Ask some of those folks from your server about the three TTC they faced at the north camp in SoR BL earlier tonight. Well ACTUALLY, he never said anything about skill. He did not even imply it. He simply stated that the only benefit of TC zergs to him is the amount of lootbags he can get when using defensive siege.

Your guild was giving us trouble. We generally don’t have problems defeating 2-3 times out numbers, but you guys are quite organized. Your power ressing with coordinated aoe’s around the bodies makes for good protection. We cannot slowly wear you guys down in this manner.

I would actually consider you guys to be the strongest enemy guild on SBI/TC, group quality wise. Hats off to you.

Wish we would stop using “zerg” so much. It sorta belittles us a bit. We are in T2 for Pete’s sake. The “zergs” in T2 are usually led by a commander on TSpeak or such. When is see a big group from TC with PINK guild tags scattered in it I don’t say "oh well another mindless “zerg” I say “holy crap that an army!”

The term “zerg” is still quite appropriate. If I remember my Starcraft lore correctly, the Zerg strategy was to overwhelm the enemy with a superior number of inferior units. They were also linked to the Overmind which would direct their actions.

Consider commanders to be Overminds and their swarm of players to be zerglings. From my experience, finding these zerglings away from their swarms is always quite entertaining as they die so easily.

I am not surprised to be honest. Most people prefer having an extra friend than learning to maximize the abilities of their class. Since this game favours numbers, the majority of people will always want to join whatever group has more numbers to afford them safety. Whether it be running with the biggest zerg in the BL or joining the server with the most players.

I don’t mind that mentality too much though, because it gives me the chance to distinguish my superiority over those players. I am an Asura afterall.

Hey humans, this is the SBI, SoR & TC thread. So far it has been generally positive so it would be nice if you guys didn’t soil it with feuds with BG from last week. Thanks.

I love the downed state in PvE. I hate the downed state in WvW.

It encourages zergs and glass cannons. It promotes outnumbering your foe. This doesn’t even take into account the ridiculousness of rallying and differing downed state skills.

We had a 6v14 last night. Downed a bunch of them, but 6-7 of them rallied off of a wolf. A wolf gave those 6-7 players a second chance because they were not cautious enough the first time around while our group was punished by having to kill them again.

I like trebs, but I very much dislike that you can treb a keep/tower from another keep/tower. I find that this has taken away from the siege fights that occured more often at the beginning, before people found out that they could stay in safe spots for an hour and take down a wall.

You like that you can contribute to your team, sitting in a keep while eating greasy food and touching yourself? I don’t.

Actually, it is quite easy to play a d/d elementalist. I would say it is easier to play than a s/d or even d/d thief.

You pretty much follow a set rotation like any other classes but here’s the kicker. You have 3 stun breaker and 1 of them is invulnerability (best stun breaker in the game). So, no matter how badly you kitten up, you can get out in plain sight.

I have to partially disagree with you at this point. While I agree that d/d ele is very mobile and can escape from most fights, I wouldn’t consider playing an ele easy, unlesss you play it badly.

I have come across many d/d eles that I have dueled on my own d/d ele and the differences are astounding. I’ve completely destroyed some and I’ve had tough balanced fights with others. The difference in skill I’ve seen has been quite great which reflected on the fight. Sure, an ele can simply stick to a rotation and make sure he gets “booned up”, but a good ele wont always follow a strict rotation. An ele has a good variety of skills to use and will use those skills according to how the fight is going and what is needed.

In my opinion, that is what makes playing an ele hard. Not just using some skill rotation, but having a good grasp on what attunement to use at what point, what skills to use at what point and having a good grasp on cooldowns that you cannot actually see on your screen.

You seem to feel the need to boast and brag. We let our ability show itself in the game, not by complimenting ourself on the forums.

It does seem however that your post is littered with inaccuracies. For example, we were 6. Perhaps if you are actually interested in making any valid claims, may I suggest you review your videos. Count the amount of players, look at skills used and look at how people are porting around. You might learn a thing or two.

What I assume you mean by speed hacks are skills such as ride the lightning and infiltrator strike. Believe it or not, thieves have a skill other than heartseeker.

If you want to 1v1 any of us, just give me a shout in-game. We all generally enjoy 1v1’ing as it forces us to better ourselves. I promise we won’t use “radar”, photon torpedos and phaser beams on you

Even when I use my knockdowns, they simply get right back up and run around like headless chickens instead of /sleep emoting with me. I found this to be the only way. :p

There are tanks, healers and support in this game but it isn’t quite as clear cut as in other mmo’s where the tank presses an aggro button. There also isn’t a full healer.

