This really needs to be looked into ASAP. Would like to experience the canopy and such but, you can’t without unlocking some masteries. Which of course needs points to do!
You need one point to get up there (Basic Gliding) and two to fully explore it (Updraft OR bouncy mushrooms). You have access to two points.
But yes, it should be reported and looked at.
I’m trying to explore higher than that….
And maybe they don’t want you to explore higher than that in this beta. Betas aren’t for our pleasure, they are for ANet’s pleasure so that they can find bugs that they missed due to not hitting the right set of conditions to trigger them, so they can see how players feel about certain aspects of the game.
Yet, it is advertised as a feature for pre-purchase.
“I have to pay to do your testing job? Take my money!” said no one ever.
I was dash trolling all over WvW today. It was fun. We’re the new run away warriors.
Though the bug where you have to /dance to get unstuck was very common.
Wait until you get to Daredevil. There is only one build that has synergy: Daredevil, acrobatics, trickery.
That’s what you’d like to believe. Guild Wars 2 is no different than any other MMO out there. As much as Arena Net employees market otherwise.
Yeah, because actually PLAYING the game and SEEING the changes is clearly just marketing talk…
I see a game pushing its sales and cash shop to squeeze out every penny it can, where ever it can, while it can. Gaining access to beta weekends is advertised as a pre-purchase feature. You cannot deny that is a marketing ploy.
Ah yes, that is why there have clearly been rather many changes made based on feedback between each of the BWEs, right?
In other games yes. Not here. The evidence for this is particularly clear.
That’s what you’d like to believe. Guild Wars 2 is no different than any other MMO out there. As much as Arena Net employees market otherwise.
Well in every map ive been in so far, people are asking..what else is there to do? :|
And there in lies the issues with many of todays gamers: They are playing beta tests in order to play stuff, not in order to test.
The fact that there is “little” stuff to do is on purpose, on order to focus testing on a smaller amount of stuff rather than just having people running around doing everything once.
We all know “beta tests” have never been about testing for a long time. Rather they’re a marketing ploy.
It also tells some players that they can’t play the endgame, so they should find another game to play.
My friend. That’s like someone saying “college is too hard, I’ll go work in a fastfood joint instead”. IF someone invests time in themselves, THEN it pays off. Anet can’t change a player’s mindset. The drive comes from within.
So basically this game should be a treated as a job to be able to play?
Welcome to Click Wars 2.
Mesmer already has Phantasmal Warlock on their Staff 3.
I play and main Thief since beta.
I have 80s of every class. Yet I love thief’s play style the most.
I’d give other classes a go. But I’ve put the most effort into my thief with looks and gear. I have no will to obtain all the hard to get gear all over again in order to be on par with the PVE and WvW meta.
The short bow has a slightly higher range because of the unique way that trick shot works.
It’s listed at 900 range. Period. Define 900. If 900 isn’t a specific number, please specify how we might philosophically evaluate a tool tip of 900. Either 900 is 900, or it isn’t.
As I said, it’s because of the unique way trick shot works. The distance it bounces between targets is the extra distance it is allowed to reach for the first target.
“Reducing” short-bow to “true” 900 distance will break it from auto attacking at 900. Thus why it is left the way it is. It’s not like the game quirk is game breaking.
It’s just the way it works. Even before when its range used to be 1200, it went further than that. Don’t get hung up about it.
its a symbol for thieves running to other classes
its a symbol for thieves running from other classes
It’s to make it easier for people to figure out who to boot from their groups.
Gold, gold, pure gold!

OP: You were dying to pistol/pistol thieves? That’s a ‘learn to play’ situation suggestion right there.
How ever. Although main hand/dual pistols are far underwhelming and needed the buff. It’s far from what thieve really needed.
Thief survivability is quite lacking to the point we’re pigeonholed holed into the concept of ‘bursting the enemy down in a few seconds or face dying ourselves even quicker.’ Even that, most classes with tanky gear and attributes can shrug off what a thief can do. Furthered by the fact that all classes are in a position to burst down other players, plus they have the survivability options to fall back on.
Our stealth isn’t a credible factor to the class because now other classes have options to stealth as good or even better than thief. Leaving thieves with little to stand out in any more.
Thieves are in a bad position at the moment.
Guild Wars 2 is all over the place at the moment. It can’t decide what it wants to be. It’s a hot mess.
Nintendo isn’t afraid of money. They know what’s up.
SAB seems to be working just fine. HMMMMMMM…
no super adventure box
This.
Not like there is any thing under those skirts to tell male and female Sylvari apart.
Looks like the key thing holding up DD is a flop.
Hence why I’m asking the question that needs to be answered.
Will raids be the only way to obtain Legendary Armor?
Shortbow’s shadow step is still king.
That’s great! Now if we only knew Spanish…
There’s literally no reason to use P/P over short bow.
Well if you like performing in a circus with your cute little staff tricks that people ‘dawww’ at because you’re so pathetic and adorable.
Daredevil is for you!
Dude, it’s too late. All we can do is make suggestions for the next elite spec maybe for next year.
You’re being optimistic.
Dragonhunter is a better name than Daredevil.
I believe many posts before me have already expressed what I feel.
But it’s not looking good for the thief.
Shiro Rev is looking all the more appealing as what a thief should have been.
“More likely”, or “leaked” does not equal confirmed (I see this everywhere and it bugs me).
You don’t care, yet were still in denial. How about now?
Stealing Optimism has been nerfed.
“Nonsense. People want more about Terehearne!”
The name is down right stupid. I don’t want to be a dangerous stunt performer for your entertainment. The class is already laughed at as it is.
I feel like I’m playing where’s Wally with those pictures. I couldn’t find him on the third one.
Shiro Revenant sounds like every thing Thief should be.
https://youtu.be/S4Gma01fplU?t=2m48s
Here’s hoping Arena net thinks twice about this.
And if that’s the name they’re sticking to. We’ll probably end up getting a torch.
Until SAB returns. You must feel our pain!
Revenants also now have a close range reveal for 5 seconds that also blinds.
No. Please take your anime some where else. This is Guild Wars 2.
Also, thief is getting a war horn and is going to be called the “Shadow Caller.”
No, thief is getting a war horn and is going to be called the “Shadow Caller.”
Thief and Engie info next plz. Oh and Thief is getting Rifle right Anet? :-)
No, thief is getting a war horn and is going to be called the “Shadow Caller.”
Guild Wars 2 is not Pay to Win.
Guild wars 2 is Pay to Enjoy.
Would have been handy for that silly ‘you must wait until night time’ objective for Princess tasks in Lion’s Arch.
You can join WvW at any level. You just have to walk through the Asura gate portal in Lion’s Arch.
Why are you selling things could be worth more as salvage?
Because I don’t know about you. But I think I have enough Mithril ore. Also I’m good on Ori.
Meanwhile I can be a special snowflake with a golden pistol no one else has.
If only things could be different.

Full exp bar = nothing that kinda goes against the point of an mmorpg
The irony in these words.
What happens in big mmorpgs other than Guild Wars 2 when you hit max level with the experience bar?
