High Level Fractal Guardians - Build ?

in Guardian

Posted by: ArcTheFallen.7682

ArcTheFallen.7682

At higher end fractals, build is to stay alive, so P/V/T is what it sounds like. But I dont’ think armor sets/traits is as useful as utilities—-which he is referring to. I’m at 38, but having wall of reflection and shield of the avenger makes a HUGE difference in higher level fotm. So 10 in virtues to get 20% cd reduction + it lasts longer for consecrations and have two guards that supply that and you are pretty much good to avoid fractals with agony that procs from long range attacks/huge # of mobs that range—which can be found in the beloved grawl fractal.

Edit: Baseline is the only reason why guardians have a great strength in fractals is our range blocking utilities. Otherwise, everything else is whatever—aka not 10x more worth it to have us than any other class.

Guardians vs Warriors

in Guardian

Posted by: ArcTheFallen.7682

ArcTheFallen.7682

Wow, I think posters should make it clear whether they are talking about PvE or sPvP/Wvw because player vs player is totally different than PvE imo.

Also, for me, I don’t play other characters enough to know the output, but a dps guard is better than a tanky guard imo because most of the battles in end game dungeons is a dps battle (especially with some exploits than immobolizes bosses) but regardless, dps > tank but only if you can handle it.

Why is a guard better than warrior imo? Because they can take damage better than warriors. They have the options to change adapt to any situation.

Fotm 38 currently and I’m full zerk guardian (which means I’m wearing full zerker gear NOT that I’m traited for pure power output because that’s just not smart given that our defense traitlines are much better) and I carry most of the team through given my huge amount of options and ability to tank damage.

Can a warrior fight any boss head on with 1shot kills? No, not without endure pain or a shield or dodging (but that’s limited). Guardians have something called aegis (fyi) and you can literally have access to it 4 times (proc on passive courage, retreat, use courage virtue, renewed focus, use courage virtue again) and heck, why not throw in shelter and renewed focus as another source of just standing in front of an enemy wailing on them? We can stay there when enemies do enough damage for it to not even matter who has the higher health pool. But can warriors? No. And you know what? We can give that to our ENTIRE dungeon team. Can warriors do that? No.

If you are a dungeon person Guardians >>>> Warriors. For the reason of sustained dps whether greater or smaller than warrior AND their options in reflecting ranged attacks (which you will appreciate in the grawl fractal in late game and other fractals) their tomes (which you will appreciate when dat agony is too much for any of your self healing to save you from) and that aegis to keep you going without having to back out if your dodges are on the down low. Seriously, what is there to argue about? Sure, maybe you can kill the bosses at non-fotm dungeons faster but you won’t be as useful as a guardian in endgame PvE. And sure, you can outplay a guardian, but if you seriously think your utilities are better than ours for PvE…then play a guardian at grawl fractal on 30+ and tell me how much easier it is than playing any other class. And you’ll be hearing a lot more “yesss we have a guard” more than a “Yesss we have a warrior”.

Sounds good, think I’ll be giving it a go. I’ve gotten pretty good at dodging with my warrior so that experience should help me with this build.

Oh, things to add on. Run some COF to get your zerk gear (you can transmute later). And for utilities shelter + renewed focus for sure for fotm.

The other 3 should be mostly shouts for most effectiveness. I use retreat, save yourselves, and judge’s intervention as my default but switch for hold the line every now and then.

Switch to wall of reflect and shield of the avenger for ranged battles (im sure you’ve seen this for harder fracs).

My traits include AH, EM, 20% cd reduc on meditations, remove conditions every 10 seconds (since you have shelter and not signet of resolve), 20% cd reduc on gs, 20% cd reduc on shouts and unscathed contender. If you aren’t using meditations, I highly suggest using the shield bonus instead of the meditation cd reduction. If you are a focus kind of guy, you can trade it out for something better like 5% of toughness to prec and whatnot

wait…so let me make this clear

runes are for armor
sigils are for weapons
orbs/upgrade components are for jewels

You can’t replace an upgrade component on a jewel with a rune because runes are for armor not accessories.

