Not sure. Yesterday I noticed you can put ascended rings into forge but I have only 3 spare so didn’t tested it.

I think EotM is the quickest way. Not only you will get a lot of champ bags but basically everything you do there is an event so XP will flow.

There is something similar already in game. The longer you are alive the better WXP you give when killed. If only WXP was worth anything after a certain point…

Interesting idea but then people would just use catas/trebs instead of rams. No players near the keep, no scaling then. TBH unless ANet does not change PPT system there is little to help WvW in its current state.

I have 2 full sets made, no pieces from chest drops. One medium set for my ranger and one heavy set for my warrior. For my tastes, the worse grind was getting the empyreal and dragonite ore than anything else. I had the time gated stuff done long before those.

At the time I made 2 sets for my thief and necro, stars indeed were a pain. Now, with EotM trains I started to trash them.

The info is slightly wrong. The title requires a bit more than full world completion. I remember getting the Gifts and much later the title.

If I remember correctly there is a PoI or WP somewhere is Orr which does not count towards World Completion but is needed for the title.

IMO EotM is the most time efficient karma gain. That is if your side can form a solid karma train with good commander.

Easiest way to do this is have it work dynamically.. aka 100 vs 50 vs 25.. Those who have 25 on that map tick higher and gain more war score than the 50 or 100.

The system isn’t really “abusable” as its pointless to leave WvW just to give a team a better ratio, while people sit out.

It is very abusable. I remember the times in Warhammer when they introduced kind of “Outnumbered” buff. It worked not like in GW2 meaningless buff but actually gave quite a lot of extra damage and HP to the outnumbered side. People were leaving the warzone so the organised guild groups could insta take keeps or wipe big zergs with ease. Fact is that it was much easier to leave the warzone and come back.

We must remember that if there is something to abuse people will do it. Such changes cannot be made without much testing.

Slightly off-topic. I just came back to the game last week. When I played over 6 months ago, I used to get 2-3 rare pieces from dungeons. Now I’m lucky if I get even ONE. Also, when killing mobs in the open world, I got loot (whether trash or materials) from every 4 out of 5 kills. Now I’m seeing it 1 out of every 5. What happened?

Were you using MF gear before? If so look at your stats now and see what level of base MF your character has.

Some matchups in T1 are actually fun just because all 3 servers have more or less similar coverage and numbers so the fights go on 24/7 with no clear domination from one side.

That aside WvW in general become boring. It was mentioned before in another thread that same maps, same tactics, same enemies over and over is VERY boring in the long run. It came to the point that every reset night is the same (as the rest of the week tbh). Take this and that, upgrade this and that, place siege in this spot. Done for the rest of the week. Heck, I noticed that people run in similar pattern/paths on every map every day of the week.

In all fairness I find EotM more exciting now IF the commander decides to look for fights not just PvD and people are willing to follow him.

ETA on when this issue will be resolved? This seems like something that should be really easy to correct. Check to see if the WvW season 2 meta flag was flipped. If Yes, give reward.

To be fair that is most likely already the case, and yet it doesn’t work, so the issue is most likely deeper down.

That actually isn’t the case. It’s something else, because you’re awarded an achievement for the particular PLACE you earned.

Something with the places must not be reaching the proper flags to recognize and distribute the tickets.

Hopefully they can resolve the issue soon.

I have done meta and didn’t even got the achi for Season 2. Chest is also missing OFC.

On EU, a lot of players received properly their rewards right after the reset. Some other players on EU did not, despite having all their achievements done and also, they got their “nth place” achievement in the WvW achievement panel.

I have all achis done for meta and didn’t even got a achi for wvw season 2 not mentioning the chest.

Why not make the commander tag have “Ranks”. The more you take locations, defend places and such the higher your Commander rank becomes. Instead of loot bags when you rank up you could get Commander abilities or something.

And given the level of discontent about the population imbalance/coverage issue, it is Anets problem. They designed the game, they’re the only one’s that can correct it.

Those are two completely different statements.

Dev was ridiculed for that statement too. Dev’s have since backed off that view as well. They recognize a match that is as balanced as possible is the best match, the most fun, and will attract the most customers.

WvW is inherintly unbalanced. They will never be able to make it completely fair. But they did not “design it to be unfair”.