Guardians and even Warriors with tanky gear, make good tanks.

Guardians, warriors, engineers and eles(especially staff eles) make good healers if traited accordingly, however they also dish out damage at the same time.

That was quite entertaining. Claiming that we were hacking and that you were “destroying” us? Our huge zerg of 3 people was doing quite well, but I will admit that we had difficulty with the tc group that had 6 thieves, 3 mesmers and possibly a necro and something else. 5 of those thieves being level 80 d/d.

I would assume that you actually made that post because I corpse jumped you, which infuriated you. This of course was very much deserved due to your guilds actions back when they were on SoR. (and from what I’ve read, it is still the same thing)

Hey ICoa members, I have a favour to ask. Can you stop retreating so fast after dying in battle please? I’ve been trying to make a picture-collection of myself sleeping on the corpses of your female characters and it sometimes takes a bit. The positioning of /sleep has to be perfect afterall. Thank you for your cooperation.

I hope they leave this feature in as well. I’ve met interesting people from both Blackgate and Tarnished Coast in this manner and we’ve set up some good fights this way.

If a person has an issue with someone harrassing them then they can simply report or put the person on ignore. All of those who enjoy a friendly, personal battle shouldn’t be punished because others don’t bother using the features they have avaliable to them.

I did Jormag at 8 AM this morning and there were atleast 75 people there including two of SoR’s prominent WvW commanders.

I don’t know if our WvW population will ever pickup again even when BG moves away. SoS kicked our backside and moved away, then BG kicked our backside and now is moving away, if SBI comes down and does the same thing all whats going to be left is our 50-100 diehards.

We still have a lot of people coming out during primetime. I think that a lot of our NA players have simply decided to sleep at night though. Probably think it is a better use of time than staying up until 9am fighting 3 BG timezones by themselves while having to deal with huge zergs at night.

I can completely understand why BG would not want to face this, who would! But what reasons would those playing for points and the win from both SOR and TC have for NOT doing this? I’m not trying to get flamed or troll this thread, I think there are many people in this thread who have shown ability to have a reasonable discussion and exchange of ideas, I am just asking their opinions to help clarify my own.

There is more than just the points aspect.

Let’s say that on a BL, there are 20 SoR players, 20 TC players and 50 BG players on at one time. If SoR and TC are using 10 of their manpower to fight each other, then they can each only field 10 players against 25 BG players. This would most likely lead to BG rolling over the smaller group and taking full control of the map. This then makes most people frustrated and many will leave.

If however they were not to fight on that map, then SoR and TC would be fielding 20 players against those 25 making it a far more balanced fight. This would lead people to keep fighting seeing as how they wouldnt get rolled over so easily.

And so I prefer the idea of more balanced fights that keep everyone fighting than one-sided wipes at any given time.

Lol. This is funny. No one with any credibility on TC is trying to make alliances. To BG and SoR, don’t judge an entire server by some randoms thinking they speak for everyone.

It’s WvW. For me, the fun is in the battles, whether that be 1v1 or zerg vs zerg. The score is secondary.

It seems like alot of people from TC keep bringing up this whole ‘non-aggression’ ploy. Maybe he was just impressed i wreaked him.

There been a lot of talking about this “NAP” on forums and on the battlefield… But no one know if this thing is for real…

People on EB were complaining that TC was destroying towers walls from inside SM but SoR was the one taking’em (That was about 2am-4am on GMT -3 or 12-10 hours ago). Can’t say what was happening for sure since i don’t fight on EB, i was just there for the JP (and there was a lot of trouble there), but maybe some players from both servers are taking this seriously, even if it’s not.

That often happens though. Whoever has a tower that gets trebbed from stonemist will get attacked by both servers on that tower. It happens regardless of who it is, because everyone seems to love easy points.

Currently, BG has far more WvW players than either SoR or TC. It is ridiculous that both servers attack each others towers/keeps on battlegrounds that we are both outmanned on. All it does is keep our main forces busy while the BG horde wipes one team and then wipes the other at which point they own everything and half of our remaining players log off. If instead both our teams didn’t attack each other at those times, BG would have to split its forces evenly which would lead to a more balanced fight. That in turn means that more people would keep fighting as a total wipe is less likely. If people keep fighting then it means we’re having fun.

