How about more permanent living world content involving dragons? I find it hard to believe all the others would remain quiet for so long after one of them received a spanking.
I think that’s just what would happen. Probably prior to that, they all thought they were invincible. Now that one has been taken down, maybe they’re rethinking their options.
Of course, it’s also possible they pay no attention to each other at all.
Even so they still need to start focusing on the dragons. The whole lore behind gw2 is the 5 races banding together to defeat the Elder dragons who ruined their lands killed there families and so on. I dont think the Human’s ancestors would approve of them being allied with the Charr to take down the oh so powerful……..Scarlet?!
I do agree with u though the dragons can be rethinking things. They might not pay attention to each other but dragons give of a huge source of magic or however it works, so if one were to die wouldnt u think that the other would at least be able to sence it? Seems to me Anet has no idea what they r going to do with the Elder dragons.

Tower of Nightmares. I am seriously terrified to what they r going to do with this. I can feel it in my bones that once, IF, it opens everyone is just going to follow the commander and zerg the life out of the place. I can go on all day but ill leave it at that.
Let Anet know what u guys think and what u guys want! Personally i would love it if the Tower of Nightmares was instanced for 10-20 ppl. Let the zergs zerg, IN THE OPEN WORLD, but give us our instanced fun/difficult content please!
Most people can’t beat Arah. I don’t think it would work in this game. everyone in WoW are slow and stationary. here CC is fast, dodging is important and its why lag ruins the fun. you need your skillz. 10-20 people in a instanced dungeon. I don’t believe that will work very well. I could be wrong.
Your right lag can ruin someone experience but at the same time this game was suppose to be fast paced and action based. They shouldnt make the game easy bc ppl r bad at it. Sure, add easy content like they HAVE been doing but atleast be considerate and think about the players who came to gw2 bc of Anets promise.
Gw2 was no suppose to be a easy mode game like it is. The explorable dungeon were suppose to be really hard and were meant to takes team work and skilful play. I guess the ppl who were testing the game really sucked at it and played like it was WoW. PPl need to understand that before the release of gw2 we were promised hard content but they failed in the design of dungeons big time!

Balanced? I’d hardly call this balanced.
Everything dies before I even have chance to target and hit the kitten things, even champs die in seconds.

According to webster’s dictionary zerging isn’t a word so there for it has no definition. I just thought I would point that out real quick before I continue.
I do agree the old term Zerging use to mean overwhelming something before it could build its defense. The word has changed its meaning over the years to now mean a large group of players overpowering content in a haphazard manor.
I wouldnt say it doesnt mean that anymore but it can also mean what u r saying. Zerging is using numbers over strategy too.
To attack an opponent with a large swarm of units before they have been able to build sufficient defences.
If there is 20 man content which is balanced for 20 ppl, u cannot call that a zerg and or zerging. The reason y is bc the enemy is prepared and if u do zerg then u should/will get owned since its balanced for 20 ppl.
I think that’s the inevitable with open world content, especially at launch. It’s always going to be filled with massive zergs but this time they’ve done an excellent job of creating a variety of events to do and some of the events scale really well.
Come back towards the end of the month to see less people doing it once they’ve got their achievements.
I strongly support how “easy” they are. Without a zerg (and there will be people doing this later on without the aid of the launch day zerg) the events can be very challenging and move along slowly. The achievements are in the Living World category so they are temporary. A lot of people will be relieved it’s not a massive grind to get this stuff done. So far I think they did a good job of creating some fun open world content. The zerg is inevitable.
I seriously doubt the tower is just for show. I’m confident it will be opened in a later patch.
Your right, with open world content there will always be zergs. This is the main reason y Anet needs to start doing instanced content. They dont have to stop with these open world events but when it comes down to the Tower of Nightmares and content like that, it should always be instanced for a decent amount of ppl to enter.
Zerg wars 2. This game has so much potential yet Anet wants us to run around mindlessly with 120 other players spamming the hell out of our skills just to tag one monster.
I suggest you contact customer support, cus it definitely isn’t working as intended.
I Did do that but i thought id some on the forums and see if anyone else ran into this problem and know how to solve it.
Maybe try all the newly added PoIs and Waypoints. They might not be added into the counter, but count for 100% Map Completion. Worth a try, I guess.

This has to be the worst content I have ever played in a game possibly ever. The challenge is excessively stupid. There’s nothing you can do to make up for a team that doesn’t work together. If you get one bad player you will spend hours getting virtually no where no matter how much you walk them through it. Sure we could all start being elitists and kick everyone out of the games, or we could just quit the game entirely.

