I only need one reason to vote Kiel. The only good Charr is a dead Charr .
Stop living in the past, meat.
I’m not I’m stating the truth .
I only need one reason to vote Kiel. The only good Charr is a dead Charr .
I have thought about this off and on for awhile now. ANet already stated that they did not want to have two classes that were too much alike – and that is where the issue with a 3rd plate wearing class comes in.
Like others, I cannot figure out a class that would be different enough from warrior and guardian to count as worthy of being a new and separate class.
I also love the idea of polearms and other two handed large weapons though… so that’s a start perhaps.
It would be really cool if they could combine the ritualist from GW1 into being some kind of heavy class instead. Not sure how that would work… but summoning spirits (not spirit weapons like the guardian, something closer to the pet mechanic maybe? Or if nothing else make them minions like they were in GW1) and wearing heavy armor while using giant two handed weapons sounds pretty amazing to me. Might be tough to implement in a balanced way though.
I came up with this idea a while back that doesn’t really fall into War or Guardian in my opinion.
A class that would use offensive and defensive skill sets per weapon set up kind of like attunements . each set up would also grant the chance at boon or to inflict a condition depending on your set up.
Weapons would be as follows
Main
Sword,Axe,Longbow,Hammer
Offhand
Dagger,Shield,Sword,Mace
A possible example might be
Sword Dagger offense grants a chance at poisoning a foe on dagger strikes and is purely offensive where as Sword Dagger defense grants a chance at stability every so many seconds and has more block/evade skills
On a side note a heavy doesn’t even have to be a melee class per say . The Paragon from GW 1 was a heavy and it was midlline
From the Wiki
“At one point, Divinity’s Reach contained a Canthan district similar to the Ossan Quarter. The district was removed late in development because NCsoft received negative feedback from the Asian gaming markets, who were uncomfortable that Chinese and Korean architectural styles had been mixed, damaging the possibility of a Canthan expansion.”
and on the grrat collapse
“The Great Collapse is an area located in the western part of Divinity’s Reach. Before the area collapsed, this was the location of the Canthan and arts district. There are conflicting stories on what happened the night of the collapse. The Shining Blade blame the collapse on hasty construction and claim that there were warning signs weeks before the disaster. Accordingly, they took steps to work with the Seraph to evacuate all residents from the district. However, many locals never mention that the Seraph were involved with protecting the citizens, and along with this, Riot Alice says that her father died during the collapse.
There are also rumors of strange noises coming from the depths of the Great Collapse, which locals associate with the pre-existing rumors of drakes living in the city’s sewer system."
So the lore does in fact dictate that there was a Canthan district before the collapse happened.
Yes identity theft is a great idea…..
Halberd-War,Guard,Ele
Crossbow- Theif,Eng,Ranger
Flail-War,Necro,Mesmer,Guard,
I decided to use GW2buildcraft.com and test 30 power vs 30 precision straight up . ( No armor, weapons etc )
with 30 trait points in power
Power 1216
Precision 916
Effective Power 1364.35
Critical Chance 4%
Damage 10%
Condition Duration 30%
with 30 in precision
Power 916
Precision 1216
Effective Power 1195.3
Critical Chance 23.29%
Damage 10%
this pretty much tells me that you have to seriously gear into Precision to beat power since those 30 trait points only give you a 23.29% chance to crit and thats what your banking on with precision more than anything else .
If you guys are going to keep taking this thread off the forums I will keep posting it. If you ban me I’ll get my friends to post it, if you ban them I will get their friends to post it. Get my drift? Just fix it and and make this game epic like you promised over 10 months ago.
You honestly expect your friends to gt banned on your behalf? Thats a good one man.
If they raise the level cap they will have truly abandoned the idea of this game being a Guild Wars sequel.
I did not play gw1 so I can assume they only made expansions for it without cap increases?
Correct . GW 1 has never raised its cap past 20 ( yes 20 ) and it did pretty well for itself. I should hope they never raise the cap past 80 in GW2
There is alot more area that carries on past the world map. You can see this map in the durmand priory place at lornar’s pass. It’s very possible the Dwarf survivors could be living in some far of place in the rest of tyria. +1 for dwarfs, no to elves
Dwarf survivors?
You’re talking as though something catastrophic and out of their control happened to them.Dwarves chose to become Stone Dwarves to fight the great destroyer and no, thats not the same thing as a Dwarf.
Saying a Stone Dwarf is just a Dwarf with stone skin is saying a Branded Human is just a Human with branded skin. The process of turning into a stone dwarf changes a dwarf physiologically and psychologically they’re not dwarves.
This is indeed correct . It is even mentioned by Ogden in a cut scene in guild wars 1 that the ritual changes the dwarves in body and mind which is why he he decided not to partake in it at first .
Where the Ritualist at? :P
Cantha so don’t expect them any time soon .
except that best is a relative term and not all classes in GW2 are built in a way that they can 1v1 effectively .
since you dont really care about your character just yet just delete it and you should be able to switch for free .
Dwarves are already in the game but all underwent the rite of the Great Dwarf 250 years ago turning themselves to stone so there are likely very few left .
As for elves the Sylvari are as close as your gonna get.Even the name is suggesting an elven nature as silva in Latin means woods and Silvia was a nature goddess .
like i said before why does it even matter if its guy or a girl behind the screen? Its like asking the ratio of white to black people who play shooters , nobody knows and nobody cares nor should they .
