They could add washing lines behind some houses where we can pinch stuff. More likely they’ll just remove cloth from the game instead though :P
the mental image about that is hilarious. Just imagine some dude in armor with glowy weapon snatching your fresh washed cushion covers and cutting them to silk scraps to make armor out of it later. 10/10 would want
Then the NPC owner of the cloth comes out.
“You have a kittening Legendary and full Ascended gear! Leave me my cloth scraps and my dignity!”
Then the NPC attacks, you kill it, and loot it for more cloth~…What? Lots of people want to be eeeevil in this game anyway. Let ’em.
would be funnier if the npc would just throw stuff like flowerpots and rolling pins after you and got plot armor so that you got no other choice then to scram. Seriosly.. why isnt that in the game? XD
There is no rage like a woman who’s undies you are snatching from the clothes line.
She should turn into a champion who one shots the offending players.

If there are only a few in game, there would be zergs of heavily armed people racing over to snatch someone’s freshly washed undies off the line and cutting them up while the homeowner peaks out through the shutters.
It’s not always a few minutes. Wiki says up to 30 for a normal transfer. It appears that because of high demand, OP is taking even longer.
I would just let it run at this point. Give it some more time before you try to do anything and see if it finishes the transfer, or if bugged, if it can get past it.
I can’t really tell from the image, as it’s pretty small even after clicking on it, but I do think that’s the Party panel, and the summons are all listed as “Allies”. When they die, they disappear from the list. At least, that’s how I remember how it worked.
Yah, pretty sure that’s a party panel. However the minion panel is almost identical in appearance (the main difference is the minion’s bars appear and disappear while in combat). The Sprit’s name and health bar appear in the panel when summoned. If they die, they disappear from the panel.
I remember in Guild Wars 1 when I played a Spirt Lord Ritualist, I could call up a panel by hitting the Y key, that had the names of the spirits I had out and their health.
I used that all the time. Keeping an eye on it, I knew when each one died and which were low on health
This picture shows what the panel looked like. (That may be a party panel, but it looked the same. A panel with red bars that had names on the bar for each spirit up. The health was how far across the panel the red bar was).

Broken. It’s a bare bones, poorly designed forum that they are unable to fix.
There is a new heart in Caledon that will need to be done also to get back up to 100%.
I wasn’t aware that a profession’s method of combat was PvE.
So, rangers can’t use pets. Necros can’t use minions. Mesmers can’t use clones/phantasms. Ele’s can’t use elementals. Engies can’t use turrets. Guardians can’t use spirit weapons. Thieves can’t use their elite skill, Thieves guild. That leaves warriors as the only ok PvP choice.
Thanks for clearing this up for us. Any time you have any more insights, don’t hesitate to share them.
The different salvage kits. Okay, I get that the rarer ones have a higher success chance of recovering your upgrades, but I don’t get what chance of rare materials does. Maybe getting ancient wood and orichalcum? Sure doesn’t feel like a 15% chance though, salvaging my whole inventory gets me 1-3 of them.
Like should I be using my mystic forge kit for blues and greens? Or saving it’s charges.
I have yet to figure out the salvage kits and what they mean by rarer materials because I’ve used masters and basic and I get what I would consider rarer mats from both. If there are more with masters I’m not sure it’s enough to cover the cost difference.
Never played that game but one thing I’ve read about the armor in it, is that WoW armor is “painted on” to the character model. If true, I would think that would make WoW armor inferior in looks. Also, maybe these are old complaints and it’s different now, but I also read you can’t dye your armor. Dying can completely change the looks of an armor set.
Learning how to move in combat. (Played Guild Wars 1 where I fought in one spot in PvE. Skills could not be used while moving there).
I watched videos of the game before the betas and came back and told my guildies, “you run around like this while fighting!” (Runs in a circle while they stood and watched and tried to figure it out).
Now when I go back to Guild Wars 1, it’s hard to fight because the first thing I do is start to strafe, which breaks my skill animations.
if there WOULD be a new tier the only way you could make that work is calling it legendary, giving it the same ability like legendary weapons (means changing stats on the fly) and keeping the stats themselfes at ascended. Thats atleast my opinion on it
They could have an exotic tier and an ascended tier, both with selectable stats. I think that would be an interesting way to have new tiers without a direct power raise.
Exotic too? But exotic is so easy to get…and i bet a lot cheaper to just buy the sets you need for your builds rather then to craft the “multi exotics”. Imo ascended would be sufficient…and ascended is more of a grind to make, so to take the bitter pill once and make “legendary\ascended” set settles your needs forever.
One thing, it wouldn’t be a bitter pill once, I have 8 chars, some of which are wearing cultural armor. It would be a minimum of 3 times, one for each profession, and then there would be a problem with switching armors between chars and the look I want then to have and the cultural armor not being switchable between races.
For another thing, not everyone is going for ascended armor (I’m not). A merged exotic set would allow those people to have and wear one set that also has fully selectable stats. People already are keeping multiple sets in their inventory to switch between, depending on what they are doing, I have 3 chars that carry an extra set of armor in inventory for that reason. Merging them would free up inventory space.
Just as a question, how much would it cost in gold and time to make a full set of merged ascended armors with all the available stats compared to a merged exotic set?
A person with exotics can have as much need and want for selectable stats as someone with ascended.
All with the same runes? TBH that’s why I would never really care about selectable stats. Heck I have 2 characters who I keep 2 identical gear sets just for 2 different rune sets (scholar and strength)
My previous post said that this new tier should have selectable runes and sigils also.
With the recent change to the daily, you get more laurels now. It used to be a maximum of 40 every 30 day, one a day then 10 from the monthly. Now, it’s a maximum of 55 every 28 days and if you do the current festival daily, that’s an additional laurel a day
Old way: 1.33 laurels/day
Now: 1.96 laurels/day plus the additional daily laurel from the festival.