Well, EM is based on landing crits, and the idea is to equip sigil of strength for your GS which also relies on crits. Since we lack fury, it helps to focus on zerker gear to make the most of your crit dmg (close to 3x the damage on crit) and your might procs from trait/sigil. And when EM procs, it heals you because of AH—the more procs the merrier!

Do an AH/EM build 0/0/30/30/10, get altruistic healing and empowered might.

GS/Scepter or hammer/scepter but I prefer GS for its Jade Maw perk and mob pull.

Then go all out in zerk gear.

10 in virtues is for unscathed contender for dps. But you can increase consecration duration when you need to whip out wall of relfection.

With this build, each virtue becomes a spike heal if your party members are nearby. Shouts also give you some good healing. Works well for Renewed focus too so you can spike heal like 3 times in a row. Shelter -> all virtues -> renewed focus + all virtues. And with all zerk gear, you can do good dps. Any other type of gear wont do you much better since you traits are your defense foundation and can let you survive up to 30 at least (that’s where I’m at)

ArcTheFallen.7682

The problem with sword is it is bad against mobs.

What kind of trouble are you having with mobs with the sword?

I use a sword/shield and greatsword, and I rarely have trouble with mobs. The sword in what I main, and it burns right through mobs, especially with the amount of condition damage I have on the thing. If I get swarmed by 4 or more mobs, I switch over to the Greatsword. The sword’s also great against bosses, since it keeps burning up constantly.

Sword is a 1 by 1 kind of weapon. You need something to pull all the enemies together to do decent mob damage. I use GS/Scepter because I dungeon a lot and a lot of areas require range time to time. Sword is good, but without the GS to complete its lack of aoe damage, or control, it’s not the best weapon for a dungeon.

What’s with the hard on with renewed focus? It suffers from the same problems as other invulnerability skills. It’s not absolute invulnerability, conditions that is ticking will continue to tick. Mist form also makes you invulnerable, and it’s better than renewed focus in multiple ways including being up for longer, gives you a speed boost, and allow you to heal and use utilities while being invulnerable.

There’s also no reason to exclude runes and other buffs in the discussion either. The fact is the min-max players will capitalize on the most effective combos and they will always dominate the top of the meta. You either have it or you don’t.

Ah, never played ele. So cool, but still overrules endure pain imo. And I agree with the latter part. I don’t exclude runes. But I’m saying that you have to invest in so much to just get something guardians already have.

I think it’s a wonderful idea… or at least in the right direction.

“Becouse we can reduce damage in 33%”
– Yes, but you have to stand in a circle to keep this effect (if I’m not mistaken). Guardian ranged attacks arn’t so good; so i hear…

“elite to get invunerable for 3 seconds”
- With a massive cooldown, yes. You also can not do anything while channeling this elite.

“block for 2 seconds when healed”
– I honestly don’t know which skill/trait this is. Could someone enlighten me?

“if you blind/block/dodge their illusions when they are summoned (phantoms and clones) don’t spawn at all”
– I don’t like this at all. But that’s just my 2 cents.

1) That’s a symbol you are talking about that gives the protection boon which mitagates 33% damage. You can also get it from traiting 5 in virtues and using virtue of courage or using shield#4 or hold the line shout or saveyourselves

2) Well, playing from day1 you used to not be able to run while channeling and that made it kinda useless. Now that you can run, it’s the best “Oh —--” button to back up and heal.

3) It’s our healing ability called shelter, the one that raises our arm when we heal. You block for 2 seconds and then heal.

4) Yeah, idk what that’s all about lol

I use hammer/sword-focus, which works like a charm for me. (I really feel like I’m the only one not using greatsword…)
Sword/focus gives you two skills that blind your enemy, one being a leap. One ranged attack that blocks projectiles, and a shield that blocks 3 attacks or explodes.
Personally I love it. It deals damage, and has plenty of defensive abilities too.
Combined with hammer for aoe-damage and CC it works wonders for me. ^^’

Maybe the singlehanded sword just doesn’t fit your playstyle? I know I like greatswords, but it just doesn’t fit mine

The problem with sword is it is bad against mobs. And zealot defense is useless against a running target. If you use it to block projectiles only…sure, but still…might as well take away the damage portion and make the cd shorter. I’m not a fan of a sit still and spam kind of guy.

