For what situations to use Staff or D/P in PVE.
Trickery is already a staple so the evade uptime and burst damage is already here. By making Preparedness baseline, it can open up a wide range of builds. Increasing AA damage doesn’t change anything in terms of diversity, thus doing it the wrong way.
It wouldn’t help my D/D thief tbh.
Of course it will since you’ll have more initiatives at your disposal, however the goal is to encourage diversity.
As long as I can’t land a CnD because the enemy is faster, evades, has passive and active blocks it won’t help me one bit.
Isn’t that what Basilisk Venom is for?
Basilisk Venom: While under the effects of this venom, your attacks are unblockable.
Says nothing about the venom stun going through. Just that your ‘attacks’ are unblockable.
Looks like it’s working as intended and they gotcha with word play.
Also I believe this is meant to be used in conjunction with backstab. Making your backstab unblockable. So if that’s not happening, I believe that part is the bug.

staff 5 is almost the same range as shortbow 5 but staff deals way more dmg. Only downside is there is no ranged
Staff 5 is not even in the same league as Shortbow 5.
Is there really a point to staff now though?
If you want AOE damage, use shortbow.
If you want single target, use D/P.

Believe it or not. This meta still fails.
So, we have all seen the loading screen concept art time and time again.
How about a little game?
Caption what you think is going on that also explains the zone’s current state. Any zone. Multiples from different people is fine.
I’ll start with Malchor’s Leap.

I use compact constantly. I lose count how much I use it on a daily basis.
Invisible bags are there for a reason. They’re your basket of ‘please don’t move/sell/deposit these items’ and they work well.
Waste of dev time working on such a trivial non-issue.
If people wanted to wvw instead of EOTM they would. They’re not there for a reason. If you remove EOTM, there’s no guarantee they’ll go to WvW.
That’s why I also proposed cutting out WvW rewards out of EOTM. Or at the very least limiting rank-ups in EOTM to one per day, similar to what was done for PVP custom arenas. If they like EOTM so much they can still play it, but if they want badges, proofs, memories, rank-up chests and dailies – welcome to WvW. Because having it all in EOTM and having it unrestricted feels like having PVP progression for killing training golems in HOTM.
You do realize what people have been doing in EotM, they’ll just do it in normal WvW. Right?
The term ‘karma train’ in WvW was coined before EotM existed.
The real problem is the game does not reward players for holding and defending objectives as well as taking them. That’s the core of the issue. Considering WvW mode is the most unrewarding mode in the game period.
Because gliding into Keeps/Towers, bypassing any need for Rams/Catas ect. would be game breaking?
No one is asking for gliding in WvW. Reading comprehension fail.

Many investors projected Star Wars to surpass Avatar in ticket sales. This is likely not to happen although it came close. Was Star Wars a failure?
Yes. From a certain point of view.

Very silly change then. It’s no longer ‘infinite’ gliding.

If you have infinite gliding mastery, use all of your endurance and then switch off your glider. You won’t be able to deploy your glider for a few seconds. Enough time for you to fall helplessly to your death.

I don’t have problem getting these but they do feel like the rarest of the 3.
Funny, I thought dragonite was.
They used to drop reasonably well before the nerf. Figures now that the collection is important, that you can go for weeks playing EotM and it still doesn’t drop.
Does this not drop any more? I feel as if they’ve over nerfed it.
I do not think they can turn it on till they finish working on it, it is not quite so simple as flicking a switch. We just have to be patient DreamyAbaddon.
A free to play player was able to get into it with no problems a few months ago.
Wait, what?

Are you serious? I have 2 bank tabs full of these things and I’m barely getting through them with the Empyreal Fragments eater I earned from Wintersday.
I actually had to stop playing content to earn less Empyreal Fragments than my eater could consume.
Try using https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Herald's_Shoulderplate
It’s a better alternative.
I kind of hate to say it, but Bearbows became known for a reason…
Rangers with bows and tanky pets allow for “careless” play. Or, in this case, play with less dexterity. Bear pets are easy to get, too. If you don’t need quite that much tanking, then use a different pet for less tank/more damage, and change to bow/Greatsword.
Pretty much this.
All the rest of you are terrible for giving such terrible advice.
Keep in mind I’m not the person on reddit. Whilst the person on reddit finally did get their items returned (only because of after causing a fuss on reddit). It is still concerning for myself and others on Arena Net’s stance when using their trading post.
I don’t believe that the OP is being entirely honest here.
How so?
Considering the guy paid 75 gold to list the items.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/4149jf/til_using_the_trading_post_is_buying_gold_rmt/
TL;DR: Person sells expensive item on TP, gold seller buys said item. Anet takes away the gold from the person who sold the item and doesn’t refund the item.
Arena Net’s response on said reddit thread:
We monitor all incoming and outgoing sources of wealth. The gold that was used to purchase your arcane slivers (4 of them) for a total of 499.99 Gold originated from a RMT source and while your item listings may have been setup 8 months ago, that doesn’t change where the wealth originated (which was banned).
While the transactions completed, and do not appear to be any fault of yours, we still needed to reclaim the gains from it to remove the wealth from the economy that you should not have gained in the first place. Since we only removed 300g, it looks like you are netting about a positive 166 gold from this. We’ll let you keep that, and I’ll take the strike off your account for buying gold.
Should we avoid using the trading post with expensive items, just in case some one who violates TOS may end up buying it?

