Hmm… says exactly 100,000 people play it. Seems legit. Nope not suspicious at all.
Drunken mesmer
Thats what it feels like when playing, it’s the clunkiest thing ever
Ah, I think Samurai is right. I was near walls almost all the times it happened now that I think about it. I hope that’s not intended.
I am also experiencing this but nobody in my guild believes me and thinks I am just using all my energy up haha. I noticed they seemed to disappear when there was lots of AoE around or CC abilities, can they be killed or something?
One huge reason why a fox tail and ears would not work in GW2 is because of the anatomy of some of the races. Charr already have a tail and 4 horns and ears taking up head space then there are the asura with their already large ears. And I don’t see anet locking it from those 2 races.
I think most of us can agree that eles getting warhorn blows.
Yes ty Anet for adding this wonderful NPC! Or well… changing them I guess. It’s amazing to see things like this getting visibility everywhere from our TV shows to our video games.
I do have one complaint though. For LGBT characters so far we have two main lesbian couples and one insignificant male homosexual couple most people probably never noticed, now the only trans NPC is also female. Next time a LGBT character is added, would it hurt for it to be a guy?
Not even a physical copy? That’s disappointing… guess I’ll just pre-purchase then :/ ty for fast replies.
As title implies, when are we getting to pre-order the collector’s edition if we are getting one at all? I want to play the beta, but I don’t want to buy the game now only to have a better version come out later so I am holding off on purchasing. Anyone have any thoughts/info on this?
SAB time is the only time except April Fools Day when I refuse to play gw2. its far too immersion breaking for my tastes. Keep your SAB, thank you Anet for not forcing me to endure it lately.
Or you could do what normal people do and you know, not play SAB and go do something else. It’s actually not immersion breaking at all if people actually realize that Tyria is technically in the industrial stage only with some futuristic elements.
How about they remove WvW from the game because it’s immersion breaking how we fight other servers. Plus, how can I run my dungeons with WvW constantly getting in the way?
Saw this post and had to comment as I have probably had 16+ 80s in my time playing GW2 (deleted more than half though, I am very picky and with GW2’s wonky character select I hate looking at the ones I don’t use so I delete)
First, I think Teleoceras is right about everyone being different. It doesn’t cheapen the game for me. In fact, leveling character after character over and over again cheapens the game for me by making me sick of anything even remotely related to character leveling. I found that by using tomes or crafting all me characters to 80 except for like 2 of them what I was able to do is come back years later and enjoy the low level zones again on my 80s in their full glory. Sure, it’s not challenging but I discovered things I have never seen before because I could just focus on exploring the world at my own pace and goofing around.
Then there is the problem with the new trait system. I like being able to customize my characters and the new system doesn’t allow that. For classes I haven’t played the first thing on my mind is “how do I play this properly?”. Getting to 80 as fast as I can is a way for me to instantly start experimenting and I learn so much better that way. For me a character’s right of passage is taking them through all my favorite dungeons and learning how the class works there (though not without visiting meta battle first so I don’t torment any pugs with my ignorance). That said, I’ve deleted most of my level 80s. I don’t think it’s because I’ve rushed them, because my main I crafted to 80, but I think it’s because I didn’t really like them in the first place.
Though I must say WP runs are the worst. Every time I get a character to 80 I have to run through Tyria and get EVERY WP because I like being able to, you know, actually use my characters… it’s stupidly boring and we shouldn’t have to do this every time we level a character. It’s pretty much the only drawback for me though. I haven’t had a problem with karma (1.5m karma screaming “use me, use me!”)
I have nothing against people who like to re-experience a game, but for me I don’t like knowing a character I really enjoy playing can’t join my friends in the silver wastes if I am feeling like it so I like to have them ready. I switch characters a LOT depending on my mood, so yeah, gotta be prepared.
Looking forward to playing around with my revenant in HoT itself so yeah, definitely using tomes.

I can understand why someone might think they can get away with using concept art but using an actual screenshot from the game? Just… wow. There are no words for this.
There are also at least two asura faces that aren’t accessible to players as well. These were used by some of the NPCs with the last SAB release, so that’s why they aren’t even in the game anymore. One of them looked really cool… I wonder why it was never used because these weren’t even important NPCs so there was no reason for exclusivity.
Going to search around to see if I can find a screenshot. Hopefully I am not imagining it lol
Edit: Found a link to the wiki page. Too lazy to post the picture directly http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ketto
From there you can click on the other three asura as well, apparently there were 4 unique faces that never made it to the players
they aren’t bad either.