Guardians vs Warriors

in Guardian

Posted by: ArcTheFallen.7682

ArcTheFallen.7682

Guardians are statiscally the top 3 in PvP as said in many posts in PvP forums.

Warriors are not as good as Guardians…at all. Even warriors admit to it. Why?

Survivability.

HP means nothing if you are taking more damage than you can heal. What can a warrior do against hits? Tank, self-heal, spike heal, and condition removal (oh wait…shake it off is all they have?) What can a guardian do against hits? Aegis, protection, block, condition removal, spike heal, self-heal and invulnerability.

The only arguable option for the warrior is one who has a shield, because by no means can you survive a kittenstorm of attacks. If you got hit by a mob of enemies in any hard dungeon you cant survive worth anything without a shield. But if you have a shield…that means an axe/sword/mace which isn’t the dps you need as a warrior. Sure, if you are into weapon switching, you can get shield/something and gs and switch for rifle when needed.

The reason why a warriors defense is no where near on the level of a guard

- Condition removal, you guys simple do not have that convenience and when approached with multiple conditions, you are gonna have to man up and sit there with those conditions for awhile..unless you use shake it off…trait for it…and use runes to make up for it.
- Mitagation makes up for our hp deficiency
- Aegis, free damage absorbers
- Shelter, our 2 second block with a heal, can save you from multi-hits (and we don’t need a specific weapon for it)
- Renewed focus, if you don’t believe it now…it is one of the best self-fish elites in the game. Nothing in the game makes you invulnerable except this move. What makes this good? You aren’t treated it as a real object (has a perk against a boss like jade maw where he can insta kill you with his death ray while warriors who use endure pain or a sheild will die)

But in all honesty, it depends on what your build in. However, in endgame PvE, you’ll see why the guardians rock warriors——because in the end it’s a matter about survivability and not dps. And guardians can still fork over a good amount of dps for the things they offer. And their utilities are better than any of the warriors because of their versatility.

Edit: Just wanted to say that I’m open to be proven wrong in PvE (dont care about PvP), but hey—-get to fotm lvl30+ and tell me why your group likes you.

That would be overpowered, and is the exact reason why it only blocks one hit.

Aegis is already extremely powerful as it is, it doesn’t need any boost.

Please explain how it is over powered. I mean seriously how do you think that? Please explain your answer before posting. Aegis Blocks a single hit, Take any ground target…you get 1 tick of protection on a 90 second cooldown. As i said above 100 blades will now hit for 600 less. It is Powerful against single big hits like evis…but not on multi hits. If it was given a time of blocking then it would still be the same against hard hits, but actually useful against multi hit attacks.

Also, if you want to dicuss Guardian mechanics, you need to keep PvP issues and PvE issues separate; because it’s totally different.

Aegis is overpowered in PvE because lots of bosses do strong 1-hit attacks in a cycle. Having access to aegis gives you more time between the next attack that can damage you. Multi-hit moves are not as common but they do exist obviously but we have other alternatives such as shelter (2 second block) and renewed focus (3 seconds of invulnerability) and 2 dodges (1 second of invulnerability…technically)

We also have blinds but since most (if not all) champions+ reduce its effectiveness, it’s not as useful unless timed well.

But hey, I’m all for getting buffs, so sure. But it will indeed be too powerful (nothing else can turn a 1hit ko into a mere scratch)

Skipping getting out of hand

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: ArcTheFallen.7682

ArcTheFallen.7682

I’ve asked about skipping on the forum before.

