i dont use em.. they just dont work proper and i prefer to use skills i trust to not get me killed several times… -glares at bullwark- by running off.

Yup, and part of the reason the mind boss is so weak is because he’s distracted with fighting an army(most likely in Dragon’s Perch).
They actually say that in the story too, so yea it makes sence. He is increddible strong in the meta event so clearly his focus is on the physical battle rather then the mental one. Check out the map meta OP…you get the fight you ask for tenfold…thats seriosly one of the best fights ever.

Final zone after the meta event there you can buy the plated ones at a vendor nearby the chopper that gets you out of there. And the machined ones are collections, you unlock said collection as soon as you bought the plated one…like you buy the plated hammer and then can unlock the machined one and so on, dont ask me whats needed for the collection, still working to get one of these myself lol
Anet is just waiting for all of us who prefer armor to outfits, to either buy outfits or quit the game.
…i sorta fight atm pretty hard not to quit. I mean sure.. i LOVE that game…but that outfit stuff is actually annoying me so much it almost hurts. Since the tower of nightmares i did not change my mains appearance at all cept the headgear. I really hoped with the x-pac i get some spiffy new armor.. ya know something that fits the engi. I got a mask… a good mask but still i only got a mask. No plated medium armor with some tools or pouches to go with it… ya know like a full specialisation armor that i sorta hoped id get….and dont come with the magitech, i wear that thing since years now. Meanwhile i can watch every darn few weeks how a new outfit gets released. I mean sure.. yea, people like em, people buy em and by all means.. these people should enjoy them…but there was something i recall in the back of my head somewhere. A blogpost that said there will be a balance between gem store outfits and in game armors. So we had a year of almost no content, sure they where working on the x-pac, an awesome x-pac. I was of course thinking that they now deliver said balance…but nope.. 3 new sets per weight class… Even if i really do love the expansion that was a kick into the shins. Where is the balance? Where are my darn skins? Where? Ah right.. in the gem store.. cause since the x-pac came out we already got 2 new outfits, one more and we are equal again…yea great, love it a-net. Look a-net. I do know you get quite a lot of income through the gem store… and i do love to support the game and your company…but if you cant be bothered to give me the “balance” you claimed then atleast sell me skins on the gem store like before. Believe me.. id buy em, specially if they are the level of quality that your outfits are right now and since you starved out the skin fans now real good a good part of them would buy em too. But why do i even write this.. you dont care anyways…with your “balance” and everything…
I would love be able to break down an outfit by the existing break points in equipment…helm shoulders gloves. In a perfect world every section of an outfit could be hidden or shown as desired. Maybe somewhere down the line this will make it in.

…i just wish stuff would be atleast like they where before the wardrobe brought the outfit curse upon the game… Let me atleast buy new (and more) skins from the gem store if you cant be bothered to do the “balance between gem store and in game” that you claimed way back then in that blog post. We didnt even get a darn full armor set per specialisation…not even that much….well the revenant got a class armor atleast, but whats with the rest? Ah right.. outfits.. forgot. Man i hate these things so much…might actually soon push me over the edge and search out new waters where i actually do get more parts to customise my characters rather then clone trooper armor sets.
Should’ve just stuck with cosmetics, pets, tools or w/e.
It’s rather interesting, seeing as the game doesn’t have vertical progression, a vast majority of end game is skins. Hence the nickname Fashion Wars 2.
The majority of skins added to the game come from the store, it is a bit of a shame especially seeing as a paid expansion came out and day 1 we’ve got new skins in the store.
Well we got 3 sets per weight ..4 with the revenant armor and a handfull of “loose” skins. Really skimpy numbers… If only atleast the gem store stuff wouldnt be outfit trash… Oh well

My only 2 complains are that there are not enough armor skins in the x-pac. The ones that are there are top notch perfect.. but i sure do would have liked full profession armor with the collections..not just 1 piece and a weapon. And my other complaint is that its way too awesome and i had no sleep for 2 days playing this game…wtf a-net why would you do something like that?!
Also if you got the precursor you get the “failed attempt” and the new precursor into your skin collection too. Gotta love the fails… specially the hunter, thats (not literal) gold

