You can open it up for Influence from what Ive read. I know TTS is all servers and is hard for influence, but it is an option.
TTS guilds do not have influence at all. The content we have been doing since the teq revamp do not reward influence.
This change can really screw a bunch of TTS members over, such as myself, who can only play once or twice a week for a few hours. There needs to be another way to open a instanced version of world bosses for mega guilds (12 TTS guilds!) that only do “hard-core, mega-organized events”.
How can Luffy not be anyones favourite?! I honestly love One Piece it is my favourite show and I am big on shows. I am not the biggest fan of anime and yet One Piece is still at the top of my list of shows, followed by Game of Thrones (season 4 coming out this sunday baby!).
Sure people will. The patch also revitalizes different DPS aspects in classes as well – namely looking at engineer and ranger, although some minor influential changes to mesmer. Necromancer, sadly, still didn’t get much love. Guardian and elementalist got loved but I don’t think they’ll get much just due to the fact that healing and vitality isn’t quite as useful as their DPS options but they’d get nerfed too hard for many aspects of PvE if damage was brought down to a level where support was an equal option. Warrior basically got nerfed but there are plenty of other options for warrior to help increase might stacking and dual wielding looks like it can be extremely useful for the DPS-oriented, god forbid this patch push people outside their comfort zones and anyone rolling warrior might swap some Zerker for Knight’s gear to compensate for their lower regen.
I think the biggest promises in regards to these patches will be that classes will get more DPS options and free trait changes. It will open worlds of possibilities – being able to support staff on ele in one fight while d/d nuke the next. It’s not quite “Select-A-Loadout” convenient but the dedicated will find love for the new system.
The changes being made are awesome changes but that doesnt change the fact that if you get a control/support/dps group together after the update, it will still take much more time than needed to finish a dungeon path. I am just hoping they are working on adding more supportive/tanky stills in the game because they plan on adding pve content that will utilize those roles.
about control/support/dps. To me Anet is now trying to get back on track with how the game was suppose to be. Before release Anet told us about their own trinity, control/support/dps. When the game launched and people hit 80 they were using support and control builds but then started noticing that it is not worth the time it takes to kill the bosses. Then the dps meta started and hasnt stopped since. All content Anet would release was a dps race, what can you expect when you can dodge all attacks and and the boss has more hp then a elder dragon?! No one is going to waste their time doing a dungeon for 2 hours when they can do it in 30mins with a full dps group.
Now Anet are adding more supportive and tanky skills to the game which I am really happy about but that isnt going to change anything. People will still go full dps groups into dungeons because it will still be the most viable way. The only way I see people using these support/tank skills is if the AI changes as a whole. No more bosses with 1000000 hp that attacks slower than a snail. If you want people to use control/support/dps you have to get rid of defiance have bosses attack more often and lower their hp.
Gw2 was not suppose to be a pure dps game. How it was suppose to work is instead of the trinities tank/healer/dps, gw2 will have its own type of trinity, support/control/dps. Why people dont support or control in pve is because it is useless. Dynamic events rewards you based on the amount of dmg you done, 99% of dungeon bosses’s attacks can be evade without taking a single hit of dmg and defiance is a horrible mechanic. Why would someone want to use a hammer on a boss that gets 5 stack of defiance?
Like I said, gw2 was suppose to have its own type of trinity but it was just not viable in pve at all so no one uses it. Nerfing crit gear wasnt the solution clearly since pvp is fine with the dmg as is. The real problem is the 10000000 hp on bosses and that you can avoid almost all attacks with the 2 dodges available.
What needs to be done imo is that all bosses should have their health lowered, they should attack much more often, and defiance should not be in game. This would make control and support a big part of dungeons since control will actually be able to stop the boss from doing a certain attack, dps wont be king since you wont need to burst down that 10000000 hp as fast as possible and support will actually be needed.
Fire is not the only used combo field in dungeons.
