What is your build for that vid? Also nice vid looked like a fun time.
Reduce the cost of traps to 5 or ten badges.
Also add in a glitch timer so that traps stay in place for 30 or 60 seconds if a player leaves a map. Random disconnects happen and it would suck to loose a trap becuase a server was over loaded, unstable or a storm was rolling in and caused a power bump at the consumers house etc.
To be fair, no one got fixes this patch.
Remember, as per their SotG, last patch was their final patch of their first balance patch. Don’t expect anything new and/or significant for a while.
Engineer turrets and their broken traits were fixed.
No real info with it either. Once the trap is triggered does it just bam any one in the 1200 range is affected….what about los? Or does it linger like a rangers fire trap?
Still no real fix for the ranger, broken traits….long bow issues like being blocked by an invisible gust of wind etc. Although Engineers had their traits for turrets fixed….we have only been waiting how long now?
The traps are the best looking part of the patch, just wish they had actually included some information about them since they cant seem to get a test server working. Like how long does the trap remain active after triggered? Is it just bam any one in the 1200 range is affected and thats it or does it linger like a fire trap?

It may be on cooldown if another sigil had proced before hand. Could be wrong although it seems that they all share an internal cooldown.
I know that when if I try to swap to say gemoancy and battle only the battle sigil procs. And if I swap soon after a fireblast then neither proc.
Have you tried to repair the game? It works for some, did not work for me. I have issues with the black lion trader at various locations. The program they have is black listed at a lot of sites as a security risk….not sure why. To repair the game do the following.

I would suggest you come to Dragonbrand, the community is pretty dang awesome their. When you get into WvW they have a good community their as well and have dedicated voice com, they also have a community forum set up.
You would be welcome in our guild, although their are a ton of guilds and I think alot of them are open to new players.

It would not be over powered at all. Could still be damaged and the new traps would I assume also work against them.
For my condition build I use carrion armor with runes of the undead.
For the bunker build I use Apothecary armor and as close to it as I can find jewelry and follow Fauxs RRR build.

An alternative might be that while stealthed, pushing the “1” key costs initiative (like 2 or 3). I agree that going stealth and then frantically spamming the 1 key, hoping for a backstab, should be detrimental.
Or make it so that every step while stealthed takes an initiative point, at 0 points we come out of stealth.

Wind rider would be cool. It would be nice if the pet then shared the boon with the group. Would let rangers bring something new to the table…and of some use.
I am in the same position as the op, the black poweder hs bs combo and perma stealth do not work for me. I need to find a build that is not as stealth reliant and or positional. Playing one handed atm from a wreck. And am limited to exotic gear.

Our guild has been thinking of picking up the guild bounty or another starting type of guild mission. Although we haven’t a clue as how to do this. I can see the rank 2 guild bounty, rush etc. although how do we unlock the first one?
Rangers are not in a good place, pets ai is still shoddily programed. And anet does not seem to have the talent to fix the issue, so rangers are stuck in a crap hole. Pets need a major over haul as they are easily countered and we have no real control over them. Spirits are still a joke, and a gust of wind results in the longbow be blocked a good portion of the time. Ranger traits are still not working right and have not been since beta.
Is their a queue to log into the server? I know that is off the subject although was wondering.
Sadly I am not sure how to get your friend to be able to play with you….not even sure a server transfer would work.
I use the trait, something has to help compensate for anets coding.

Go with a Mesmer over a ranger, the ranger has 101 serious flaws one of the major issues with the ranger class is the dev team and anet. You will always be forced to take a poorly coded pet that has a hard time hitting and counts as a large portion of your damage. With the current team their is little to no hope that the ai in this game will ever improve it is simply beyond the talent they have, this means that the ranger pet ai will be just as broken tomorrow as it is today. Spirits for rangers are the suck and took a major nerf to their usefulness this last patch when they stopped affecting arrow carts etc.
Their are also a lot of bugs that have been around and reported since beta with nothing being done about them from anet another reason they are the rangers main issue. If you want to do an instance a lot of folks will boot you for being a ranger, speed runs will be hard to get as a ranger.
That being said ranger is my favorite class even if anet can’t get their job done right although I would not wish the ranger class on any one, infact I think it would be against the geneva convention to do so.
It is unfortunately true, anet must consider the ranger a failed class due to the pet mechanic. Resolving the issue with pets is also sadly beyond the scope of anets team. They had years of development, untold months of beta and how many months since release and have not yet managed to get them working. They need to buddy up with some blizzard coders (as much as I hate to say it).
Of course they can always prove me wrong and hot patch the pets.
Would be nice if pets had instant attacks none of this poorly coded ai stop initiate miss crap we have currently and they should have a speed boost as well since we are forced to have the pet with the ranger.

Not at all, although I do not have a qa team working for me, or years of developing the game and months on months of having people beta test it and report bugs not to mention the excessive time they have since launch to correct these and other glaring issues, alot of which were reported in beta.

