My educated guess: tomorrow 11/10/2016 the teaser
Next week 18/10/2016 the patch.
And here’s the thing. What the Mursaat see as a betrayal isn’t really a betrayal, it was a difference of opinion. I mean, the other races didn’t promise to come and fail to show up. They refused to join outright, and the Mursaat went through with it anyways and failed. That’s not a betrayal, it was making a bad choice.
yea, you go telling that to a race with a superiority complex. Good luck, you can borrow my aegis.. oh and bring some AR, cause the air is gonna burn with agony when you’re done speaking
practically there is no day night cycle outside verdant brink. The only real indication is that there are 2 runes/sigils that work during day/night and a little extra glow on sylvari. You won’t notice the night when you play the game, its like the world is stuck in a perpetual dawn
The one thing I miss from GW1 is the fail condition in quests. The only struggle is dyng having to run back to a battle. Some events can fail but thats usually because of a timer more than a fail condition. I never really feel challenged during missions anymore. Its always, I can kill everything in one go, or I die once and have to run back to the fight.
If you want your voice heard, there’s already a section for elite specialization suggestions, and if the devs read anything, that should be it.
Yes there is an LFG, but what is wrong with wanting some faster an easier for people that don’t care who they run with.
You could flag for the dungeons your interested in. Once there is 5 people you are given a prompt just like in spvp.
Once everyone excepts you are ported to the dungeon.
There are two problems with automated LFG:
1) You have no control over the people who enter. If you LFG Ascalonian Catacombs, you’re bound to get random people of ‘bad’ classes and lv79 or lower with less than optimal gear. Now not to say that’s bad, but there are people who want to speed clear and will only want lv80 parties with optimal gear. You reduce the amount of freedom of making parties if you replace joinLFG by autoLFG
2) There is no guarantee that it’ll be faster. Just because of the style, doesn’t mean more people will do dungeons of your specific path
ok all anet needs to do is remove half the wp on the world map (only live the city ones and the convinient ones like the ones close to meta event spots or world bosses) and just introduce mounts for the rest that would add quite alot in the immersion
Why would you want anet to waste valuable resource to remove a method of transport, only to insert a new less flexible method of transport? Mounts don’t add immerion into the game because the waypoints have already been lorewise explained.
No it is not way out of proportion….you don’t become an anomaly every time you jump into a rift. I don’t know about you but in the many attempts I jumped into a rift I only became an anomaly once. The rest of the time I got transported to other parts of th world. To me it feels like you are overreacting for nothing.
I am expressing my concern about Anet introducing PvP into the open game world. No matter how often it can happen, I don’t like it.
Anet is not introducing PvP into the open game world. You don’t have to express your concerns, and you don’t have to worry because it will happen zero times. There is no PvP now, no PvP coming, nor will there ever be.
When you can directly kill another player in the open world, that is PvP. And it has already happened so your “zero times” is already gone.
It seems the definition of a ‘bug’ elusive to you
yea, you just need to have the collection open to get the items from it.
4 years without a precursor *woe is me
But seriously though, if you want ascended items so badly, you could’ve crafted a full set in this 2 month period. Or better yet, now you can save your matrices and outright buy the ascended chests in the Fractal Lobby

I kind of fail to see the problem. The only known scenario where you can be killed right now is the VERY RARE chance you’re turnt into an anomaly. Now if someone is so ungentlemanly to kill you, really, all you have to do is select the nearest WP. As things are now there are zero repurcussions to death. If I were in that scenario, got changed and then got killed I would be like ‘wtf just happened, and then laugh it off and WP’. There’s literally no harm done
I always hated that they’re called Jumping Puzzles, because that implies that with wit or intelligence you can beat it. You can’t. lts not a puzzle, its an ordeal, a challenge. You win either by luck, skill, or sheer force of repetition and trial and error.
If its any hope, no matter how minute, there’s been an unverified leak that the Amnoon Oasis is next expantion territory, which lies north of the Sulphorous Wastes (Al Jahai, Abaddon) and here the Judundu Wurms roam. They were the closest things we had to mounts in GW1, and honestly, I do hope to see them again.
There’s little to no evidence on the anomalies. At least what’s been confirmed so far is that you need to have been blasted by the Bloodstone Fen Big Bang to be able to see them. So I assume we got overcharged with magic. From there on, it’s all theories. They could be Seers, they could be Leyline Spirits, they could be Mursaat, they literally be anything right now.
