“Connor, when you see a server FULL means that the people who’ve chosen that server as theirs, or players who have moved to that particular server, have reached the cap, independently of where did they create their accounts.”If they’ve chosen that server, that means they chose it at character select and their account is there. The comment about where they created their account means you can create an account on one server then transfer that account to another server.

Case closed.
Yep. Because all you’ve been able to offer is personal anecdotes and random theories. When you have real quotes/facts to back you up, please speak up.
I just highlighted your post which proves that it is active population. It’s not my fault if you refuse to acknowledge it.
If it was based on population, then the game would refuse guesting also. A full server would be unable to be guested to.
Ok. Let’s say someone wants to transfer. What are they transfering but their account? If the game refuses to allow them to transfer on the basis that is is full, it’s because it’s holding all the accounts it’s allowed to hold. It’s only until accounts transfers over to a different server that spots open up.
They do this throughout the day but at night, even though less people transfer, the new spots aren’t grabbed as fast as during the day (less people trying to get in) so the spots stay open for a longer period of time. Making it easier to get that spot that opened up, which would be immediately taken during the day time.

Ranger. Been “lol cakewalking” through the Living Story with it. That ranged burst dps though.
is it bad?
I was doing the personal story in my guardian. I switched over to Ranger. The pet keeps the dumb AI occupied while I hit it at range and the speed boosts the ranger has has been useful at times.
Sure. No problem says ANet. Gem store or in game? Then you better get on your knees and pray for gem store because Gwyenifred says HI! (Drop rate, one in 200,000 bags, account bound, so unsaleable by those who don’t want it or the few that get 2)
And if anyone doesn’t think they won’t make the drop rate that low again, I have some nice marsh land to sell you with only minor crocodile problems.
You mean alligator right?
Nope.
“All crocodiles are semiaquatic and tend to congregate in freshwater habitats such as rivers, lakes, wetlands and sometimes in brackish water and saltwater”
I also didn’t say where the marsh was. A few thousand miles, across the world travel, only enhances the value of my property I’m trying to sale. ^^
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Yah. It could be both. I guess we will have to wait for a more detailed explanation.
I may actually save those then for when the expansion comes out. They’d be useful for progressing the masteries.
But how would they progress the Masteries? Is was my understanding that points were gained by doing specific content, such as points for doing chapters of the Personal story. That they are much more like achievement points.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mastery
“Mastery points are spent on selective Master tracks; they are earned from completing various goals within the game, but they may only be spent at level eighty.”https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/reimagining-progression-the-mastery-system/
“When this ability is unlocked, your character’s experience bar will change to become a Mastery training bar while in PvE zones. This bar will track your progress on training the Mastery track you currently have selected, showing both the abilities you are training toward and those already earned from the track. (Snip) Because the Mastery training bar completely replaces the experience bar, players who’ve reached level 80 will no longer gain levels but will instead train Masteries.”So my understanding is, after you hit 80 you no longer gain XP and mastery points are from completing content. I wouldn’t expect the Lunar fireworks to affect this.
Re-read the second part you quoted. I bolded what was relevant. A lot of people have missed there are two aspects to progressing masteries.
Yah. It says that the bar will progress without saying what progresses the bar.
What I’m basing my question on is this part:
“Mastery points are spent on selective Master tracks; they are earned from completing various goals within the game, but they may only be spent at level eighty.”
Where it looks like achievement points. So if (random number here) it requires 10 points to fill the bar, you will have to complete goals which give you the points to fill the bar (one reported way was doing the personal story sections. You get mastery points for doing those)
“To train a specific Mastery track, you must first unlock it by spending Mastery points. Mastery points are awarded for completing various pieces of game content. Things like completing a chapter in your personal story, completing certain achievements, reaching hard-to-find locations, overcoming challenging encounters, excelling at adventures found within the Heart of Maguuma, or earning 100% completion for a map will award Mastery points. "
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/reimagining-progression-the-mastery-system/
Which makes the Mastery points sounds like achievement points, not XP, filling the bar.

Or expand the staff skins to use the underwater weapons. Some of them are really nice and all are underutilized.
Heck, make the underwater Legendaries a staff skin also. The Kraitkin as a Legendary staff would be awesome.

Might be a month for all we know. I don’t think they have anything else to take its place, no Living Story chapters to release. They could conceivably leave it up for that much time. But I would assume 2 weeks.
Try using those fireworks you get from the festival. They say there is a small boost to experience. Should work for that.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lunar_New_Year_Firework
Upon use, it grants Ram’s Reward, a 10% bonus experience from all sources, for 5 minutes. The effect duration stacks up to 2 hours.
Wouldn’t you just ask for a higher cap again once you reach the new one due to rushing?
^
People will just rush to hit the new cap, then come to the forum, complain that they have magic find sitting in their banks and ask for the cap to be raised. Much better to ask for magic find be used in place of other ingredients in the mystic forge or in new recipes.
How about in cooking to make food items with higher magic find or a speed boost or something.
I would think impossible to guess as newer updates write over old portions of older updates, so it wouldn’t be possible to simply total up old updates, even if someone had those numbers.
Not that specific look, no. That’s light armor from the Twilight Arbor Dungeon. Your ranger would need to use the medium set.