And how it should be made “as fair as possible”? During many years of MMO gaming I probably encountered all modes of (mass)PvP.
In Warhammer (RiP) we had 2 realms with obvious differences between realms in terms of class balance. One side had it easier, always, still, it had the most fun, epic fights there.
In Aion (at least at time I played it) there were 2 realms again with 3rd AI realm to balance things out and as far as I remember it did not work out very well.
In Archlord there were no realms/races/sides/servers only guild and alliances and by far it was the most fun PvP mode I played tho it had obvious flaws.
SWTOR… meh, not worth mentioning but 2 sides again.

So, what PvP mode/mechanic would be more fair? As far as I remember in every MMO people cried on forums to bring 3rd side so no single side would dominate absolutely because other two could double team and even things out.
2 sided PvP will always (by accident or deliberately) favour one side. Guild alliances can grow to absurd size and will rolfstomp everyone, instanced/directed PvP is not an option either.

Then what? Any ideas?

Everyone isn’t getting that much. Just the OP. I have a stack or two, but I realize that eventually I’ll be in the same boat as the OP.

TBH you can get MUCH more if you run EotM train, well maybe exclude dragonite ore. Ore is easily farmable via world boss events. I have 1 tab filled with dust, stars, dragonite. In fact I gain more daily than I am able to refine due to timegating.

Still, I do not want to trash it in hopes it will be needed for ascended jewelry or cooking. Sadly, the space in my bank and on alts ran out and I am forced to trash few stacks every day.

Eotm is a karma train mixed with chempa loot farm and a bit of lvling farm and a slice of wvw achi farm. I got as much badges there within an hour with just kitten ing around as with 2 days of hc wvw on borders. Lol

In few days of casual EotM karma-training I got over 100 wvw ranks, like 5k badges and metric crapton of loot, bags, gold.
TBH I was quite happy with it but after few days I felt like exploiting the mechanics of the game. Sad think is that most people in EotM do not even want to engage the enemy unless is it a coincidence.

IMO EotM map is very nice and could serve as an excellent stage for some epic fights but instead it is bigger Queensdale (champ train) and gankers paradise. On the other hand, ANet would have to make it so defending and actual wvw would be rewarding. I was quite disappointed when after 3 hours matchup there were no rewards, not even “GZ, your side won!”. OFC I got bags filled with goods and nice cash but… something is missing still.

TBH I’ve had better fights and seen more group play in EotM than I (sometimes) saw in normal WvW.

True, the XP,Karma and WXP gain is quite insane there but at the same time it is only possible because all sides do not want to fight and just run around capping stuff. There is no reward for defending anything or for owning most of the objectives on the map so why even bother. If anyone is setting up a defense it is only for fun of shooting mindless zerg with ACs.

Still I enjoy EotM greately… so far…

Totally not true! I got quite a lot of accessories from WvW (even EotM) and PvE temple events. It’s just a matter of how much you play (and I do not play 24/7). In fact only 1 of my characters has accessories bought for laurels/guild comms, 2 others have full sets from other sources.

First, I do understand that you are no giving away Legendaries. After all, 5 best PvP players surely deserve this reward for their commitment, skill and time devoted. No doubtely they deserve some cool, special and precious reward for it.

Secondly, I am a bit annoyed just because all they did was to play what they enjoyed the most (PvP) and did not have to go through really stupid grind, RNG, bugs, maps, grind, gring and grind.

I guess you (ANet) plan to host such tournaments on regular basis so every devoted PvP player wil have a chance of getting a Legendary now (would be very mean of you if you didn’t) but there is a massive difference between working ones kitten of and actually enjoying the part of the game.

I got my legendary bout a 8 months ago when it was relatively “cheap and easy”. I dumped the parts of the game I enjoyed most (WvW and PvP) just because I had to do something fun in a way but (in the end) boring as hell. You have eluded the GW2 community with the promise of “Scavenger Hunt” and “Way to craft Precursors” for months and no solid proof it is coming came along the way and this is the part which really annoys me to be honest.

To sum up, top PvP players DO deserve Legendaries. They should get such reward long time ago but you ANet should not diminish the effort and devotion of PvE/WvW players at the same time. Especially WvW players who are the backbone of each server community.

You didnt count XP you will get from refining Ori Ore. If I remember correctly this alone should give you +10 levels of craft. You could also use better salvage kits for a chance of extracting jewel and this will give you cheap extra discovery (or more) for ring/earring/amulet.

As far as current costs of mats vs future costs go I can only think how silk price skyrocketed (along with soft wood/iron/linen/etc.)

Still, IMO Jewel Crafting will be one of the easiest, fastest and cheapest craft to level up to 500 via discoveries/making exos alone.