Water and Lightning are used fairly often, just maybe not in PUGs.
Whirls + light fields are also good for clearing conditions.
etc.
But its k b/c you can just stack on Lupicus and win amirite?
Did I say those are the only ones? No. You can just stack, just because you have to dodge doesnt mean your not stacking.
If you’re on an EU server I could help, though I’m pretty bad at aetherpath.
I heard EU has a guild specifically for it but the lag would be horrible if I switch regions lol. I appreciate the offer though!
Why do you say that it IS fun? (I don’t mean that you have to put a “in my opinion” behind every opinion, of course) That’s subjective! Furthermore, people do know what to do (by now at least), so that argument falls flat.
You always have to know what to do before you go into a dungeon (meaning: you always have to learn certain mechanics which is true for all dungeons), even the farmed ones. Nobody went into CoE the first time, pushed Alpha against a wall and destroyed him like it is done today.
I wanna quote Nike from DnT as he just nailed it for me 2 months ago:
“TA ather path is hardly done because they confused dungeons with guild puzzles. Many other named dungeons have a small puzzle section in them (cof 1 flame braziers, TAFF bubble room) that never verge on annoying, with the exception of some of Arah p4.
However, TA ather path has 3 puzzles that are long and annoying as well as boss fights that substitute puzzle mechanics for actual mechanics. This is why it isn’t done. People want more bosses like Lupicus, or bosses that resemble the Orrian Temple bosses, not bosses like Mecha Oakheart that substitute a puzzle for interesting combat mechanics.
That is the result of Living Story developers designing a dungeon: you end up with a dungeon based around things that open world PVErs enjoy (puzzles, cluster kitten chaotic ranged fights) as opposed what makes a dungeon good.People ran Arah hardcore for over a year when it had the worst rewards of any dungeon because it was the right kind of challenging and it rewarded practice and skill. They could give Ather path the best rewards in the game (hint: it already does) and people still wouldn’t run it since the encounters are so dismal.
This, incidentally, could be avoided if Anet allowed members of the dungeon community to alpha test things the way they allow members of the WvW/PvP community to do so. It wouldn’t have taken many hours of alpha testing with some of the more serious dungeon guilds before we informed them that Ather path was complete garbage."
Most people still dont know what to do exactly. I am not saying there arent people that know what to do but if you were to get a pug groups 99% of the time they wont know what to do. I would have to disagree with having to know what to do before going into the other dungeons. I did go into a bunch of dungeons in rare gear when the game first started and cleared it without my group wiping or knowing what we were doing going into a fight. I actually like that but it would be hard to have content like that and have it be challenging every time you go in after X amount of runs.
When I say aether path is fun, I am comparing it to the dungeons in this game. I would love to see a lot changed but for now I will compare it to what is in game. The dungeons in gw2 can be much much better than what they are atm which is the whole point of this post. I want to see more interesting boss mechanics that take good team work. Something I would love to see is the use of combo fields in dungeons. People only use it to stack might but what about aoe heals, etc. It is rare to see someone use a water combo field in a dungeon.
Lupicus is not fun at all unless you solo him, even then I wouldnt really call it fun. I dont know how a boss that your whole team can stack on and kill, be interesting, hard, or fun, Which are most bosses in this game, including arah. Most people run arah for there dungeon title or to sell paths. There are people who run it for fun but I would guess there are few.
I wouldnt call aether path garbage, its a fun path compared to the rest but I wouldnt deny that there would have been a lot of changes if Anet let members of the gw2 dungeon community test it before release. Maybe Anet will do this for the next dungeon, IF WE EVER GET ONE! lol
Because Mario Party is MUCH better at Minigames.
And … Guild Puzzles do exist outside of dungeons. Why putting them into one?
And it’s unrewarding. The only reason to go in there are the skins which are very unlikely to drop.
It’s way too long.
