One person in my guild got a precursor as did two from the overflow I was in that I know of one of them was Dusk. There’s no way the drop rate was that low when just about everyone had a guild member or several who got one.
I agree except for your base statement, that GW2 was not about losers and winners before this event.

People are able to loot pre-cursors: one lucky loot and BAM, they ‘won’ and everyone else lost.

In fact, this is the only game that I know where this winner-takes-all principle is so extreem. In most games you have a slow progression towards stuff like legendaries.
Here, people that are lucky get thiers for 200g cheaper…
In short: this game has always had a very, very strong lottery element with much higher gains for the lucky few than in other games.
Except it doesn’t cost you anything to open a chest, combined with the fact that chest had a high chance of giving a precursor. In general people waste a LOT of money in the mystic forge. I wouldn’t exactly call it luck getting a precursor after well over 100g of combinations.
They should have stuck to the GW1 event formula, it worked so much better. Although I feel the chest should only have been lootable once per account since people in certain timezones were able to do it multiple times.
Phase 1 had bugged out NPC’s. Phase 2 didn’t even trigger in LA on the overflow I was in. Phase 3 took far too long and ended up feeling tedious. I admit that their events have a lot of potential but sooner rather than later they’re going to have to release one that isn’t broken from the start.
How is this even a complaint? You’ve mad because you didn’t get a piece of the loot pie? That’s you’re fault, not Anet’s (even if you had a good reason not to be online like being at work). People were complaining that last event’s (Mad King) loot was crap. Now they give us some good stuff and you’re complaining? “I didn’t get it so nobody should get it!” You’re being silly. Get over yourself.
(Not that this is coming from someone who DIDN’T get a precursor)
So people with real life commitments should be left out and it’s their own fault? The event should have repeated for 24 hours but made so you could only open the chest once per account.
My only real problem is that people in some time zones could do the event several times on different overflows with alts and get an even bigger chance of getting a precursor or maybe even two. Europeans and Oceanic’s for one couldn’t really repeat it or even take part in it simply due to the time which is extremely unfair.
This forum is filled with people just searching for something to complain about, omg. Arenanet makes this AWESOME event, with rewards that people have dreamed about since day 1. Precursors in a boss chest. Now more people have them, and can make legendaries. I didn’t get one, I’d love to have one, but I think it’s great that people finally got theirs.
Also the price went down A LOT because people were mass selling them. But as there’s so much demand and not enough supply the price will go back to it’s original price soon.
We need more events like these to get the precursor price down, so more people have a chance at legendaries. Good job arenanet, don’t listen to these guys complaining, they’ll complain about getting free precursors in the mail if they can.
Never mind the fact that the entire event has been a buggy mess…
I must admit it made me feel a little sick seeing the amount of people who got precursors and all I got was a generic greatsword. But on the bright side it will bring down precursor prices which was really needed.
That doesn’t necessarily mean its gone, try logging out in WvW. Does the same thing, and last time I checked WvW is still there.
Except you were able to log in and out of the clock tower instance. Besides it clearly states in the build nots that only the NPC’s that give access to the “Attend the party” achievement are still around.
Jeweller for me, all of the needed materials are easy to come by and the only thing I needed to buy levelling it from 0-400 was a few bits of copper ore. Cook and Artificar were also pretty cheap
Have you checked Queensdale? There should be doors with pumpkin icons all over the map. Besides I seriously doubt you would be locked out of the event just because you didn’t do act 1 content.
Well I live in South Africa, thers not much I can do about lag since I’m very far from the server. Does this mean its impossible for me to get this achievement? I cannot get passed half way without being kicked out. If I can’t get this achievement I can’t get the Emissary title. Which seems a little unfair..
You don’t need to complete it for the Emissary title.

Sounds like you want it to be easier to me. Plus as I already said I know people who have had no problem completing it with an Asura, just adjust to the “technical” issues like everyone else has to because ANet won’t change a thing.
A lot of people have completed it, so there’s no chance it will be altered. Just because YOU can’t complete it doesn’t mean there’s a problem with the way it’s designed. It’s supposed to be challenging.

I did read it, all you’re doing is whining because you’re not good enough to complete it. I know several people who have completed it with Asuran characters who overcame the other problems you’re talking about. Sure there are a few technical tweaks that could possibly improve it but nerfing the difficulty is just plain stupid.
However, I am at a loss about It’s a Mad King’s World. I figure it’s about exploring, but now I’ve been to both the labyrinth, clock tower, Lunatic Inquistion and Reaper’s Rumble, and my count only says 2/4. Anyone completed this and/or know how to/where to go?
I’m assuming that the other 2 zones for that achievement will unlock in act 3.
This puzzle isn’t hard. It is designed absolutely terribly. I can easily complete it if I get lucky enough to not have the norn warrior zerg who think it’s amazingly funny to grief people in this map.
It’s not hard. It doesn’t need nerfed. It needs FIXED. And we should complain about broken content as much as possible, otherwise A-net will never do anything about it. Remember Shadowform?
You don’t have to see your character do complete this, it’s just a matter of rythm and timing.
Or consider all the other players part of the challenge as well.
Agreed, once you know when and where to jump you can pretty much do it from memory alone. Besides most people fail before half way anyway.
This is the problem with gamers these days, so many of you have no idea what a challenge is. Modern games are so easy to complete that just about anyone could do it. Personally I’m happy to be challenged again like games did years ago.

I beat it on my human warrior without speed boosts and it took me about 2 hours. Although looking back I can’t believe it took me so long because once you get the hang of it it’s really quite easy.
I had absolutely no problems with lag or disconnections for the first 3 weeks but all of a sudden I now have terrible lag as well as getting this code on a regular basis. I have no issues with any other online games even when I’m on North American servers. This is clearly a fault on ANet’s end.
