Feel free to add me to friends and give me a shout if you want to do some dungeons (as long as you’re on an NA server). I’ll be glad to help.

As far as guilds go, take a peek through the guild sub-forum as mentioned previously. Many guilds have posted their info or you can also make a post yourself with what you’re looking for and guilds will come to you.

Building our own is definitely the way to go as the others have mentioned. My favorite place for computer bits and pieces is http://www.newegg.com I spent around $550 and built a very nice comp last spring. I’d already had the case, HDDs, PSU, Optical Drives and peripherals from the previous build so I was able to go for some better parts on my budget. Newegg has great customer service and the user reviews on the products are a great help when trying to decided between similar parts. http://www.tigerdirect.com and http://www.microcenter.com are two other great sites for things as well. It would be great to be able to make a channel just for guild officers so we can discuss things without having to be in a team together. That way we can continue on doing whatever other things we were doing without interruptions (ie: dungeons, helping others, etc).

I’ll be happy to help out as long as that’s a NA server. Just give me a shout in game.

As SoggyFrog said, starting a guild from scratch is not easy. It really does take a lot of patience and work to get going. If you can hold out and not give up, it will pay off in the end. If you don’t already have a core group of friends to get things going, it will be even slower to start up, but not impossible. Supasilvafoxy also summed it up pretty well. You want to be sure to present your guild in a way that people will want to join it. Be honest with people and the rewards will be better. Down the road once you get things going, having a forum and/or website is also great. There are quite a few free hosting sites out there for guilds residing in just about any game.

If you’re on a NA server, I’ll be glad to help you in dungeons. Just give me a shout in game and we’ll go if I’m free. They definitely can be pretty rough the first time through if you don’t know what you’re doing. I’ll be happy to explain all the fights as we go depending on which one we’ve picked too. I’d also suggest working on normal dungeons before starting Fractals. Those take more serious teamwork and knowing how your class works, especially at the higher levels.

You have to hold alt while hitting the numbers, then release the alt key after you finish.

Finding the right guild can definitely go a long way in helping with your enjoyment of the game. On the other hand, everyone is different. Look over the guild listings in the Guild section here or even make a post yourself about what you’re looking for in a guild. There’s also this thing called Operation: Union. It’s a pseudo-guild that you can join and find people to do things with at just about any time of day.

I’d settle for just having the full emote list that GW1 had… although being able to actually sit on chairs, etc would be awesome too.

Unfortunately not unless you use a transmute stone and re-transmute the previous skin onto it from another piece like the former one. However, doing that, will cause you to lose the guild armor skin in the process (and thus waste the 1g you spent to get it).

Yup, what Applekwisp and Garambola said. Tarnished Coast and Piken Square are the biggest ones, though I think there may be a couple others as well for those that have trouble getting onto TC or PS.

Make sure the “System Messages” box is checked on the chat tab options (from the dropdown on the channel tab, that is). That will let you know when your friends log in or out. Unfortunately, there is no notification of when a guild-mate logs in or out unless he/she says something.

I would buy a plushie Griffin in a heartbeat (and maybe a Quaggan too). They just scream “hug me” and I must listen to their cries.

It’s up to you and how you want your guild that will determine the need for officers. Don’t let anyone tell you different. I find them very useful to have around to help with running aspects of my guild. The size of your guild will also affect the need for people to help you. No one can keep a 100-200 person guild running smoothly all by themselves.

To get started, I’d suggest writing down an outline of things you do and don’t want for your guild. Once you have that very basic structure set up, you can then look for more like-minded people to join you and/or help you lead or build.

Starting up a guild takes a lot of work, but if you can get it going, the effort is worth it. If you don’t have much experience with leading a guild, it might be better to join one for a while and see how it’s done. On the other hand, no two guilds are run the same way. Each one has its own quirks, themes, rules, etc. Take some time to look over various guild websites or even talk to other guild leaders for ideas too. I’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have. Just give me a shout in game (Aria Silverfyre).

If you still need help, feel free to give me a shout too. I’ll be glad to lend a hand.

Question 1: Yes. Though, I wouldn’t use that as a 100% accurate test of inactivity. Some members might just be busy with RL things for a few days after a new build. I use guild application forms in my guild to help keep track of my members (ie: join date, etc).

Question 2: It means that that person was kicked from the guild for whatever reasons the leadership deemed it necessary.

Just checked and yes PvE monthly does have WvWvW for 20 kills you gain completion. …

If it was only 20 kills, it might not be as bad, but it’s 50 kills to complete it.

With the addition of the Daily and Montly PvP achievement rewards, the WvsW kills portion of the general monthly achievement seems unnecessary. Additionally, it is unfair to those who have little to no interest in any form of PvP to be forced into doing something to complete a reward that is primarily PvE based.

Making a separate reward for WvsW (as there already is for sPvP) would make things more fair, and allow more players to collect a monthly reward for the effort that they already put forth.

Looking for a laid-back family that loves RP and doing things together in general? The Aerie may be what you seek.

Confirmed bugged on Tarnished Coast

To join my guild, someone is required to fill out a brief application on our forum. It’s nothing big or lengthy, just a chance for us to get to know a little bit about the potential new member. Our application also lets me keep track of when new members joined because there is a time stamp of when it was posted. I can then look over them with ease to remind myself when they joined to get an idea of how active they are.

We do have a TeamSpeak3, but it’s use is 100% optional. There is also no requirement to be representing us at all times. It’s not our business to tell you who you can and cannot associate with; that choice is yours alone. All we ask is that you give us some time too.

The Gryphons Aerie is a fairly new, small 18+ (16/17 accepted after a sponsorship from another member) PvE/RP guild on Tarnished Coast. While we’re mostly PvE, we also have a few people who enjoy a bit of casual WvsW. We know that RL comes first and stress that fact. We’ll still be there even if you can’t for a bit of time. We enjoy helping each other and doing things together when possible. All you have to do is ask if you need help with something and we’ll do our best to come to your aid.