I suppose out of phase Mursaat and Seers are the most popular theories, especially now that the priory mentioned them during the Choice quest.
Taimi is good character, yet…
I really hope that the floor from “Taimi’s Game” doesn’t mean that she works for Inquests.
https://twitter.com/Zlinnt/status/780158068277469184
She said that only has access to the lab. (And Moto), but I don’t think he could do it, because he has another interest in Rata Sum.
Taimi is a little liar and she is very suspicious.
Given her personality and that she’s tutored by Zojja, as well as having several near-death experiences at the hand of the Inquest, I doubt she will collaborate with them in the slightest anytime soon.
I think you meant she has another interest in Rata Novus, but yea, of course. She does it to help us, but also because she loves the work she gets to do there. She’s a scientist at heart. She wants to unravel every little screw in Rata Novus given she had the time and mobility for it.
no, you’re right. the forum is a bit buggy, sometimes clicking any link randomly redirects you to the login page, even if youre already logged in. It’s pretty rare, but I’ve seen it twice or thrice as well
I like this idea. Complicated coding I expect but would be cool.
They can start from the box’o’fun and expand from there
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Petrified
I have one dyed with a purple and white combination. The effect reminds me of the Margonite colors in Guild Wars 1.
There is another glider that is just fire. If we could dye that one we could really make a margonite
Has anyone made a note of the symbols that come up every now and again?
I think they work like a lever puzzle – selecting one changes the others
Thats if you want to open a rift. They’re labelled A and B, and you need to turn them all to A to stabilize a rift. When you press one key, the buttons next to them flip as well.
So its a minipuzzle
A B B A B
Press 2
B A A A B
Press 5
B A A B A
etc. Turn them all to A
So, yesterday, me and my guild mates were redecorating the guild hall, monument area for bosses/events, Statues to commemorate the battle of Rin, a graveyard for fallen people in GW2 (and some important folks from GW1, here’s to you, Nick).
But at some point we tried to make a gallery of statues for ourself but to our shock we learned there was only a single model statue that looks like a brute male warrior that you can place and assign a name to.
So, I had this idea. We all know that the Box’o’Fun is capable of ‘petrifying’ people in their current pose.
So my idea was that something similar could occur in the guild hall. You place a pedestal, stand on it, strike a pose you want, and as you stand on the pedestal, the special action button appears with an instant cast. Pressing this button will petrify you in your current pose, making a stone statue of yourself. (It would be cool if the weapons maintained their colors/effects, especially if they’re ascended/legendary).
And then the pedestal itself has a sign you can write your label on.
I believe this is the type of prestige many guilds would want. I know I would go an extra mile if a cost/challenge was attached to it.
Penny.. eeh.. silver for your thoughts?
Another odd status display bug is when players you have blocked use ‘online’ status their names are faint grey on your blocked list and the status square next to their name is bright green; but if they use ‘away’ status, their names are bright and the status square next to their name is bright yellow/orange.
I don’t seem to have the issue with the Guild member names, though I may be misunderstanding what you mean by ‘hover over a guild members [sic] name’. For me, Guild members show up as online (if online) in Friend’s List, in ‘person’ and in the Guild roster.
Do you understand now what I mean? I am curious if others have the same problem. I have it on my acount, even if I play on other devices, so it can’t be client-side.
I’m on the other end. I feel like caithe got off pretty easy. She deserves from serious reprimands for her actions. Sure she has shown remorse, but if remorse was all it took to be acquitted of crimes, then yea, this world would go drown the drain faster than Orr did.
I’m still slightly upset we had no choice in making Caithe the caretaker of the scion. I wouldn’t trust her within 10,000 feet radius of Tarir without some proper supervision. The only way I wouldn’t kill Caithe when she got that close to Tarir is if she had at least 4 Exalted with a blade at her throat. And now I’m entrusting the Scion to her? yea, fat chance, its only because the writers forced me to forgive that rogue.

I was never bothered by the content, just that I couldn’t read any /guild or /map chat due to the volumes of text spewing from a small fraction of the RPers.
