It should not be removed simply because you feel that it is too high. For those that can equip the gear (e.g. A level 45 player crafting level 45 armor), they’d be earning those components as they play.
Besides, they’re adding a level farm tomorrow. Whether that includes all leather tiers or just T6 remains to be determined unless I missed that clarification. Outside of that, there are plenty of ways to earn leather as you level. Probably one of the reasons so many players miss this is because they use XP scrolls and tomes.
It’s also impractical to level a craft as you level your character as you will level that character at a much quicker rate. This leaves the equipment quickly becoming obsolete and the amount of mats needed to level to the next crafting tier doesn’t help the situation either.

It was totally worth paying at full price for me. I’ve gotten so much out of it for how much was spent.
It takes maybe 20 seconds to get to any island from one of the waypoints. If people need to AFK, they can do so at a waypoint and then join the fight when they’re ready.
Park some low level alts at the end of various jumping puzzles. I can’t remember the level range but I’m sure someone will follow up with my post and list it.
The easiest, unfortunately, is to farm gold and purchase off the TP. That’s how I got most of mine.
Commanders is meta for chrono, isn’kitten At least with the exception of trinkets. May have changed since a year ago when I last checked though.
It’s common in this game. Just report, block, and move on.
Posting screenshots with their name is against the rules. Please remove the images or blur out their name. Also remove their name from the post.
Cards don’t last forever. I had to replace mine last fall after having it for about 4 years. You should be able to get a quality graphic card from any of the major brands.
I’d suggest going for value rather than performance as your system will slow down due to the CPU much sooner because of your graphics card. Buying a high end graphics card isn’t going to do much for you if you don’t have a good CPU.

Suggestion: Race adding in Character Panel
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

You’ll eventually learn to determine what race your character is by looking at it on screen.
World Completion which involves getting waypoints, vistas, hero points, completing hearts, and POI’s
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Map_completion#World_completion
(Regional) Explorer which is where you uncover all areas within a region. There’s one achievement for every region.
I just can’t really see the argument for, ‘I can’t / don’t want to / don’t have time to login everyday, so there should be a system where I can be given the same stuff but on my schedule’ because that’s basically the mindset of ‘I can’t do x but should have the reward anyway’, and that just isn’t how anything should ever work.
No, it’s “I can’t/don’t want to do X for the reward, but I would be happy to Y for the reward instead”. It’s not a matter of wanting something for nothing.
For instance, should people who are in wheelchairs be bared from using the library, simply because they can’t take their chair up a flight of stairs to get to the front door? No, people in wheelchairs shouldn’t be excluded from using the library, which is why most libraries have an alternate way to enter the building that is wheelchair accessible. The reward is the same for everyone, yet there are alternate methods of obtaining the reward that are inclusive, rather than exclusive; Stairs and ramps that work for everyone, rather than stairs that only work for some people.
Video games rewards meant to reward those who log into the game daily have nothing to do with ADA ramps.

Group events
Separate from event scaling, Group Events are different in complexity and/or difficulty from other events of the surrounding area. Group Events are listed in the event assistant with “[Group Event]”, and like other events are marked on the map and compass. As their name implies, they are designed to be done with groups rather than individuals as they are unlikely to be solo-able (though some can be with patience and tactics).
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dynamic_event#Group_events
I agree that the event itself is dull but that’s the nature of most of Anet’s events like this. How would you improve it so that it is more engaging but still a group event?
Scale better, or supply non-player actors to fill in the role if needed. For example, I learned that killing the blighting tree in VB could be done solo, almost at the end of the event, when I finally observed that the NPCs were carrying bombs, and I could focus on defending them, not trying to do both.
Sure, they were slower and way less effective than players at it, but it meant that even if I hadn’t been able to summon help, it would have worked.
In the concrete case, the “have the revive-a-tron do the rez” would work, because the player could focus on defense of that rez, instead of having to do it themselves.
Better scaling up, though, would also be a big thing. The couple of times I came across it (and the champ golem at the end of rata novus event chain) after it was started, it was pretty much impossible to recover. Too many support enemies to be able to keep their attention and live, too fast spawning to gradually push them down.
On the other hand, get there at the start and it’s reasonably easy to keep up. So that’s … inconsistent. Not imperfect, not game breaking, but kinda annoying.
Read what I quoted. It’s a group event which surprisingly means that it wasn’t designed to be done solo although some, including this one, can be done so.
Scaling is fine. It wouldn’t be much of a defend event for groups if the density of chak were low.
Daily AP is capped at 15,000. Any AP from the monthlies, if you played back then, count towards that cap.
There is a cap of 15,000 AP for daily and now-defunct monthly achievements combined. Once the cap is reached, additional points from the “Daily Completionist” meta achievement will no longer increase the account’s achievement points, but individual reward bonus chests will still be given out.

