As an Ele, I feel the exact opposite. I’m super excited and happy about this. Perhaps it’s because I’m a staff ele, but this one /is/ focused on support stuff, right? Which is kinda what staff is meant to be better at than other weapons…
shrug I really really like my ele though, and for the hundreds and hundreds of hours playing him I’ve never felt under powered, not even in PvP.

Not really. For soloing PvE bosses or arena fights, etc, yes, but not really for general play or pvp.
The cooldown will be something daft like 120seconds.
I could see use of this in various situations and yes, knockdown would make more sense.
80 is double Line of Warding’s cooldown, which is how Anet tends to balance to balance ele skills

Neither of which is actually living story. SAB is a game type they stick in when ready to keep us busy when they’re working on other things and tequatl is the test for them revamping all the world events. Neither involves the LS team or actually changed the events in the world. Technically at this point of the LS tequatl should be dead.
Other than the fact, that a dev has already stated that Teq’s evolution IS going to tie into the LS in the future.
Only in the sense that they’ll change other bosses and say it’s somehow related, but considering tequatl is a construct made by zhaitan who is now dead….
Only dead to those who completed the personal storyline… I’ve been playing constantly since Beta, and purposefully not killed Zhaitan so that Orr makes sense to me! I thought LS was supposed to run alongside PS. It would make no sense for new players to join the game and for the living story they take part in while levelling to be after their personal story. No idea on timelines though.

One alternative to those complaining about stealth is to have two forms, one pre-combat, same as it is. One that you are translucent, like a shadows form, where you can’t be targeted, but you can be hit by everything if they position towards you and use target based attacks, or AE. This is how it is now, just with people being able to know where the thief is now. I’m not saying to remove where they can totally stealth, but maybe change some skills around so total stealth is on a cooldown that can’t get them right back out of combat multiple times in a fight.
Exactly what would be the point of invisibility thats visible?

Stealth does not mitigate damage in anyway, its only defensive value lies in that fact that enemies cannot see you. so tell, what would be the point if they could? How about we make two versions of protection, out of combat protection provides normal 33% reduced damage, in combat protection makes you translucent but provides no damage mitigation? apply the same to aegis, regen stability etc

We’re working on the staff in an effort to make it a stronger support weapon, and we also improved the conjure weapons so that they’re stronger for support. You’ll see improvements to all 4 of the conjure weapons to make them stronger and better for support.
We also increased the healing on Water Blast, the radius on Geyser and we reworked
Unsteady Ground to make it function more like line of warding.you dont think we will be to OP? i mean incr healing on waterblast and radius on geyser wil be gamebreaking unsteady ground on staff woah

The first video wasn’t even funny. My advice? Don’t play ele, it’s not your cup of tea. Some people just don’t have skills to handle the class.
Watch how this guy beat a thief with his ele and learn a thing or two. The video’s not mine. It’s a guy from NA server.
Another guy that missed the point, watch both videos.
Also, keep in mind that guy has a very specific build that’s basically half tank half dmg build, AND he has to use the hp buffs gained in WvW just to have 14-15k health to even survive.
And he goes toe to toe with glass cannon thieves who can survive w/o the need of all of that.
Not to mention how the poorly designed attunements force him to just rotate cooldowns instead of having the freedom to use them when needed, this forces Ele’s to build bunker builds and always have 30 in Arcana. Are people seeing the problem yet?

And in this video he doesn’t have any of the WvW buffs, he fights thiefs with 14 k HP, which is his base HP, now what does it mean I wonder?

A few extra might stacks might help too. 1 Might stack is nothing, 3 per hit and now you better make sure you kill that ele of they are coming back with a vengeance. Especially on a condi build, it could be some pretty potent defense.
On its own I agree with you, but when considering the signet-auras, aura sharing builds and leap combo auras, I fear that could be a bit too strong.
Those builds are not even viable, though.
Just want to point out:
There is a significant difference between a casusal approach to the game and a casual time constraint.
My husband is a min/maxer, with a hardcore approach to the game. He has, at best, an hour or two to play on a daily basis. He logs in every day to make sure he does not miss his dailies, even though his main is fully decked in exotics/ascended. If he has more than an hour, he is often in overflows helping to spread the strategy on how to work Teq (we are on Blackgate) to help those overflows be successful, and/or doing everything he can during the week to get dragonite to complete his ascended weapons.
That’s not a “casual” attitude.
Attitude & approach =/= time constraint
Players are usually not one simple label.

