The champion rotten Oakheart in Queensdale in an example of a particular case of npc that resets if taken away a ridiculously small distance (you have to circle it on a 1000 range of its spawning place to solo it).
But, besides particular cases, the mechanic is working as intended, as it should, and this is in no way a bug.

New content means new items in gemstore (weapon and armor skins, minis, backpacks…), that the fanboys will rush to buy. That’s their current income source. So there’s no way they slow down the pace and care about polishing and de-bugging the game, because that would stop their income. If you don’t like the business model (and, hey, I don’t like it either), you can just move to a different game. You’ve alredy payed for the game, so if you’re not spending real money in the gemstore to buy new items each 2 weeks, you’re just a cost, not an income, and Arenanet will be happy to let you go.

Probably, rather than doing other events, going out of the map and coming back in should grant you the chest again. We’re not 100% sure how it works, but there’s a stealth nerf on bosses so you don’t just “camp” for those events.

It’s a general issue with transformations, from a couple of patches ago. We expected to be fixed in this patch, but Arenanet is too busy with permanent pvp finishers to do anything with bugs.

It’s no longer treated as a stun, that actually causes interrupt. It’s a meditated decission, so don’t expect anything there.

It’s not random. It happens while stuck in combat when a cinematic starts. Example: running into the final boss room in CoF path 1. This has been reported number ot times, no fix in this patch… complete shame.

It’s not getting fixed. They changed fear (meditated decission) two patches ago, to make it work as a condition but not be treated as stun any more.

And it’s a complete shame on Arenanet. How could they release a patch after a month of this issue coming up, and not fix this? What’s their excuse? They were so worried preparing a stance that would collapse the economy of the game that they didn’t have time to make sure the game itself WORKS?

That is not a bug, that is just how projectiles work with everything in the game. If you don’t want clones and phantasms taking the hits then don’t try to shoot through them or use a piercing projectile trait.

How dare you! Hitman is not to waste traits on piercing projectiles, or movement or energy on correctly positioning for accurate shots! His skills should dodge anything in his way and bend its trajectory until they reach the intended target.
It’s only fair, he’s he after all.

As Kisanth said, meditated decission. Wouldn’t make “logic” sense getting benefits from a transformation, when the transformation has finished, and they intentionally fixed it to make the game match with that.

Rampage is not a boon. It’s a transformation. The transformation time is fixed, like any other skill duration. You see extended duration for the boon asociated to the transformation, stability, but it’s fixed to the transformation. So regardless of boons modifiers, it will go away on the time it has to.

Yep, quite often with yellow items. I’m a little supremes no one on the test servers has noticed this yet,it is quite obvious.

Forget the testing servers, the fact that this has not been noticed by the developers suggests that they don’t play their own game.

Or that they don’t lose money with the issue.

Just curious… was the fractal skin on an exo? on a rare? Because if you transmuted the fractal weap with a masterwork/rare/normal, you wouldn’t be getting a warning in any case, would you?

It has happened to me say… max a dozen times in these months, and not like I’m very willing to test; but I would say it’s not a requisite to have played during a lot of time, or have any other specific routine, and I have a pretty decent cooling in current comp. I would say it’s automatical on double click on taskbar, irregardless, something esential to win7 x64, and something else I might have shared between comps (or just my bad luck).
Didn’t send any ticket, as you can imagine sending ingame report is impossible… I came straight to forums to try to gather more people’s experiences before reporting something in particular.

My old laptop was an Acer Aspire 5520, but running on x64 instead of original x32, and many specific drivers missing (windows default ones instead), besides the geforce ones.
New desktop is 16GB RAM, i5-3450 @3.10Ghz (so, BY MY BALLS this can’t be just a heavy traffic issue, happening to me and not to most of people) and geforce GTX 650 Ti.
I’m pretty sure this is a problem related to win7 x64, and an unknown factor that I ignore, that is making this problem not general… but pestering me across computers.

I just tried to reproduce your issue without success. I minimized GW2 and then double-clicked on the taskbar icon. Each time the game just went back to full screen and everything worked. I tried this a good 20 or so times.

The interesting thing is a little bit later I alt-tabbed to look up something on Dulfy and when I went to alt-tab back to the game (no clicking on taskbar) my system locked up.

When yours locks up do you wind up with a black screen with a GW2 window titlebar at the top of the screen constantly flickering? I tried ctl-alt-del to bring up task manager to kill GW2, and while I was able to eventually get the ctl-alt-del screen, and was then able to click Task Manager, when it dropped back to the desktop everything was still unresponsive.

So, there is some sort of race condition happening, that much is for sure, and it is not specifically related to double-clicking on the taskbar. Hopefully some day a dev will take a look at this issue. However, that said, I would imagine it is not a common problem, and could be related to any number of other conflicts with drivers on our systems.

My only reason for saying to single-click on your taskbar is there are a number of people who double-click on everything, even if they don’t actually need to. By not double-clicking you will help prevent this issue from happening, which is why I suggested to take more care with your double-clicks for now until the issue is fixed.

You reproduced the problem I had pretty closely then. Flickering gw2 titlebar included. But happens to me when accidentally going for double click in taskbar, never happened while alt+tabbing.
As I stated in the beggining, has happened to me in 2 different computers, a very old laptop and a very new desktop, having in common only that I run win7 x64… so I must be REALLY unlucky to get such an uncommon combination of conflicts, if people are not having this per norm…

I’m using 64-bit Windows 7 and have never had this issue. I alt-tab out and come back in again multiple times when I play the game. If it was something serious affecting the way the game was programmed, it would affect more people.

