I’ve got a charr necro named Purrsian Charrpet.

Saw an asura running around named Whatam Eyedoing and a norn named Fjord Mustang.

In big events it can be harder to “tag” a mob to get credit when doing it solo. Being in a group gives you a better chance of getting credit because (as far as I know) the hits of the group count together.

IE: You’re running solo and get a single hit on a mob before the rest of the zerg smashes it. You probably didn’t do enough damage for it to count that you touched it. If you were in a group, and everyone in the group hit that same mob, the collective damage would be enough for everyone to get credit for the mob kill.

The exception to this is big bosses like Teq, Shatterer, Mega Destroyer, etc that take more than 30 seconds to kill. You can get credit running solo.

Where exactly are you that you’re running into this problem? Giving more detail will help everyone find a potential solution.

I’m casting my vote for the G600 as well. Ive been using it for over a year now and love this thing. I was debating between it and the Naga also. The tipping point that sold me on the G600 was the fact that it saves the profiles on itself, so that I don’t have to redo them every time I switch between my PC and laptop. I can just plug into either and get my game on. The 12 thumb buttons did take a little getting used to (along with using an additional finger for the 3rd clicker aka G-Shift), but the different angles helped a lot.

Pretty much what’s already been said about Fractals is the same as what I would, so I won’t bother to repeat it all. However, I will say that the claims of “berserker/zerk” gear being the “best” for lvl 80, is not entirely accurate. It more depends on the sort of build you chose to go with at that point. Personally, my elementalist wears Knights and I run a support setup with her. On a related note, the attunement swap counts as weapon swapping for purposes of triggering a Sigil of Energy when used on a weapon.

In regards to actually doing the dungeons (both Story and Explorable modes), add me to your friend list and if the both of you are on an NA server, I will be more than happy to take you through any of them, while explaining mechanics along the way. It doesn’t matter to me what level you are as long as you meet the minimum requirement for said dungeon (IE: lvl 30 for AC story or 35 for AC Explorable, etc). I’m more than happy to just answer general questions too.

If you look at the traits and click a specific line (ie: Domination if you’re a mesmer), it’ll bring up the list of major (blue, green and yellow) on the left side with a spyglass that will tell you how to get each trait when you put your cursor over it.

You can also buy specific ones from you class trainer for a fee of coin and skill points. The coin amount varies depending on the level of the trait (adept, master, or grandmaster).

Chat text in the speech bubble while using party channel shows up as dark green instead of black.

I’ve got a couple uncommon Fractal boxes myself. All the greens I get go there first, but if my other bag fills with blues, the overflow goes in with the greens.

I’d suggest getting your hands on an invisible bag to store your weapons (that you use) in, along with foods, etc that you don’t want to accidentally sell. I’d be glad to craft one for you, if you don’t have one. All I’d need is the mats, no extra coin.

Making an alt to “relearn” the basics of game-play is a good idea. Definitely keep your warrior, but leave it on the side for the time being. Don’t be afraid to try out other classes that might be outside your “normal comfort zone” too. This game is very different from other games in its style of play. You may prefer one class type (ie: melee, ranged, caster, etc) in one game but find out a similar type here is not to your liking. Experiment and see what really suits you the best.

Secondly, find a nice guild to call home. Having people to chat with and answer questions will be a big help too. You can get further tips and insight from others to give you something to work from when learning how to play to the best of your own ability. (I’d offer a place in my little home, but we focus more on PvE than PvP, though we’d still be happy to answer questions and are homed on Tarnished Coast. For the Toast!).

Changing your keybinds was also a good way to go. I finally broke down and got an actual gaming mouse for myself (Logitech G600) and it really helped my ability because I can now reach all the keys for skills and other things I use most often. There are quite a few good gaming mice out there so do some research and find which suits you best if you decide to try one too.

As far as I know, there’s no way to know in advance until you try it when you’re done designing the character.

I feel your pain when it comes to using LFG. I generally have poor luck too. I’m not interested in so-called speed runs, or skipping/stacking things, which makes it hard to find a decent group.

Add me for the Fractal adventures too. I’m currently at Personal Level 39 (with 60 AR on Thief and 50 AR on mesmer [i prefer taking my mes to higher levels], also have an ele with 25AR I enjoy taking along to level 20’s or under) and would love to help out. I enjoy running them regardless of level, there’s always loot and fun times to be had

You can change crafting professions on a single character. You don’t lose the progress you made with the profession you’re changing out either. All you have to do is go to the other trainer of your choice and ask the npc to make the switch then chose which one you want to drop. It might cost a very small fee depending on how high you had leveled the profession in question should you decide to switch back to it.

You should have that recipe available if you switch to the appropriate profession. Some recipes can be used with any of the armor making professions, so it would let you use it regardless of which one you have.
