They need to fix the armor first imo.
I made normal weight female chars, Norn and Sylvari, at first. I ended up going back and giving them all the skinniest possible build because the way the armor looks on them is awful from the waist down. The outfits flair out so much, they looked like they gained 50 pounds in the hip area. I had to slim them down so they look merely sedentary.
Key farming on a regular consistent basis got me a bunch of these. Typically by the time I did enough key farm runs to get one ticket, I got a black lion salvage kit also.
It’s something they said back in the days when they were young and naive, before they realized that every word would be scrutinized, considered to be a verbal contract, and then taken out of context and twisted around to support the argument De jour.

Maybe it’s a nod towards their Chinese players, for whom it really is the Year of the Ram. It’s a little strange they should throw that into a live stream for a Western audience but I’m not seeing anything outside that (unfortunately).

I finally have the race picked out (Sylvari, because of the glow) but the name is a different matter. I have 4 possible names picked out and I like them all.
The life of an altaholic is a difficult one. ;(
I’m disappointed.
I thought OP was going to ask for a Legendary bow with Legendary male parts on it.
(Sadly leaves thread).
They are swamped now from what I hear. It’s it been 7 days since the last time you got a response you can post your ticket number in the stickied red thread above.
It’s not that bad once you learn it. Once stealthed, go along the right hand wall, bypassing that one NPC. There are about 3 flags back there. The last one will get you unstealthed so either get them then run back to the heart NPC or just do the 2 safe ones where no one can see you.

With a much better halo than the crappy one they made for this game, I might add.

Content gating and a gear score dressed up as the “mastery” system, I won’t be buying!
/shrug
Sounds like you will either be moving on to another game or spending the rest of your gw2 gaming time running (and rerunning) old content in the original maps. If this works out the way they want then this is the future for this game. Any new maps will feature further elaborations of the Mastery system, meaning you won’t be going there either and will be stuck in the old content.
Sounds boring to me. I guess I’d be moving on if I had your view of the matter. Hope you find your mmo without content gating.
It’s ok but I prefer my Flaming Dragon Sword.

I gather they are extremely swamped and the ticket turnaround time is way more than the max 3 days that it was. I gather it’s closer to a week now.
You should have gotten an automated response. If you didn’t get that check your junk and spam folders. If still not in there, read this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Not-Getting-Our-E-mails-Hotmail-Yahoo-Gmail-Comcast/first#post3785262
I doubt you’ll get a clarification. However I would expect the tomes to be either reworked before hand or afterwards. Too many people are getting them in the login or PvP rewards for them not to.
And those who dont buy expansion?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Astral Projections.7320
Let’s be honest though: customers not spending money on their game isn’t exactly the focal point of developing an expansion. Not a bad thing, just a business looking to remain profitable.
That said, I’m sure there will be stuff for people who continue to play for free. Just won’t be a priority.
Based on the last two day’s info I won’t be getting this expansion and I spend a lot of money on this game!
Then you’ll have spent money, but are unable to get the expansion stuff. I spend my share on Gem Store stuff as well, but I understand the expansion is its own thing.
Yeah, I understand and accept that. My only point was that there are a lot of people who have been “supporting” the game that didn’t ask for, and don’t want, this expansion.
There were people who supported WoW faithfully all those years who neither asked for nor wanted The Mists of Pandaria. But when it came out, subscriptions climbed back over 10 million, making it a success for WoW. Even now in the WoW forums with a new expansion ongoing, I see threads saying they miss that old expansion.
Obviously some won’t want this expansion. That doesn’t mean that it’s a lot of people like you suggest though or that it’s not something that is financially good for ANet.
[Suggestion] Warrior's new weapon -> Staff?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Astral Projections.7320
While a pistol is a possibility, it just seems a little pedestrian and dull.
The ranger, for example, becomes a Druid and now has a staff. Something that is completely different than his previous weapons. The engineer only had ranged, now it will have a melee weapon, maybe it has AOE fields with the attacks. The Mesmer has shield. I can see that as magical protection fields. Maybe not too different from what it has now, but more intensely so.
The pistol for warrior though, they already have 2 ranged weapons. This is too close, imo, to the rifle.
I mentioned the scepter as a bit of a joke, but maybe ANet thought outside the box. Perhaps the warrior’s new specialization is more magic based. Perhaps it has a weapon to lays down buffs on allies and debuffs on enemies as well as an AOE field.
I would assume that tomes would have to be reworked, otherwise they would lose a chunk of their value.