Well… imo they just scrapped (HA!) the old spec and used some trash laying arround to quickly tinker the engi spec together cause they had to…not cause they wanted to. I feel no love or dedication and thought to the spec at all.. like for example the reaper and chrono got. Im actually certain it was called forge or forger or forgeman or something like that sometime in the creation…where it was still themed arround fire and heat and had a fuel generation system that (imo) probably worked sorta like adrenaline. Builds up with hammer attacks and then fuels the drones that most likely where upkeep skills like the herald got with his aspects.
They most likely where struggling to get the druid done and ready and left the engi spec on their workbench till it was really late in development and then just quickly put something together and called it a day…alone the “mechanic” is enough evidence that it most likely was that way. Busy with druid…the motto of the scrapper.
Ever since the removal of the hobosacks, and the arrival of the toilet paper roll and the bag of onions back in June 23rd, we’ve been promised that these placeholder models would be scrapped and we’d get the real deal.
Where was this said?
I remember people assuming that these were placeholders, but I don’t recall ArenaNet ever confirming that.
During the pre-6/23 patch stream, it was implied.
But as we know, a LOT changed between that stream and the actual patch release.
they couldnt even get the spec proper down and make a new mechanic for it before the release or iron out the many bugs and lacks of synergy that still plague the class… so new and shiny kit visuals are clearly not in the budget either, not even when they made a completely new kit… the mortar they made something epic, just a patchwork job of a low level rifle skin mixed with the old mortar barrel.
bahahaha! That would be a nice thing and we cant have that arround here for engineers.

I love MM in pvp as it is, except for when I get moa’d and they all vanish and leave me defenseless. -_-
not gonna happen anymore. You can even run lich at a minionmancer now, transforms dont make your minions go away anymore

Save to say gyros will have the same deal going on…so small yay about that i suppose. Pvp related stuff is “in a good place” so yea.. aint gonna make em better there

Yeh.. pvp and wvw will still have miserable turrets. But atleast now gyros and turrets will (hopefully) serve a purpose in pve. A boss doing a massive attack with 12k aoe isnt uncommon so its a really nice thing to actually use A.I. here and there in a build without having to worry about having it nuked the second you deploy it.
Who knows.. maybe they add some “nerfed” version of that buff for wvw and pvp…like 50% damage reduction if not directly targeted or something. Would surely help a lot already.

you should get 3 of them that each take 1 ICD to produce. For each one you got you get some buffs. If you use one for rezzing or stomping you loose the buff. There.. mechanic, pulled straight out of my backside without much thought. Still better then the function gyro..

eh.. i think they are just right. The staff effects are too busy imo…the raven spirit covers way too much of the staff if drawn but then again i dont feel like making a staff anyways.
Axe is lovely, specially with the observatory theme to it. Perfect legendary for a druid imo. Also it looks painfull and sharp and the gold\blue theme is quite nice too. Beats frostfang for me by miles…never was a fan of it. Certainly gonna make it
Hope is the wet dream of many engineers and its a serios gun for once and also its
huuuuge and its shot sound isnt annoying either like at the predator. Ill certainly craft it.
Nevermore is…well its not my deal but its not ugly by all means, just too busy, you can barely make out the cool arm effect with that giant spirit in the way. Gonna skip this one this time. Well maybe the precursor comes without the spirit raven cause the “blank” staff with the crow already would do it for me.

Axe is very cool, like the idea and shape a lot, sadly im not really that much of an axe user.. would go to waste to make it at this point, pistol is a win for me, love the zappy gun theme going on, seems a-net remembered for once they got engineers who use firearms, i certainly gonna make this beast, staff is too busy with the spirit, not ugly but certainly not on my list for crafting.