If you only see one then that means you should have the rest.
Some drops take a long time because of RNG. The best spot would probably be south Wayfarer Hills where the heart is that has you escort a wolf around Svanir camps. There are a ton of easy to kill Svanir there and in the nearby cave.
Try seaweed salad or its weaker version. You’ll get a 10% damage increase while moving which will require you to get used to strafing or moving back and forth while attacking.
I’m seeing 325 damage/heal as standard. You can see by going to the wiki page for each of the food items.
Yes. Food didn’t have them originally but they were added as it was being abused.
For sigils.

For food, it’s two seconds.

The point of the daily login reward system is to get you to log in every day.
I know and I said so.
No you didn’t. You said it was to get players to view the gem store advertisements. Bolded it below.
I was thinking, wouldn’t it be great for me, as a player, to be able to earn more than one “log in reward” per day?
Now, I understand that the login rewards exist simply to entice people to view the advertisements in the Gem Store, so I know there is no incentive for ArenaNet to allow the player to reduce the number of sessions. However, it sure would be nice for those of us who may only want to play a few times a month!
When I play, I don’t mind sitting down and puttering in the game for a few hours. Usually I am frequently AFK during that time, attending to family duties, snacking, making tea… wondering off… etc…, but I am definitely more inclined to have a multi-hour chunks of play time once or twice a week than I am to play even a few minutes every day.
Sometimes I can’t login, other times I simply don’t feel like doing anything on the computer at all. And that’s OK.
With that in mind, I was thinking it would be nifty for we players if there was an option to make the login rewards into a monthly rewards system instead of a daily login reward system. This way the player could earn the exact same amount of stuff, only they’d have the option to earn it all in one sitting if they’d prefer. I suppose it would be handy to apply the same thought to resource nodes in the personal instance…
Ultimately, I suppose don’t really need the volume of rewards that I would receive for logging in every day of the year, given how little I actually DO in the game, but I figured it was worth putting the suggestion out there none the less.
As a concession to make up for fewer ad-views, I’d be willing to sign up for a once-weekly email that advertises Gem Store sales for the upcoming week (but that’s as far as I would personally go – no SMS ads, etc).
The point of the daily login reward system is to get you to log in every day.
I’m pretty sure you could by having it read the skill bar timers and sound off when any elapse.
There are two locations to get the apples:
- West of Hungry Hal near the premium area
- South of Hungry Hal where the Sloth collection event is located
The apples are based on the map instance so you can remove the wait time by hopping onto another. Of course this map be more difficult nowadays as there may not be enough people to spawn multiple maps.

You get about 129 karma per kill on average in Ember Bay with the tier 3 karmic retribution. How much you get per hour depends on how many you can kill within an hour.
Maybe it’s Mr E
Well we can just request to Anet that players that don’t have all masteries maxed should not receive XP to begin with. Rewards/currency really isn’t character progression.
I think that suggestion would only serve to upset players more. Remember the majority of players don’t raid. As for your second point (spirit shards —> gold --> buy mats —> craft ascended --> progression —> win?)
Then all game loot and currencies must be progression too. Those transmutation charges are too, I guess…
Well if not seeing the XP is an issue then we can have the bar progress but they just won’t receive any spirit shards.
If just another way to acquire Spirit Shards is not progression, what difference does it make if one gains XP or not?
If dinging a level awarded something I found more useful, or didn’t get in so many other ways, I would be interested. But, as is, I’m not.
It’s a reward for maxing all masteries.
How are spirit shards progression?
It’s not just the shards it’s the fact that you’re gaining experience from doing something but it goes no where. It’s just something you don’t see in an MMO and makes no sense. Even when you reach level cap in other games, you can always gain progression in some sense.
Well we can just request to Anet that players that don’t have all masteries maxed should not receive XP to begin with. Rewards/currency really isn’t character progression.
How are spirit shards progression?
I actually wouldn’t mind it going for another week as those lunar envelopes have been very profitable for really no effort other than just running to the vendor and back.
I hope that the raid wing will not be the only new feature. What percentage of players actually raid?
There’s the living story release.
There would likely be a brief summary outside of the raid over the events that transpired within the raid. They did this with the previous raid in Bloodstone Fen. Raid stories are additional content that add onto the existing Living Story but is in no way required to understand the Living Story.
If you want to see the raid stories, players often do post everything on YouTube.
It would be impractical for the leather farm to be in the raid since it consists of just boss encounters and the loot is typically limited to once per week meaning that it wouldn’t qualify as a farm.
I wonder if this is gonna be the challenging group leather farm. Reddit will be on fire if it is lul.
Doubtful as there are just boss encounters where the main rewards are not really farmable.
I’m pretty sure it will be a meta event on the new map or one created for an existing map.
Can we please get an official answer to the OP’s question? Thanks!
It did not end today, which was tomorrow. There’s your official answer.
But could it end the day before the day after tomorrow?
There’s this post that someone referenced from the patch notes although I couldn’t find the exact wording.

