I get that you are disliking the bugs that a necro has, but as for bad in pve, I don’t see it. My build works perfectly in pve. the skills do 98% of what they are supposed to do and I’m sometimes able to take down champions myself(other times kite them until one other person comes along).
Before you say anything, My necro is lvl 80, geared out in mostly rare/exotic gear, is a semi-hard condition spread necro focused on bleed, poison and weakness spreading as well as kiting. My build consists of a 10/20/10/20/10 trait distribution and weapon sets of staff/scepter+warhorn.
Minion master was only good for the early levels, if that’s your build you should look into becoming a condition-mancer. Not assuming you are, just a friendly suggestion.

Being pigeon-holed into a single play style isn’t “fun”, it’s a requirement… For a game that “eliminated” the traditional roles (healer, dealer, warrior) – it makes the least amount of sense to force (viable) play styles.
I know that, hell I agree with some of the stuff said on here. But a lot of it is whining about the class being useless in PvE, or the weapons being boring. Which it’s not.
The weapons for example. Secpter has an AoE cripple/bleed in one skill, poisons with a skill that does more damage the more conditions are on them. that one weapon alone was meant for pve. you get another kiting cripple skill with just the axe as well. Almost all the weapons are good in pve, however they are mostly directed to condition damage. Necromancers are conditioneer’s. yes there are other things it can do, but if you don’t want to do conditions, then you should just spam 1 for the staff skill, or play a hammer guardian or something.
Conditions are the lifeblood of this profession. If you look back to the videos made by ANet way before the beta’s, they were always about taking the foe down with conditions and kiting them to death.
The only thing I could say that possibly makes them not as great as necromancers in GW1 is the lack of minions being able to be produced, minion related skills, and spiteful spirit.. that skill was my favorite, and not having those things in a gw game seems off. Besides that though, there isn’t a whole bunch wrong with the profession. The skills mostly work as they should, and they hit hard if you are geared properly.
If you dislike playing a specific role, wait for TES:O to come out. Maybe you will get you’re ‘proper’ necromancer fix there.

the second one should have some sort of achievement xD I spent the better part of an hour with my buddy playing tennis with bandit bodies(he was on his thief so he had to steal the skill before we could do anything).

Honestly I don’t understand people’s complaints here. You are transmuting NON-Legendary stats onto a Legendary skin. Sure, you may want the fancy purple colour name, but if that’s the case, then deal with the stats on the weapon or(if this ever happens) wait for another legendary of your weapons type to come out.
Stats determine the rarity, they always have. I don’t see a problem with the name being a different colour. If it’s such a big deal, ANet should look into the idea of more options when transmuting: I.E; Weapon Damage containing the rarity colour, or maybe even being able to choose between which stat upgrades you want on it. An example would be like this:
Example Exotic weapon has 90 precision, 90 power and 90 toughness
Example legendary weapon has 120 precision, power and toughness.
choosing two outta the three gives you the purple colour.
Another factor you have to keep in mind is you are also transmuting the weapon damage here, essentially making the weapon weaker. Would you expect a legendary that’s been weakened(perhaps even further weakened then the prerequisite weapon) to keep hold on its rarity colour? Hell, transmuting anything gets rid of the rarity all together except for the colour(by that i mean it replaces exotic with transmuted).
Just be happy you got a legendary. No need to complain about something as obvious as this. Calling it a bug is like telling a turret from portal a paradox theory. At least that’s what it feels like to me >.<

This isn’t a bug. You are transmuting the Exotic Stats to another skin. Legendary skin or not, the stats are what is important here. You can’t be purple when your strength is equal to orange. Not unless you transmute it into another legendary that is.
Stats are what determine the colour, not the skin. Always keep that in mind when transmuting.

I have had this issue twice now too.
1. I made it in, but I may have hit the side. Showed the Loading screen for the chest room, and then flipped to the LA loading screen.
2. 2nd time, I jumped in, but died mid air. instead of respawning at the loading zone, it ported me back to LA dead.
it happened to me when i jumped in the middle of the box too.. i generally have 2k+ health when i get there too

You get kicked if you touch the sides of the box. Jump straight into the center. If you walk off and drop into the box then you’ll glitch out.

Twice I finished the puzzle, and twice I was kicked back to Lion’s Arch.
Did something get added in the patch where you get kicked after 1 successful run? because that’s how many runs I did before each kick.. no that’s a lie, first run I jumped in the box and was ported to L.A. second run was successful and third run shows the winter wonderland loading screen then the L.A. loading screen.
Anyone else get this or am I alone here?

Don’t know if this has been stated yet(I’m not about to read through 6 pages of comments) but here’s the deal with the puzzle:
There are three paths; Gingerbread, Quaggan and Snowman.
Gingerbread seems to be the easiest path. Reasons:
Gingerbread Path:
1. The candy cane branch jumps are as easy as the Quaggan path.
2. There are two jumps near the candy cane swirls that you can skip snowflakes. be careful and mindful as to which they are.
Quaggan Path:
1. The candy cane branches are the easiest part about this path.
2. There is a large jump via snowflake to candy cane swirl, if you don’t keep moving, chances are you might miss it.
3. I’m not sure if its this path, but there’s a cc swirl that you can jump to that is part of another path. it doesn’t speed up your time though, but incase you are going to miss the last swirl, there’s that extra landing spot.
Snowman Path:
1. hardest path out of the three. Contains cc branches that are hard to get on and easily miss-able.
2. right after branches there’s a hard to land snowflake on an angle and another hard to land small/flat snowflake.
3. quite possibly the slowest path, but not by much.
I honestly hope this helps. I’ve been gathering this information over the last two or three hours.