A new gear tier I would like is the ability to merge gear to get sets with selectable stats.
Merge a chestpiece (example) with Zerker stats with one that has soldiers. You now can select between the two stats out of combat.
Merge that piece with a rabid chestpiece, now you can select between 3 sets of stats, and so on.
Maybe even be able to merge the sigils/runes on the items to have them selectable also.
As a PvE person, I don’t have any objections to ANet trying to get me to do PvP or WvW in hopes I’ll try it and like it. What I do dislike is making the PvE dailies so super specific. This map, not any map. This harvest in this region, not all harvests anywhere. This meta boss, not any boss. I wp to a map, harvest as little as possible then wp to the next for events, get event run to next, get and run to next….. If I want to do the boss, I might have to wait up to 2 hours.
I’m not a person who worries about immersion, but this negatively effects my enjoyment of the game. I’m checking off someone else’s list rather than playing and getting things done while enjoying what I’m doing.
I used to be able to pick my map and get things done there. Doing events I ran across on my way to harvesting, rezzing NPCs, killing ambients, etc. I might be doing the same things as the current dailies but it felt less forced and artificial.
Well I see the WvW forum has welcomed their specialist. Kind of a rude response if you ask me.
I went over there and read the responses. I would say, he got burniated.
The “welcome” he got was one of the reasons I suggested that they not have a title and that ANet not post their Display names. Imo, the forum specialist would do just as good a job working incognito (since their job is to collect and forward ideas and post responsibly) and wouldn’t have the ire of angry posters focused on them for simply existing.
the low post count and the fact that the posts read exactly the same as an Anet dev isn’t helping to ease the worry over there.
O.o
If he was a Dev, wouldn’t that make him more valuable, not less?
You would be speaking directly to a Dev.
He can easily relay messages and ideas to the right people
He would undoubtably know a great deal about WvW and why things work or don’t work.
He would have easy access to official statements.
It would mean that WvW is getting direct and immediate Dev attention each time he posts. So, tell me. Why would he being a Dev be a bad idea (especially from what I read, no Dev attention in WvW is their main gripe).
Having their own dev would be a very good thing. Having a dev masquerading as just another engaged player trying to help out as best he can would not.
Why?
Dev incognito or not, he’s still a Dev and has more knowledge and access than a regular player.
(Not that I think this guy is a Dev. I just don’t understand your objection)
First, it has been my experience that individual devs do not always, and often dont, have more knowledge than the community.
As to why, because purposefully deceiving the community (and to be clear I am not suggesting that this is what is happening) in this manner seems unlikely to have a motive beyond deflection or misdirection while creating an illusion of community engagement rather than the reality. Kind of on par with employees of a company posting anonymous user reviews of the company/product on sites like Yelp.
All this is why I think the forum specialist should have not had their names announced and a title on the forums. A lot of suspicion about being stand ins/posting with a hidden agenda and ire by angry posters directed to them.
Rest assured, we pay attention to all of the threads.
Not every suggestion can be acted on, but we love hearing what you guys like, what you want, and what you don’t want.
And it’s creative community discussion that will make the game better. Not just in the Gem Store, but in all aspects of GW2. So don’t despair; if you bring up valid ideas, we absolutely notice and discuss them! We definitely try to discuss them with you, too!
Nothing done about the Incinerator on asurans yet :/
My tiny bud still looks like a fireball. HALP. PLIEZ.
How is this a gemstore item?
It’s allowed but if you get ‘scammed’ it’s useless to report it, you do it on your own risk.
It’s not useless to report. The scammed doesn’t get anything but the scammer gets punished and possibly banned.
However they do need proof that an offer was made and accepted. It needs to be in chat or by email, not in team speak or other outside communications.

