Guild Wars 2

Looking for a new build for WvW. I will be either solo or with a small group. Was thinking a trap or condition build although I really do not know much about them. Can some one give me a few good builds? Also what crafted armor set should I go with? Other armor is not an option at this time.

Was looking at carrion or knights with undead runes.

The small group will consist of

Warrior or Engineer they are close to 80 on the engineer although do not have a build or armor in mind yet for WvW

Ranger or Guardian depending on their mood although they are 98% on their ranger.

Ranger

Ranger or Thief although I have not found a build for my theif…and I suck at playing the thief class.

Was looking at the game settings and I have messed something up. Now when I enter wvw or the like my armor changes to pretty much a solid color. This was not happening before I was testing settings out, wanted to see what best performance looked like etc.

Changed back to auto detect and the issue is still their…not sure what else I changes please help me solve my own stupidity! Thank you.

It did not work from home, I am going to uninstall the game and reinstall and see if that helps, just not sure when I will have the time to do it.

Was wondering about the following.

Is it possible to have the authenticator on on more than one phone? Their are times one of my cell phone has a dead battery and would hate to be locked out, or if I have left one of my phones on a desk etc.

And is it possible to have multiple accounts tied to the authenticator?

Is the authenticator app available for both android and ios?

Any one who has used it how is it? How easy is it to unlink if I decide I do not like it?

Flash is updated. The strange part is that I can pick up items I have purchased and or money from items I have sold, the rest of the black lion trader is simply a black screen with a loading circle.
I have found a temp solution to it, I have been remoting into another computer and doing the black lion that way…painful and slow at times but hey.
Tonight or tomorrow night I am going to try an experiment and see if it works. Going to try the laptop from home and see if it works their. Perhaps the sights I have been at have had strange blocks. I will also try using my iron key browser from one of the sites or TOR and see if that solves anything.

The repair did not solve the issue, I also have minimal applications on the machine. With a meager 63 processes active.

I am not sure what is happening although if you have the computers networked or have an external hard drive you can copy the installed game over to the other computer and then make a shortcut for the launcher and be good to go.

Starting to repair the game, will let you know what happens.

For those who may not know how to do this here are the instructions.

If you are having problems running Guild Wars 2, the data archive may have become corrupted. Please follow these steps to verify and repair the archive:

Locate your Gw2.exe file.
Right-click on the file and select Create shortcut.
Rename this new shortcut to Guild Wars 2 Repair.
Right-click on Guild Wars 2 Repair and select Properties.
Locate the Target line and add -repair to the end.
Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\gw2.exe” -repair
Click OK.

Double-clicking Guild Wars 2 Repair will begin the repair process. The game will launch when it is complete.

Note: Keep in mind that the verification and repair process will run each time you double-click the Guild Wars 2 Repair shortcut. If you would like to play the game immediately without repairing the archive, double-click on Gw2.exe or another shortcut without the -repair command

Their are currently no repair instructions for the mac.

Is the build not really viable in crafted gear? Never have done TA and sadly do not see doing it any time soon.

Yes it is.

While the class may suck, their is no reason not to come back since their are no monthly fees.

Right now the ranger class has many problems with our largest problem being anet devs and coders.

Come back, mess around for a while see how you like it. You can always put in bug tickets if need be, tie enough of their time up and changes will happen.

I am still having fun in wvw even if the class is not what it should be.

Someone else mentioned this before and I just tested it and it appears that spirit of nature does not revive allies in wvw. Has anyone else experienced this behavior?

I noticed this as well, tried placing it during keep defense and nada even tho some one died at its feet.

I am also having this issue on my laptop, have been able to in the past. All windows files are up to date. Tried the instructions in this thread with no luck. I have also deleted the guildwars cache in the temp file. Set my default browser to run as admin. Ran the game as admin. flushed my dns etc. I have not added any new software, or hard ware.

y’all are aware that you can press a kit keybind (q for medkit, for example), and regardless of kit state (equipped or stowed) and receive the KR proc, right? this means that it doesn’t matter when you hit the kit keybind, so every 20 seconds you can just activate whatever kit for the KR proc. it works like on swap sigils.

so what’s all the kittening about with omg I have to micromanage when I hit my key kitten about?

at worst, you have to count to 20 (or 10 twice if you cannot see your toes), and then get any proc you want.

How would we do this? My brother just started an enginer, I tried and failed so did something wrong. I switched to the gernade kit (only one we have atm) and tried to key bind it although it just does the attack on the weapon he has equipped. I.E I bound gernade 4 to be key 4 is now lets say f…when a rifle is up it was doing the rifle attack.

I will have to tweak it a bit for him and see what we can come up with. I tried the link you gave, although I was not able to make it work. Will have to look at it some more in the morning. Was having a hard time trying to get it show the exotic knights armor that he has etc.

Armor is knights draconic with superior runes of fire. Am willing to buy them a new set of exotic armor and or runes. Trinkets are ruby orichalum of the berserker back slot is the yellow guild assassins back pack if the berserker with exquisite ruby jewel.