This is the issue for me over what I see being said. I appreciate Penelope clarifying that not all RPers are inappropriate with what they say but boy, on NA we have some doozies who are; including some who don’t actually become explicit, but are… discomforting without being graphic. On my years on the internet, I have come across people who are serious about some incredibly explicit/inappropriate roleplaying and some who will do it in public, not just to troll. Whether the people I’ve seen doing it in NA DR are trolling or not is not for me to judge and the only people who will truly know are those people. Such is the nature of RPing, as I’m sure a lot of people are aware.
I’ve played my fair share of D&D over the years so honestly, I have no issue with roleplaying. Just having to change my chat options (which due to personal health reasons I can’t always remember to change back immediately) because of walls of text that are currently not supported properly by the game which interfere with what I and others are doing. The walls of text are where I think the ‘spam’ definition has some weight.
No one’s honestly saying RPers should gtho of DR (well, some people might really feel that way), just that we’d like ANet to give RPers proper integration into the game so they’re not so heavily ostracised or seen as a nuisance. The RP section being added to LFG was a great start but I think everyone can agree that there’s more that could and should be done for everyone to co-exist more harmoniously.
As for RP chat range, maybe that could be the same radius as Say chat? Also if people trolled RP chat, it’d be easier for GMs to understand the context of a report as it would be clear it was targeted harassment towards a group of players as they’d have to be typing in RP chat to do so, instead of trying to claim that they’re responding to someone else in the channels we have now. I don’t know, I don’t get why a channel dedicated to RP would be a bad thing as in my eyes it would actually give RPing more legitimacy than the current form of co-opting emotes with large walls of text, and could by extension clear up a lot of issues that people have with RPers.
Very helpful, and thank you so much for helping with these useful suggestions. I have my chat windows separated differently, but I think you setup is great, too!
The thing I want to emphasize is that rather than ostracizing someone or a group of players, why not look for a means to allow everyone to participate in our game on a level playing field? Rather than limiting, refine! Organize your UI and I believe you will see improvements in your experience on several levels.
On the other hand, if what some of the comments referenced above is happening in All Chat or in the wide range of emotes, then it should be reported, if only for a reality check by an impartial agent.
By this defenition, its the job of the non-roleplayers to change their channals to avoid the Role Play. Me and my guildies occasionaly use an emote, so we should turn off all emotes to give RP’ers their safe space?
Or at least change the Raving Asura into a structure since he ‘never’ fights. he’s just there for the background entertainment

I’ll make a screenshot so its clearer
Just a minor bug;
When you hover over a guild members name, they will always appear as offline until you open the guild roster and go to the respective guild they’re in. Until you open the roster they’re in, they’ll always be displayed as offline. After having once opened all 5 guild rosters, the display functions normally again until you log out.
Picture
1) Shows chat log as I log in
2) Shows chat log after opening guild roster, but not yet selecting the guild the player is in.
3) Shows chat log after opening Guild Roster which the guy is in.
Note that in 1 and 2 the guy status is set to offline, yet afterwards he appears offline. This is a consistent bug, that always occurs, 100% of the time, every time.

Only works if he changes the number on a daily basis
nah, just 97 days from the day they uploaded the patch
To the best of my recollection, the Six Gods only took the Bloodstone to Arah. I’ve replaye the game and read all the ingame books/scriptures etc several times, but I don’t recall ever hearing the gods MADE the bloodstone. AFAIK, they only took it to Arah, after which abaddon undid the seal, and then the other gods had to sacrifice a king on it to seal it again, and then threw it in the mouth of abaddon, and abaddon himself into the desert making the sulfurous wastes where he fell.
The chaos gloves work the same way. It’s nothing new really.
Seriously though…black fire? too edgelord for me.
Serously though… whitish fire? too Sancti Kyrie for me.
Problem is, you can’t even make it look like normal fire. Darkest red dye I have makes it a pinkish-orange. Torches, beacons etc all have redder flames than that. is if a BLAZING glider can’t even look like normal fire, I’d consider it a design flaw
One correction to the map, the one in NW Dredgehaunt is II-V not V-II
You are right, fixed it real quick.
Darnit, now I have to repair the body again :p, thanks for the update.
But may I ask where you found the map file?
consortium. Yes, I thought about the priory but it seemed too “convenient” that they had someone in there that knew “all about this” and that I didn’t see before, that looked different for others on this forum AFTER they had made their choice(call me cynical and you would be right). And I am one for trying the opposite of what most would do. Given those things, I went with Consortium. I’m sure it will be interesting either way.