Because the first time I saw somebody do it I was thoroughly baffled by what the whiskey tango foxtrot people were doing. Somebody eventually came along and gave me the history of it; the skipping practice basically comes from GW1 players trying to make their hours-long dungeons more manageable and it’s something they unconsciously carried over into the much-less-time-demanding sequel. (and on some level it’s a practice being catered to in level design)

So a conversation about the skipping culture, is basically just a conversation about GW1’s culture. So I think it’s relevant to ask a question about the first game in order to better understand what the players in this game are thinking.

Ah, well I did not know that. I think skipping is like a virus though. But I can see how the root of it could have come from Gw1—I just needed an explanation lol (and thanks for that!).

Weapon rundown

in Guardian

Posted by: ArcTheFallen.7682

ArcTheFallen.7682

Hammer #1 chain is the default damage with #2 being a heavy hitting leap that combo’s off #1’s third strike. #3 is a root which is nice because we lack mobility of other classes and allows us to get to our target. #4 launches your target, wvw you stop a stomp and pve you can launch an unruly caster into melee. #5 creates a wall around you which either traps targets or keeps them away, blocks choke points. As you admitted earlier you haven’t done a lot with Hammer, give it a try and you’ll see that it has more control.

GSword 5 is very nice and a perfect fit for the weapon, not denying that, but its a single ability with a 30 sec cooldown. Also, the chains go out in random directions not always hitting 5 targets.

Nothing more satisfying than JI to your target with Ring of Warding Q’d up, then launch um against the ring. It’s pretty disorienting in WvW and I’ve taken out more than a few with this

Blood~

Haha yeah, I’ve read those stories and posts—it seems interesting but still too slow for me imo :P. Also for most mobs 1 pull is enough given the 30 second cooldown (you can reduce it with a trait which most ppl do which results in 24s—better than 30~). This scenario comes up time to time for me, but if I have 3-4 enemies hitting me and they are spread out very well; I find it annoying having to kill them 1 by 1 or even 2 by 2. Pulling them all together and performing an aoe is much more efficient and preferred. In a group of 5+ mobs it’s still ok since your #2 is a spin2win move and is mobile. Also binding blade (gs#5) does not shoot out randomly, unless the enemies aren’t within range. Otherwise it’ll grab the closest enemies up to 5.

Edit: This is from a PvE bias. I dont WvW much so I don’t know it’s value in that area as much.

….money…run?
Well, that just added a whole new level of confusing.

In GW1, was running a dungeon and farming the same activity?

Because a dude solo’ing Lupicus and putting it up on the forum for accolade makes a whole lot of sense to me. But people cheesing bosses and skipping whole dungeons and talking about it so unabashedly in front of their peers is alien and bizarre. But at least I can kind of understand where it’s coming from if it springs from a culture where farming and dungeon running were one-in-the-same.

And, if dungeons were basically just farms nobody cared about, what the heck did GW1 PvE people do for prestige?

Uh…this is a gw2 forum lol. Try to talk about this in terms of a new game, not an expansion of an older game than people may not have played—-cause I have no idea what you are talking about.

If you look at http://dulfy.net/2012/11/07/gw2-greatsword-skin-gallery/#1

You’ll find that it does not exist. It may have been a bug that didn’t set off the night effect or just a misconsception to exceptions in the night particle effects for this set.

I understand what the OP was saying. But the link I provided above is the most updated list of skins and double-checking it…only the AC gs has that skin. Now…if you want an option to toggle the particle effect, that’d be nice to have.

IMHO

GS is great AOE damage, I view GS as our default ‘go-to’ weapon. Does well in most all situations.

Hammer is good damage but has a lot more control than GS. Check out the Altruistic Healing Hammer guide stickied up top. I love this for WvW zergs.

Sword is great single target damage, I feel it is better DPS than GS in some situations and with the right traits/gear/consumables it gets real mean.

Mace is your ‘tanking’ weapon with heals and protection.

Staff gives Swiftness, has a decent frontal AOE and is good group support, always my 2nd choice for WvW and is great with Altruistic Healing also.