The event isn’t part of the Rata Novus event chain. This one is probably more difficult than any of the events that are part of the chain.
The event spawns piles of chak on top of an area that is already full of chak.
I know that it isn’t.
It’s a defend event so there should be continuous chak coming in. I’ve done that myself while waiting for the Gerent meta to start. It’s only a pain when you have multiple veterans that can do that annoying AoE attack.
I also realized that the OP acknowledged it as a group event in the title but is complaining about the difficulty of it being done solo. I don’t thing any of the group events should be brought down so that they can be done solo although this one can be done that way so long as you stay on top of the chak.

I’ve done all of the events on that map solo with the exception of the final ones at the end of each chain. I think that they all are fairly well balanced. Some parts can be a pain, such as after destroying the first batch of hive combs in the Ogre lane, but still manageable.
As far as the event that’s the subject of this thread, it’s not too bad. It’s one of the more difficult ones to solo if you’re not comfortable fighting chak but gets easier as you get used to them. Just keep CC’s ready for those that require it.

Mike O BrienHi all,
We’re wrapping up work on Episode 4 of Living World Season 3 and expect to launch it in February, hitting our normal cadence of a new episode every 2~3 months. I want to give a quick heads-up here on a few topics that I know the community is anticipating, things that will and won’t be bundled with this episode.
This release will include the promised fix to AB multi-looting. The fix is simple: you can loot each of the great and grand chests once each time you complete the meta, once per map cycle.
This release will also include a new, challenging group-farming spot for leather.
This release won’t include legendary armor. We’re getting close to completion, though, and may be able to ship legendary armor with the Ep5 release.
This release won’t include a skill balance update. As we did last time, we’ll ship the next skill balance update off-cycle from Living World releases.
Mo
It seems that ANet team knows only to work with restrictions: “you can loot each of the great and grand chests once each time you complete the meta, once per map cycle”. .
Why nobody considered freeing the AB from the timing? I mean, instead of having a synchronized meta on every AB map, we can have a lot of metas advancing with different speed according with the events completed on the map. As in Silverwastes: Even if on 10 maps the meta starts in the same time, because of the different speed the meta advances, we will have the Vinewrath event at 10 different moments. With this the multiloot is no longer possible and nobody can consider this as unfair.
Or why the mechanism preventing players to join a complete map (from DS) was not implemented?
Well, it seems that restricting satisfies the ego of someone in ANet team.“This release will also include a new, challenging group-farming spot for leather.”
Farming spot? WHAT ? FARMING? Coming from the head of ANet? FARMING? Taking into account all the anti-farming measures already existing in game, I think the wording for this is wrong. FARMING. :-) Can MO tell us why farming leather is OK and why the DR is kept for any other farming activities?
But, according to the form of this announcement, I can suppose this will be an event like the Anomaly event with a reward of 1-3-5? leather pieces randomly between kitten, doable only once per day per character – because of the anti-farming policy and because someone likes restrictions
What a joke :-)) I barely await for a challenging group content for gathering some herbs or crafting an insignia. Or a challenging group content to drop 4 materials in Mystic Forge. Why not a change in the drop ratio from salvage? Hm, maybe someone likes restrictions?
Leaving the AB meta loot as is, but removing the meta timer, would make things much worse and do the opposite of what they’re trying to achieve. It would be SW all over again when that map was very popular. Players would get even more ectos than they currently do.
I’m ready for the 1G/ecto market. And a challenging leather farm? Why does it need to be ‘challenging’? Why does it have to be group-based? It sounds like this will not solve the leather price on the TP if it requires a group-based activity.
Probably to prevent the prices from tanking to vendor cost.
I spent maybe 3-4 hours refining last night but I understand that I’m in the very small minority of players. While it would be nice to refine materials faster, I don’t see it being a pressing issue over other things that they could do that would have a greater impact on players.