(edited by Aguri.2896)
Its just a story arc. It has it’s own achievements and rewards though (mawdrey and the carapace armor set)
You can’t get your name back. The best thing is to think think ahead next time and don’t use profanity in your name.
I never implied that I thought you implied it was a good thing lol. I thought you were thinking that I thought it wasn’t a bad thing.
Yes Aguri, that’s generally true for Thief in PvP, but that’s not the only place Thieves are used. Also, what about SA line taking a hard Nerf with this bug or stealth rezzes or one of Thief’s few condi removals being severely hampered? Saying ‘eh, good thieves don’t stay in stealth that long anyway’ is completely wrong and nonsense. This is coming from someone that uses Necro/Mesmer for PvP BTW.
Plz fix this soon Anet. Why in the hell do we need 4 bug hotfixes after the very minescule patch/gemstore update today anyway?
I’m not okay with this. That’s why I said if it’s permanent I wont be. I’ve just gotten used to the fact that 95% of the time in PvE people ignore my attempts at stealth and either attack enemies or run through my SR/Smoke blasts… even if I give them a heads up. I don’t believe it’s good to take such a crucial part to thieves already limited party support away, but I’m saying I can survive a weak or two with it broken (it sort of already is anyways…) if I had to and that it’s not the end of the world. Also wanted to throw it out there before any PvP QQers that think that stealth is what gives thief their strength showed up.
As for the SA stuff… I can’t think of anywhere other than WvW where the SA trait line might be useful for longer periods of staying stealthed and even then it’s just for scouting and roaming since thieves aren’t really part of the meta there.
(edited by Aguri.2896)
I normally don’t stay stealthed longer than 3 seconds anyways in PvP. In many situations its a waste of time.
If this isn’t a bug though, I think it might be time to invest in new games because I don’t like the idea of already weak classes getting one of their few forms of party support nerfed.
I think what people are perceiving as unlucky accounts and lucky accounts is just a massive case of diminished returns.
I used to be a really active farmer, I would farm frostgorge and dungeons for hours daily back when it was the thing (and I would alternate between 8 characters to do so) and got no ascended chest for months, and months of regular playing. Now, I hardly do any dungeons and have only farmed a tiny bit in the silverwastes (only using about 4 characters now) and in the same amount of months I have gotten four ascended chests drop.
I’ve also noticed that my friends who are less active are always the ones who get better loot. So, basically play more = less loot. Which makes sense. If people will play your game because they want to farm for money and items, why give them any? Keep them farming, keep them playing.

I’m so sorry that you were born without a sense of humor. It must be tough.
Actually, your comment is the funniest thing since I woke up this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep.
You seriously shouldn’t troll people you know nothing about – you only make yourself look stupid.
And my point was proven.
Guys, you really need to cool your jets. Time will fly by before you know it.

I’m so sorry that you were born without a sense of humor. It must be tough.
I can’t beelieve this.
Unfortunately I forgot to take many screenshots. But I do have this.
I got an invitation! So happy! I’m one of those people who never gets picked or wins anything, so this blows my mind xD
Things like this make me honestly hope we never see a new race added to this game. Charr and asura have kinda been tossed under the rug :’(
@warbignime: I just closed my patcher and watched some youtube videos then opened it again. It worked then, not sure why.
@ Electro: Yup, they did do it again. But only with the asura and charr it seems. The sylvari had a nice selection of faces (no repeats) haven’t checked human and norn, but I doubt they would be neglected at all.
(edited by Aguri.2896)
Okay, I’m fine with no one fixing the clipping issues but the fact that asura and charr only get one new face re-textured a few times instead of three faces like the other races is just ridiculous. I was hoping the first time this happened it wouldn’t become a trend, but I see that it has. If I remember correctly, some of the NPCs from SAB release 2 had some unique faces that never got released… why not give us those? At least give us two faces…
Sorry for the rant-ish post, it’s just really disappointing to see races with such an amazing design wasted like this.
200-300?! Don’t give them ideas!
I’d pay for something like this though… only not that much. More like $20-50 maybe?
The human female and sylvari female will also have the female norn version. That’s the way it’s always been with most outfits. This is one of the few outfits where a female version for asura and charr would work though because it isn’t sexualized in any way. Such a shame.
This thread reminded me of one of the first GW2 screenshots I ever took. Fish head photo bomb. I didn’t know how to work my camera back then.
Just last night I was doing a level 35 fractal. We were at Mai Trin and kept wiping, all except one person. So I got bored sitting there dead, while being the only one wearing zerker gear. So I changed my build and equipped the only other thing in my inventory, my dire gear. We restarted the fight and just as I was thinking “Aw yeah and I’m gonna be so tanky now” I got killed in 2 seconds by agony completely forgetting that only my berserker gear had agony resistance.