I don’t know, an order based on hoarding knowledge ‘just seems to know something’ sounds weird to you, but a capitalist group trying to monetize the elder dragons having someone know all about it AND them spying on the Priory does’t sound weird to you?
I was actually thinking 97days till the next expantion announcement, but this theory is nice, too!
Thanks for the map, Rabe. Think you could do us all a tiny favor and put the coordinates on them too?
Because you asked so nicely here are the coordinates.
Thanks so much for that, I’ll hotlink to this post in the main body
as an outfit would be slightly troublesome, but maybe as a (battle)tonic would be nice
I chose the Priory as well, mainly for the reason I don’t trust those consortium types. They know I’m their best chance at killing the dragons and yet they prefer to extort me to keep me alive. That, and their information network that they brag about reminds me more of the russian method than anything I would trust. I’m more keen to look over my shoulder now anytime I’m anywhere the Priori base
The population is not declining, the majority is just doing profitable content, e.g. raids/fractals, Meta’s with high yield, or enjoying the new content or doing stories.
Of course older current events and routine events that have been around for 4 years are gonna see a decline in numbers. But I assure you, the total player base is hardly decreasing at all. Ever since anet remodelled their agenda it’s actually been going pretty good.
I’ve recently been slightly more bugged by this mechanism than before. And while it’s mostly limited to fractals for me, I can imagine some other scenarioss where it’s bad.
So, the drill is this, pressing Tab selects the highest/most-graded mob within your range, and targets them. This is fine.
Now comes the bad part: Chaos Fractal Anomaly and Raving Asura. These are my two most knelling points.
So, the boss is ‘immortal’ and summons adds to fight for him. But the boss himself is constantly draining the auto-targeting, meaning you have to double-Tab to select an add.
It would be nice if the system could be updated to ‘Select highest graded mob without invulnerability’
Havent you guys heard? the shoulder contains the blighting fluid because Taimi heard that the fluid has great healing properties. And who else but her would need some healing the most
Yea, I reported it as a bug kinda hoping it was, or otherwise start a discussion. Had a small hope since the eyes got fixed I hoped the glider palette could also be fixed.. no dev has responded to is so far
1. A dungeon finder, which i know a lot of people would love. Is there a reason we don’t have one yet? I have the hardest time finding groups for dungeons and i miss doing them so much! its easy, fast, and a fun way to get gold
2. Cat ears! We have bunny ears, we also need kitty cat ears!!
3. Glitter dyes
a dye that sparkles!?!?!?!?!
please, someone respond O_O
1 > There is LFG, select the dungeon you want to do. Then if there is no party, make one your own.
2 > You’ll be pleasantly surprised with what That_Shaman dug up in the oct.4th patch. Go reach his reddit (google: That_Shaman)
3 > While it could have ‘some’ uses, I think the game is already more than bright and flashy enough than is for its own good.
All in all, I feel like you come from asian/korean RPGs considering your requests, am I wrong? Games where flashyness is more important than brawn and function.
They’re not very intertwined. the Personal Story and Living Season 2 are sufficiently disconnected. but for the sake of getting the full experience of whats happening in the world, I would still suggest you finish the Personal Story at least once
Havent come across a sad anomaly, sadly, since the patch
This game needs more premade emote commands.

Laugh 2 (because the current female laughs just sound like witch cackles, or males drunken brawl laughs)
uhhh theyre flames. theyre not going to be color-accurate like paint on canvas
There’s a difference between color accurate and a black dye turning white. And black flames are already a popular aspect in games. After black didn’t work, I tried to get dark-blue flames to fit my dragonhunter, or darkgreen for my necromancer, but couldn’t even get that.
It seems the dyes react somewhat buggy. after a certain height of ‘darkness’ they all turn into lighter versions, even turning lighter than their original counterparts. Abyss is practically white, Shadow orange is like yellow with a hint of orange..
I suppose the pallette is bugged because this can’t be right.. at all
But on the design.. YOU’VE OUTDONE YOURSELF, ANET, THE DESIGN IS AWESOME!!

I love how location 9 is the Dry Top diving point…
yea, but from there you get thrown to Hoelbrak to for some reason
There are rifts u use the device in the lake to close. currentl;y we’re failing to coordinate in our map tho
we’ve gotten that much, but we haven’t figured out how to activate the device yet