Speed is the problem. Some players simply cannot do a jumping puzzle quickly, so making them timed automatically eliminates us from ever completing them. I can do the other jumping puzzles because they’re static and I can take my time on them to line up each jump. I still fall multiple times before completing any given puzzle (they are the worst part of the game bar none), but when they simply do not give you time to line up a jump at all, that is just bad design. Twitchmasters and Counterstrike players can pull it off no problem, I’m sure. Then they sit there and offer patronizing comments and explain how easy it all is. Well for some of us it’s not, and invalidating our experience by explaining how it’s so simple and our problems must be because we’re bad players is insulting and offensive.
Yeah speed is the problem for me with these JPs. My reaction time and mouse accuracy are not good enough for these anymore so they’re pretty much impossible for me to complete. Fun to try this one too of course but will be left uncompleted for me just like the clocktower.
have you tried increasing the mouse speed or even getting a faster mouse?
Hehe mouse is fine. With mouse accuracy I ment my own accuracy, not the mouse’s. Faster brain might do the trick
If you need some help, I dont mind doing spekks lab, goemms lab and the eternal battlegrounds jp with ya. Those three, doing them over and over to the point where you can almost do it blindfolded will most likely help with other jp’s

The whole experience so far is filled with win imo. The Snowball Mayham.. amazing tf2 parody. Honestly, I have more fun in holiday pvp events in gw2 then I ever do in regular ones, and the regular ones are pretty darn fun.
The jumping puzzle, awesome! and I totally see where you fixed the issues that the clock tower had. There are some camera angle bugs on the disappearing presents, but I now have a path that works every run. very much like this, and seems more exciting then the clock tower.

howdy folks, i couldn’t even get to do the jump…because every time the jump puzzle loads, all the people were 3-4 jump ahead of me. All i could see is the snow flakes crumbling. I have a reasonably up today computer(i play every day) and broadband access (ATT claims its fiber-optial line). so what am i missing here? is it me? or is it the game? or is it all the other people?
Are you sure everything(hardware wise) is up-to-date? Have you tried other ethernet cables(or actually using one if you go wireless)? Is you’re modem/router up to par with your net? Usually an ISP ‘says’ you get so much but they can never guarantee it. I’m supposed to have 3Mb upload and download but I was barely downloading todays patch. It fluctuated between 1.6Mb/s to 100Kb/s and my modem is brand new.
If everything is up to day, then it’s just your connection to ANet’s servers. I had some slow loads, but never usually that much..

Honestly, and I mean brutal honesty here, if you are having too much trouble with this puzzle, go on a puzzle run. I suggest Spekks Lab, Goemm Lab and possibly the eternal battlegrounds puzzle.
If you can get Spekks lab done in 1-3 tries, goemms down 1-2 tries and get the WvW eternal battlegrounds puzzle done in 20-30 minutes(which now to me is slacking and taking it easy, unless attacked by enemies), then any speed challenge jumping puzzle will be a breeze to you. If you are having hardware/software/framerate issues then timed jumping puzzles are out of the question for you until you upgrade. If that’s not the case, which I’m not saying it is or not, then give up. It’s proven by your thread that it can be done; and that it is easier then the clocktower.
The clocktower was buggy. MAJORLY buggy. which is why it was hard. ANet smoothed it out drastically over the time it was available. It took me 2-4 hours on that to get it done, but I finished it. The Wintersday JP I finished on my 7th try but compared to the clocktower, which after i finished i couldnt finish again for some time, It’s a run in the park.
Train your Hand-Eye Coordination or get better hardware. If you can’t do that then give up on it and get the gifts another way. I mean, right now, its not really worth it for people like you(not meant to be offensive). There are much more productive ways to get 3 gifts.
I apologize if you are one of those with disabilities, But if you are one of those that cries impossible after a few(10-20) tries to any JP.. gtfo and learn the controls in other puzzles. seriously.

Current skill system is not fine, actually, it’s highly restrictive. Essentially your skillbar, in terms of customization, is between 1-2 weapons (since these skills are set by weapon and not individually chosen), 3 utilities (many of which are either vital or bizarrely situational) and 1 elite (chosen from a tiny pool).
To the OP, you’re not the only one who’s had the idea of being able to either choose individual weapon skills (for instance from a pool of “sword skills” or “pistol skills” for each class) or choose entirely different skillbars for existing weapons. It’s a fairly good idea; a good way to keep the current system would be to introduced a high volume of new weapons, each with a unique skill bar. More varied types of bladed weapons, ranged weapons, whatever. It’s no secret that skill variety currently suffers.
I figure that they probably wont add different types of weapons(maybe a scythe if they ever add the dervish class lol) which kinda would suck, but who knows maybe they will. both ideas would be great though. they should look into adding them.
There’s so many skills they have made in gw1 and not transferred to gw2 that it honestly makes me a little sad. All that work into making hundreds of skills and only a small pool of them make it into gw2..