This is why I don’t buy gems. Because of silly ideas like this and predatory practices.
Should have instead sold account BAG slots.
Having 8 masteries left in order to go for the. I have 8 masteries waiting for myself to be claimed in the living world season 2 story line. As I’ve did the season 2 story when it came out, but didn’t bother with any of the “optional” achievements.
It’s a buggy mess.
I fulfill the requirements for achievements and they do not credit me for them. Even after following the guides off Dulfy. I’ve tried doing so with multiple characters and no success. If I even dare to use my revenant, I get stuck inside of walls during cutscenes and are unable to progress.
How is any one suppose to get Tyria masteries that haven’t done so prior to HoT release?
Arena net, please. Our fingers.
The main hand always takes precedence.
Swap to Pistol/Dagger. Your number 3 skill will be shooting the HOPE effect and have HOPE foot steps.
Pistol/Dagger sure is a useful build!
Thief sure is a useful profession!

I’ve hated Rangers since the beginning because you have to have an AI pet at the loss of personal dps. When Guardians were given the +3000 Health trait, I seriously expected them to give Rangers a trait that removed the pet and granted them +20% damage.
If you want to play a ranger with out a pet. Guardian’s dragonhunter is now there for you.
Solution: Don’t make your ranger your jumping puzzle character.
GW2 is a full genocide run.
Make sure no dragons are left alive!

First priority: remove the gate that prevents small guilds being able to enjoy this content.
This.
There shouldn’t be such heavy restrictions to participate in said ‘gameplay’.
You know. I’d rather by a precursor from the TP than what Arena net have implemented to ‘work’ towards legendaries.
The amount needed for the new legendaries is just disheartening.
I love it. Problem i have is, i play mostly thief, war and reve. Theme of staff is kinda , not really for them, is it
?
Well…I mean, Raven’s the Norn spirit of cunning, trickery and the dead. So, it kinda sorta maybe potentially fits a daredevil or revenant?
It kind of looks silly when it’s spun around.
I wish they kept the jumping puzzle as set rounds like the clock tower.
The hardest part of the puzzle is the presents area due to the artificial difficulty that the bugs and giant player characters are presenting.
All of my falls in the puzzle are either because the presents exploding too quickly or because I miss the first, max-distance jump due to larger characters blocking my view of the platform edge.
Genuine compliment to Arena Net’s anti-cheat team.
Playing another online, multiplayer game on the side (it has a lot of theft and auto in it). Seeing first hand how harmful it is to the game environment when others use third party software and letting it get out of control. I commend the zero tolerance policy and swift action upon dealing with the Winter’s day jumping puzzle bots.
For those of you saying ‘go do the dive achievement, takes ten minutes.’
I present to you the ‘not so secret jumping puzzle’ with the dive point right up the top of it. A jumping puzzle that is so tedious and relies on laggy mechanics to traverse (and more than half the time is instant, unavoidable death), I’m calling BS on this one.
I love jumping puzzles. I hate this particular one. That says a lot.
One thing about players with large characters is that you can learn to ignore them. Your character is always at a certain location on your screen. You can eventually get used to jumping with other players and jump based on where that location on your screen is.
The problem is at the presents how ever. Where you have to make that max distance jump. Normally I’m pretty good and jumping. But on occasion I do miss that jump because a bunch of over sized people are obscuring where the platform ends.
The problem is mostly attributed to the presents being bugged. You shouldn’t be making a max distance jump. There are those blue presents there for a reason. But ever since they let the jumping puzzle be running at a constant instead of rounds like the clock tower, it’s been like that.

Next time take the red pill.
Let people flock to Revenant, Elementalist and Guardian in the meantime.
RIP Thief.
There are more mastery points available than can be spent. You can max out the Tyrian masteries without doing any living story.
Yet those mysteries are stupidly difficult to obtain as well.
Maybe you should look at that before you say too much about the Guild Wars 2 cosmetic selling store.
The Guild Wars 2 gem store is far from just a “cosmetic” selling store.
Bank tabs. Bag slots. Time saving items. Upgrades. Quests items. Extractors. Unique and valuable items hidden behind gambling mechanics.
Don’t be too disheartened. I have Living story 2 completely unlocked. Yet attempting to do the achievements is a buggy mess. Do not recommend.
“You’re going to have a bad time.”
So, 5 weeks of whatever you are doing to gain mats to make a Sigil?
If you want it that badly. Must be worth it.
If you like the pet. Go ranger. Simple.