What type of weapon will the next legendary be? Greatsword? Sword? Rifle?
I am very surprised a flood of people haven’t posted to sell them. There is an ongoing thread about expensive they are because people are “hoarding” them, because their needs are more important than yours, I guess. Check out the links flesh wound posted, and if you feel like you may want to go for any of those things, keep them, if not, make some gold.
Price would likely go up further with the next legendary weapon release. How much and how long depends on how popular it is.
Yes and no. Each map has a cheap portal scroll that you can purchase that allows level 80 characters to access the map. This of course requires you to progress the story in order to obtain access first. Teleport to Friend stones also work regardless of level.
I also forgot to mention that you must own HoT in order to access the new maps.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
Since Anet’s forums won’t let me edit and make changes to my post, here’s another part.
You make opinions, posing as facts, about the quality of the expansion. There are players that enjoyed it at release and those that didn’t. There are also those that are indifferent. You’d see this with any content but this isn’t evidence that there is anything wrong. Most definitely not to the extent that you have been claiming in this thread.

-Good Dev seems to have left the company.
4) People already stated, they don’t want outfit they want armor.
What did the Boss said? armor take too long to be made.
So they don’t care really about the customers’ wishescommon sense tells me that if they create more armor skins for gem store, then we get less armor skins for in-game, simple. PVP has improved about 100x, balance is pretty kitten good. you still get wrecked? sorry to hear that. Good devs left the company???? and you got this info from where?
Colin, Chris to name a couple from recent memory.
Colin works for Amazon. Amazon tends to pay significant more than what the average game developer gets paid.
Now, Colin was a cool guy but as a game director I would disagree that he was good or that the game suffered because he left. I would actually argue that the game improved after he left. Like it or not, Colin was responsible for the mess that was HOT initially. It was after he left that most of the problems with HOT started getting fixed. The big patch in march 2016 was after he had left.
Most of the living story content, as well as the April HoT patch, were well in development by the time he left. Content and fixes don’t just magically happen so you can’t just use the date he left as a cut off and assume that everything that comes after it he had no control over prior to leaving.
His job was to prevent the mess that was HOt in the first place. If I kitten up and then fix my kitten up, I don’t get credit for it. It was his job to make a great game and HoT had a lot of issues.
You are right that the new content started development when he was around. the key being “started.” I doubt he had that much influence on any of the latter content like the newest maps.
Also the new content seems to have been designed to move away from the his mistakes.
ANYWAYS my point is, the game hasn’t suffered from his departure. THe newest map which arguably had the least amount of his influence is also one of the best maps we have had.
EDIT: I mean look at where all those previous Arena net developers ended. They are working on that kittenty Breakaway game.
That’s your opinion that HoT was a mess. Many others, including me, disagree with you.
He very likely had input into the first two episodes as well as the April update. The lastest episode began after he left. He was there for the groundwork of the current living story season that you appear to enjoy.
That’s your opinion again about things in HoT being mistakes. Others would disagree. The maps are all very different because each team was different and had their own take on how they wanted the map to flow.
Whether the game suffered or not from his departure doesn’t have any bearing on how he performed. It just means that the staff are very capable. I’ve seen departments in corporations go without directors for months and those departments don’t suffer. The staff know what to do and there is always someone in the position for the interim to assist in the transition for who fills the position permanently.
I have no idea why where the other devs left to has anything to do with this.
It really isn’t an opinion when the CEO of the company apologies and goes into depth about fixing some of HoT’s issue.
In any case, you have your opinion fuel by something not supported by facts. Mine kinda supporrted by the words of Mike O Brien. You would think some of Colin caliber would work on Crucible, but nope he got assigned to what looks like a kittenty battle PvP.
Yours isn’t fueled by facts. Some aspects of the expansion didn’t appeal to a portion of the player base. Apologizing and making adaptions doesn’t mean that there was anything inherently wrong with it. Definitely not on the scale that you have been stating in this thread.
You make opinions, posing as facts, about Colin’s involvement in the April update and current living story season. You marginalized his involvement based solely on everything releasing after he left while completely disregarding they they were in production well before him leaving.