Posted by: Astral Projections.7320
Personally, I think pistols are more likely, as Rytlock has been caught using a pistol on occasion, or I think daggers could be a candidate. I don’t really feel any of the other weapons seem to fit with Warrior.
Scepter.
Skills
1) Hit them
Hit them again
Hit them so hard your scepter breaks
2) stab with the broken end (causes bleeding)
3) use the handle to block next attack.
See, a perfectly good warrior weapon. ^^
I’m a role player because I make up stories to go with my characters. But I’m not in the crowd of role players that emote. It’s way cute and I love them for it but I’m just not into communal rp’ing. My OC’s are miinnne alooone.
The non-role players are all those jerks screaming at the rest of us, “Just play the stupid game already!” They couldn’t remember what color their character’s hair is but they could list stats so fast NASA couldn’t keep pace.
Lol. I’m not a role player. Don’t have a role playing bone in my body. It’s interesting to find out I’m one of the jerks screaming at the other people in the game.
I learn something new about myself every day. ^^
Perhaps sweeping comments about a whole player base are a trifle inaccurate and judgmental?

I’m always me. I’m never the pixels I’m piloting around. The only reason my chars even have a name is because the game demands it. Otherwise, I would no more name them than I would name the spark plugs in my car.
As to what I do, I enjoy seeing the scenery. Talking to people. Attempting to do the things in the game that are impossible in real life.
Wonderful. Thank you.

“4. Master Combat: The Heart of Maguuma will be home to some of the most challenging combat in Guild Wars 2, and Masteries will give you the tools you need to excel in these fights. Hunt new enemies, master abilities to defeat champions, and become more deadly against the new creatures waiting in the jungle.”
My take on it:
I read this as needing the tools the Mastery system will give you to fight the new mobs and bosses. Regular “trash mobs” will stay the same but new mobs that you encounter will have new attack mechanics that you will need special skills to fight. Like in the old system where you might need to have stability on your skill bar to fight a particular fight, the new system will give you new skills or innate abilities to counter these new attacks.
It might be the new system with more intelligent AI ANet is going to talk about in March and you’ll need new skills to handle the more intelligent AI.
http://schedule.gdconf.com/session/building-a-better-centaur-ai-at-massive-scale
That’s how I’m reading it.
Ok, but at the same time, it seems like everyone who has an 80, and especially has been playing for a long while will be starting the game with a nice big chunk of Master Points. On the same note, new players will potentially be earning Mastery Points long before they ever reach the point where they can start using them.
Once you have Mastery Points you’re just leveling up your Mastery Track like you were leveling up your level before. It’s only a grind if you make it a grind. It’s as casual or hard core as you want it to be, without requiring you to do a raid every Wednesday with your entire guild to have a chance at maybe getting that one piece of gear you need to increase your gear score by 5.
Well the problem I’m seeing is that combat will be gated. That is a huge turn off for me. Like I said I could be 100% wrong but from the looks of it its seems like I would have to grind out a Mastery to be able to fight a certain boss/mob.
In the current game you can make your way to Frostgorge or Orr without being a high enough character level to fight efficiently. You can get there, but the mobs will one shot you. That’s what it sounds like here. The lower your (Mastery) level, the harder, to impossible, it will be to fight certain mobs. It’s leveling without leveling.
In other words the game already has combat gating.
We are talking about gating end game content here. Not lvling content.
I’m making a comparison. The mastery system is ANet’s answer to MMOs raising the level cap by 10 with each new expansion and wiping out your gear that you worked so hard for.
Why is it acceptable to gate combat by raising the level cap and invalidating all your gear in other MMOs but not acceptable to have a gate through this Mastery system which allows you to keep all your gear?
This way you get to progress your character and make it stronger without wiping out old progress.

That’s what I did with all but one of mine. The rewards on any one run aren’t that great but if you get a ticket you can pick out a nice weapon skin, either for yourself or to sell. And it’s not like you’re going to use up those scrolls leveling alts. Might as well get some benefit from them.
as I said I’m not gonna delete any of my 5 chars so to do what you say I need moar slots
I bought a character slot when it was on sale and so I use it for a key runner. I love the weapon skins I gotten with it and the boosters, bank accesses, revive orbs, mini pets, trading post accesses, hair stylist kits, make over kits, dyes, merchant expresses, transmutation charges, bonfires, primers, boxes of fun, novelty backpacks and black lion salvage kits are a nice plus also.
Really? ANet thought this? Is there even one player out there who read the requirements when this was released who thought, “Good idea, this will definitely encourage more build experimentation.”
If you did, speak up now.
Well I used weird trait builds when leveling because I didn’t have any choice. It was this near pointless trait, or no trait. I often opted for just putting one point in every line just so I get something, since I didn’t have enough traits unlocked. But yeah… I like running around in a small area hoping a champion spawns. =(
Yah. A “junk build”. I had those with the old system also but for a different reason. I (everyone) got trait points before the next tier unlocked so I just put points anywhere until it did. However I didn’t consider those to be a build I was experimenting with and “junk builds” made of bits and pieces and not a coherent, well thought out build, falls into the same category.
Hopefully the new system will allow you and the others to finally get a decent build.
One thing that astounded me back when this was released was this little gem: (Source)
“A tweaked trait system will shift the focus away from set character progression, towards a flexibility that ArenaNet hope will encourage more build experimentation.”
Really? ANet thought this? Is there even one player out there who read the requirements when this was released who thought, “Good idea, this will definitely encourage more build experimentation.”

