The mobile spawn points in Planetside 2 exist because the map is huge. If you wanted to run from one end to the other, it would take you a few hours. The same can be done in 3 minutes in GW2. The maps are already too small as it is, don’t need to make it even easier for zergs to travel around the map.

I don’t understand.
“I smell like pomegranate.”
Well done IoJ…..I was in EBG for 10 minutes and saw you guys using speed hacks….and stealth hacks to hold a supply camp…we had 20 ppl on that camp and couldn’t take it cause of a speed hacker and perma-stealth hacker…..GG, go L2P
Here is how you could have said the same thing in a manner that would have been far more effective.
“I was just playing on EBG and while trying to take [name of supply camp], there was a player from the IoJ server that appeared to be using speed/stealth hacks. This person managed to stop 20 of us from capping the supply camp due to this. We tried reporting the person, but because of the nature of the hacks, we never had enough time to apply the report function. If you guys could keep an eye out for this player and hopefully report him if you find that he is indeed using either hacks or an exploit, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.”
Insulting an entire server is not going to make them want to help with the issue.

There is also another simple fix to this. You can simply move on and keep playing.
That being said, I was 1v1’ing a raptor and it downed me, so I used Alt+F4. I aint givin no badges to some punk raptor!!!!!

I saw Blackgate, IoJ and SoR triple teaming the Kraitt. I have videos to prove it.

It should not be, however the aoe limit is there to avoid making people think. This way, they can all just clump up like a bunch of clueless idiots when being hit by aoes.
The argument most often made in support is that it would be too powerful which is ridiculous. Either spread out or pop area retaliation and the issue is solved.
“I smell like pomegranate.”
If they take out Alt+F4, how else am I supposed to show the symbolism of the middle finger to zergs that want to 30v1 me?
I think being able to drag 30 enemy players around for a minute, then hopping a few times followed by an Alt+F4 prior to being downed a wonderful mechanism. In a game that promotes outnumbering your foe to win, I find this to be a nice counter.
“I smell like pomegranate.”
Don’t be silly. If you took out downed state in WvW, it would mean that you may actually die while in a zerg. How is that fair? If you’re in a zerg, then a lesser amount of enemies should have absolutely no chance at getting any kills. It’s only fair and balanced that way right? :/
“I smell like pomegranate.”
IoJ also has a [RUN] guild. It is different from the SoR [RUN] however.
“I smell like pomegranate.”
Hey I am from IOJ (ND). Just out of curiosity, can I ask why SoR loves Pangloss when they should not get it…? I mean they always try to steal it from us when they should get other towers or supplies. I would understand if it is strategically right but.. I think they always just want it for the sake of getting it.
One should always try and have control of the enemy supply camps. It is ALWAYS a good thing. Without supply the enemy cannot upgrade towers/keeps, it cannot build defensive siege and it cannot build offensive siege.

I’ve been stuck in a few 10 minute fights against SoR Eles lately. Haven’t been zerged mid-fight yet, but I don’t think any of them have been CDS.
Also, you run the risk of being zerged when you play open field. :/ Can’t really complain.
I had a long 1v1 against a d/d ele from BG with my staff ele. It was a good fight although I did have a slight advantage and by slight advantage I mean that I may have won if we had fought for an additional 20 minutes. :/
Unfortunately teammates cames in :’(

Had some fun fights in BG BL tonight. Also nice to see action that is spread out. At one point, BG was pushing on Bay and Garrison while SoR was pushing on hills. There were people attacking and defending all 3 keeps which makes a nice change from fighting against uni-zergball servers. Much more chaotic this way

To the mentally challenged, they are able to actually cap an area (You don’t have to stand in the circle contrary to belief, that only applies to sentries) while remaining invulnerable.
I’ve seen it done before, it makes the place impossible to cap as that somehow counts as being close enough to prevent a cap/cap the place without being that close to the point. Very annoying, luckily the servers we face don’t try this that often or quickly learn that keeping that single camp is a bad idea when we own everything on their map.
Report, send screenshots and move on.
Hey, do you know that circle that is formed around a camp? That circle also changes colours when depending on who owns it or who is in the process of capping it. Additionally, an enemy can only block a capture if they are standing in the circle. That spawn exit is not inside the circle.
So before you go around calling people “mentally challenged”, may I suggest that you master the shape called “circle” and the colours red, blue and green first?
Thanks.

