Bumpity bump bump.
Guild is now at 24 members and steadily growing. We now have a guild hall and RP stuff is starting to pick up!
My Necro tank has 31K HP and 2K toughness or somewhere around there. A Dragonhunter that locks me in the trap will kill me in about 2-3 seconds.
Sounds fine by me.
Solution: Don’t get locked in traps. I play a marauder thief and have no problem 1v1ing dragonhunters because I use evades and stunbreaks. They’re fairly easy to burst down with stun spam.
Not supporting the current state of DH though. It needs a nerf and a major one but I think for most people its a l2p issue.
Looking for a guild that is more than just a roster of names? Or perhaps looking to get some casual RP on but don’t want to miss out on things like raids and other content? Well, if so then you’ve come to the right place! The Eclipse Coterie [ECHO] is a small guild with the intention of being a social and welcoming close knit community. We don’t judge you based on race, gender, orientation, religion or anything of that nature, all are welcome (except haters, you guys can go lick a quaggan). We are a PvX guild based in NA with light and laid back RP and plans do weekly organized raids once the dust is settled.
What we currently have to offer:
-TS3 server, enjin forums, PvP arena, Lost Precipice guild hall, guild missions twice a week – you know, all that usual guild jazz.
-A welcoming and newbie friendly community with no plans to ever recruit over 75 members. Knowing everyone is important.
-Casual and newbie friendly RP. We’re not stuck up about it and do not expect everyone to be perfect, it’s just a game after all.
-LGBT friendly. If anyone hates on your gender or orientation they will have to answer to me!
-Lots of shenanigans. Weird conversations go down in TS sometimes. You have been warned.
We are still fairly new and growing, so we don’t have a ton of stuff going on yet but you can usually find a handful of us online and doing things in the evening. We do not require 100% rep but require that members rep during guild activities and participate in our guilds chat. So we probably won’t pester you if we see you not repping.
Contact Aguri.2896, FirsthandTuna.5409 or clixter.5940 for more information about the guild/to sign up or follow the website link: http://theeclipsecoterie.enjin.com/joinus

This would require too much work for it to ever be a reality, but I would love this. Heck, if anet would just start giving us 3 different faces again each time they release new ones I’d be happy.
[Spoiler] So when you first saw the end boss for HoT...

My reaction to Mordremoth from the story: Game sucks, isn’t even an elder dragon.
My reaction to Mouth of Mordremoth: Holy kitten this is awesome, best game ever!
What I want to know is if you are an all powerful, giant serpent dragon why you would choose to see yourself as Barney the Dinosaur’s creepy uncle in your own mind.
I would love to see this. Thief also really needs to get looked at, maybe this would finally convince the devs it’s in a bad place.
Sometimes people forget to click on the CoF tab before posting. Also, there is no living world tab just open world, which isn’t just used for open world content.
Calm down.
Thief main here with almost 2k hours under my belt. Don’t listen to those saying thief is fine, it’s not. You can play well but the class only has access to one type of play and has little to no support.
Literally any other class would be an okay choice. Some less optimal then others, but the others are all well-rounded and capable of multiple roles across all game types.
Bear in mind that there are only 400 hero points available in all of maguuma. If they left it at 400, a new character would literally have to map comp all of maguuma (the hero points at least) in order to unlock their elite spec.
You don’t think thats just a BIT excessive?
40 hero points technically, not 400. That’s not a lot and in a week there would have been detailed guides and an entire community dedicated towards getting them. This was an unneeded nerf and is turning the game into less of a game. I don’t want to play farming simulator, now I have less time to play explorer and more time to be farmer…
Should change the title a bit. You can’t just hint towards what happened, but then shove a spoiler tag by it lol
For armor crafting armorsmith and for weapons you’ll only need weaponsmith and artificing to craft every weapon you’ll need.
Do you mean which crafting profession? I am not sure what you mean, since revenant itself is a profession.
The elite spec for revenant is more support oriented with a lot of various boons for both defense and offense that you can share with your party. The engi elite spec is more selfish, but since engi already had ways of support before it balanced it out a bit. But if you want a supporty elite spec rev is the way to go.
Hmm… I would suggest make a rev and play both your rev and engi whenever you feel like playing either of them. The first one to hit 80 wins and you play that one.
Ultimately, the decision is yours. Nobody here can really decide for you. Both are well rounded classes, so you won’t have an issue playing different roles when you want either way you go. Unless you go want meta, that might make things complicated…
Haha! Looks like I am the first rev from launch to post!
Apparently my rev is a weremallyx.
the new launcher is simply ugly with all that green, hope they bring back the red…like it is now, and with that green login button, seems like I’ve won the spitting contest of Monkey Island by practicing on my monitor
Please no. I like the green, it’s so much better than the ugly red. Whenever I launch GW2 I don’t want to be reminded of my local super target.
emotional and satisfying.
WE GET TO KILL
PHLUNTTREHEARNE?!
Fixed.
214 for my three asuras and I think 170ish for my ranger charr.
Hopefully won’t take too long to get the specs.
Pffft, a true gamer doesn’t need food! Only caffeine sips soda
I would pay for a GW2 anime. As long as the story is better than what we have in-game, that is.
Hereos, part of a complete breakfast!
This must be what all the spoon collecting was for.
Elite Specializations & Hero Point Feedback [Merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Aguri.2896
Since they said it would be more difficult and costly to get the skins, which are at the end of the track, I assume it will probably be more like 250 for the whole elite spec. People with previously completed map completion should have around 214 hero points already, and since the ones in HoT maps are 10 points each you won’t even have to explore an entire map to get your spec.
I could be wrong, but that’s just what it sounds like to me. Even if you had to get the full 40 points, once you got gliding and mushroom masteries it would only take a few hours to get your spec.
Since this is in the lore forum I am going to look at this as a lore thing rather than a game mechanic. If I were to fly to another country and fly back to America, the return trip would NOT be free. I don’t see why it would be any different in Tyria, especially with the asura in charge of the fees.
Just doesn’t make sense.
edit: Just noticed the guy above me basically posted the same thing. kitten .
People need to stop looking at elite specializations as new classes, because they aren’t. They might be marketed as them but in reality its just a new build for your existing class that takes literally two seconds to switch to once you have it unlocked. If you wanted you could just equip the trait line and nothing else and it would still basically feel like the “old class”. There is also the fact that some traits and skills compliment the existing ones, which is technically adding to the base profession since, as I said, these are not new classes.
To me, the elite specs are just more skills, traits and a new weapon for my existing class with the downside that I now have a boot for a profession icon when using it.
You can’t wear the scarf with items labeled as outfits but you can wear it with armor skins.
So… GW2 is basically just farming simulator now? Guess I’ll have to look else ware to get my dungeons… fractals aren’t enough.
Really think I am losing patience for this game.
Here’s my ranger, soon to be druid. Just finished fashion warsing her today. Colors might need a little more work though.
All I want is for the thief class to be re-added to the game.
One time I joined a speed run group for CoF p1 that had 4 warriors while on my thief and was insta-kicked before I could even load in the dungeon. The funny thing is not only did they lose DPS by kicking a thief, after I finished my run with another group I looked on LFG and they were still there.