I agree. With an expiration on how long I can glide I will mostly be focused on that rather than having fun and exploring. It also doesn’t really make sense because in real life when you glide you dont stop until you hit the bottom.
One thing I would like is being able to at least glide permanently at max gliding level, this way they can still gate content and give something people to work towards but at the same time give us the possibility of freedom within the air. This would also give people extra incentive to rank gliding.
I learn best by having all my skills, traits and gear ready and useable so I can learn all the various combos and synergies within the class. The way the leveling system is now doesn’t give people a chance to experiment and learn until you’re already high level. So I will definitely be using my tomes on my revenant, it will be worth it.
That’s pretty much exactly what I am going to do only with a sylvari instead.
This will not destroy any class – even thieves. And it will be good for the game mode.
What universe do you live in?
Thieves have very little versatility and survivability do to the fact that most of the utilities suck (venoms, traps, most tricks) and you want to eliminate some of the few things that actually do work in PvP? Everyone would be reduced to playing S/D and would never be able to SR an ally to rez them and do what a lot of warriors can do in an instant via banner.
A simple solution would be to change mesmer stealth skills to only effect a limited number of allies. Neither mesmer nor thief will be weaker in a fight and you won’t have invisible zergs running around anymore.

I honestly would not be surprised as the vines actually spread in real time. I will totally be logging in to check in a bit… just in case.
Below is my charr in a dress. I really don’t understand why people want more of this. Charr anatomy just isn’t made for human female clothes, and the same applies to asura.
It’s a nightmare trying to give asura and sylvari lore correct names these days. Sure, you could just use a title for asura but it almost always sounds bad and if you RP it hinders character development. Would be really helpful to people who actually care and play the game to be able to name their character without taking 2 hours to find a semi-decent available name.
(edited by Aguri.2896)
I really want to see more options other than hair and faces. Each time they add more hair/faces they are making customization more unbalanced because everything else is so much more limited. If someone makes a bunch of new characters of the same race, even using new features, they will ultimately have to re-use stuff. It kinda puts a damper on the excitement of new hair and faces.
Also, we did get new charr horns once (Rox’s horns) so it is possible. The problem with releasing things like this is the fact that some races will be left out. You could add facial hair for male humans but the women would still be left out.
The only thing special about the carapace armor is that it’s a unique skin that you can only get from the silverwastes and LS. You can buy sinister inscriptions and insignias from bandit crest vendors and I think laurel vendors sell the weapon recipes for ascended at least. Don’t know about that canyon though, sorry.
Only 25 gems? What is this sorcery?! I’m a little afraid to buy them… it seems too good to be true.
It’s located in the Straits of Devastation east of the Bramble Pass Waypoint in a small cave. Follow path past Crusader Kalan and look for a cave entrance covered in vines. Hope that helps some.
I think this would be good if it’s something lower level players can access. When I first started playing I was mostly pressing random buttons and hoping for the best, even well after hitting level 80. Eventually through enough forum lurking did I become aware of what I was doing wrong but nothing in the game give me any clue as to what I was missing out on. I didn’t even know combo fields were worth anything until I heard of ele might stacking.
I agree with Silmar and VodCom though, it does seem a bit artificial. It would have to be really well implemented and have some practical purpose to it or it would just seem unnecessary and awkward. It would also have to be optional because not everybody needs or likes this kind of thing.
Your idea may sound good on paper but I’m afraid it might cause more stress with casual gamers than the good it will bring. People already feel discriminated enough and while I believe a party should be able to choose what kind of people join I don’t think making something like this official would be good for the game. You can always list what you are looking for, yeah sometimes people won’t read but other than that it works good enough.
Something I would like to see though is something to filter out people who are too low to do the dungeon from joining (like a level 69 trying to do CoF p1 for example). Some people don’t seem to know that a dungeon is higher level than them, or come in expecting to be carried. It’s generally not fun for anyone involved because that person is dead weight due to being two shot all the time. Of course, this system should be optional so if people can still run however they want.
(edited by Aguri.2896)
Well, at least I don’t have to feel embarrassed when my character’s back says “boing” anymore and can finally transmute my ascended back piece. Still, sucks for those who bought it expecting something else.
I remember one time I had my Job-o-tron backpack hidden and my character’s back continued to talk. So unless they changed it you can hide it and it will still talk.
There needs to be more machines like this in this game. There should really be some tanks in orr and how come nobody ever uses golem suits?
Wow… this LS isn’t designed with much replayability in mind is it? I am glad there is an alternate way of obtaining the gloves, but it’s still a bummer. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
