Ready button redesign to prevent afk loaders that drop one minute into the match unless your data shows it is not as much of a problem versus those that drop mid match. I don’t have connection issues, but I’ve seen other say they dropped at times. The dishonor system should handle the intentional midway through match leavers while being forgiving enough for the unintentional 4v5’s.

Here’s a bit more information to clear the air on this stuff coming in for this next patch:

What will be in the rank chests?
We are exchanging out the old rank up reward chests with three new rewards chests based on the level you are.

Here are the thresholds:

  • Ranks 1-9: Players will earn 1 Small Reward Box each time they level in this tier
  • Ranks 10-29: Players will earn 1 Medium Reward Box each time they level in this tier
  • Ranks 30-80: Players will earn 1 Large Reward Box each time they level up in this tier

Loot table for rank up reward boxes:

  • Small reward boxes will contain random crafting materials and stardard loot
  • Medium reward boxes will contain 1 scroll of knowledge(skill point) and rewards similar to the small chest but in the next tier loot table above it.
  • Large reward boxes will contain a tome of knowledge(1 PvE level/skillpoint), 5 champion bags, and 5 scrolls of knowledge (5 skillpoints) each. Tier 5 crafting mats included.

What are these guild tabards?
Sorry for the confusion but these are just the same items that were on the rank vendors. Tabards, banners, back pieces, regardless the name, they are NOT capes. The “back banners” will still be there until the feature build but the reason we put them on the glory vendor was because we planned to previously remove the rank vendors entirely for this build, meaning they would no longer be available. Having these vendors should give you all some more time to get anything you don’t have yet and help with inventory management. Both the rank vendors and glory vendor will be removed upon the feature build so make sure you do this. I suggest to open all your chests, don’t just leave them unopened as they will be deleted. Either way, don’t be too alarmed because tons of new rewards are coming. Even PvP specific ones!

What about salvage kits?
The salvage kits on the glory vendor have been changed to cost a small amount of copper instead of being sold for 100 glory. The salvage kits on the rank vendors will remain 100 glory until the vendors are removed themselves.

Hope that clears some questions up!

It’s more or less a non retroactive placeholder on rank chests until the feature build which will (should) have retroactive ranked rewards/unlocks.

Found belongings will not be able to turn in for items on the 18th so buy skill tomes if you don’t pve.

PvP crafting mats may be phasing out for the feature build although I don’t think anet has said anything on if crafting mats will be replaced with the pve ones we get from the alliance bags or much of anything on crafting and magic find. Gamblers welcome to chance spending found belongings on Obsidian Shards whatever those do…..

The high rank players are getting way more rewarded than anyone.

This sounds like there will be retroactive rewards.

Aww ya I forgot about that so I wouldn’t have gotten 1 skill point per class per rank. Well as long as unlocks aren’t hard to unlock in pvp by pvping than I’m sure it will be fine.

These rewards are just a stepping stone for what is to come in the feature build. Try not to overanalyze these current rewards and sit tight. Unfortunately we cannot grant retroactive rewards with this type of change but just wait to see how we deal with this come the feature build! I can’t say anything further regarding that because it’s just way too big of a spoiler, but information is coming soon.

Can the skill points at least be retroactive please? My lvl 2 pvp characters will need them for the unlocks. Or am I to assume skill points will be retroactive come the feature build rewards?

Edit: I guess a lot could change where skill points may not even be the currency for pvp unlocks. I dunno, I just hope unlocks are much better than the 300,000 glory and 40 gold that was needed for the 8 healing skill unlocks. I read it will be just enough to “get your feet wet” so time will tell.

As of March 18th, Alliance Supplies will stop dropping and you will not be able to receive any new Found Belongings or Found Heirlooms. Related to this, you will no longer be able to turn in Found Belongings and Found Heirlooms for items.

Aside from the unlocks balance is 100% as both sides can run the most effective builds.

The perception of balance is distorted from a heavy emphasis of rng procs and auto activated abilities. The most effective builds risk/reward is unbalanced against a lot of other potentially good builds.

The system is there with achievement gear unlocks so for pvp I think it would be good.

Edit: Just remembered the town clothes tab and the pvp outfit tab. So for pve just enable the pvp outfit tab to replace your in and out of combat appearance.

IT must not be as easy as you imagine since it hasn’t been done. It is never good to make assumptions about how difficult something is, a lot of the time they are other reasons things haven’t been implement whether due to resources, timing and priorities.

I would imagine it would be rather easy so I agree it is a priorities and resources issue.

If only every update had 1 pvp change.

We can’t even get them to remove skyhammer from solo queue. I mean how hard of a change is that? If they don’t have time to implement something so small, what makes you think they are doing anything bigger?

What achievements are those? Ladders aren’t even in the game yet. Besides they want to make all ranks constant so rank 1 will take the same amount of time as rank 201 etc. I’m thinking the dragon finisher is not even made yet since there is no data mined version and it will most likely remain the final ranked finisher. Sure the phoenix and under ranked finishers will be more common, but total rank points will not diminish so if you have 2mil rank points you will still be far better off than someone with 250k rank points.