I can’t imagine wich proffession would Death the Kid play in GW2.
Can’t tell if sarcasm cuz internet, but definitely thief. Gotta have those dual pistols
Unfortunately he’d be screwed over by armor since 90% of it is asymmetrical.
Revenant/Thief and their respective specs. I don’t really have much of a choice to play rev since it’s the new thief anyways.
Oh gosh… the jokes that can’t be made because this is the forums. It’s killing me.
As a person with OCD and a fan of Soul Eater this post made me lol.
On a serious note, doesn’t the pet sort of count has part of the rangers health pool since in a lot of situations the pet can tank for the ranger? So, in a way it does have the highest health.
Tied between asura and charr here. Asura would be my favorite aesthetically no doubt if it wasn’t for the fact 80% of their hairstyles look like crap and it’s really hard to actually make one look good. With charr I don’t like them as much, but I can always make a good looking charr with zero effort. Asura and charr are both very creative looking races and actually look like believable creatures, not just humans wearing Halloween masks, that’s why I like them.
Sounds less broken than what I am experiencing.. my pets are perma stowed all of the sudden after the recent patch.
Just happened to me. A friend of mine had his disappear the day before.
I heard the solution is to go in water or die in water. I’m not sure which one.
It worked thank you! More specifically, you have to go in water and open up your pet tab and select your land pets and you will have them once you surface.
Yes I am in the US server. Also, it’s only affecting PvE – although I can’t use any pets from the beta in PvP still.
Sounds less broken than what I am experiencing.. my pets are perma stowed all of the sudden after the recent patch.
Humans have the most faces and hair to choose from out of all the races, and not enough k-pop hairstyles if you ask me. The problem is that humans in GW2 as a whole look very much in the uncanny valley because someone somewhere forgot that human skin has poors and made all the humans look like they are made out of porcelain.
More faces and hair is always welcome, for all races though. Hoping that HoT will bring some.
I briefly complained in another thread about mastery points, but I feel like ANet needs to hear more. Verdant Brink this weekend was so boring, easy and completely void of anything to do that my friends and I went straight to PvP after playing for only a little bit as opposed to some of us playing hours in PvE the previous beta.
HoT is NOT for the newbies. There is no reason for it to be this easy, or easy at all.
I’d like an androgynous face and a couple of attractive 40-something faces
This so much when it comes to the androgynous face. Of course we’ll need androgynous hairstyles to match it too.
I had a ton of fun trying to reach the difficult mastery points from the previous beta weekend. Now I could care less about verdant brink and its verticality because there isn’t a huge point to it outside of gating content.
Please change it back.
OP, if you are getting kicked from that many dungeons then it is NOT because ele was nerfed. It’s because you either don’t know how to play or run a horrible build. I haven’t even been kicked 1/4 of the times you have been kicked in my entire time of playing GW2 and I’ve most likely done more dungeon runs then you (5.4k hours play time here, 1k on my ele)
Also… from my experience ele is second worst when it comes to the number of buttons to press o.O I’d recommend a thief, not a healer but much less buttons…
(edited by Aguri.2896)
Not sure if troll post or serious… going to assume troll post based on the fact this is OP’s only post.
1. Herald – actually useful
2. Reaper – for the fun factor
3.Druid – also useful
I am a thief main and don’t even play necro or ranger…
Here’s my ele! The reason why she is wearing cheesy black and red colors is because I was going for an inquest theme. Took me weeks to perfect this look.
My warrior, Growl Feralclaw.
Hmm.. I’ve been to this thread a few times to see the awesome thieves but never posted. ’Bout time I should.
Here is my thief (and main), Nokkz:
(edited by Aguri.2896)
Hold on, I found out what the boot is for!
This post made the boot icon okay. Thank you for posting it, now I can laugh every time I see that awful boot lol
The boot is horrible, but all of the specialization icons are pretty bad too. Would have been nice if they played off the base profession’s icon and kept some identity of the class. Dragonhunter is probably the only one that looks okay because it still sorta looks like a shield.