I think it is connected with long time without server reset. I am having the same problem for last 2 weeks at least.

I even upped my line to 40Mb, reinstalled the system/game and put all on brand new SSD. Still the game is unplayable at times

I know you are prepping something big ANet but without server resets at least twice per month the game becomes unplayable. I am playing on SFR and so many events are bugged for weeks it is unbearable (Melandru and Gates of Arah just to name a few).

I also experience much more lag and DCs than usual.

I love playing the same two servers every week, it sure beats the lopsided match-ups we had in leagues, where someone was always up 200k.

Huh? What is so interesting in fighting same guilds (tactics, behaviours, zergs) all the time? I mean, anyone who is WvW regular already knows their most common enemies tactics by heart butif you fight same servers week after week after week it becomes soooo boring.

On my server some people decided to give up on wvw (or the game) just because of this.

Yesterday I soloed Titans with my Necro and surely it took not more than 1 min. Spammed all Wells and staff skills then used second weapon set and done.

What did you expect? With new and “awesome” matchup mechanics some servers are bound to play with same opponentsover and over again. This is not even funny.

OFC terrible rewards after Season 1 are also guilty but not as much as many think. For me it was just some free APs. If I count all I dropped during whole Season 1 it was more than enough for reward.

World Completion is one of the fairest requirements in your Legendary hunt. Also, it is not THAT hard to complete. Except EB, all Borderlands are designated to your server at some point. I mean, for example, this week your server home BL is Green, next it can be Red so it is easy to get all WPs, Vistas, Skill Points and PoIs.

I remember the only hard part were the EB just because of queues.

Nice weekend, we stole many strongholds and controlled quite well supply routes and camps.
We were surprised with the amount of siege weapons that SFR allocates at camps. And not just camps, even in open bridges. Once we counted ten siege weapons placed in a camp or nearby… more experience points…
By the way, what about the fairplay? At the moment both Riverside and SFR are focusing more us (62% and 55%), while we focus almost 50% to each one.

I will level up an alt only with craft. Don’t want to complete the same maps again.

this will cost you insane amount of gold tho. Although leveling most disciplines to 400 can be don with only as low as 2-3g (cooking) eventually you will have to farm some mats.

Good solution for shortage of higher end mats is to salvage everything you drop on your main character. Not only you get decent amount of Luck but also some of basic crafting materials.

Concerning your suggestions i don’t see the point to have this in the Hero panel (that’s just personnal preferences maybe).

I rather really would like on my side to have one (or maybe two) mini slots next to the skill bar (on the main interface screen) to put whaever you can click on that you would like to use anytime. A mini-pet. A potion. A food consummable.

I’ve suggested it months ago and if ANet wanted/could do it they would probably did it already. That aside, I would love to have this feature in game. GW2 interface is very good for its simplicity but bit of customisation wouldn’t hurt.

So far Overwolf and it’s “add ons” are the closest things we have but it won’t solve everything.

Anet changed the XP gained from crafting after they upped some crafts to 500. Problem is that now you get 10 levels per full craft like before but you must level it to 500 which will cost a lot of money. Other crafts which are still capped at 400 will give you only 7 levels.

I got my precursor from TP. I also farm A LOT in loads of places and do drop loads of rares, exotics and stuff bet never ever got precursor drop. I also put ALL rare weapons I get into MF which, sometimes, gives me highly priced exotics but never a precursor of any kind.

If you do farm a lot just grind the gold and buy what you need from TP. Saves a lot of frustration.

I will be levelling Leatherworking so stacked enough of mats for this already. OFC all depends what exact mats will be needed and if current ascended leather squares will be used in final recipie. If so, I prolly have enough to make a full set already.

Wvw. I made 100,000 karma since Friday, even without spending all of my time in there. If there’s a bug for you, you should report it.

this bug he reffers to could be broken wvw queue. It affects many players including me.

If you played Gunslinger in SWTOR you will enjoy Thief here. Not that those 2 classes have same playstyle, well to some extent they do, but the general feeling and squishyness is the same. Also both have rather high learning curve.

My main problem with invasions right now is that those champ bags actually have chance of dropping something good. After each invasion I get at least 40-50 bags and except few cores/lodes here and there I got nothing of real value.

MF infusion also adds to total MF. I am sitting at 104% base MF and with all possible boosts I am closing to 200%.

That, said I do feel that higher MF gives me more rares but nothing insane. I grinded my Bolt with 60ish MF and it felt the same.