Scepter is our ranged weapon. Damage is very good in PvE where targets don’t evade much and are more stationary. PvP this thing doesn’t do as well but we’re limited on ranged options. (#2 is a targeted AoE, #3 is the root) The Citidel of Flames Scepter looks pretty decent.

Off-hands
Shield is good defense, usually has Toughness on it IIRC. Good choice for taking some hits. The knockback of #5 is fun in WvW

Focus is a strong off hand, has a shield that absorbs 3 hits and an ability that can remove some conditions of your party.

Torch, this one has gotten a lot of flack but it’s our offhand dps. Helps keep burning on the target if needed and Cleansing Flame is decent frontal AoE damage on a relatively short cooldown.

My favorites currently are Sword/Torch with Scepter/Focus. GSword and Hammer//Staff is a great loadout also. All depends on what you want.

Again, IMHO

Blood~

Hm…I agree with most things but it really depends on your definition of ‘control’. If by control you mean, area of denial, then yes, hammer does very well. But GS binding blade allows me to grab 5 enemies, interrupt them, and put them in a cluttered desirable aoe space anywhere I want—-which imo, is better control. I value control more in being able to guide where enemies go; not where they can’t go.

Why would I show a money run? He implied that I couldn’t make as much money, and I proved him wrong. It was all I wanted to do. You should get some reading comprehension, and maybe some decency and respect as well.

Kill spider (I would expect you to kill at least some of the trash here).
Skip Gravelings in traps.
Kill troll wherever.
Kill Kholer.

If you can do all that in 30 mins, then my hat’s off to you. But I don’t think you can, and won’t believe you until you post a video.

I specifically asked for a full money run. I watched the first video until you skipped the spider then turned it off.

Also, learn to link.

The discussion went to AC as an example because everyone knows it. It gives a base that anyone can talk about with actual knowledge. We could just as easily talk about CoF, or any specific fractal, but I figured more people would know AC.

Why would you ask for a full money run? It has no relevance to the discussion and I never claimed I could do one in 30 min.

I said I could make just as much money / hour by running the paths in 30min, something my videos proves.

Fast money runs are more likely to happen with private groups. But I agree with the OP; more pugs need to consider the abilities of their party members. If they do not have the capacity to skip either

1) Assess that from the beginning, and kick them
or
2) Help them by clearing mobs

Believe it or not, dungeon maps aren’t the most friendly on your first few tries. It takes a bit to map out for some so leaving members in the dust will cause a lot of confusion; and most likely, pugs newbies aren’t gonna say “Guys? I don’t know whwere I’m going” They’ll probably get lost or die along the way and then it’s a setback for the whole group

Work as a team. Pugs aren’t npcs who will follow you wherever you go.

It’s a shame you have to trait for it specifically AND get runes to get up to 6 conditions removed (2 per shout). Also, having no aegis sucks since we have to tank everything with our own flesh and bone. I had to trait into regen banner and cleric gear to do any decent amount of self healing, but still find myself dying easily in groups due to lack of blocks/damage mitagation—it’s as if Anet wants us to be glass canons.

I agree with Guanglai. As you level up and try out different weapons. Unfortunately (or fortunately! depending on how you look at it) you’ll probably consider GS/Scepter with shield/focus combo.

1. GS has better control than hammer due to our binding blade move—this helps set up aoes which make a big deal in dungeons (which is pretty much endgame gw2)
2. Damage is equal to or better than hammer (never used a hammer myself, but I’ve read some threads on their high dps), but given that and control—GS wins imo
3. Scepter has a huge range. It’s #1 does a great deal of damage and can be ground targetted so you have a lot of control over its accuracy which is nice and also #2 binds an enemy in place for 2 seconds—which pretty much helps in any situation (aka land your #1 or gtfo if you are near a melee strong enemy)
4. I prefer shield due to shield absorption knockback + range blocking but focus sounds good too.

Now…finding a scepter skin that looks good for guards…that’s a diff story

Noob Q. How to stay in range with melee

Actually, I think your problem is just the lack of swiftness. If you are doing PvE only, having retreat on your utility belt helps a lot in following and whacking your opponent. Also GS #5 Binding blade can brings your enemies closer to you (up to 5) and then you can just spin2win.