(Crickets)
Yah, that’s what I thought.
My immediate thought when I read that line back then is that its design would do the exact opposite. It would at best encourage people to get one build and one build only. Now from what I hear it doesn’t even do that. Many new players either don’t know about traits or consider the trait system optional or for people who need help because they aren’t good at the game.
If I and just about every player in the game could immediately see problems with this system, why couldn’t ANet and what does this tell us about their ability to design features and their ability to discuss perceived problems with each other?

Yes OP. There are people in the world who have never played a game before and learning how to move around and use skills in a virtual world can be overwhelming.

If you were getting 2 a week, you were getting waaayyyyy more than the average. One exotic every month or 2 or 3 is closer to what most people get.
Welcome to our world.
Really? Hm. I’d assumed my drops were standard and average, as my friend I played with was averaging the same.
And when mine suddenly dropped off and his didn’t, well….
I typically average one, maybe two a month (maybe) and I get more than the people I play with.

I’m not even sure why they have this forum. Red posts are as rare as rain in a drought year. I see players trying to help each other, but in most cases it’s the blind leading the blind. People post here, a few get helped. Many posts eventually slide off the front page, unhelped. :/
All I can suggest is, make a ticket and then compose your soul to patience. It will be a week or more as they are swamped.

"Challenging" content in open world concern

Maybe it has to do with this. Building a Better Centaur: AI at Massive Scale
“Today’s MMOs often have hundreds of types of agents in their game world – each with potentially dozens of actions they can take. Hand crafting the AI for every agent can be a time-consuming process fraught with brittle, unpredictable results. Often, the only way to achieve the breadth of characters is to sacrifice the depth of behaviors that they can take. This session will show a new architecture that combines a modular, utility-based AI system and a powerful influence map engine. With it, agents are not only far more intelligent than prior iterations, but use significantly less processing time. This allows us to put not only smarter creatures in the world, but more of them as well. We will also show the tools that allow designers to create unique, expressive behaviors for hundreds of character types in a fraction of the time that it previously took – often creating new, unique character behavior packages in minutes rather than hours!”
Takeaway
“The attendee will learn how the architecture was created atop ArenaNet’s Guild Wars 2, and leave with ideas on how to craft their own system that allows robust, dynamic and varied behavior in agents, but still offers quick, flexible iteration.”
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
“The first steps are to clear out enough space for the Pact forces to breathe and to organize the survivors. From there, you’ll need to work quickly to capture territory and shore up defenses, driving into ancient ruins to force back the enemy horde. Securing the high ground is key because it allows the Pale Reavers to provide fire support during the second phase of the map—nightfall. "
It says NIGHTFALL!!!
It’s confirmed!!! We’re getting there on the second phase of the map!!!
Good troll, good. Him a good troll. “Pats troll on head”.
(But funny. Made me laugh).
I’m going to tome to 80 as well. I don’t know why everyone keeps insisting that this won’t give as good a grasp on the profession as if I were to level the normal way. I would have the same amount of time spent playing as the profession as the ‘slow’ levellers except I would also be practising with all the skills rather than a select few. I want to hit 80 then experience the new content on the new profession
^
Slow leveling is best for those learning the game. There is no real reason for veteran players to spend several levels learning the details of autoattack and not having even one utility skill till level 13. Imo, a veteran player will learn better with access to all skills to try out and learn.
It’s the NPE, New Player Experience. New characters are limited in certain aspects of the game until they level enough.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-fresh-start-the-new-player-experience-in-guild-wars-2/
Consider yourself lucky. They used to disband guilds with names that were against TOS, not rename them. Those people lost everything. You only lost a name.
As to ANet’s official position: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-naming-policy/
“We do not permit names that:
Have offensive racial, ethnic, national, or cultural connotations”
In the English language, your guild’s name has an offensive cultural connotation because one of its meanings is an insult word referring to people of lower intelligence. For that reason, your guild’s name was against TOS and was changed once reported.

I don’t know but I’ve seen one other thread a day or two back where a guy was trying to transfer and he said he was seeing one server configuration and his friend was seeing another.
If your computer is showing that the server is open, let her type in her login into your computer and give it a try.
I’ll be one to speed level it, the npe is a pain in the backside, and being able to finish what ever trials I need for the traits quickly. Something I noticed in the first page, is that people think by speed leveling you won’t get a grip of the class. This game isn’t difficult at all, playing it boils down to reading all the traits, reading your skills and getting used to said skills, and then forming your build with what you’ve done. So, no, speed leveling shouldn’t cause anyone issue with learning the class.
^
In addition, getting to immediate level 80 gives you that much more time to get your traits in whatever new way ANet thinks up with the start of HoT.
So, am I the only one who wants toys enabled in WvW for fun?
No. But they used to be useable in WvW and were taken out because people were able to use some of them to gain an advantage. For that reason they won’t be put back in.

Try renaming it?
If Gw2Setup.exe goes directly to the login screen without showing the install button, rename Gw2Setup.exe to Gw2.exe and move it to where you would like to install the game and then run it.