Its a sad day when ppl complain about difficult content, which btw isnt even that difficult. this is what u call fun content. not going into AC and going around the corner and spamming ur skills to survive. ppl suck bc the have been conditioned to do easy content they dont want to try bc they feel like this isnt gw2 but it is! this is how the games dungeons were meant to be in the first place. ive joined a pug group which didnt wipe once in the new path and i had a group that failed hard. in every game ur going to have kitten players and good players. if kitten players want to do difficult content then they have to get better, same with every kitten game in the world. if ur playing call of duty, and ur bad at the game, do u expect to beat the story mode on hard? no bc u suck, either get better or dont play that content. its as simple as 1 2 3, if u like easy mode content there is a bunch in gw2 that u can do.
I don’t think Zhaitan is actually dead. If he is, that is the most anticlimactic end boss fight of any game that I have ever seen.
He is dead for sure. Anet failed with this elder dragon but they learned their lesson i think and the next one should be epic.
Orr should change since Zhaitan died. grass should start growing, the humans should take back their land, and undead should be taken out the game!

But, in seriousness, I do think asking for join confirmation, like in a normal party-joining scenario, would be good. Just seems practical.

This has nothing to do with being a elitist. this post is about a bad design in the LFG system. and even if it was about me being a elitist, there is nothing wrong with that. as long as i dont bother anyone for not being a “good” player or troll newbies then it should not bother u or anyone else.
I joined a group, I think it either got disbanded or I got booted (before we even entered the dungeon mind you) and then I was told I’d joined too many groups.

At a certain point ap is meaningless but when someone has under 1300 ap, they usually just hit lvl 80, still rolling in greens and blues, maybe some rares. i dont have a problem with new ppl to the game but i do have a problem with ppl who ignore the post that clearly said, LF4M Experienced players only no wipes new path.
the same – 30 min = not a change, restart of client seems to fix it…

Did u guys seriously add this to the lfg system?! u really didnt think this out. if ur going to make something like this in the game at least make it so if someone joins ur party u have to accept them before they actually get in. i put, LF4M experienced players new path for TA. i had about 5 newbies try to join my party, 700ap was the highest of them all and a couple of them were under lvl 50. of course i left the parties! i said experienced players and no wipes also. u guys REALLY need to look into this. make it so we can see the lvl of the person trying to join the party and we can accept or decline. also, we shouldnt not be able to join groups if we joined alot, it should be more like, if we join a dungeon and leave more then a couple times during a certain time frame, then we cant use the lfg tool for a bit.
This is probably the easiest part of the dungeon, when done properly all u need is 4 ppl. first u choose 2 tanks and 2 ppl who will lure ooze. the tanks job is to go in the room, while everyone else is still outside, and lure the lava elemental to the gear. the left tank will have to wait a bit bc the lava eles will kill the first ooze no matter what. once they kill it, u lure them to the gear. now that both tanks have their lava eles at the gears, its time to lure! the 2 ppl luring should go into the room at the same time interact with that plant and make there way to the gear. no lava eles will bother them until they r next to the gear and by then they should be able to pull the ooze to open the gate. if u r tanking as a guardian u want to bring wall of reflection if ur a mesmer tanking, u will probably need help from the 5th person but feedback would be huge since the lava eles will target the ooze once it gets close. i also try to cc the lava eles when i see the ooze get close but u have to be careful to not hit the ooze bc we dont want to dmg it.
When i read those links what i got from them was that they r probably making dragons and temples more of raid content then actually making instanced 10+ man raid content. i could be wrong, i hope im wrong! but we can only wait and see. unless we get a reply from someone at Anet
a exmaple would be the new Teq fight. again, i hope im wrong though!
…10 man raid where u have to just fight one massive boss who takes a ton of organization and player skill. something not meant for everyone to be able to complete. its nice to have things like this in ur game to attract a bigger variety of players.
Really like this idea. Hope Anet is thinking along these lines in terms of challenging end game content.
I hope they r but Anet is contempt with more than 5 man instances. idk y it can be HUGE for the game and it cant go wrong, in terms of losing players since we have so much content for all different types of play styles. except for really difficult content/raids.

I’m actually very happy about Tequatl being harder. I’m in TTS, which is a group of guilds specifically set up to kill Teq daily. It encompasses 4 different guilds completely filled and there are still people wanting in on the action. Every day we fill up 3 or more overflows just with guildmates and kill the beast on each one usually. The rewards are actually good. I got 7 rares last night’s kill along with 2 gold, 14k karma, and 4 champion chests. Maybe you haven’t killed it since the update so you haven’t seen the updated rewards. There’s plenty of reasons to kill it, be it for the challenge, or the rewards, but it’s a fun time for me. Sure, waiting for it to spawn is not the most fun, but there are still people doing this content every day and enjoying it immensely.