Problem with fractals is the teaming requirement. Dungeons are also PvE and we don’t get them as PvE dailies so why is it okay with Fractals?.
GW2 is a MMO right? I think that the first M stand for Multiplayer right? Just checking.
In Guild Wars 2, the M stands for Mono.
I know, that it was problem with selling legendary weapons or precursors in LFG and I was trying to make LFG for transporting people on the diving spot.
One player had joined to my party, then he left and I wasn’t able to make LFG anymore because of “excessive message due” or something like this, so I wasn’t sure if I can sell this “Taxi”
The excessive messaging hits everyone who posts in the LFG too fast. It has nothing to do with what you post. It’s fine to sale taxis. It wasn’t fine to sell Legendaries/precursors as they were trying to avoid the trading post fees.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
After comparing the Guild Wars 1 festivals to this one, it’s like a “pity festival”. They threw a bone to us chew on to keep us out of their hair.
How this festival makes me feel:
It’s allowed.
I don’t know if ANet likes it but they said that doing things like selling dungeon paths (for which you need to post on the LFG) is ok.
Here is the posts about selling dungeons on the LFG. By extension, selling taxis to spots is also allowed.
Source Hi everyone,
Just posting to inform you all that selling dungeon runs its NOT against the rules. People are free to do so. Please, exercise extreme caution to avoid getting scammed.
Thanks for your understanding

