People toss the word “hacking” around too frequently these days without understanding its meaning/origin.
Accessing a game account or even an email account for that matter is the equivalent of Identity Theft or Social Engineering.
“Hacking” is blatantly accessing a single computer system or network directly in order to access the data or use the applications/services. So unless you are running WOPR to play GW2 or read your Gmail.. you weren’t hacked.

I’m curious if any players have found things in GW2 that made them stop and think: “Is this based of a real thing?”
Is there a time (other than other player discussion) that the game itself taught you something you would have possibly not learned had you not played it? And at what point, if any, have you every looked up something to see what it was referenced. And if you did look it up did you learn and retain any knowledge from it. I’m only asking because I’m genuinely curious on how much the devs put into the game that players pick up on that references real world situations places or things. And Arenanet people are welcome as always to point out anything specific they did on purpose or think we might find interesting. I love learning little tidbits in game, I understand it isn’t an educational game. However I feel like if I can acquire zero real life knowledge from a game, I find it less appealing. Simply learning game mechanics or story just doesn’t feel as rewarding to me. Looking up “Moa” or “Norn” online after encountering them, lead to interesting discoveries. So I’m curious if anyone else has done this.

I don’t think i’ve ever had this issue but If i’m going for a particular sound I’ll use a name site for said ethnicity . So if im going for a Scandinavian sound i might do something like Karl Jorgerssen or Aså Haggberg

Its all dependent on your build . If your rolling a tank crit chance isn’t really a factor but if you want to take someone down fast then your gonna want a fair amount .
Can’t you do Dailies from within WvW? I mean, for the most part, at least 3 or 4 of the daily objectives are doable in WvW.
its completely dependent on the dailies .There’s only 1 guaranteed WvW daily all others you kinda have to hope are doable in it if you are primarily are a WvWer . With that said I don’t exactly see ascended gear as hard to get if i really wanted to get it .
Rifle turrets overcharge is closest you’re gonna get . Its essentially what the original Gatling gun was anyway
other than vet killer monthly and meta events like Maw and SB? well you have the sonic periscope monthy this month and of course you have daylies such as shiverpeak killer that tend to go by faster in lower level zones .
I wouldent call Gandaran huge but the 300 barrels is a sizable amount . Sottz is the hardest to find even for a larger guild however so probably not the best example to use . You mentioned Sparkfly where Crusader Michelle is so we’ll use them . you strategically place those 8 across the zone and search counter to the route you will find them sooner rather than later . Asking if people have seen a bounty is never a bad idea either . You take the resources you have and use them wisely , end of story.
You what that tells me?That tells me most if not all of those 8 got their Dungeon Master title using broken or exploity mechanics and now that they face a challenge cant figure it out . Quite frankly though i would think bounties would be easier to find cause once you know your targets you can swarm a zone in all areas of their route which is posted on line.

No and quite frankly even if you could it would be a mistake you need all those extra skill points for Mystic Forge recipes and who knows what else down the road .

Its a form of Griefing which IS covered under the TOS . The problem is that its being done through a 3rd party site so its a trickier situation . A very large portion of the guild i am in actually had the very same thing happen to us a while back but it’s been remedied now .
Honestly I’ve leveled faster in GW 2 than in any other MMO I’ve played bar GW1 .Dont forget about your personal story that can actually give you a fair chunk of XP . Between that map completion and events it goes pretty fast