Just had another guild-group of 6 bg players glitch into Dawns on SoR bl. It would be nice if arenanet took care of these apparently well-known glitches. All it does is make servers angry at each other.

Ah, I think you misunderstood the point I was trying to make. You are correct in saying that small group pvp can be done on a winning server.

However I would not feel that my server was truly “winning” if it was due to time-zone coverage instead of player ability overcoming a challenge. I realize this type of thinking does not fully align with how WvWvW is set-up, but I do know that a lot of people such as myself will only be content by overcoming a challenge.

The idea of joining the winning team sounds quite boring to be honest. If one can sit out the entire match and know your team will win anyways, there isn’t much incentive. If your team is losing however, there is more incentive to keep pushing knowing that your actions can make a difference.

As I said, perhaps not a great mentality for the WvWvW set-up, but that is what makes the game fun for me.

They’ll never do that. Better rewards for participation and time yes. Better rewards for a server winning no. Not in WvW anyways where too much is outside of the individual player’s control. Winning in the highest tier possible should be a matter of pride and rewarded with satisfaction … nothing more.

Winning in general is satisfying, I don’t think it matters what tier one plays in. At least it hasn’t for me. Winning in t4 and t3 on Yak’s Bend felt good, winning in t2 with Blackgate feels good now.

If the only reward for winning in WvW is the smug satisfaction one gets for doing so then I think I’d rather win in t2 than risk losing in t1.

What I think big SoR guilds like Pain Train and Tempest Wolves should consider is that all their NA primetime work could be put to much more productive use on a server that has the overnight coverage their current server lacks.

On average, there isn’t much different between servers when it comes to ability. Every server has bad, average and good players. Every server has bad, average and good commanders. Every server has times when they are organized and times when they are a chaotic mess. A server will beat another server because it has more players on covering multiple timezones and lose when it has less players online that are covering those timezones.

I find the biggest difference in servers to be the attitude of the server. Sure there will be trolls, jerks, nice people on each, but one generally tends to align oneself with people that they get along with.

I must say that I am really impressed by how SoR played this week. We all know how BG has far better timezone coverage but during the holidays, SoR NA primetime proved to be as good as all of blackgate’s timezones combined.

We were tied for 5 days until people had to go to work/sleep etc. and this just goes to show how hardcore some of you are. Now get some sleep maggots!

Was on my Charr Warrior (full Knights armor). Just had a quick duel with an Asura SoR D/D Ele at BG BL south hills keep. Was more or less a stalemate until another dozen SoR rolled up and proceeded to flatten me.

You stuck around after the mini-zerg cleared and gave me a bow. That was the classiest thing I’ve ever had happen to me in WvW.

You never know what kind of resistance you are gonna meet attacking a tower. You might meet 400 defenders and you might meet 3. Why wouldn’t you bring as many people and as much siege as you could?

I never understand this line of thinking and it always happens in the WvW threads. “You guys brought 400 people to take a tower, bunch of zerg noobs”. Why wouldn’t you bring that many people if you have them on the map?

Because you might flip the objective a tick earlier and you might save some gold, instead of waiting for everyone to get together.

This is just getting annoying. I am from Isle of Janthir and there are MULTIPLE thiefs in Sanctum of Rall who are hacking to win. They will backstab you, and instantly (and I mean instantly) go back into stealth and repeat this hundreds of times, no matter how many people there, or no matter how many times they use it. idk if they are using the skill cancel to bug the cooldowns or what, but when they are able to take out entire camps in seconds, it needs to be fixed Since A-net doesn’t allow us to post screenshots or names, and there is no report for hacking there will be nothing done about this unless I post, and I’m sure nothing will be done here either.

Not fully. There have been servers that have tried to form an alliance or only focus on one server who was dominating them both, but people from the servers would always end up attacking each other at some point. The reason that would happen is because we are human.

Deleted posts are better than deleted pots amiright? You can always use pots, but you cannot always make use of posts.

I never had any “server pride”. I deem it to be as foolish as having nationalist sentiments. Regardless of what server I play on, there will be bad, average and good players. Regardless of what server I play on, there will be nice and helpful people as well as selfish twats. Regardless of what server I am on, it will do better when outnumbering and do worse when outnumbered.

Server pride? None, but I will continue to fight alongside my server and try to help as much as I can.

Learn to relay information more efficiently.