Oh yay the 2vs1 cries have started
There has been a significant less presence in WvW since this PvE content came out on SoR, I’m sure the other servers have the same problem, but theres really no reason to say what’s what ignorantly like “BG has free reign over SoR” or start crying about “2v1” again for the 3rd time in a row
There must always be a reason for losing. That reason is never the losers fault in thier eyes. Because of this fact they never get better, because they have rationalized the true reasons away, and created one that they can live with.

If your side has the outnumbered buff on a battleground, you wont be winning that fight. If your opponent has the outnumbered buff on a battleground then they will not be winning either. That is a “true reason”.
You do realize that person from our same server was referring to people whining about being 2v1ed by us and BG lol right?
Yes, but that does not negate the content of his post.

Okay, who’s the bunker elementalist from SoS? Norn, looks like the Citadel of Flame set. He participated in the large attack on Stonemist Castle last night while we (SoR) held on for dear life.
This guy is unkillable. All he does is run around in the front lines absorbing huge amounts of damage, and everyone (including me) falls for it and focuses him. Also he gains boons constantly. At one point he gained like 6 including stability, I corrupted them all into conditions, then 3 seconds later he has 4 more. We managed to kill him once in like an hour, crazy stuff.
Whoever you are, my hat is off to you, sir. Keep on keepin’ on.
Does SoR still have the castle? I went to bed before the siege ended.
His name is papaj, and I’m sure he will be thrilled to reply when I mention your post. haha
Edit: crap, i didnt even notice i was too late in replying.
If it is the same norn ele that I am thinking of, then he is a beast. My guild-mates and I have encountered him on the battlefield a few times. Always good, tough fights.

I am going to ask players in Sanctum of Rall to not exploit the game. Here is my evidence of the matter.
http://www.smashmybrain.com/ss/gw514.jpg
We were battling a Mesmer in Lowlands who took advantage of finding a spot at the bottom of the cliff that made him invulnerable. Eventually we killed the mesmer but it took some work because each time his health was low, he retreated to the same spot to make himself invulnerable while spamming his skills.
Shame on you! You knew this would happen and you took advantage of the matter. You would have killed us both if I wasn’t playing full healing/support.
Using spawn protection is not an exploit. It is the same as if someone were to run out of the main spawn entrance and then run back in. Nobody whines “exploit” about that. Do you know why? Because it is not one.

I think all three servers should declare a truce and ally to kill the evil Kraitt infesting our lands. They slaughter the poor Quaggans without any regards to their feelings. Imagine how heartbroken poor Bleepbloop would be if he knew we let his Quaggan brethren die meaningless deaths. :’(

I prefer the bots escorting dolyaks instead of farming skritt. At least it is somewhat productive to the team.

By no incentives you mean not enough pve reward incentives? I won’t disagree with that, although a-net did recently increase loot drops it seems. Making a lot more money.
The main incentive should be fun however. In wvw, fun while taking part in big fights.
Except with no one showing up because they’re farming in pve, big fights will start happening less and less.
That is why there are different server rankings. On those servers where people prefer pve, the fights will be smaller in wvw and on other servers where people are more hardcore about wvw, there will be bigger fights.
“I smell like pomegranate.”
The longest queue I’ve been in since the week-end was a 3 minute queue at primetime on EB. Yet the fighting has still been fairly balanced. No queues and good fights? I won’t complain.
There is one thing that has really been bothering me though and I’ve seen it being done on all sides. When team A is sieging team B, team C will often come in and destroy team A’s siege then set-up their own siege to attack team B.
I facepalm so hard everytime I see this happen.

Good fights again last night in EB.
TC, you guys are really annoying and I say this as a compliment. The Rogue’s Quarry, Sentry Point, Sentry Point, Golanta path you guys kept taking starved SM of supply quite effectively. Additionally, the 6-catapult assaults on Klovan were quite effective too. If Klovan did not have so much supply stockpiled, it would have easily fallen. We had 6 people running supplies from the depot to the repair the wall. After the second catapult-assault on Klovan, there was no supply left and the walls were still damaged. Another attack and it might have been yours.