Looking at the using the following weapons.

Valkyrie Pearl Broad Sword with superior sigil of fire (willing to get a new sword I just had this one in the bank and thought I would give itt o him)

Can’t live without my 57k EHP anymore, I tried with 52k but changed my spec back to 57k 2 days ago. This is for WvW, not for sPvP or PvE. Keep that in mind ^^, but it is hilarious against thiefs, cloak and dagger for 1.5k and backstab a stunning 2k damage :o.

I downed a thief today just with retaliation, he spammed everything on me while I was running to my commander. priceless

The damage you see from it is cumulative with the final number being the damage you did during the whole attack…I believe.

Sorry, I don’t have a warrior so may be wrong on what attack number it is etc. Just here trying to find a warrior build for a friend and thought I would try to help.

If you concerning play as frontline melee, you must have at least 3k armor, this is minimum for pug zergs. If you want to be real frontline melee is serious guild, then you have no alternative, you must have full PVT setup (armor, weapon, back, jewelery, EHP is a king here, you must have 50k effective hp minimum), otherwise you will not survive long enough inside enemy zerg.

What gear are you guys using to get so much toughness? All knights with knights gems or? Our Warrior with full knights draconic only has 1407 toughness

When the patch came out, I was thinking of re-traiting and abandoning it but…it’s still not bad. Not as good as before, but still quite useful. I wanted to know how others feel.

True, his armor is all knights gear and the accessory’s are zerk. I could supply him with a different gear set up of crafted gear if need be, I have the mats and or gold combo to re supply him.

I do not think he has much karma so limited to crafted items.

Yes unfortunately we all tend to play rangers. I am looking at leveling another character just not sure what to make and it does not help the group out at the moment.

Was able to get the link to work by cutting and pasting it, so it is much appreciated. So far he does not like my plan, which is send in the warrior us rangers try to kill the targets while they beat on him and if it goes badly we run away and leave him.

As one of the rangers I do not see the flaw in this idea

Forgot to mention he has full zerk crafted accessory, rings/neck and an assassins pack with zerk gem.

Because we can kill enemy banners…o wait no thats not it. Hmm I guess becuase then rangers would have something close to useful.

The draw back to this is the content of the game is just not that fun, to re level a character um blah. Bad enough did it with two characters.

I was asked to come here and find a warrior build for a friend who can not get to the forums where they are. Looking for a build for WvW that will be used as a solo roamer or with a small group, I play a ranger and am hoping he can keep me alive.

Currently has the following gear.

And I cant recall what he said the sword, hammer, shield, horn etc are.

^ All of that stuff helps, but the easiest method is to just turn off NPC names. If you mouse over or select a clone you’ll see the name, but if you see a name otherwise you know it’s the Mesmer.

Also, when we’re downed, we are the one with the big red skull arrow over our head.

Thank you, all of you for the help. My game play has been suffering with a slinged arm and looking down at the keys and then back up has been real confusing at times with the clones. I will have to try the name trick. Also does the calling a target work in WvW tried the other night although may have hit the key combo wrong as I am not used to typing one handed.

I have a set of magic find gear, with runes of the pirate. Dual magic find axes with doubloons and have not noticed much of an increase….and not one that would make the cost of the gear worth doing.

The gear does not help with big items like the dragon chests, mystic forge etc.

Could just be my luck although I would not recommend it.

Is their a secret to keeping track of a meser vs their clones? Just wondering in wvw have been having problems with this. Any secrets you guys can share?

Maybe the warrior, their rifle seems to kick our kitten 14k hits etc. They don’t have the same range although it is close. And their spirits can be moved and can not be killed er I mean their banners.

That largely depends on what pet you use, where you use it, and how you are using it. If you can cite a specific instance where you’ve tried several things and still struggle, please document it on the forums. Specificity is crucial to a healthy discussion.

WvW only place that matters. Anything else is poorly coded ai.

I actually run 0-30-5-0-30 because I want Moment of Clarity but you can put more points into wilderness survival. Beside that SB and GS with feline + wolf pet. For stats I run soldiers with some berserker pieces.

For utilities LR or Sigil of Renewal, QZ and Signet of the hunt (for roaming).

The devs would just run circles around those pets, as a ranger, if you need something done, you have to do it yourself.

Back on topic, I’m surprised no one had blown up about persistent pet recharges yet. No more “on demand” knock down from wolves, tail swipe from drakes…

Worst patch ever for rangers, what a colossal failure. WvW still will suck as a ranger due to fecal coding of pets. Lets get this solved already, anet can not program pets properly so lets give the majority if not all damage back to the ranger and re work the beast master tree to allow those who like the pets to get a better split with more power to the pets.

Nothing about the long bow that I saw either, may have missed it.

It’s becoming clear some people are just not going to be happy and when they talk about balance what they really mean is, “can you make it so we’re a face roll class”.

Why should be happy or grateful for fecal coding? It is obvious their team does not have the talent to program a decent ai so why not admit, move on and put a solution in place?