…there never was the time not to do it. This should have been the way they did it from the start. Sure.. not restricted to a class itself, but atleast fitting for the classes inside the weight class. There are some armors that got a class feel to them… but not nearly enough. Specially mediums suffer from that a lot. 3 Classes that couldnt be more different in fighting styles share one thing… coats. Heavy and light got it easier to get some class feel in but still not fully there. There just should be a pile of armors that scream to be made for that one class in design…and the rest should be left to the player taste.
Well… mursaat where sorta kittens…with that slight issue with kryta and that bloodstone shenanigans and white mantle stuff, but then again we dunno if the exalted are not “just” some “sub race” of mursaat. Sure glint made em and stuff.. but who knows… maybe its basically the same deal. I mean alone from the metal mask the exalted are pretty darn close to a mursaat. Also we do know that the thieves that withdrew from the fortress where now the entrance into the wastes is that they do got to do with the white mantle…also technically the bloodstone is in the jungle too somewhere so there is a pretty darn good chance we might get some mursaat related story or events too…maybe mursaat vs exalted? Wouldnt sound too stupid imo

Since its soon halloween im pretty sure this stupid thing is gonna hit the store anyways. Give it 2 weeks or so and you most likely will get your chance to buy it.

Like the druid lost his base pet mechanic? Nope still there unchanged.
The Zerker his base adrenaline bar? Nope still there and built out.
The Guard his virtues? Nope but new ones focused arround the new playstyle.
The Chrono his shatters? Nope just built out with a new shatter.
The Tempest his attunements? Nope built out with overcharge.
The Herald his legend swapping? Nope built out with Facet of nature.
The Reaper his shroud? Nope but changed for a more melee centric setup.
The Daredevil the initiative bar? Nope, still there unchanged.
All mechanics are still there and where either altered but kept the overall function or stuff added ontop, why would the engineer just casually loose parts of his mechanic, specially given that an engineer does need the toolbelt to pull of many things the engineer is meant to do… like combos? How would he use his turrets proper with using them as blast finishers? What happens to the stunbreak of the e-gun? Whats with throwing elixirs like elixir-r that can rez or elixir-u with its possible wall of reflect or smoke wall? Whats with the mortar orbital strike? The ability to nuke your crate turrets? Polymorph moa from the elixir-x? BoB from the Bomb kit? Grenade barrage? Incendiary Ammo? And so many more.. well each skill brings a toolbelt, cept the racial elites… Skills like this offer more then gyros ever will in their current state. Hell in fact the gyro toolbelts are more usefull then the darn things themselfes.
Would you accept a mesmer that cannot shatter anymore? How about an ele that cant switch attunements? A Revenant that can only use 1 legend? A thief without initiative?
Ranger without pet? Eh.. well many want that… so i give you that. But still see what i mean? Engi skills usually work together with the toolbelt in a way, shape or form. Would i want to skip out on them for drones? Hell no, never. Would i skip out on them for a while to use drones to change up my tactics? Sure, anytime. Out with the bulwark gyro to buff my defence while i reveal that annoying thief that got me in my backside with the nuking of the stealth gyro before dropping the shredder and nuking it to get the lightning field and stun him and then unleash hell on earth on the guy with my hammer. Then i swap back to my toolbelt and keep on using those skills. That would be awesome.
Also that was a dig at Ireno for the imo weakest mechanic of all specs… not the druid, druid is epic and all hail to all who like it.

as always for engis we must live with it. Look at the buglist no other class has so many bugs and for a so long time. After HoT release even more bugs will come only for scrapper cause of no chance to test it, only 1 BWE is so a stupid decision i cannot understand it.