I am on Dragonbrand, was going to say if we were on the same server I would be happy to run with you for a while show you what to do and such. WvW is the best part of the game imo.
If you do try to take a supply camp look for the guild claiming npc and make sure that they do not have righteous indignation on other wise it is going to be painful.
I will be interested to see how you like it, and if the WvW on your tier is more zerg or if their is a lot of smaller battles. Have fun!
So, this might be a somewhat obvious question, but I’m fairly new to this game and none of my friends who play have touched any of the PvP features.
I’m curious, since there’s a ‘cap’ on the number of people who can jump in to these (at least with WvW, to my understanding) is there any way to tell if new players are welcome or unwelcome at certain times / in a certain place? I guess I’m mostly worried about a big guild or a large group of friends doing this organized thing (like with teamspeak or something of that nature),who only want people in there that would cooperate with their ~secret strategy~, and then me showing up and
ruining everythingnot knowing what I’m doing. And possibly taking up a spot that another one of their group members might want.I’m guessing there’s no way for them to ‘claim’ an entire session for themselves, but I was curious if there was any sort of unspoken, in-game ‘manners’ about this or not. At the same time, this worry may be ill-founded, because the caps might barely ever be filled. But I just don’t know.

That is the better solution, have the effect match what we were sold. Some folks spent rl cash to get diamonds to change over for gold only to have the item not be what they were sold.

The main issue is the range indicator and auto attacks don’t work properly and their for are bugged. Not sure why anet can not clean their code up and make these things work. Engineer turret traits, runes not working, sigils with the wrong info. Come on anet lets have you guys get to work.

No idea why they still have these broken sigils and runes, they have been documented quite well on the wikis so the customer has already done a good portion of their job for them.
The devs should maybe skip a lunch and resolve these issues.

Flame thrower is pretty much a power/damage weapon — not a condition weapon.
This is the reason why you guys can never figure out how to use the FT. IT IS VERY MUCH A CONDI WEAPON, if not more so than it is a power weapon because really, how much damage can you do with it in a power build anyway?
It’s neither a power or a condition weapon. It’s a flashy weapon. The damage sucks both condition and power wise. Trying to use it for damage is just screwing yourself.
Incendiary Ammo makes it a really good condi weapon. I have quite a few builds that utilize the FT to might stack and burst condis. On it’s own it’s not the most effective way to play but combined with another weapon or kit, it’s a great enabler.
With a very survivable build, I was able to hit 2k Condition Damage with the FT in WvW the other day. With Sup Sigil of Earth and Sup Sigil of Corruption on my p/s, I was able to apply quite a bit of condition damage through gates, to zergs (each tick can hit 5, then as they move, those 5 change), and had quite a bit of control.
No HGH and 25 stacks of might, pretty kitten impressive. And fun as heck. Just don’t try to take dredge with it… they are immune to the 800-per-tick burns.
What was the build you were using?
10-30-0-20-10 : Juggernaut was the key one there.
4x Sup Runes of Altruism, 2x Sup Runes of Water.
Sup Sigil of Corruption, Sup Sigil of Strength (Swap for 3 stacks every 9 seconds).
I use p/s for the extra blocks and the blast finisher, so with the fire field from FT#4-Blast the healing turret (dropping it makes 3 stacks anyway) and the shield #4 skill for 3+3+3+7+3(from the swap) and then repeat the swap and heal when available. I also use the omonomberry creme for +20% boon duration for a total additional boon uptime of 70%. So a 15 second instance of might becomes 25.5 seconds.
It is a bit over-focused, but I did want to see if it could be done… and I reached 25 stacks, without HGH several times. With the sigil of corruption fully stacked, full Karma Rabid (equivalent) gear + Trinkets (with a few Rampagers), Master Maintenance Crystal (all that toughness becomes even more useful) and an adequate amount of “in combat” status (for the Sigil of Strength to trigger) I stayed at over 2k for the better part of an hour with no HGH.
I am not a huge fan of HGH, tbh, it locks you into at least 2 potions and whatever kit you are focusing on and I would rather have at least 2 kits, with one being the tool kit and the slightly-less-than-perfect Elixir S on my bar.
This build sacrifices almost all base power, period. There is 100 in the traits, 875 in the maxed out stacks of might once you build them, but the FT is often considered to not be a great high-damage weapon anyway. But even swapping once you have full corruption stacks to even a sigil of earth resulted in EPIC bleeds, and interestingly, I tried this full CD monster in Orr with the elixir gun… and it was fun as heck and melted zombies as quickly as a crit grenade build.
Kinda wish there was a Juggernaut option for the Elixir gun…
Oh, and to the poster who is getting healed every other press of #1, switch to Mixed Berry Pie and get heal for ~375 every other proc, as they have no internal cool down.

I’ve passed this on to our localization team for a future update. (Sorry, I don’t have an ETA on when this will get fixed.) It might seem like a 5s fix, but it’s really not, since the fix has to be made in all language files. Fortunately it’s a number change, so no additional translations are needed.

What about the rest of the runes? Why not have the devs do some work and figure this out their are many that don’t work as they should and are advertised to. Skip a lunch or something.
