I couldn’t agree more. I have never announced my guild in map chat once and people still find us via word of mouth. That’s the best way to know you’ve got something good going. Quality over quantity if you really want something that will stand strong and last for a long time.

That doesn’t mean the huge guilds are better or worse than smaller ones. It’s all a matter of the aforementioned, very important focus and communication. Get those down and you’ll go far no matter how many members on your roster.

Starting up and keeping a guild going, is by no means an easy feat. I also struggled at the start, but I’m glad I kept at it. I’d be more than happy to sit down and talk with potential guild leaders looking to start up their own home and aren’t sure where to start.

I just hate it when that turns bad. When people start blaming each other, when the focus turns from “What can I do better” to “What they did wrong”. And then people start to argue and hurl obscenities at each other, forgetting that there’s another person on the other end of the screen.

I know I may seem completely naïve, having an attitude of “Can’t we all get along?” toward that kind of behavior. I just don’t believe that we should ever forget that there’s a person there we’re being hateful toward.

As a female gamer myself, I count myself lucky that I haven’t had to experience those things but I have heard of them happening. It’s really unfortunate that there are people out there who do things like that. With that said, I think I might have what you’re looking for in a guild.

Tarnished Coast is a pretty good all around NA server. We’re doing well in WvsW, have a very healthy PvE population plus a somewhat more mature (mostly) group of people in general due to being the unofficial RP server.

There is a way to change servers at no cost, however, to do it you need to delete all your characters. Not a big deal if you only have lowbies, but if you have 80’s that might be more difficult.

Strangely, in the first couple beta weekends this option to filter by light/medium/heavy was available. No clue why it was removed, but I would LOVE to see it brought back as well. It would make life so much easier.

I also love to fractal and would be more than willing to join you and help out also. I’m currently at personal lvl 31. Just recently started lvl 30’s so I don’t know them too well yet. Pug’ing is alright, but I would love to have a regular team who doesn’t always skip everything, etc. (I want some more globs/vials/shards, hard to get when you don’t kill things ya know?). Of course, I’m fine with doing any level below that too.

Greetings Erock,

My guild is called The Gryphons Aerie and we’re a smaller, casual yet social, 18+ PvE/RP family on Tarnished Coast. Some of our members also enjoy WvsW/sPvP and we do have our own arena. Knowledge of and/ or participation in RP is not required. We’ll teach you if you want to learn, but there’s no pressure.

We know that RL comes first and stress that fact. We’ll still be there even if you can’t for a bit of time.

We are currently working on building up a solid core of pve players, but there are still a few around who would be more than happy to help teach you if you want to learn and have a little patience. We enjoy helping each other and doing things together when possible. All you have to do is ask if you need help with something and we’ll do our best to come to your aid. I really enjoy Fractals and would be glad to help you learn them too.

There is also no requirement to be representing us at all times. It’s not our business to tell you who you can and cannot associate with; that choice is yours alone. All we ask is that you give us some time too.

We also have a TeamSpeak 3, but it’s use is on a purely optional basis. Most of our chatter is on the guild channel.

Tarnished Coast has a really nice community (I might be a little biased, however, since Ive been on TC since beta). You can guest first to check it out before you decide to transfer.

As far as guilds go, look through the guild section of this forum. Check out those that have posted details about what they are/do/require/etc, or even make a post in the Looking for Guild section detailing what you seek in a guild (pve/pvp/pvx, RP. Small/Medium/Large, etc) and offers will come in. Look through what there are and see what seems like a good fit.
