But seriously, I’m incredibly dissapointed with ANET’s “GIVE ME MONEY BY SERVER TRANSFERRING” wvw update. Mainly because Anvil rock’s slow climb did a complete 180 as soon as the league announcement hit. So, in message to all the servers that are fighting our horribly understaffed, transfered-out server : “Thank you, may I have another?”

You don’t have to give money to anet to transfer….

Even a cap raise to at least ten would still be too much? Because at the moment it sometimes feels like 5 is too small

Raising it even one would have significant performance impact because you need to think of it over an equation that causes that to multiply very quickly. Until and unless there are significant changes in the engine, which isn’t on the table, we will not be raising the cap on player skill AoE.

You all need better coders and better hard ware. no reason it should be such poor performance.

Took my necro out tonight and had a bad time of it. Other necros ate me for dinner, pretty much everything did. Have enough karma/gold to re do the necro with exotics.

Will be mainly solo or running with a friend through the ruins and flipping camps.

They have said lots of things, and have not always been accurate or truthful. So why believe them about it now? What has changed since beta, did they get some money in their pockets and manage to hire some people with talent or?

I doubt it will help in any real way, although I could be wrong but I doubt it.

1) Anet is doing the patch so it wont work and if it does work it wont work well.

2) The length of the reveled vs the cool down will not be worth while. Thiefs are mobile enough they will just leave for a few seconds.

3) Anet is involved.

On another note bloodlust buffs suck kitten and they should remove the stat part of the buff !

They have had since beta to get this done, not sure why they are as lazy as they are. If it is not laziness it must be incompetence either way not good for the customer.

They have also said lots of things that were not accurate, or out right lies, so why believe them on this one? When it is actually working I will believe it.

Healing, condition damage and I believe pet/minion damage is not showing up.

Since beta anet and you have done what to fix this? And now you want to put leagues out and still not allow us access to the proper information.

Sorry about the kittenty title. Supposed to be Anet making money off transfers from leagues.

Just a random thought and wanted to know what the wvw community thought. I’ve been reading a lot of forums recently and it seems that Anet is purposely making transfers more appealing in order to increase gem store transaction for people to transfer to higher servers. This means they can semi control a profit increase and make money. This could explain their apathy toward the WvW community. Any thoughts?

You assume that they are paying anet for the transfer.

I wanted to post here as well. This is due to a bug in the UI that makes it appear as though a team doesn’t have control of the points they in fact have. We are actively investigating a fix and will get it in ASAP. It is not the case that a team can acquire the buff while holding fewer than 3 points.

This is just one more reason why the company should have a public test server, a lot of their mistakes could be caught this way. So far have they done a patch that has not had a mistake in it? Ironhide bug as an example.

And with issues like this you really think leagues are a good idea, kinda hard to play right when the company cant manage to get the right info to the customer.

Dire armor is available but not craftable, as dire insignias have not been introduced.
If you want dire stats for your exotic lvl 80 armor look for the following armor sets on the tp:

Jatoro – Light Armor
Errol – Medium Armor
Yakkington – Heavy Armor

Logged in last night had one make the mistake of trying to run me down and when we were alone they died quickly.

Build your character right and they are not a problem, some folks just cant figure this out and keep getting owned….Darwin has a word for this.

Roamers domain used to be entire map, with the chaos and unpredictable nature of that in interacting with larger groups or even zergs. Heck you could divert half a zerg to chase you if you wanted.

Now it seems like they just want to shove all the roamers into thunderdome in the middle and the rest of the map is for the zergers. I think there are actually less options for playing the terrain to your advantage now, in the way that a good roamer could really master.

Well said, the new patch and change to the maps has really hurt the good roamers and the amount of chaos we can cause with camps, and tying up zergs on goose chases.

This is just one more reason why the company should have a public test server, a lot of their mistakes could be caught this way. So far have they done a patch that has not had a mistake in it? Ironhide bug as an example.

It’s part of the overall balance of the classes. Been that way since release.

All of our methods for regaining health, heavy armor, and our group support is the good for the bad of being on the lowest hp tier.

