To help with narrowing down a summary of your guild, it might also help to consider what sort of people you’re looking for and what you want the focus to be. Do you want to do sPvP, PvE content (map clearing, meta events), Dungeons/Fractals, RP, WvsW, a mix of all of the above? What do you want from your members? Do you want something close-knit where everyone gets to know each other almost like family or do you want something else where you have a lot of members to do things with but maybe not so close?

Definitely make a post here in the Guild Recruiting area and also on a few other sites. Personally, I’m against spamming map chat to recruit. I believe that the quality of the members outweighs the quantity. Those that come by word of mouth or by doing the search themselves via posted guild listings tend to work out better (usually, but there are exceptions of course). Other than that, be patient. It will take some time to get things going, but once you do, it’ll be good.

Be sure to stop by again this Saturday, Sept 14, 2013 from 3-6pm EST (8-11pm GMT) I’ve got some nice prizes and some great classic rock for you all to enjoy. I’ll be in my usual spot at the fountain in Lion’s Arch on Tarnished Coast.

You can craft them if you get the crafting skill of choice (weaponsmithing, tailoring, etc) up to 400. Also, if you’re not finding people on your server doing the meta events and things like that it might be a good idea to look into transferring to a different server or at least guesting to some of the higher population ones. You’ll find more people there to do the dragon events without them despawning on you and other big events too.

I second the vote for Tarnished Coast. We do pretty well in everything.

We’re still looking for more to fill out our PvE side and help us do dungeons/Fractals. Are you patient and willing to help teach people? Looking for a smaller community to call home? Come visit The Aerie, maybe we’ll fit what you’re looking for.

As the others have said, it really depends on you and what your needs are. Every guild is different in many ways. Their rules, playstyle (PvE, PvP, PvX, RP, etc), size, community, etc. It is worth taking the time to scope out the posts in the guild recruiting section on these boards and see if any sound right for you.

Consider what Danicat posted as well. Those are very good things to ask yourself to help you narrow down your search. If you see something that sounds promising, speak with the leaders and/or officer(s) to get a better feel for what they offer.

Good luck in your search for a place to call home. It might take some time to find the right one, but it will be worth it in the end.

The way my guild does a Trek is like this:

1. We gather together all who want to participate and then decide on a Tier from there
2. Everyone loads dulfy.net in their browser of choice on the Guild Trek Guide page so that they can find the locations easily
3. We start the Trek when everyone is ready and everyone calls out the name of the location they are going to. The locations show up on the Guild Missions Tab of the Guild Window (press G).
4. Everyone finds the location on the Dulfy guide and goes to where it is specified, calling out the name of the next location they go to after finding the first one they chose.

For example:
We do a Tier 1. That has a total of 5 locations we need to track down. The list says to find: Altar Brook Lair, Corruption’s Teeth, Elise’s Surprise, Soggorsort Rotunda, Mistriven Shelf.

Someone says they are going to go after “Corruption’s Teeth” and heads to Frostgorge Sound as indicated on the Dulfy list. They use the screenshots and tips to find the exact location needed. The same goes for the other locations until all have been found and “activated” and we win.

I think I might have what you’re looking for in my family. We are called The Gryphons Aerie. We make our home on Tarnished Coast, have about 60 members, we’re close-knit due to our recruiting process, and run on a mostly east coast schedule. We’re primarily PvE/RP with some PvP as well; with members enjoying WvsW and going toe to toe in our custom arena. Participation in RP is not required in any way, nor are any guild events mandatory. For added fun, we also have two Dj’s in the guild who do live radio shows for a community station.

We have a website/forum and a TeamSpeak 3. Our site is at http://www.thegryphonsaerie.com and we make good use of our forum to organize our events and communicate in general.

Our requirements:
- Know that “real life” takes precedence over anything game related (none of our events are mandatory)
- Be at least 18yrs of age
- Fill out our application on our forum to join (it’s just a short “tell us a little about yourself” sort of thing)

TC tends to be sitting on Very High or Full population status, so you won’t be at a loss for seeing people exploring the world, though it seems Orr is dead everywhere. Sometimes you’ll get people doing the camp events, but not as often as it used to be.

Greetings Dark Night,

My guild is called The Gryphons Aerie and we’re a smaller, casual yet social, 18+ PvE/RP family on Tarnished Coast. Some of our members also enjoy WvsW and sPvP. We have our own custom arena we have some fun with too. Knowledge of and/ or participation in RP is not required. We’ll teach you if you want to learn, but there’s no pressure.

We know that RL comes first and stress that fact. We’ll still be there even if you can’t for a bit of time. We enjoy helping each other and doing things together when possible. All you have to do is ask if you need help with something and we’ll do our best to come to your aid.

Don’t worry about trying to transfer right away or even at all. Feel free to guest with us as long as you want. You’ll be able to join with us for dungeons and even Fractals (which I will be more than happy to teach). if you decide you want to transfer, we’ll help you get the funds you need to do so.

There is also no requirement to be representing us at all times. It’s not our business to tell you who you can and cannot associate with; that choice is yours alone. All we ask is that you give us some time too. We do have a TeamSpeak 3, but it’s use is on a purely optional basis. Most of our chatter is on the guild channel.
