@Rauderi: WRT pet toughness, it depends on the pet and the Ranger build – my Fern Hound for example perhaps has more health and toughness than the average Ranger with Exotic armour. Depending on the enemy, a melee pet may not be the best idea which is why I tend to use a Devourer as my alternate pet in PvE. Pet death penalty can be avoided in the main with tactical swapping of pets, as with all builds/professions there are strengths and weaknesses. Eliminate the differences and the game becomes so dumbed down it would be hardly worth playing IMO.
AR of subordinates is one area that possibly needs to be addressed. Perhaps they should share the AR of their owner?
Would be interesting to know exactly what you mean by “the slightest bump” an example location in game might help to clarify that point.

Personally, I’d like Chill to have the Movement Impairing effect removed. It steps into Cripple territory and we don’t need two Control conditions doing same thing.
Then we could see more access to it or maybe give it some bonus effect. Reducing duration of applied Boons?
You simply can not remove the move imparing, with out essentially destroying the Reaper, so that is unlikely to happen.
I dont think Chill is weak on it self, but rather there is just not enough access to it. We will have to wait and see how the reaper plays out.

We have gone over this, there simply is not enough pvp population to support anything other than a single unranked queue.

Warrior needs a slight damage nerf to rampage and a slight buff to it’s natural weapon skills & trait arrangements.

No, what he said is right, what warrior needs is a buff over all to sustainability and damage. AND a NERF to endure pain and rampage.
The entirety of warrior play is reduced to whether or not he can burst down you before his 3 “i win CDs” are burned.
People survive with 80%+ HP after mesmer popped Moa on them, and you have a problem to kite someone for 15 sec with your weapon and utility skills?

You lose 100% of the matches you don’t play. “Broken builds” or not, there’s no excuse for AFK.
The punishment for leaving/AFKing needs to be a lot stronger.

Cleric Bunker Guardian
betwin absurd damage, insta kill burst and poisons, cleric guardian has next to no survivability now.
Playing warrior now it is reduced to blowing Rampage for essentially free damge and then trying to burst your opponent down before your 2 endure pain cds are burned.
It makes warrior boring, awful to play against and has killed every alternative build.
Warrior needs more overall damage on its weapons and a heavy nerf to rampage and endure pain. Remove 90% percent of the current warrior efficiency in those 2 skills and transfer it to the rest of the class.
Make the class more intrinsically durable (better healing) and less dependent on invulnerability CDs.

Have to agree, you run tino Ele+Ele+Mesmer+Thief, aka half the teams, and broken builds make it just not fun.
There will be no new weapon “Types” in the expansion.
The engineer is getting minions? like for reals? well at least we know, either they fixed them or they never will.

Minion Master in GW2 has never worked correctly.
I remember complaining first year about my minions running and aggroing mobs that were not tied to the mob i was fighting. They fixed that, they fixed it so well they no longer run off and attack other mobs, or the mob I’m currently fighting. Sure they work “sometimes” but most of the time it’s " Zeh Minions..Zeh Du Nuthing!!".
What i cant fathom is why they have been broken for so long if not for anet wanting them to be broken.
Dont know, but it certainly does not bode well when you have this line on your own wiki, for over 2 years.

1. Chill condition. Or just outsustain them (not easy or viable on all builds you might run of course). Moa them and then hit them with burst. Yeah, I’ll give you this one, this is a tough opponent, no apparent weaknesses, but I’ve beaten D/D ellies, and they’ve beaten me, so while it’s hard fight it’s not an impossible one.
Granted when they win, they tend to mop me up in less than 20 seconds, and I fought a D/D on a point for a minute and a half once before finally winning. That doesn’t seem to be right, the fight should last about the same either way. So it probably does need to be tweaked.
2. It’s flavor of the month, nothing you can do about it. At least if they don’t open up on you with that burst you can fight them like always. I run Lock On personally, it helps. Play against the meta.
3. Moa them. Disengage from pointless fight. Try to cap points and then fight the warrior off point so they waste it in a skirmish.
4. Cleave up and pressure the area. It’s fairly predictable what the thief will do, unless they use a lot of stealth to approach you unseen.
5. See 3.
Granted, that’s not a LOT of counterplay against some of these, but it does exist.
Also, 3 and 5 both depend on Elites. The Elite shouldn’t be quite an I win button, but it’s a powerful limited use resource meant to drastically affect the outcome of a fight. It’s not so bad to lose a fight when the other player had to use an elite to cinch it.
Thing is, there’s always going to be a “best”. You’ve just got to deal with it.
So to sum up.
-1, 3 and 5 you need to counter them with an “i win button” of some description.
-2 is unlikelly to be countered if they play it right.
-4 throw aoe blindly and you might have a chance, unless they abuse stealth which is what thiefs are meant to do any way.
I will concede thou that litch is the most fair of the bunch, they hit like a truck, but unlike rampage their access to stability is limited which makes counter play possible.