All for new armor. I would prefer more conservative on the women though but then again sexy doesn’t always mean revealing either so we’re not sure what the OP entirely means .
Pretty much yea
my question is why does it matter .
you still have the problem of the Derv drawing its power from the 5 gods and the fact it was strictly an Elonian class
well the problem with derv is that they were essentially a holy warrior and many of their skills reflected that by having names of the 5 gods in them as well as having avatars of them for elites . That as you can imagine causes issues as far as other races are concerned never mind the fact their teachings were restricted to Elona
From the guardian page on the wiki
“With the turmoil in Elona and the spread of the Order of Whispers into other lands, more Paragon teaching showed elsewhere in Tyria. These teachings melded with other traditions, and over time, the guardians and their abilities can be found throughout the world and among all the races”
In other words the paragon aint coming back .
The Guild Wars were over in Guild Wars 1 too, but that didn’t stop it from having GvG, AB, and, arguably, Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood representing a clan war your guild could take a side in.
AB FA and JQ were based on the Luxon /Kurzick split not Guilds so those are completely irrelevant to this conversation .
the Guild Wars took place between 1013-1070 AE between Ascalon , Kryta and Orr only ending with the Charr invasion . That event is what the game was named after . If we get guild halls then maybe you’ll see GvG but i wouldn’t expect it until then .
I personally think that at least the dragons need a fail state that affects the area if not the zone . For instance if you fail claw of jormag it would take twice as long to revive in the zone and you couldn’t revive at all in the area the fight took place.
A new mechanic for shatterer could be as long as he had his crystals up you would take heavy damage if you attacked him 9 and he put them up more often ) . Fail state would be DoT in the brand and branded are stronger
Teqatl fail state would be More Risen in the zone ( overriding some other types of foes ) and constant poison in immediate area of his fight
no you cant report someone for elitism . it is likely however they planned on using some sort of exploit for whatever path they were going to do next.
Is Massively Multi-player not Massively Single-player
In game LFG tools can only serve to help find groups easier and that cant be a bad thing. The fact that the 3rd party site GW2LFG.com has been used to troll people only serves as a better reason to expedite an in game LFG tool.
They said a while back why this isn’t doable but i cant remember exactly why .
Oh now you did it …you used the M word . It’s all down hill from here good job . the answer is no though lol
im personally rolling a D/D critical strikes thief which means a lot of precision
we can use weapons in our left hand in the game anyway, it’s a mace. A mace can be used in the off hand on warriors as we speak.
dont they have Axe and Sword off hand as well?
https://d3b4yo2b5lbfy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/wallpapers/GW2_GuardianWallpaper01-1440x900.jpg
This picture shows a guardian using a weapon in their left hand, yet I have yet to figure out how to make my weapon and shield be switched. People in my guild says it’s not possible and I can’t find anything on the internet showing how to do it. If it’s not possible then why did NC-Soft release advertising art showing a characters being left-handed? Wouldn’t this be false advertising? Because I get really dysphoric watching my character swing his weapon right handed to the point I really don’t think I can play this game.
how sinister of you to say such a thing
I would think Unique would be self explanatory ….
Im gonna pass on this . I dont think it would be right for us GW1 players to get more than we already have in the HoM after release .
Get 20 slot bags for all my characters
get all the bank slots
Give my guild leader a couple K simply because shes awesome
buy a legendary or 2
buy Gems up the wazoo before they get any more expensive
I’ve had one of each class almost since i started playing . save up your gold and buy the gems for another slot or just straight up buy the gems for a slot with real money .
After having read different sections of the forum. I’ve come to realize that players have a lot of issue (including my self) with how certain things are being run in game. The answer to all your problem is simple people. “Option -> Log off game”. Go spend time with your friends and family. I do it daily after logging on to see if any guildies online then log off if nothing happening
Yea but you cant respawn when you log out of real life and that creates a problem .
You’re only sitting there that long because you’re using the timer ( which can be tampered with ) event farming isnt all there is to the game .
Somehow i dont think when you swiched factions in Wow it effected
your skills
your home instance which is affected by choices you made during your personal story
your cultural armor
any armor you are currently wearing
so its a lot more complicated than you may think
you realize this will get locked without a reason why right ?
yes you are in the wrong and you clearly know it . As for the server I’m on sure we get people who ask about events and shockingly enough people are actually polite enough to tell them about the events .
i dont lag at all during the dragon events .
but it’s Dungeon armor ……
They could just say..“Incoming new build, don’t start anything important.”
I just had visions of Reboot with that. Warning. Incoming game….
haha i loved that show
Tengu are much more likely as they don’t seem to be quite as tribal as the others, and they haven’t had as much revealed about their culture.
Tengu are indeed tribal . We know of at least 5 from GW 1 Caromi,Sensali , Avicara,Quetzal and Angchu
Leveling in GW is faster than in any other MMO i’ve played and that’s saying a lot . As others have said do map completion on zones DEs and gather but another important thing to remember is your personal story you get a rather large chunk of XP from doing it.
So the mechanic was fine until you got your new job? Very interesting.
Of course, but how else to realise an issue until your circumstances change and it becomes aprarant.
the only issue the OP realized is that it wasn’t convenient for them to dally any more .I can guarantee you there are people out there with the same time constraint that still get them done. They are fine the way they are
because it would change
Your skill set
Your Personal Story
Your home instance would get really screwed up since the decisions you make in your personal story affect your home instance .
So the mechanic was fine until you got your new job? Very interesting.
then get arrested