Simply put anet screwed the pooch again, meaning sadly it is how they wanted it.

Now we all know that when anet touches something thery really anet it up. Heavy armor doesn’t matter, 3.5k armor still getting hit for 7k. Our regen is less than a rangers or a warriors or you get the idea. And our group support is sub par, warriors give as good of if not better group support. Rangers can give decent group support about what we can.

So yea just one more thing that has been aneted up.

While I fully understand the issues the patch brings, I am creating a new thread as I don’t agree with certain things in the threads before this.

I LOVE the new small teams fighting the new ruins and capture points give roamers. We have been neglected for so long, and this opens it up to us. I just wanted to say thank you. I feel like I have something to do now.

I kind of like the Buff, but I realize it should be an optional buff. Many people don’t recognize SPvP as the place to go duel, and WvW is the next best thing. I liked an idea posted which said you should be able to pick the buff up somewhere if your server has it.

I’m confused, however, by the lag. Is it lag from the new PvE event? Or are new calculations throwing your servers into overdrive? Hopefully it works itself out, as I was missing a lot in my fights today due to lag.

All in all, I’m pumped by this patch, and I’ve heard from a lot of people in game on how excited they are as well. One day in, I’ve had a lot of fun.

When I was on last it was not small teams. We had 25+ just zerging from point to point in the runes….glad some one is likening it I and those I play with cant stand it and wish that well I wont say due to forum rules.

Perhaps as a thief roaming it could be fun with the abuse of stealth…other wise just not seeing it.

For small man roaming teams voice comms if you havent already.

For solo roamers good luck if your in that area. Most people never roamed the lake anyway. It was all down south for the most part.

I always roamed north and through the lake solo. Sucks they couldnt wait to ruin the map and WvW until the match reset.

Organising Peaceful Protest - 20th @ Reset

If you disagree with the path WvW is going towards in GW2;

If you disagree with decisions made by certain individuals with 25 stacks of bloodlust;

If you disagree with the new content;

You get the jist; but this will be a peaceful protest.

It’s simple: Don’t log in for the first hour of WvW on reset on the 20th of September, go and spend some time with your family, friends, pets. Do some other activities.

This will allow parties involved, to “collect data” on the thoughts and opinions of the WvW community. But to do this, the message needs to be spread. After the hour of pandemonium, log in and continue playing like you normally would.

Hopefully we can stop the bullying that is going on at the moment. God Bless you all.

Wont be on the 20th at reset any ways, although the way wvw is going is a joke for the most part. Even so if I were to be around I would have logged in to play.

You goofy goobers are welcome to feel however you want. At the end of the day, the mace won’t get changed because it doesn’t need to be changed. Rather than spending your time posting on the gw2 forums about how much you hate this weapon, why not use that same amount of time to try to get good with it?

Mace is probably one of the best weapons guardians have. The slower cast times keep things “balanced”. That B word is a new concept for some of you, I can tell.

Please stop mindlessly asking for buffs. Play your profession for a while before exposing your inexperienced self to the rest of the community.

Yes be that slower speed it is balanced on par with the rapid fire heart seekers or the like…..not.

WvW (again the only part that matters. IMO) the mace is sub par. If you are out fighting shodily coded mobs with crappy ai then sure it is fine.

The explanation is that they want each character to have a unique progression path.
It doesn’t make sense to me either, but that’s what they said.

The commander tag is because they want people to start to identify with good commanders. If you change from Commander XoraxLorax to Commander Fuzzybritches how will anyone know it’s you.

5 character parties is a holdover from dungeons. They did, at least, make squads.

Alternatively you could say the reasons are avarice, greed, and sloth (respectively). But, while I disagree with most of these decisions, I prefer to look at it more positively.

The draw back is their progression path sucks more than a two dollar who er well it sucks. Havent even bothered to finish the yawn quest they call a personal story on a single character.

Still would love to see shield skills improved, cool downs reduced. Have shield 4 apply weakness and an anti stealth debuff like the wvw trap.