I think they’re supposed to be in-your-face and hard-to-deal-with. That’s not quite an “I Win” button. I don’t want to call it the best design ever, though.
well you could deal with it going defensive, but you cant really do that if they are inmune to evey form of hard and soft cc, you just have to sit there and take it.
I think the idea with the transformation skills is that if you don’t get stability you’re just gonna be hard-cc’ed to death without actually being useful. Since you don’t have access to your utilities (maybe they should just let you use your utilities, though? shrug).
So they are essentially supposed to be an i win button.
Why do this sort of skills, need perma stability on top of its high damage and CC boosts?.
They should not have access to stability period, otherwise they become an “i win button”.
Write down the bullkitten builds you hate to loose against which have no counterplay.
1- DD ele.
2- Insta invi burst down mesmer.
3- double endure pain rampage warrior.
4- invi burst down thief.
5- 5k crit litch necro.
i honestly doubt there will be further expac, not because i dislike thisone in fact i like it a lot, but because this is so late in the game i fear the consumerr/p,layerbasee juust isnt there any more
I takes a tremendous amounts of time and money to rework the engine for DX12. They simply will not do it.
Your best hope is that some of the DX12 improvements are introduced into DX9 through backwards compatibility, but that is entirely on M$ side. But even that will be marginal and anectdotic at best.

Just curious as I don’t see them post anywhere, even when they or their team is brought up or the topic of the thread.
I dont think they do, but really are they that relevant? we are not talking about LoLs millions upon millions of players, GW2 pvp tournaments are lucky to get what 5k concurrent viewers? as far as esports go, GW2 is dead in the water, so what these highly skilled players think, is meehh…. clearly not many people play this game for organized play any way.
Dont really think this affects warriors all that much.
Warriors are based on 2 CDs of Endure pain + Rampage.
Rampage duration is still fairly long at 15s.
The CD is longer, but you are always dead if you dont have your CD up already, i mean that is just like the litch on necro, they are high power spikes high CD builds. That is just how they work.

Bi weekly patches are nice, but they would be better if they actually addressed what people are concerned about.
Nerfed rampage, uh? ok?, warrior was a mid tier or third tier class at best. The big 3 (Mesmer, Eles and Thiefs, remain untouched).

They are asking us to buy an expansion with a core feature broken since launch, i think this merits an expressed commitment to fixing it by the expansion launch.

I have to agree i used to run GS+HM and shouts, it was mid rangy, may be not top tier like the cookie cutter builds but decent enough. Shout bow condis was decent enough as well.
Now days is double endure pain + rampage or go home, any variation is just decoration on those 2 skills.
Unless everything is specced for defense, eles just melt. Which is why the Tempest sucks.
Have you done any lvl 50 fractals or pvp for that matter? this is true for every class not just eles.
The “direct alpha/hit-based damage skill” that you talk about still usually doesn’t work. I have heard that before so I started to start all my fights with an auto attack. It didn’t improve the situation.
There is more to it than just start the fight with an alpha damage skill, you need to be continually attacking the target in question (that means user interaction not just hit 1 and leave it to work). There is a similar issue with Pets, and can be complications with the Ranger when using skills such as barrage which hit more than one target (the last target to take alpha damage is typically treated as the primary target).
Subordinate target control tend to work best with single hit target skills. That is not to say they do not work with multi-hit/multi-target-alpha skills nor that they will never attack other targets on their own volition (c/f target one member of a mob and they may start attacking the rest of the mob if agro’d to do so). Control of sub-ordinates is not always an easy thing but I reinforce the point that the situation is far from broken, it just has limitations.
Dude this does not work, you have stated already you dont play necro, and you are not suggesting anything necros have not tried for ages.
You can single target a dude/auto attack him, command the golem to charge, he will knock the dude down, move past him and stand there looking at the ground. All while you continuously single target damage him.
Why do you keep posting here, by your own admission you dont know what you are talking about.