1) No.
2) No.
3) No.
4) No.
5) Okay, this point has some merit.
You want to take out gates so that zergs can simply stroll into a tower/keep and take it without defenders having the time to come and defend it? Your counter to that is adding strong npcs? I don’t know about you, but I like the pvp aspect of WvW right now and I rather not see it turn into pve with occasional pvp.
Add res points on top of the waypoints that one can install in keeps? So you want people to be able to get back to a fight 10 seconds after they die? In other words, you want to make the battlefield smaller so that tactics like flanking, hitting and enemy on opposing fronts etc. is not possible? So that killing someone doesn’t make much of a difference when trying to push a tower or keep? This would mean that the only way to then take something is by severely outnumbering your opponent.
No.

I think I was fighting some of those guys today. They were eating my nades. You may ask why they were eating my nades, however that is easily explained. I covered my nades in rose petals and tricked them. They thought I was giving them a gift, but then it went “boom” in their faces.
hehehehehehehehehe

We had some pretty fun fights in EB last night. ET showed up and was pushing relentlessly on one side and TC was pushing on the other side. Most fun I’ve had this week in WvW.

I love it when the enemy stacks. That might also be because my main is a grenade spamming, glass cannon engineer. If they decide to stack then at 1500+aoe circle which adds another 100 range, most of them can’t hit me. If they want to stand there and be slaughtered by my nades then I have no problem with it. In fact, I much prefer it than them running around, dodging my nades and all.
“I smell like pomegranate.”
Had some fun fights tonight against TC. There was a battlefront stretching from Danelon to Quentin to Durios to Umberglade for probably a good hour. Multiple fights along that line and continuous back and forth during that time period. Even after we took your keep in EB, you guys took it back as well as 5-6 towers and supply camps. Instead of folding as most would, you guys hit right back.
Much respect for your attitude.

If this bothers you then there is something wrong with you.
I understand that moral relativism, trash culture, and profanity are considered something positive today in Western civilization. Oldfashioned as some of us are, we still strive towards noble behavior, gentleman manners, and certain values.
Ah yes, those oldfashioned values were quite wonderful. Especially those values that enshrined racism, sexism and religious bigotry into our societies.
Hmmm, on second thought I think I’ll take profanity instead.
What a simple and predictable response.
It was suitable satire in response to a small minded post. My response to it wasn’t simple. It was your understanding of it that was “simple”.

The only time that one should not build an upgrade is if the tower/keep is being sieged. Having supply in the depot is obviously useful for ensuring that gates/walls stay up and building defensive siege equipment.
As for your upgrade not being built, this is normally due to 2 reasons. One is that there is no supply coming in. Either you don’t have a supply camp connected or the dolyaks are being taken down my npcs or players. Secondly, your teammates are taking all the supply from the depot. This often happens because people do not understand the upgrade mechanic. If that is the case then it is useful to ask your teammates not to take the supplies from the depot. Make sure to tell them it is needed for the upgrades so that they understand and hopefully don’t keep doing it. It is a more effective approach than yelling at them, calling them “noobs” and the such. :p

How can people from SoR say they are outnumbered most of the time by SoS? From what I hear there is a full queue most of the time during primetime NA.
I’m sure depending on where you were and when and different perspectives, you can come up with the feeling that you are outnumbered. If ANET posts numbers on how many people were in WvW(avg) per time zone I doubt SoS was a lot more than SoR. SoS was stronger on EB and SoR BL while weaker on SoS and CD BL.Against IoJ, don’t count yourselves short SoR. I don’t believe IoJ is all that better than SoS/SoR. If people log on and play WvW and we have coverage, why can’t we beat IoJ? In any case after HoD and ET goes down, it’s going to be fun every week in T1 and T2. We’re all going to have fun regardless.
I hope everyone on SoR stays on SoR and everyone on SoS stays on SoS so we can have a fun re-match.
There had been queue most of the time however since wednesday, I have only encountered a queue once which was last night. I think a portion of the players from our server became overconfident with the point lead we had which is why there were less players until last night when people realized that we were losing. I believe the numbers aspect stems from that time period.
In any case, I do not mind our server coming in second place because it was a relatively balanced match-up and wasn’t a 1-way steamroll.
Just one tip to SoS. While the uni-zergball strategy might be effective at defeating smaller zergballs, it is not the most efficient form of taking things. 5 people can take a supply camp almost as fast as 30 people. 15 people can take a tower almost as fast as 30. With some of the organization you guys have shown this week, you guys could be even more effective if you made the most use of each player.
Good match. Thanks. Farewell. Also, I smell better than you.

