supposed to kill them all at once. if you zerg, you don’t deserve much. i mean you can organize it during the wait of the funds. it’s not hard.
ranger is one of my easier fights against liadri. i just use both bows and the fight isn’t nearly as hard as you make it out to be. not engi easy, but still
nope. i’ve been farming my home nodes every day, and i still get them after the patch
they are a rare addition to when mining them.
yeah, orswich, you’re right. but on paper, having a zerg of people split into 6 doesn’t sound like it should be that hard, yet it is.
uh just throwing this out there, you’re not supposed to zerg this. gold gets you 8 bags and 50 tokens. and 22 tickets. I mainly do it for the tickets. it’s great fun when there’s organization to the server
I’ve gotten gold on a server 5 times in a row. the inteded method is to have 6 commanders split up and kill them all at the same time. and you’re supposed to kill the healing turret. it’s does require too much coordination for randoms, but the server i got into had heaps of tts people
as i’m sure was stated before. there is no grind for anything necessary. Leveling curve is absolutely fine, and exotic gear drops enough. As for fractals and ascended gear, that’s a bit of a grind but it’s not too bad, especially if you enjoy eotm
I’d like to point out they still have to finish world 3 and fix world 2. I understand why there’s been a delay in it’s release. coincidentally, I absolutely loved sab, but because of the clocktower, i’m not really fond of the team that works on it.
Speaking of how much I loved Liadri, she’s from the Mire Sea, the krait tower in mount maelstrom. I think these 2 are immortal. It would be awesome if they were hidden npcs in gw1, but I’m fairly certain the wiki is for gw1 is up to date.
Uhh, on a related note, kind of. Liadri is from the Mire Sea, that’s the krait tower in mount maelstrom. And Suriel the blazing light is from somewhere in orr. these people are immortal or something, no wonder they’re powerful
I loved the liadri fight. I thought she was a great npc, and would like to hear many of the contestants backstories and see them in future living story developments.
and Denovean, if underwater combat was ever tweaked to be more fluid and had some balance changes, an underwater pavilion thing would be interesting, probably even fun.
I really don’t understand the obsession with borgs, or where they even came from for this thread. but we’ve told you numerous times, the dwarves will likely be part of the game when we face primordius, and they will be stone. And as for it taking place while there’s the lull in content, 1 it’s a lull in content for a reason, they’re busy and the point was ignored because of that and 2. more released areas deserve some effort
I thought it was later explained those dwarven relics were brought by the dredge. There was that whole dredge event, and for some reason i thought it was explained there.

aaaaand another that can’t read……PLEASE read the post before just snipping it, you might have a kick from not looking ridicules like you do right now.
Ok, and this thread really may as well get closed then. Dwarves were exlusively in the shiverpeaks, and there are no nonstone dwarves in all of planet tyria. Glad we solved this
lol, where does it state they are exclusively in the siverpeak?
no really, i love to see the sources you get your info from, i have looked everywhere on the internet about anything “exclusive” dwarfs related but you might have a source somewhere that officially states what no one else knows.
The dwarves were created in the shiverpeaks and did not expand out of the shiverpeaks, that is, until they ALL underwent the rite and became stone. After which, they went further underground as well, to battle primordius.
I beat her. The fight still represented everything wrong with GW2 combat.
That would be underwater combat. the fight itself was fine.
Most of the bugs could be easily avoided by guesting to a low population server, taking note of which arenas had centered aoe. The camera never bothered me at all, probably because i realized it was wonky fighting my way up to her and learned how to adapt to it

Yeah, at this point is just people wanting dwarves to be more prevalent having selective reading and saying the same thing. This thread may as well be locked.
But in short, dwarves will be seen more when we fight primordius. They are all stone.

Liadri was one of the best things the game has ever introduced.
No, wrong. The account wallet, wardrobe system, unlimited gathering tools, and account-wide magic find are just a few things introduced that are far better than that boss.
Sure it wasn’t put out that well, over a pit of zerg so it did lag to heck, and the arena wasn’t quite tall enough so the camera fought against you as well; however, the gauntlet was amazing and heeps of fun, it wasn’t all just a dps race.
At least you acknowledged the camera and lag issues. However, it was mostly a DPS race due to one hit kill attacks rendering toughness and vitality a moot point, as well as there being a timer stressing one to kill the boss quickly.
It was great solo content that I wish there was more of. It introduced many of the games existing combat mechanics in a decent learnable way. Don’t get me wrong, doing the 8 orbs on liadri was a huge pain and pretty much a dps race, the satisfaction and cheer were great, and the money from all of them, even after the change, wasn’t bad
No. No, no , no. The queen’s gauntlet can stay as is, but no more cheap gimmicky one-hit kill bosses. There are too many as it is.
I play the game for the game. The accound wide magic find was nice I guess, but no. The gauntlet was just a lot of fun for me. And I will still argue up and down that liadri just required attention, and just the standard fight wasn’t necessarily a dps test.
But yeah, an’t argue against the release being poor
No. No more. Bosses with cheap one-hit kills are not fun or needed in this game.
Except the one hit kill was patterned and easily avoided, so, that’s really an issue of skill. As for people saying warrior was the easiest, I’d argue engineer and guardian were the easiest, but out of that, i only beat her with thief, warrior, ele, and ranger. But the engi just being able to throw nades behind you or drop bombs where she’ll obviously walk over after her shield is down, was a cake walk of a fight.
Except not always. As a mesmer if the cosmic rift spawned on the other side of the field from me I can not physically reach it before it fires off, so it then becomes a 50/50 chance if I was pulled into death or not, and there was no amount of skill that helped me there.
Liadri wasn’t hard, Liadri was cheap. There is a difference. I’m all for hard bosses, but i’d like it to be better than Liadri.
Use Blink…
yeah, that teleporty skill mesmers have. kind of a requirement for the fight i’d assume.
The rite didn’t happen all at once, I believe it was the movement of the world that said the Stone Summit, evil dwarves, had to undergo the rite eventually, but that most certainly didn’t happen during eye of the north. Actually, I forget if the stone summit were inherently evil, they did enslave dredge but now they’re doing that to themselves, or if they were just deeply territorial. I’ll have to look it up.
The problem is, you have selective reading. “The dwarves are a !!!near!!!-extinct race of short, stout humanoids made of stone.” this is an entirely accurate statement. Every single dwarf is made of stone now, even the women and even the stone summit; Ogden is stone as well.
Not to mention, it’d be pretty weird to play as a near extinct race. to see at least half a million players with a dwarf character, kind of wouldn’t make sense. That last statement is also my top argument why Largos shouldn’t become a playable race either. A seclusive race that few have ever seen, up until they become playable and suddenly you have half a million Largos running all over Tyria.
Dwarves are dead, Largos are few (you’d expect) and shunning contact with land-dwellers. Both would require a ludicrous amount of retconning to make them playable.
My 2 pence are on either Tengu or Kodan or something new Anet come up with depending on where an expansion introducing a new playable race takes us.
I hate to agree with you on the largos, because they are so neat in appearance. My money is on tengu, with hylek being a fever dream. I can’t imagine trying to work armor for them

That lies with an inherent problem of mesmers, honestly i’d say they were probably the most difficult class to use against her because of this, lack of mobility. Blink would be virtually mandatory against her, for just that occasion, maybe even portal for her second phase to escape her and quickly go between aoe fields.
And something I forgot to mention, at least half the arenas were actually bugged, but it was consistent. By bugged, I mean the aoes didn’t line up properly, they were off center. That was actually kind of a serious issue.