And it would be awesome if our save your selfs was a true counter to necro’s pull all conditions off our allys and transfer them to our target.

It is all well and good to be forced to be support although our support is far to weak. With heavy targets 3.5k plus armor getting hit rapidly for 8k hits of damage we can not keep them up. healing needs to be a viable counter to damage.

Thats why every class has their own self heal.

Guardian’s aren’t suppose to be healers….and save yourselves wouldn’t make sense to transfer conditions to the target. Thats what necromancer does, not guardian.

And yet we have so many heals, our supposed regen is one of the reasons we have such a low health pool. And yet it comes no where near to compensating for the massive damage the other class’s deal to us even with armor over 3.5k. Our shield is far more useless than a warriors shield, or regen is less and our ability to support is not as good either.

Retal is pretty much a joke now, and does not reflect damage as it indicates. Sadly I have never seen a guardian and went o poop with any of my characters. I have said free badges if they don’t make it inside a tower.

I agree it could use some improvements especially in speed of attack. In the only part of the game that matters (imo) the mace speed is way to slow for WvW.

thats pretty much the whole idea behind leagues: a new way to milk their playerbase dry

The few people I have seen talking about transferring have said if they do anet wont see money from them for the transfer.

Allowing people to save and load builds would be a general improvement. I don’t see why 60 seconds of retraiting would prevent you from playing wvw though.

Sick ‘Em will now apply ‘Revealed” to enemies they target. We want to introduce some counter play to Stealth (players have asked for that for a while), so we thought a pet “catching your scent” might be a cool way to insinuate some anti-stealth into the game.

As a ranger that would suck more than two dollar who er it would suck. Lets pigeon hole the range even more….to even be useful we do not have room for other skills on the bar.

Let Guardians Judges Intervention Light the character up giving them the 30 second no stealth like the anti stealth trap. Since a lot of guardians already use it. Or let pets passively apply it to any they are attacking.

They are not high enough currently, agreed and we will be making changes to the rank-up chests to make them significantly more rewarding.

Will something be done for past ranked chests? Like the bonus chests….although the bonus chests were poorly thought out as the higher ranks take so long to get through.

It is actually not a counter as besides the reasons pointed out the deployment time is to long. And any enemy can trigger it with the potential for no stealth class being in range of it when triggered.

The problem is that Anet views WXP as a proper character advancement system.

Does any in WvW actually share this view? Most people just see it as some siege-buffing perks.

This is wrong, it assumes they think. They said the same crap about karma and they back peddled on that. If they had done the ranks right they would be account wide, right now it is simply to soon for them to admit they screwed up again.

Stealth should last 3 sec, -50% movement speed in stealth and 1 min cool down.

Or be like in Ultima Online where they can take only a certain amount of steps before they need to re stealth.

Damage should be reduced when invisible….-50% or more

And for a few seconds after coming out of stealth. Stealth should also be revealed if the attack does not land.

I have enough gems to transfer a friend over to my server but there doesn’t seem to be any sort of gift option for transfers.

Would be a great idea. Right now it seems you have to give them gold to convert to it. Would be great if anet offered this though would help cut down gold farmers.

Retool WvW Retaliation for better WvW meta?

My main is er was a ranger I am now mainly a guardian although not once has retal been a problem for my ranger. Barraging zergs, using piercing arrow etc. How ever as a guardian it is a problem as it is not reflecting the damage back to the attacker. Wakitten for 8k a short while back and I took that 8k damage and reflected around 230 points of damage back. That is wrong, should do as described reflect the damage back meaning I take 0 and they take it all.

3900 ARMOR, what is the point.

I have over that and get hit for 7k quite a bit. I have 0 problems with condition, runes food and ability’s take care of that.

I call BS, you must be a Necro…

I have 3.5k And thieves melt infront of my GS, so yea BS.

ANd to defend condi’s? yea you must be a necro…

Guardian actually, just because you cant play your class well doesn’t mean the rest of us cant.

l2p and conditions wont be a problem, fail to l2p and keep whining about conditions.