I give the bags from personal story on my level 10 to my level 80 to open. Usually I only get level 80 blues but I once got an exotic.
If you have a mid ranged char, you could always use that one to get those mid level mats.
The glove box is a rare drop from Bandit chests or the greater Nighmare pod. One is also available if you do the sPvP reward track. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Carapace_Glove_Box_
The boots are a rare drop from a bandit chest. It unlocks to purchase if you do the Ambassodor’s aid achievement.
Assist Ambassador Ikkhit’ch by defending the skritt territory from bandit raiders.
Reward: Boot Requisition Order
Coat: wiki says its a drop from defeating the Mordrem Vinewrath. It says nothing about needing the story first, which may be an omission.
I would bet a figure with a beer belly would have clipping issues. Just as there are already clipping issues with some Charr faces protruding through helms.
He was saying that if you threw in random combinations of gear into the mystic forge, it’s possible that one of the items you can get are those shoulders. However results are random and it’s quite possible to never get them or only get them after much time and effort.
It is rather underwhelming. To the point I wonder why ANet bothered to release it.
If it’s supposed to be similar to the June dragon festival in Guild Wars 1

Shing Jea Boardwalk, Dragon Arena, and Rollerbeetle Races open.
4 quests
1) The Rampaging Yetis (rewards 40 Victory Tokens)
2) The Shrine of Maat (rewards 50 Victory Tokens)

And 7 missions

2) Jaya Bluffs
3) Tsumei Village
4) Seitung Harbor
5) Tsumei Village
6) Seitung Harbor
7) Shing Jea Monastery
Then a finale event at the end.
If it’s supposed to be similar to the Canthan New Years in Jan/Feb
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Canthan_New_Year
Each Canthan New Year will make the Shing Jea Boardwalk, Dragon Arena, and Rollerbeetle Racing available for use as well. Lunar Tokens also randomly drop from PvE foes for the duration of the event.
Quests
1) Hapless Chong
2) Just My Luck
3) Coordinator Tahyaa
4) Fire in the Sky
5) The Big Bang
6) Hai Len
7) Hopeless Romantic
8) Ikura
9) Take My Sister, Please
10) Johai Sohn
11) The Knights Who Say Nian
12) Elder Nofuun
13) Douse Your Enthusiasm
or
14) Fehj
15) A Burning Desire
As well as the big cook off where people gathered ingredients around the world:
Several chefs stand in Shing Jea Monastery. They collect specific ingredients during the finale. For each ingredient your character turns in, you receive a Lunar Token from that chef.
And 3 fully decorated towns.
As I said, a trifle underwhelming and I’m not sure why they even bothered.
I think if someone else has the game on their computer you can copy it with something like a flash drive and transfer it that way. I have no idea how long that would take though, not being very computer literate.
That was a mini from back when the island of Southsun was put into the game with its Living Story section. While they might one day bring it back, I wouldn’t expect it for a long time. You’re better off saving up and buying, as the price will only go up as supply drops.
No, not anymore. When they did drop back then they were way cheaper.
The gloves are Radiant armor which is earned with achievement points.