For PvP, it’s an ongoing debate if Guardian lacks kiting/escape mechanisms or if its just a lack of skill.

Drive to level?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

ArcTheFallen.7682

You’re not paying attention.

  • Do you have all your skill slots unlocked?
  • Do you have your skills unlocked, too?
  • Have you been spending your trait points?
  • Have you seen the level-80 dungeon armor? (Go to Fort Marriner in Lion’s Arch.)

In addition to access to more content, level 80 gives you more tools to work with than level 10, and many more options for playing dress-up (you still get all the low-level stuff, too, thanks to transmutation stones).

Also, a downscaled level-80 character doesn’t play like a level-10 character. She carves her way through low-level crap without a second thought.

Why do you have to defend this game to the death with no valid point relevant to the OP? Anyway, there isn’t any endgame content. You can do dungeons and world completion but that’s about it and there’s not much reward.

Lol you need to calm down Nayru. I think ASP was just trying to tell the OP the benefits of leveling up in PvE. That is relevant lol. But his later question was not answered, which you answered yourself.

@ the OP. Currently Gw2 is a dungeon/skin-hunt MMO. PvP is still not refined enough to be worth playing and WvW is steadily growing but still not epic enough in some cases (lots of repetition). If you don’t like dungeoning, or trying higher level maps; there isn’t a reason to level.

Edit: You should try gw2armor.com if you think the skins are lacking. I find that a bit odd. It has some variety and you’d be surprised on what gw2 actually has. The best weapon skins though are a hard grind to get though…which is pretty discouraging

How to get geared?

in Players Helping Players

ArcTheFallen.7682

Legendaries are worth it if you like the skin, not worth it otherwise since Anet will release more legendaries later and new methods to obtain current legendaries such as the scavenger hunt. Definitely get an exotic since it won’t be too hard to run some dungeons for one; it’ll make doing 80 content a lot smoother. But I’m regards to a legendary, get the common requirements at least. So when a new legendary comes out you can just focus on the precursor and gift of ______.

Forumers in the Minority?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

ArcTheFallen.7682

I agree with the most sound logic here. Anet can tell how many people are playing. If for some odd reason all servers are full, whether it be a bunch of people in fotm or Orr or WvW, etc…it’s good for them. If these numbers drop then they’ll obviously have to do something about it, but as far as it goes; they took a gamble, and since I haven’t seen any reports of totally removing fotm/ascended gear, I believe that Anet thought whatever they released was worth it. That doesn’t mean to say forumers don’t count. Heck, they addressed the topic to us about this change in an AMA and interview. Numbers and forums both matter. But there’s no point to commit to a forum complaint and disregard the numbers; just as is there’s no point to commit to numbers only and disregard forum complaints. I feel like they put both into consideration with each having their own values.

Thus the results I perceive:

Quite a lot of forumers dislike ascended gear and gated content:
- They told us that it was a bad decision on their part about the release time because they believe it was released prematurely and would like to balance a gear tier addition with the convenience of availbility so it’s not as impactful—the gated gear. So it seems like they are going to wait until they are fully prepared to have ascended gear accessible to all types of players when they release other items.

Quite a lot of people still play this game even with ascended gear/fotm:
- They kept it.

Seems like they value both. Which is a good thing.

For a build at 30. I think it’s best to invest in banners or shouts since it helps your group as a whole since at lvl30 you probably won’t be much of an asset to your team so the least you can do is buff them. Try banner skill reduction. GS is very good for damage dealing, but to stay safe and not get downed as often, try ranging with rifle or bow for now until you know the fights well enough to dodge when meleeing.

New to GW, Ascalonian Catacombs

in Warrior

Posted by: ArcTheFallen.7682

ArcTheFallen.7682

Ascalonian Catacombs is one of many dungeons. You will get a notification about it at lvl30 but you can infact do it at any level.