So me and a guildie came up with an idea for the skill system. Instead of set skills, which is awesome yes, add a little more flavor. Example being this:
Say you are a Necromancer, You know your warhorn gives you an interrupt and speed boost. That’s cool and all, but what if you had more options? by that i mean the ability to choose of maybe 4 skills for the two slots. In sPvP that would make it harder for the enemy to predict your skills, even though its limited, it would add another depth of knowledge needed to prevail in sPvP. It would also make GW1 players who are not overly thrilled(and yes they exist) of the weapon/skill system a little more happy. I also would like to believe that it would make the new players transitioning from games like WoW, Tera, and other games of those natures, a bit easier due to the customization of the entire skill bar. Hell it could even lead those people further into the guild wars universe and over to gw1 to get the HoM stuff done.
I’m not saying its currently a bad system. I like it. works well.. but i keep hearing from my friends that there’s not enough skills or customization when it comes to the skills. Hell even I think the necromancer needs some more skills. You can’t really add any other weapons to do this, so this seems like a solution. It could be bad, but everyone I’ve said it to seems to like it. What’s everyone’s thought on this? remember, you would still be limited to skills per weapon, but you would be able to choose which skills go where. You could even have it so that each slot has a set amount of skills like.. 2-3 on some slots and maybe 2-4 on like the 3rd and 5th slots.

The Golem Bankers, it says account bound but my other characters can’t use them.

I’m not struggling too much, its the last and final jump im talking about. Everytime ive gotten to it, and im still trying, i slam my face into the wall and slide down, rather then enter the clock tower like im supposed to.
I’ve done this on my necro, i know the jumps, i have it kitten near memorized where for every 1-4 fails, i get to the end.. and it keeps happening..

I’ve done this on my necromancer with no trouble. Maybe its because he is big, and bulky(he’s human, but with the strong body type).

I say this because I’ve obtained fine transmutation stones via dailies/area completion. You can almost obtain anything from there, so why not the fine transmutation stones as well?

Hey all,
As you may be aware, we cannot approve or review or “vet” any third-party program. Our general statement is that anything that gives advantage is forbidden. There are many utilities that help the player without taking a hit on others, without, for instance, being a detriment to the other players in a match. I’ve heard about certain programs that help disabled players too, and those seem just fine.
In cases like this, I would go so far as to say as long as the profile that binds controller buttons to keyboard/mouse commands is binding one button to one keypress/activation, you are not in danger of incurring a ban. For example: if you press one button on your controller and it executes one weapon skill, it’s okay; if you press one button on your controller and it activates a chain of skills, that’s where you run into forbidden territory.
I hope this helps clear things up for you all.
What about the Pinnacle Program? It could possibly have the ability to do two commands at once if one was to set it up that way. I’m not entirely sure but I think if someone had the know-how, they might even be able to make it do a chain. I know it currently has a double command feature, one where you tap the button and another where you hold it down, but what if someone figures out a way to make it do a chain?
I was just looking at the options in the program now and there is a cycle option in it(idk how to use it, barely used the program other then the intended use). One of the cycles I got in a setup file, which since then I’ve almost changed the entire file around minus cycles, involves moving the cursor from weapon skill 1 though to 5. I think if its set up, they would only need to hit two buttons and they could move though the first 5 skills. three buttons if they wanted a reverse cursor movement I believe.
I plan on fully buying this program because it’s pretty much the best when combined with the motioninjoy program; rarely any problems with it, but would that cycle-ing be enough to get the program on the ’don’t use it unless you want to get banned’ list?

I’ve noticed a couple ‘Account Bound’ Items popping up in my travels that are not Account Bound. First one being the Golem Banker that the pre-purchasers got. after that, there were some items I’d find every so often(I’d name them off but I’m pretty sure I trashed them)
Main concern is the Golem Banker. Is it really supposed to be soulbound? I can understand that, but the tooltip saying its account bound makes me think anyone could essentially stock up on them by making multiple characters(I tried that out just a couple minutes ago by remaking one of my low levels twice to see if it would actually work).

I’ve noticed almost every time I use WoB and combo through it, the remove condition combo DOESN’T remove condition.. now.. If it actually does work but like.. removes a stack, then I guess this post is pointless, and I apologize in advance.

I agree that Prayer of Kormir is probably the best, and I personally thought Rampage for warriors was hella fun xD I remember jumping into sPvP with the default build and trying it out. Had a blast with it though Idk if I’ll be using it on my warrior or not. You might want to try the grenth one out just for the fact that it chills and poisons(i believe), and chill being the main reason to use it(increasing the enemies cd, slowing their attacks/movement, probably a good way to get some more kills in). I, as a necro, don’t really need that, so i never saw it as useful until a thief earlier posted the idea.