If it got changed to account bound star I’d want a star added for every character who has map completion done XD (That would be silly and ridiculous looking…up to 12 and working on 13th completion)
Congrats.
I have 8 with stars. The thought of doing it on my 9th (Revenant) makes me want to trudge up to Mount Doom and throw myself inside the fiery pit.
What would be nice would be some sort of title rank where you get the lowest title and work your way up, either for having multiple chars with world 100% or for having one of each profession with 100%.
Here is the Dev post:
Jeffrey Vaughn: Source
Content Designer
“There’s a bigger technical issue—during “in game” scenes, the NPCs are moving around and things are happening (gadgets might be activating, props may be animating, etc.) and if you just skipped all that, it could lead to some really bizarre behavior. Trying to manually set a “failsafe” to teleport the NPCs, fire off effects, etc. to replicate what the world state is if the cutscene plays is extremely tedious and error prone.
That’s why the old style “dialogue cutscenes” (and the fancy but rare full blown cinematic sequences, like the Order movies and racial intros) are skippable, because we aren’t doing anything to the world while the dialogue plays, so skipping it doesn’t have any effect. We’ve moved away from those, because the in-game scenes are a lot more satisfying, but there’s a trade off."
Sorry if this seems daft, but what is this star under discussion? I have a half dozen toons with 100% map completion but am unaware of it.
When you 100% all the maps, that char will have a gold star on the nameplate. If you party up with someone and have them target you, you’ll be able to see the star on your char’s nameplate.
Picture of a char (Cold Velvet) with the star on their nameplate:
The star being character bound was a factor for me also in getting it after my first 100%. It provided that much more incentive to get out there and complete maps over and over again. I would have done it anyway, but there was a bit of pride knowing my char now had a star.
So as i can see, Almost everybody here agree on the fact that time gates should not be used to lengthen the end-game time since it discourage most if not all people that start/restart playing the game.
Most? So far in this thread it’s been you and one other person. I may not be familiar with new math but my old math doesn’t make that most.
Gaile has posted that the first forum specialists have been chosen.
Rising Dusk.2408: Dungeons and Fractals
Marmatt.8590: WvW
Riku.4821: PvE
The Gates Assassin.9827: PvP
Wolfey.3407: PvP
Congratulations. ^^
Everyone I know who quit Guild Wars 2 at release for ~ 6 months did not quit for that reason. They quit for a variety of reasons, but it wasn’t because of time gating. My whole guild pretty much died. Time gating wasn’t why.
I think one of the reasons for gating laurels back when it was introduced was in your post.
“I’m a player that always look for progression in a MMORPG and the character I’m currently playing on must be stronger at the end of the day than yesterday for me to keep playing.”
If laurels weren’t gated, when ascended gear came out players like you would have quickly crafted it then stopped playing. By slowing progress, it keeps these players logging on longer. There wasn’t a reason for ANet to make laurels farmable because players like you would have made their ascended gear and stopped playing faster. Not a plus for them and not healthy for the game.
More people I know quit from things being time-gated than they do from running out of things to do.
And then content locust as that what i see when you say devoted players will turn around and say
- Now what I got all that there is to get in the game and nothing else left to do give me MORE.
Or quit the game another 9 months while they wait for content.A devoted player is like me who played most of of the last two years with breaks now and then, Im sitting on 550 laurels atm and can do the content when ever I want.
“Content locusts”, what an awful saying.
As I said. every hardcore player I’ve ever known to play MMO’s has always quit more due to time-gated lock outs than have quit due to burning out.
Time gated stuff is bad design.
And OP would have been one of those, if he was playing back then, who crafted the ascended gear then quit playing since there was no further progression for his character in terms of getting stronger the next day. If it wasn’t gated he would have finished earlier and quit earlier.
So for these players, gating or not gating makes no difference. They will leave anyway once they reach the power cap.

You can buy a full set of exotic armor with karma from the temples in Orr. Different temples have different stats but they all cost the same 42k karma per piece, 252k karma for a full set. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Temple_armor
If you don’t want to do that, you can get exotic armor and weapons from running dungeons. Either speak to your guild or check the Looking For Group tab for a group that says everyone welcome. Dungeon vendors are in Lions Arch. A double row of merchants on the east side, near the trading post over there. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dungeon_armor
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Looking_For_Group
If you still want to craft, or just want gold, dungeons are a good source of gold. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dungeons
Or you can run dungeons and buy your gear from the trading post, which is probably cheaper than crafting. You can sell the mats in your bank you would have used to craft to make some additional gold.

An interesting tidbit; you could lose the star because of a bug (this actually happened once, some people lost their stars because of a bug) and you might never know. No one will know to tell you and you can’t normally see the star, so it could be gone and you not find out till who knows when.
+1
I love outfits but the shoulders can be a big turnoff. When they are bigger than the head it makes them look ridiculous.
The ability to toggle off outsized shoulders would increase the outfits use and value.
I’m stockpiling stuff, getting ready.
Sufficient tomes, time gated mats (deldrimor ingots and spiritwood planks) made and commendations to get an accessory saved.. I’m planning to run her to Orr and get temple armor then transmute to the look I’ve already picked out. Name is picked out and reserved on an alt. Race (Sylvari) face, hair and glow already decided.
Come on ANet. I’m waiting!!!
It will probably be back next year. It would make sense for it to return each year so people who need it can get it.
(Not that ANet always does things that makes sense)
Please make Masteries Character-bound!
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Astral Projections.7320
8 chars, which I play in turn. Account bound for me. Character bound Masteries would kill my alt use. I would either constantly be redoing previously done content to get needed Masteries, which means people who only play one would be progressing faster on that char while I’m stuck in Groundhog Day (like the movie), or abandoning all except one.