It makes every player’s rank less significant if it’s easier to get it.

Ranks will most likely be extended into the hundreds with exclusive rewards being retroactive and obtained at a constant rate. Just because it will take less time to rank than it did at launch does not mean it is a slap in the face to all the veterans who will still have a higher rank than new players.

The only slap in the face are farmers able to keep their ranks, however, with exclusive rewards tied to ladders it won’t matter as much.

This thread is for me personally so I can properly communicate to the designers how you guys feel about it.

Infiltrator strike with no target. Select target and pre cast pistol whip then use steal or infiltrator signet. Run through auto chain and use headshot on important short animations or proceed to pistol whip. Infiltrator return to escape. Short bow to harass and evade. Black powder to stomp. Spam pw on targets being ressed or use choking gas and cluster bombs. Also able to use infiltrators strike for the immobilize when needed, but pre casting pw is not the same as with steal and infiltrators signet and is easy to line up with the instant slice auto attack. It is an evade reliant build able to have good damage and decent bulk with the solder amulet (no quickness) or better damage with zerker (quickness).

It makes sense to turn pistol whip into a chain skill. I think more if not all skills should be chain skills which would get rid of the notion of spamming as you would need to set yourself up for a strong attack string, but the problem isn’t necessarily the skill itself. It is the amount of damage to bulk to evade chaining one can achieve when properly playing the build with a soldiers amulet on top of it granting 3 mechanical effects. The multi strike the stun and the evade. If it wasn’t for the lyssa runes pistol whip would be a better mechanical skill than any of the 3 elite skills.

Think of it this way.

In both soloQ and teamQ conquest there will be landslide wins and loses. Same for TDM and same for any mode. TDM however allows the player to focus on the basics of combat and ressing without also needing to learn to play the map or other objectives.

1v1 and 2v2 are horrible ideas* and a working TDM would be better put on a 3v3 in terms of roles. The goal is to create the skills necessary to allow a well played and well rounded group of 3 be able to win against a well played 3 man condi bomber or 3 man glass cannons or 3 man bunks.

*unless they’re both running the exact same builds.

I think a better amount would be 30 bags for soloQ and 40 bags for teamQ. There are no ladders in place so the top of the mmr soloQ should not be getting half the rewards that the bottom of the teamQ can get when most people solo join teamQ.

This isn’t circular reasoning.

We’re not saying we are going to do nothing because we said we would do nothing.

We’re saying we won’t change direction (from the previously stated plans) because it would put many players at a disadvantage, and on top of that these players would be hurt because they listened to us.

We seriously considered many different options, and doing nothing seemed the most fair. Do you disagree? Keep in mind, more people used boosters than did not.

It’s a small issue but there was a better solution. Glory boosters can be consumed for 100 glory. Player A who used all their boosters still received more glory than player B without creating a problem of removing an item completely. As small an issue as it is with everything else in the state of the transition it doesn’t reflect as well had a better solution been taken. In my opinion that is the goal, a smooth transition even on matters where I can agree the glory booster being deleted is small.

Huh? That doesn’t make any sense. This is a conquest game mode. Make the orb so that there isn’t an advantage to any class.

Conquest is a strategically competitive game mode that anet chose to rocket to esports without a more casual game mode to fall back on.

It is the lack of a casual mode not making the more competitive mode more casual. Build templates would make it easier to switch builds.

A: We will not be converting glory boosters because we announced that we would be phasing out glory in John’s blog post and it wouldn’t be fair to the players that used up all of their boosters since then in preparation for it.

I don’t understand this because if glory boosters rewarded a fraction of the glory that one could get compared to playing for an hour than how is it not fair? Besides why would pvpers even want pve boosters?

So it’s been quite a while since I’ve really gotten back into GW2, I think maybe close to a year now.

Spend all your glory and use all your crafting mats before they get deleted.

The most effective orb runner I’ve found is the greatsword immunities warrior. Goblins for extra credit. I don’t mind it because when this map pops I just switch to my warrior and either run orb 20 times for a win or cry that my team can’t hold caps.

4v5 is almost a guaranteed loss. And it happens way too much.

I told my team to just let them win to end it faster but this guy was so passionate to drag it out and try to win the 4v5 that he told me to die in a fire after saying he reprted me for not contributing to the fight.

In 2011 a representative of anet claimed gw2 would have ladders. Leaderboards were implemented because the spvp community “asked” for them.

If Anet is serious about their “living story” they will have Scarlet Lazarus the Dire destory Lions arch. Force players to use other cities until LA is rebuilt.

I wouldn’t mind glory boosters turning into an x amount gained consumable that is lesser than average glory gained in the hour of the buff.

What will happen to current and future pvp gear and will it remain account bound deposited into the locker?