Really? Necro doesnt feel that buggy to me…but then again i only got about 50 hours on it, maybe i just dont see things a pro necro player does
thing only is op… without the toolbelt engineer looses a lot of stuff like blast finishers, stun breaks, the ability to throw potions, nuke turrets for finishers, knockbacks, condition pressure, strong attacks and much more :\. Id alter your versiona little.. basically a “toolbelt switch”. Basically you can swap your toolbelt like a rev does his legends, the entire bar gets replaced with a gyro remote that lets you deploy and nuke em what gives you their toolbelt effects… basically nuked medic turns to his waterfield toolbelt skill while sneak does its reveal move and purge unloads its poison field and so on. If you swap your toolbelt you get the entire swarm of gyros swarming arround you what gives the enemie sorta an indicator that you are about to command your gyros and to swap back to the regular toolbelt gets a reasonable cooldown of 15-20 secs to not be able to just spam skills like a madman, also you need to judge if you need the gyro itself or just its toolbelt, cause if you need the toolbelt you gotta destroy it so there is the element of strategy and also counterplay. The drones themselfes keep their high cooldowns and low HP cause you dont need to sacrifice your already rather limited utility slots on the drones and the (imo completely stupid) function gyro gets activated while in gyro remote mode too. There.. engaging mechanic where you need to judge if you need your toolbelt that wont be available for a (in a battle) long time or if you need your gyros to use a different tactic. But noooope, lets make the mechanic a pretty stupid and easy to kill gyro that you only see at two situations that can happen in battles, make it 30 second cooldown and make the rest of the spec skills (CEPT the hammer) underwhelming compared to kits and elixirs… oh well… atleast ireno´s favourite child the druid turns out nicely…

Without a doubt the best way to get em…or you save your exp writs from the dailies and buy em with them at the forge. Also fractal and wvw dailies give tomes. But yeap pvp gives the most of them

I love everything about the Charr, from the way the character stands to the way they run on all fours. I only really dislike the absolute lack of armor choices that don’t clip or make them look goofy… and let’s not even mention the hair style “non” choices ( all fatal flaws for a game that touts itself as having no endgame but cosmetics )
I have charr: Warrior, Guardian, Engineer, Elementalist, Necromancer and Mesmer (female a that)
It’s the only beast race in any MMO I’ve played that was done right… and then the game got live, not enough people felt like I do so the Charr race as a whole got left twisting in the wind to become second class citizen to the devs who created them. Now they are mostly a joke race with goofy 80s pink or cyan Glam Metal band hair cuts.

Well of course it would be nice to get this mess fixed… but we got a 3 year record that shows that drastic fixes like this are something engineers never got. Im fully aware that this is pessimistic but just look at the class. We just now got the magnet fixed and it still doesnt work proper. Look at the turrets… how long where the hitboxes broken? Kit visuals? How long? 2,5 years to get the backpieces away and still are not up to par with other classes in visual eyecandy…not even if they add an entire kit, look at the mortar and tell me this looks good. Bomb kit restoration? How long did that need and it “only” was in numbers not mechanics? And so…soooo much more. To re-work an entire mechanic before HoT hits? This is certainly out of question…not with the “dedication” a-net got if it comes to engineer issues…if it would be roy with the revenant my look at things would be completely different cause he and his team actually work extremely fast on the class and it went from a zero to hero in a rather short period of time…just compare beta weekend 1 and weekend 2 and 3, that was a 180 if i ever saw it.
Of course it would be amazing to get something like glenndevis suggested… id embrace this without any complains like most of the already suggested mechanic re-works cause this is actually awesome and cool…but like i said.. im very pessimistic at this point. Ireno and his team also got the druid…and even if it got its kinks its certainly the spec that got more attention in development then we here…so yea.
I dont want to be the pessimist here.. specially not with engineer beeing my favourite class… but the odds are against us here… Made myself sad now
- Why hammer auto-attack doesn’t have any particle effets like rest of the melee auto-attacks in Guild Wars 2 ?
Cause its engi.. we always get the worst of the worst visuals. Look at the kits, our legendary effects, even at the REVAMPED kits and so on.. should make it obvios.
Not to forget how many of the new Elite specs gets fancy GUI effects when they use their mechanic while we get a trait-boon.