I got a repair kit today for my daily. The first item other than the horrible 3 we get since MF gear went boom.
happens a lot to large bosses when your target (the red circles to click on to target the boss) moves off your screen so your game assume you don’t want to fire at it anymore (wtf)
I believe this is correct, for most of the issues.
However, it also happens on large packs like the Aetherblades.
Needs a complete rework. It is just so bad.
If you pay 200g, you are doing something wrong.
You propably follow a mediocre guide on the internet that everybody else uses and dont gather stuff yourself.
The 200g figure also doesnt subtract the money you get back from selling the stuff you crafted.
If you know what you are doing and know the market, you can even make a profit while leveling from 400 to 500.
Pretty sure it is utterly impossible to make a profit.
They do not stack. People would notice nearly 60% movespeed increase…
Have you tried Master Tuning Crystals and Powerful Potions of Centaur Slaying? Still a large monetary loss making them, though, like everything else.

Elementalist: We still havnt addressed the core problem of them. While conjurer are a nice gimmick and fun in LA, can have some good damage potential, this is not what has been asked by the ele community.
Right now we are sitting on the lowest hp pool of all classes. Without access to stealth (thieves) or clones/stealth(mesmers) nor aegis/protection(mesmer guardians) constantly being reapplying itself, we are FORCED (yes, you read that right, forced) to go with cantrips, water, some earth and 30 point arcana.
Eles have access to 20 different weapons skills at once… some highly defensive.
The only thing I would change about the ele is maybe some scepter/staff skills. Other than that they are well balanced.
10/10 trolling. Will get many bites.
What level were the erotics?

Because we have a very high population of stubborn individuals with kittenty builds that they don’t want to learn and change or even just try. Every fight I’ve tried on SoS had about 15-20 AFK by the turrets, another 10-15 dead unwilling to WP and run back and a couple of idiots on turrets spamming buffs and heals on themselves.

We were bad to start with as well. Too many lazy people dying/akitteng, or not bothering to learn anything.

Its because force is better than a proc which cant crit and has an ICD. Cant believe it took this long for people to realise how bad the sigil was.
Agree with above, many sigils where high in price still like Sigil of Strength etc they stayed high in price because people still thought they where good. Now the Rune and Sigil market has been jumbled at bit and the better sigils are actually at a higher value(outside of the expensive to craft ones like perplexity etc.)
Sigil of force took a while to reach 1g it use to be low for a while same with accuracy(which is still a bit lower than it use to be)
Sigil of Rage(rofl) use to be one of the top sigil when the game came out because people with bad math thought it was good and people hopped on the bandwagon. I don’t know many people that would touch that sigil outside of some novelty build.
Sigil of Rage used to be twice as strong, I believe.
noticed that i had to rip boons off of a guardian in order to soften it up with S/D on my thief…was with another guardian, we were against a mesmer and a guard. both repplaied boons without a problem, really glassy however i dont see where S/D Larcenous needs a change at all if its a negative change…if anything it needs a buff , a slgiht buff to actually assist in softening up targets more, theyll just easily reapply buffs without a problem..
WHERE…is Larcenous “OP”…seems to be Underpowered if anything.Pretty much this exactly, in its current state you can burn all your resources cleaning someone of boons, and 3 seconds later the guard/ele/eng/mesmer will have full stacks of everything again while your at maybe 20% initiative. Thats why it was not a worthwhile counter before the buff, and it will again be worthless if its changed as suggested

If they’re going to nerf larcenous strike again, they’d better make it faster, or cost less initiative, because as it is now, it’s a total initiative drain and it’s really slow compared to the old flanking strike, even though the old flanking strike only stripped one boon, it was inexpensive and quick. The nerf to Larcenous strike could make it almost worthless.

You aren’t making real statements and aren’t backing up your arguments in the slightest. Saying what he said is “false” is only your opinion, and nothing more. That would be like saying “you suck” to someone that you don’t even know and without listing reasons as to why they suck.
It is patently obvious that what he said is a complete lie. An elementalist cannot completely rebuff in 3 seconds. You cannot just lie your kitten off claiming it as truth with absolutely zero backing, then call someone out for saying you are lying.

As much as I’m looking forward to some of these Elementalist changes, what I’d really like to see is developing the profession to the point where it isn’t dependent on the Water and Arcana trait lines for the vast majority of its viable builds.