Theodore Tugboat [CBC] is a great commander. While he may make some mistakes, he helps us learn from them.
“I smell like pomegranate.”
If the gate/walls are upgraded then it actually takes a while for them to go down. Defensive siege equipment doesn’t go down to fast either if you know where to place them. One aspect that would make a gate last longer is if you could actually use the supply in the supply depot to repair the gate. Most of the time when a large force is attacking the gate, their aoe’s prevent defenders from repairing the gate.
ps: weapons do not damage walls

CD borderlands. Longview. Wall glitch.
Quite inconsiderate of them, considering they denied their fellow teammates who were taking down the front wall, credit for the tower capture by glitching through the sidewall and flipping it.

I corpse jump, bow or sit next to the defeated foe depending on the situation.
A pesky mesmer or thief that tried to run away from a fight? Corpse jump. A member of a trash zergball guild? Corpse jump.
Opponents who fought very well or someone who was willing to die in order to slow our advance? A bow.
Opponents that found themselves in an unfortunate spot, were blown up and that I felt sad about having to kill? I’ll normally sit next to their lifeless bodies for a while as a form of consolation.
“I smell like pomegranate.”
That is pretty despicable behaviour. Your opponent is already down, you don’t need to spit in his face. This also goes for camping spawn with siege on an enemy that is already utterly defeated. Not only does it lack class, but it also kills the potential of getting any good fights going.
I hope that SoR goes up against a tough server next week that smacks us around. Not only to tame a few egos, but also because I want to WvW. Fully dominating the enemy does not provide the opportunity to WvW.
“I smell like pomegranate.”
What Sotaudi said is very correct. Just dont forget that you can use the portal next to the gate after repairing it in order to avoid being blown up. If you are fast enough with your dodge rolls etc., you can actually make the enemy inside the tower/keep/castle waste a lot of time trying to kill you while you pop in and out of the portal.
“I smell like pomegranate.”
As unfortunate as that may be, you are only severely outnumbered because most of your server has given up. Unfortunately, that is currently the attitude that most players will take on most servers when they are down. Best option would be to get enough people to cap out one borderland. You will then have even numbers.
“I smell like pomegranate.”
Sky, I’ll definitely give it a try. Running into a horde of enemies and burning as many as I could was my favourite thing to do in TF2, I imagine I should have just as much fun doing so with the flamethrower here.
“I smell like pomegranate.”
I actually have not tried the flamethrower whilst defending a gate. I am traited for grenades however so it makes a big difference. 30 in explosives with the increased range and extra nade trait makes a big difference. 50% crit chance while standing still and 60% crit chance if they are under 50% health. Add the occasional fury and 2 out of 3 nades crit for 1100 to1700 add to that the 3rd non crit-nade hit and you’re hitting each enemy for 3000 using the basic nade attack. That’s 15,000 damage per basic nade attack if 5 enemies are close to the gate. Grenade Barrage can hit from 5000-10,000 although it does have a slightly shorter range than the grenade kit attacks. These numbers could also be slightly higher with better gear and precision/crit damage food.
The only danger at that point is the enemy at the gate popping retalation. I have downed myself quite often this way, however due to the large nade range, you can get yourself up without having to worry about their aoe’s killing you.
“I smell like pomegranate.”
I am fine with this, but mostly because one can be hit through the gate while defending. Repairing gates is often a hazard due to the enemy being able to hit you through the gate and so this is a perfectly fine counter-balance to that.
For those of you claiming it to be nonsensical, may I suggest you grab a dagger, bow or ball of ice in real life and try to break down a gate.
“I smell like pomegranate.”
Killing/Wounding anyone close to the gate as well as rams is the purpose. I generally nade spam the gate. It is ideal to have someone on top of the walls to help finish enemies as they will normally move away from the gate when taking a lot of damage, but even that slows their attacks significantly. Ranged aoe’s such as grenades are preferable.
Another useful tactic to slow down their attack is to focus on ram operators when they do not have any ranged siege. If you can down them or even just make them leave the ram to heal up, you are delaying them a good amount.

I do like having neutral npcs on the battlefield, because it often adds interesting dynamics. Had 2 servers fighting over speldan once while also fighting the champion spirit at the same time. It was a pretty fun and interesting fight.
I would agree though that the amount of neutral npcs is a bit much and are not needed everywhere, but I also wouldnt take them completely away from WvW.