Its a nice combination of challenging encounters, teamwork and mechanics that make this one of the best if not the best 5 man dungeon ive ever played. Havent touched arah yet so i guess thats next on my list

But i agree with you mister OP. This game could use some instances for the hardcore crowd. Where you need:
- A group thats is fully optimized with proper runes, uttilities, food/sharpeningstones etc.
- Everyone to know the tactics and every single bit of positioning out of the top his head.
- Everyone in the group to be on teamspeak.And even then it should take days (or even weeks) and multiple progress instance runs to finish, even for the best groups out there.
The new TA path is as u explained but its only difficult with pugs or ppl who never done it. when everyone knows what their doing there is no need for communication and no need to support each other much. it would be awesome if they made it so even if ur doing the fight mechanics properly u still need to support ur team and be careful of certain things, etc. if they were to make all dungeons like the new TA that would be perfect difficulty for the game and for ppl who dont like really hard core content bc all it really is, is once u have the machanics down and know how to do them its dps from there and a dodge here and there. which is a huge step up from dpsing the kitten out of a boss with 10mil hp.
What u suggested would be awesome. i played a MMO called tera and there was a 20 man raid. it was just one massive boss which was harddddddddddd. one example of a skill he uses which was pretty awesome, imo, would force u to be a certain distance from him and if ur too close u die and if ur too far u die. one more example is, at around 60% health he flies off then comes back a few seconds later and burns the whole area. what ur group had to do was to to the middle, face the direction he was coming from and a split second b4 he uses his attack all dps range had to focus a crystal to bring up 2 boulders to protect them from the blast. if u were to use it a second to early ur group can wipe, if u do it too late same thing. another skill which i just thought of and have to add which was pretty cool is, at one point he will put a aoe circle around u which flashes. what u have to do it run away from the boss and the group and have to count until 10 flashes then use a dodge/evade once it hits 10 if u did it wrong u died if u got it right gj! there was a bunch of things like this that made the encounter difficult no matter how many times uve done it. gw2 just needs a few dungeons/raids like this and it will have everything a gamer can want in a game.
I think Arah path 2 is still better.

but this dungeon can be harder. the first day when i was doing it with a random pug group the dungeon was really hard. i was really happy. then i did it again today with a experienced group and id have to say, it was much easier. the ooze part is really easy, all u need to do is have 2 ppl, one go left and one right, lure the lava eles to the gears then 2 ppl go in after they get them all there and lure the ooze at the same time. works every time. i think this whole part should be taken out and put Slick there. speaking about Slick, when i did it today and we just targeted Sparki or Spark first, and it was too easy. if the ooze is on u, run to a oil spill and avoid its attacks. Sparki should have 3x more hp when Slick is alive but when hes dead it goes back to normal. this fight should also force the group to run as one and support each other by making Slick and Sparki’s do more dmg. for the boss after them, sorry dont know his name, hes has good mechanics but the shock wave that should force u to get closer doesnt really force u. it should do constant cc. what i mean by this is if u try to run through it, it will send u towards the boss or if ur on the out side it will knock u away from the boss. this should also do 2k dmg and gives a condi. for the last boss, he is fun to fight but hes weak. i was pretty much soloing him for a while until i wiped so my group can get back up from dying at the start of the fight. he can move a bit faster and should have more range attacks, he should also have more 1 hit melee range moves which r noticeable but dont happen too often. everything i mentioned r just examples, they can be bad or good ideas, idk thats y i dont design games, but new dungeons in the future can be a bit harder.
The new TA path is a really big step up compared to all other exp dungeons so props to Anet and the new dungeon team :P it would be nice to have a couple or even maybe a few really hard dungeons though. maybe make Arah p3 gets smashed by Teq after his master got destroyed by Trahearne’s crew, and his rage makes all the bosses in that path transform into one. making p3 become a 10 man raid where u have to just fight one massive boss who takes a ton of organization and player skill. something not meant for everyone to be able to complete. its nice to have things like this in ur game to attract a bigger variety of players.
Is there a reason y finishing this new DUNGEON path doesnt count towards Hobby Dungeon Explorer? maybe u guys forgot about it? i know ur rushing with these 2 week releases so its no biggie, a quick fix would be appreciated though

The rewards r horrble. well maybe not horrible but when u complete the event we only get one daily reward chest, not the 4 we should be getting for defeating teq. during the battery phase we cant just leave the turrets, we have to cleanse and support the ppl taking out the fingers on the beach and we have to support the megalaser. we have pretty much the biggest job when it comes to defeating teq so y r we rewarded the least? this HAS to be addressed its makes no sense at all! if anything we should get more rewards not less. and in all honesty it does get really boring manning a turret after uve done it so much but its necessary to succeed. like i said, this really has to be addressed.
Last years Halloween event was really fun, i especially enjoyed the dungeon and the clock tower. i just hope they can increase the difficulty lvl of the dungeon. after all, me and my buddy did beat the whole thing with just 2 full zerk old school dps warriors. i also hope they bring back the clock tower, now that was some fun content. maybe add a easy mode for ppl who suck at jumping but we should see it return this event.

The problem with last update, imo, was that they updated something that was already in the game which was suppose to be difficult to begin with. the content updates shouldnt revolve around content that is already in the game which is being fixed to what Anet wanted it to be from the beginning but the content should be new stuff we havent heard of or seen. im not saying they shouldnt work on existing content which lacks fun/difficulty but they shouldnt make it the main content in the updates bc all their doing is fixing their mistakes.