PvP balance and PvE/WvW balance are completely different animals.
When they mechanically work, we can talk balance, this is not a balance discussion, this is a “i press the button and nothing happens” discussion.
Your entire contribution can be summed up as:
“I dont play Necro, let alone MM, but i have seen them work, thus despite of the generalized opinion that they are mechanically crippled im going to choose to believe that it is not that bad”.

- Ele burning is too high. What’s funny is that Ele Ring of Fire apply no burning on cast. You must manually walk in and out it multiple times to get 12 stacks for 3k burning. I don’t sympathize with this group.
It is not just the burning, its the burning, plus the might stacking, plus the survivability. Half the classes in this game are melee you simply do not have the option not to walk into those skills. And even if you dont, it is not like you are going to out last them. Hence OP.
I have seen minions behave appropriately in PvE thus the current situation is not as broken as some people try to make out… ever consider the problem might actually be network/server bandwidth related rather than specifically behaviour related? With heavily populated maps it may be the case that minions would stand around doing nothing (or perhaps doing no apparent damage) purely because the server can not respond fast enough.
It was occasionally a problem in GW1 and the situation is most likely alot worse in GW2.
A- Never seen this problem in GW1
B- This is most apparent in pvp which is 5v5 so it is not population related.

Players may have dreams of leading an unstoppable hoard of undead minions but then that would be OP and unbalanced. The player is not GW2 Zaitan or even the GW1 Liche however they may want to be.
Dude, what What World Do You Live In? unstoppable horde of undead? i would settle for my melee minions (which mind you is half of them plus the elite) actually try to hit something that is 2 feet away instead of just standing there.
You talk balance, how could you possibly balance something that mechanically does not work half the time. It would be like trying to balance rampage if half the time you pressed your elite skill it did nothing and burned the CD.

IMO Subordinates in general are not broken:-
- Ranger pets work fine (sometimes a greater degree of control would be nice)
- Mesmer illusions seem to work fine
- Elemental elementals work ok but perhaps could do with some buffing perhaps
- Necromancer minions seem to work ok (or at least as well as they did in the original GW)
- Other non-profession specific summons seem to do what they say on the tin but perhaps could do with a bit of buffing
All summons, minions, illusions are notionally primarily time limited attack multipliers and that is their intended purpose AFAIK. Given this, the current level of control of them is probably fine (assuming they only attack what the summoner targets or in self defence – c/f the original GW IIRC).
If specific support skills do not appear to be working as expected then there could be bugs for those specific skills but I have not noted any such problems myself yet.
You only think that because you see them as additive. For Rangers their integral….. and if you ask any class in the game, having something integral to your class being largely unreliable is the fastest way to having it side lined.
The reason Mesmer don’t care is because illusions are disposable, as well as ammo. They only need to survive the few seconds required to proc damage, then activate a shatter.
Eles don’t care because they only add to the already insane damage potential the class has. Their Elite skills are also the least crucial to their builds, giving them free slot for whatever seems useful.
But then you have the Necro, Guardian, and again Rangers. With a set of disposable minions which are designed as anything but, each has a build thats heavily marginalized because they require uptime to be effective, yet the core element of it has no inherent durability, and almost no option to significantly improve it.
I find my Ranger’s pet durability perfectly fine (they are not immortal and I do not expect them to be but they survive well enough for the purposes I use them for in the main)… as for Necros/Guardians there are more ways to play them that do not rely on minions if you find the way that minions are implemented not fit for your particular play style.
If you have a square peg and it won’t fit in the round hole you do not change the hole to fit the peg you either find the right shaped peg or the right shaped hole.
I do not deny that there are at least some cases where minion behaviour/control could perhaps be improved but it is far from broken.
I take it you dont actually play necro.
Reality is, warrior was a better designed class before the patch. I used to run GS+HM+Shouts and was perfectly viable, condi builds were perfectly viable, cookie cutter build was perfectly viable.
Today you have only 1 build: Double endure pain+rampage. Thats it, everything else is just decoration on those 2 things, you remove them and the warrior is useless.
As damage stands, shouts need to heal 2k base to even be considered sub par.
its good to see that most of us agree that PVEers should keep their unique rewards, shame PVEers don’t share our mentality, you’ll see a request for our Tribal Armour every dam day in the general forums!
If you made it only available via a PvP reward track, PvE players would still be happy and would play PvP a lot more just to get it.
Really with the kittened up balance we have now is hard to convince pvper to do pvp, what makes you think you would have better luck with pvers?.