Now I need a char named, Nuclear Harp.
I lolled. People were gathering around to watch that. (And I would have too).
Someone said (didn’t check it myself) that you could also switch chars and get a new set of fireworks.
Wow the only Dev reply of all the issues is a issue about a gemstore item… I get it’s your income, but kitten . Where’s the attention to the gameplay issues ?
Actually Gaile Gray isn’t a Dev. Her job seems to be more like Customer Relations. (Communication Team Lead). One of the things she does is read the forums. She answers some questions or refers people to the correct place to post and she also takes notes on feedback threads to pass on the information.
Did you find a storyline where it specifically said that they were the rewards? I went through and looked and didn’t see it listed as a reward for a personal story completion.
[Suggestion] Warrior's new weapon -> Staff?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Astral Projections.7320
The big problem is that warriors already have nearly every weapon in the pool. All that’s left is dagger on either hand, pistol on either hand, scepter, focus, staff, torch and short bow. Without changing the base functionality of the magical weapons, it’s pretty much down to short bow, daggers or pistols; even torches seem somewhat magical in most of their functions. As we know a new weapon type isn’t coming in, that gives us very little scope to play with.
Just to play devil’s advocate, maybe the warrior won’t be getting a new weapon. That’s not to say that the warrior won’t get fun toys to play with. Perhaps the F2 skill is a burst skill for the off-hand weapon. This even means two-handed weapons like the rifle and hammer would get a second burst ability. That might just be enough to keep warriors happy and trying new weapon combos.
That’s an interesting idea. Since they do have so many weapons already and videos have shown an F2 skill, maybe all the warriors weapons will get some sort of extra burst skill when the warrior specializes instead of another weapon.
Most of the starting chars have a melee weapon. Guard has mace. Warrior has sword. Thief has knife. Ele has knife. Mesmer has sword.
Iirc it’s impossible to either die or be downed in the starting instance. It would be nice to have ranged weapons at start out but I guess they have their reasons for choosing melee first. Maybe it’s because those are (or were) the highest dps weapons.
I think it’s really lovely. The fabric detail work is beautiful.
I do wish though they could tone down the shoulders on the male outfits. As usual they are outsized.
If the item acted as a potion and changed the char to a standard model? That’s what it sounds like OP is talking about, not a change where you get to chose what your char looks like.
Some of the Asuran models have a belly on them, they’re rather tubby. Be a beer swilling Asura who was raised by Norns.
These are ppl because of whom we don’t get armor skins anymore.
I am not impressed. You just got carapace/luminescent, in game. They are coming out with the Rytlock armor with the expansion and there is another set for all 3 armor weights being worked on (as shown by That Shaman’s data searching). Allow the people who like outfits to enjoy them without being the proverbial wet blanket.
Just because some guy datamined sth doesn’t mean we’re getting it. Still waiting for this polearm datamined 2 years ago
He’s been updating the new armor sets, and recently too. The last update, medium armor modeled on Asura and Charr, was 9 days ago.
And it’s still no reason to be a wet blanket when someone is posting something they like. Try holding back your own disappointments and try being happy for them maybe,
I suspect it’s aimed towards the Chinese players also. The new outfit, for example, is not really Canthan but imperial China. Red lanterns: Chinese. Dragon masks data mined: Chinese.

Staff. Every single new specialization is a melee staff.
I know they said other weapons, but they were just teasing you. It’s melee staff for all.
I wonder what his specialization (and his weapon for that) is? Maybe he has a non magic specialization.
I’ve learned that when ANet says rare they mean, “Dream on, you’re not going to get it”
When ANet says very rare, they are saying, “HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ROFL” (while pointing at player trying to get the item).
Keep your money in your pocket when it comes to ANet’s rare/very rare RNG items.

(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Ok, how many want to bet this exotic minipet will be in some sort of RNG container with a low drop rate, say one in every 200,000 containers opened?
Don’t worry, you’ll be assured it’s dropping as intended.
You mean the account bound recipe that had a chance to drop from a Rich Dragon Coffers that cost 100 gems to get one coffer or 2000 gems to get 25? That recipe?
One of us here is in love with RNG (and it’s not me).
Can somebody post what a male Norn look like in this from front?
Here you are. Sorry for dull dyes, Altdragg’s into earth tones and I didn’t want to undo his dyes for the outfits he’d actually wear.
Wow. He looks great.
I bought one for my chars also. It’s a beautiful outfit.
I just turned on the game to do some farming and saw a new patch. A festival!
Farming can wait.
I’d like to see an official Anet response to this.
Like what? Will “We plan to resist the evil empire till the last Dev falls at the barricades, at which time Guild Wars 2 will auto destruct” do as a response?
This is just standard maneuvering for financial advantage inside a company. It’s nothing the lawyers haven’t encountered before and doesn’t need ANet to hold nervous forumites hands and murmur soothing words.
I have visions of day one, the gates of the new expansion open and a flood of people run through the doorway. Some of them are Tome leveled 80s, tripping over their own swords as they run alongside the old regular leveled 80 professions into the new maps, reading their tooltips as they run, before they encounter their first mordrem mob. Meanwhile, back in old Tyria, a horde of level 2 Revenants flood into the starter maps, autoattacking frantically as they try to NPE level the old fashioned way.
I’ll be an hybrid of that scenario.
My Revenant will be a lvl 80 in the starter maps
I want to learn how to play the new class, but you don’t need to be low level for that, right?
I admit I’m going to be a tome baby who also plans to learn in the old maps first. Actually I plan to run up to Frostgorge where there is a number of yellow mobs who will stand there patiently waiting while I read through my tool tips and select my skills before I start the attack (and a big advantage is, they won’t melt like a starter zone mob with one hit).

Their dungeon team was disbanded some time back. I doubt they are going to reassemble them or rebalance the dungeons they have from a 5 party difficulty to include a10 party difficulty. The raids I think they are planning to do will be Tequatl/Three Headed Wurm like open world raids.
