Started on T’oast at beta and never bothered going anywhere else. It’s definitely one of the best communities. Plenty of helpful people all over the place to aid in whatever you want to do. If you need help with anything, give me a shout. I’ll be happy to tag along if I’m not busy.

If you’re going to game with a laptop, be sure to find one that has a DEDICATED video card. A lot of the “on-board” GPUs aren’t well suited for it.

I just recently got an ACER Aspire V3-5716-9868 with an i7 and nVidia GT640 from newegg.com, and it runs GW2 beautifully. That one might be a little outside your budget, but there were other similar models that might be within your price range. The only downside that I found was it comes with Windows h8. After some abusing it, it can be made to function at a tolerable level.

Are you sure you only clicked “Represent” on the other guild and not “Stand Down” first? I have rep’ed another guild and when I returned to mine, was still in the Leader spot.

No, you can’t. You only get rewards equal to your personal level. If you do a level 10, while at personal lvl 5, you won’t get the pristine relic or chance for a ring, however, you will still gain a personal level.

Welcome to GW2! If you haven’t picked something yet, I highly recommend Tarnished Coast. Everyone here is very friendly and helpful. Feel free to send me a whisper in game. I’ll be glad to help you out if I can.

You might also want to consider looking for a guild. Finding the right one for you might take a few tries, but when you do, it’s so very worth it. You gain a lot more friends and steady people to explore the game content with.

They seem pretty static at this point. T’oast tends to only fluctuate between “full” and “very high”. It’s a very popular server (and the best one IMO, but I may be a bit biased there). In the meantime, you can always just guest over and still do everything PvE related. The only thing you won’t be able to do is WvsW for T’oast.

Agreed. This would be really great too see implemented in some way. It does get hard sometimes to be digging through your inventory while trying to make sure you’re not about to get eaten by whatever is hidden behind the window.

Hello all you fellow T’oast’rs, and everyone else too

I agree. The emote grey gets very hard to follow, especially when in a busy area that has multiple groups RP’ing or anything else. An adjustment to the shade of grey used would be great.

I’ve been having the same problem. I have 5 EU members and for the past week or so, those that have been in game have often been showing as offline for myself, and some of my other members in NA. All my EU members are on Tarnished Coast with the rest of the guild.

If you are on the NA servers, I will be glad to help out. I currently have all Fractal achieves under my belt. Just give me a shout in game when you want to go, and if I’m not busy, I’ll come along.

As far as what class to bring, that’s entirely up to you. Bring whichever you’re most comfortable with.

If you’re looking to get the gold star next to your name for map completion (plus the Gifts of Exploration, and other rewards), then you don’t need to uncover 100% of each area shown in your screenshot. To get it, you need to complete every heart, find every Point of Interest, view every Vista, succeed in every skill point challenge, and locate every waypoint across all PvE and WvsW maps.

What we did was find a decent random number generator on the internet.
each person sent 1g to a certain trusted individual in the guild, who then assigned a number to each person in the order they sent the mail with the sign up fee ( 1g).
Then the trusted person used the random number generator live (streamed the whole thing) so that all members who wanted could see for themselves. streaming was used to create more trust between all who participated that the winner were selected by random.

I take screenshots of the roll for ours and then post the results on our forum. I use random.org for the number picker.