Just as a matter of interest, why are you double-clicking on the taskbar? Single clicks are all that’s necessary there, could that be causing problems?

Genius you are. I start a topic about how double clicking on minimized gw2 on taskbar stalls the computer enough to lose any control over it, and you (all by yourself, without anyone else’s help) figured that the problem might be… double clicking on minimized gw2 on taskbar! I take my hat off to you.
And if you think I’m doing this intentionally, after reading the effect that this has while in win7 64 bits, you may be one of the greatest minds of this era.

Not sure why you responded to Lunawisp with such sarcasm. They are correct, stop double clicking on GW2 on your taskbar and the problem will go away.

When you double-click you are causing the game to maximize and then minimize immediatly. There is some sort of race condition that crashes the client if it is maximized and then minimized again so fast.

Yes, the developers should take a look at this, however, there is a perfectly valid work around for you in the meantime: stop double-clicking the icon on your taskbar!

You must have the same condition that made lunawisp tell me that, and get such an answer from me. If after reading my post you think I would do this on a constant basis or on purpose, you must be doing all kind of crazy things yourself!
Doesn’t mean it won’t happen to me occasionally… Last time less than a month ago. And it’s a ridiculously dangerous issue to be just ignored, I say.

I once wrote a TICKET to support to talk about a guy that EXPLOITED this “working as intended feature” (Arenanet), by exiting the dungeon instances he created as soon as he got the rewards, then laughing at your face about it and insulting you. You know what support answered? Something like “the use of this feature is discrectional”. So is up to all of us use it (or abuse it) any way we want, and if someone messes with the rest of us with it, Arenanet official response is a big “SUCK IT”.
So a thread about this mechanic in the bug subforum… waste of bits, and buries real important bugs to oblivion.

I know that necros can’t use swords, but still they still should be the profession easiest to get sword achievement …

Conditions are tied to players, not skills. If they were tied to skills (and players), they could make temporal curtain (mesmer focus #4) and symbol of swiftness (guard staff #3) stack swiftness.

While I was playing on my previous computer (a bit over the minimum requirements), I came to know Orr as “the land of the invisible enemies”. Great optimized game, whose engine prefers to draw little rocks and dry herb patches before enemies. Drawing enemies LAST, actually.

They also check the gemstore tab for the player. And if he has a commander tag. Those are free passes for using macros.
My experience: I was chatting with a very famous SFR commander, when he spilled a long serie of apparently random letters and numbers. I asked about him, and he admitted, just like nothing, that it was a MACRO. An attack routine. For those of you that don’t know the official Arenanet policy about macros, it’s resumed in: one key on the macro can only do one command in the game (a keystroke for a keystroke). This guy had a macro doing automatized routines. I screenshotted it, sent a mail to Arenanet. Automessage: we find this not to violate the code of conduct. I insist, wtf else do you need? This guy is flagrantry cheating according to your own policy! Automessage: we reviewed and we don’t find proof that there is any violation bla bla.
Tl;dr? Buy a commander tag, then you can macro to cheat and bot as much as you want.

Have you by any chance the Last Stand trait on your warrior? Because having the stability activated by this trait during a harvesting results AUTOMATICALLY in ruined mats. That was quite the surprise to me, since you seem to be able to pick this trait specifically to be more resistant to aggression and be able to do quicker gathering routes, while it produces exactly the opposite: it negates you completely from harvesting on routes on which stability would help you speed up (such as Orr).
I was quite outraged and opened a thread about it, but of course anything that means making the game fairly rewarding/possibiliting farming is ignored/nerfed/screw-you by Arenanet.

That trait only activates when you’re hit with a control effect, which would have disrupted what you were doing anyway, but it acts like an immediate stunbreak of sorts. I’m guessing what happens is normally you’d be unable to finish mining and therefore could not receive ruined ore, but with the trait you get hit by the effect while mining, which is apparently enough to ruin it, then the stunbreak/stability kicks in so you stand there and keep swinging your pickaxe. I’d suggest if you suspect you’ll be attacked by anything with control effects while mining (and for whatever reason you don’t just kill it first) then you should activate stability from balanced stance or the dolyak signet, and mine with stability already up.

That is exactly my process of experience. I was trying traits and utilities that would agilize ori farming, and found this particular screw up on Arenanet. That of course refused to fix in any way.

It’s something that has been pointed out since the beta, as for the ridicule situation of walking down a slope normally and stopping DEAD on the bottom, but Arenanet has flagranty ignored us.
Maybe we should convince them to introduce a parachute in the gemstore for modic 600, to avoid getting killed in such stupid manners…

And for anyone wondering how Arenanet is going to answer to this, must clearly be new to the game and Arenanet schemes or plain dumb.
Take a look back at the Jormag Claw and his endless corrupted elementals dropping (as any of its kind) those nice corrupted lodestones. Now check what’s the drop on those event mobs. Finally, extrapolate to current case.

Botters don’t buy accounts, they steal them.

How curious. They steal the accounts from people that named theirs aserfs dfdfas asdfa sdfdsa aasdd and asdfffew, and they put them together in the same place. Seems legit.
They sure used accounts that have been hacked or lend, but they do buy lots of new accounts to keep the income.