I didn’t look at the size but it only took a couple of minutes to download (at 1 to 2 MB/sec)
I did a client repair once, some months to a year ago. I didn’t note the time but between a half hour to an hour is my remembrance of it.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Maybe you have corrupted files. Try doing a client repair.
Did you switch the language? That will cause a lot of extra files to download.
First 10 minutes wasted on some childrens coloring book no one cared about, gg.
I’m going to chat with Expansion Content Designer Nellie Hughes and Expansion Systems Designer David Webb about the Mastery system. We’ll get an overview of how the system works and what it does
^An outright lie, we saw gliding yes but we saw absolutely nothing about the mastery system itself.
The gliding and new zone was nice to see but the stream was mediocre at best.
Not completely right. She communed at a Mastery point (like a skill point place) when they finally got started and I saw a Mastery point gained icon on the lower right of the screen when she used the cannon/gun on the mordrem below (she commented on it when it popped). And they talked about the thick wings, combat, learning languages and skills from other races, and about how you need to get mastery points to use jumping mushrooms and how you can’t get full credit on all events till you do, and the mushrooms other buffs.

Oh yes, my ranger/ritualist was utterly fearsome with a scythe.
I used a bow on my Ritualist to pull mobs. I loved seeing those one point damage numbers show.
Oh well, it got their attention and made them move.
And this:

1. People actually do change servers, so some Full servers become Very High just from people moving around.
(In other words, accounts moving from one server to another)
2. We continuously monitor the World populations and make adjustments, but there is no scheduled update period. It depends on demand for particular worlds and how much people move around and (don’t forget) how many new players join specific worlds.
3. We frequently adjust the World population caps just before events, but that’s not guaranteed.
The servers are full due to the number of accounts calling it their home server. If accounts transfer off you can get on it.
It’s not good to spread around theories that have no evidence.
Show me yours then. Actual red quotes or wiki posts, not your personal anecdotes or your theories. Because I can post quotes that back me up.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Server-Populations/first
“Connor, when you see a server FULL means that the people who’ve chosen that server as theirs, or players who have moved to that particular server, have reached the cap, independently of where did they create their accounts.”If they’ve chosen that server, that means they chose it at character select and their account is there. The comment about where they created their account means you can create an account on one server then transfer that account to another server.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/World
“You cannot move to a world that is listed as Full. However, that status varies throughout the day and tends to drop during off-peak hours, i.e. if you are unable to transfer, try again when there are fewer people playing, e.g. extremely early in the morning for the region’s datacenter, i.e. 0400-0600 UTC for the EU.”That is active population. Case closed.
Yep. Because all you’ve been able to offer is personal anecdotes and random theories. When you have real quotes/facts to back you up, please speak up.
I just highlighted your post which proves that it is active population. It’s not my fault if you refuse to acknowledge it.
If it was based on population, then the game would refuse guesting also. A full server would be unable to be guested to.
Ok. Let’s say someone wants to transfer. What are they transfering but their account? If the game refuses to allow them to transfer on the basis that is is full, it’s because it’s holding all the accounts it’s allowed to hold. It’s only until accounts transfers over to a different server that spots open up.
They do this throughout the day but at night the new spots aren’t grabbed as fast as during the day (less people trying) so the spots stay open for a longer period of time. Making it easier to get that spot that opened up, which would be immediately taken during the day time.
That is your own speculation. My theory has already been proven, by your own post nonetheless, so this discussion is over.
If it was based on population, then the game would refuse guesting also. A full server would be unable to be guested to.
Not necessarily. It could only restrict new people transferring to that server, but not guesting because it’s sort of a ‘free test’ kind of thing. Not allowing new people to permanently transfer there to control server population. There is room for both theories to co-exist here.
It’s accounts that transfer, not characters. If you try to transfer an account and the game refuses because the server is full, it’s because that server can not take one more account.
If you guest, your account stays on your home server. It’s not transferred over. Which is why a character can guest to a full account but an account can’t transfer to one.