It is the easiest dungeon out of all the dungeons (give or take a few exploits on some others) but level-wise and mastery-wise it’s the easiest and can be one of the most profitable.

Story mode is worthless because it takes too long for little reward, it’s only good to unlock explorable mode for your character.

Explorable Mode is an option you have avaible at +5lvls from the story mode lvl requirement. So in the case of AC it is a level 35 dungeon. You can only get into explorable mode if you or any person in your party has completed story mode.

Dungeons are done in groups of 5 people. You will see a lot of 80s do this dungeon just because it’s easier with better equipment.

When you complete story mode you get experience points amounting to about 70% of your exp bar.

When you complete explorable mode, you get experience points amounting to about 70% of your exp bar AND 60 tokens which can be traded from vendors in Lion’s Arch for some nifty items.

If you are a dungeon frequentor, you’ll be able to get enough tokens to buy a complete set of exotic armor. If you want to take the time to master AC EXP mode, which is in fact the easiest dungeon to run/fastest (in comparison to others, it’s still hard to do compared to regular PvE), then you’ll find yourself with a ‘free’ exotic set/weapons and gold/exp. It’s a good investment at any level above 35 (or whenever you think you can take it) because it levels you up super fast. Almost a level every run which takes about 30 min at most.

Dungeon Culture
1) LFG = Look for Group; LFM = Look for Member

2) Best places to get a group is in Lion’s Arch or in the Map of the Dungeon which in this case is Plains of Ashford.

3) Always keep a ranged weapon if you are melee; alternatively, always keep a melee weapon when ranged. But hands down, it’s always better to range in dungeons than melee—-unless it’s a dps type event.

4) PUGs = Pick up groups; since you play solo, that’s probably what you’ll have to do most of the time. Be prepared for bad and good groups. But AC exp is quite common enough so that the group you are in should know what to do. It’s just how nice they are about it. Some people will give orders and blame you for being incompetent and some will tell you what to do along the way.

5) If you die, use a waypoint to revive yourself. Waypoints in dungeons cost no money. The only exception is if the event or boss at hand is pretty much good as dead. Then your party can just revive you.

6) If you don’t know where to go; let your party know immediately. It’s best if your party knows you are new to the dungeon so that they can at least tell you what you should do. It’s better than getting lost and then being inefficient.

7) If someone is downed, res them immediately, but don’t risk your life for it. Ressing someone is a skill in itself in a dungeon, know when to res and when not to res but always do your best to get your teammate back up

8)Top right of your screen, there is a prompt to read about what to do. This is a good way to assess your current goals but keep in mind, dungeons are constantly ‘exploited’ or worked around by players and you’ll find that even though the top right may say Kill Lt. Kholer, your party may choose to skip this content due to it’s big time investment, for little reward, some may choose to fight if they prefer the reward.

9) Continuing off point 8, dungeons have optional stuff you can do and required stuff. If your party seems to run past a lot of mobs/bosses, it’s probably optional. A lot of parties like to skip content, so be prepared to be rushed sometimes.

10) glhf

Stupid build?

ArcTheFallen.7682

IMO, whether it will work at all is up to you. You can make it work if you try; but in terms of efficiency—-no it will not work. If you just like exploring; sure it’ll work. But if you like dungeoning where your PvE builds matter the most then try a different setup; The most basic reason is the fact that you should have a balance of range and melee. You’ll find it in dungeons that some things cannot be done purely with melee without hindering your team.

But I guess it goes as follows
WvW & Adventure PvE
- Sure, it could work for giggles, but it’s not very optimal

Dungeon PvE
- Not a good idea, better invest in learning how to use the bow/rifle unless you just want to run melee-friendly dungeons

Transmuting Legendarys

in Suggestions

Posted by: ArcTheFallen.7682

ArcTheFallen.7682

It’s not a bug. It’s bad design. The transmute works as it should: keeps the rarity of the stats you choose. Bad design is when they made legendary stats equal to exotic stats. But yes, they said they’ll be working on it. Technically though, it’s not a bug.