The mechanics make you BABYSIT the bad AI of this game. (that has nothing to do with “teamwork”)
The sparky and forgot his name-fight is quite funny, though, but still just a zerker DPS race.
The puzzle is fun, just because people dont know what to do and complain about it doesnt change that fact. The rewards are bad and that is why no one does it. The dungeon is not perfect but it is still fun and a improvement from the rest of them and Anet has improved a 10x since they released that content.
I can understand why people dont like this dungeon. It was very different when it came out so a lot of people got bad groups and just raged. It is hard to go from not having to think in any dungeon to having to know what to do before going into a fight like with TA aether.
It is the most fun dungeon, if you know what you are doing, and is one of, if not, the only dungeon that promotes teamwork the whole run. I cant stand any other dungeon because it feels like a rush to the end. Everyone wants to speed run and even if we dont speed run there is no teamwork needed in any boss fight. This mentality of speed running everything needs to change. I think if all dungeons were changed to be similar to TA aether people will learn to work as a team and will start enjoying dungeons more.
Now I know there are people who enjoy dungeons the way they are, but at the same time dungeons are dead, whenever I look in the LFG tool and search under dungeons there are not that many people running them and when they are its always the fastest paths, its not the fun paths or the hard paths but the paths that are easy and give the best rewards for time spent. That is why I think all dungeons need to be changed. I think if this happens that dungeons will have much more players, IF they are more rewarding.
It is quit evident that if a dungeon or content in general does not reward enough for time spent no one will do it. The perfect example of this is fractals. Fractals are dead. There are so few people that run them any more because its just not worth it. Same with TA aether, there is a nice skin at the end, IF you get lucky, which is why no one does it. The rewards are not worth the time spent, and most people are not willing to go into a dungeon not knowing if they will get that skin at the end or not to make the run worth it.
At the end of the day I dont see Anet doing anything about this. They seem to be satisfied the way things are for some reason and there is nothing I can do about that. If they want people to play the content in their game for gold and not fun than so be it. I know I want to play for fun but there is nothing fun about speed runs or no teamwork during a team fight lol. This is just me ranting about a game I really want to see be the best in the market especially with such a tough year ahead of it.
Peace out my fellow Tyrians!
How does 2 people duelling get in the way of others? In a jp there is no body block, during a champ fight, if anything, they would help by taking aggro and doing dmg to it, and for events like Jormag I see no way they can get in they way.
If 2 people want to duel that makes them idiots?
How do you think? Take a pick from endless particle spam littering the screen, endless duel request spam (unless Anet actually include an auto-decline option) or the way the game factors all players within the vicinity of a champ boss when scaling the boss, not who’s actually landing hits on them.
Two people wanting to duel doesn’t make them idiots. Two people choosing to duel around jumping puzzles effectively reducing visibility for those of us who want to actually do the JP, Tequatl (and taking valuable slots away from people who actually want to play the event) or Lion’s Arch during big events makes them idiots.
Nothing from what you listed are valid points. First off when 2 people are duelling there is not that much effects like you saying. Auto decline is something that would be added if duelling is implemented without a doubt. Champs do not scale unless they are apart of a DE. You are clearly bias and would rather make up random bad excuses for why duelling shouldnt be added than see the good duelling will do to the game.
This path is not hard it just takes a bit of time. Most people dont do it because it takes longer than the rewards are worth unless you get really lucky. That is the one big mistake Anet made with this content. Making it so the rewards are based on luck which most people are not willing to waste their time for.
Anyway. Lazy version is you’re getting bothered by things that have largely nothing to do with you.
Well, it WILL have something to do with me when it stops me from completing content due to people either scaling it up (in case of World bosses) or making me miss jumps due to flashing lights distracting me.
2 people wont scale up a event to the point you cant do it. For your flashing problem, I can say take out the partical effects from the game because when I fight a world boss I cant see the aoe circles so I dont know when to dodge and ill die. If 2 people fighting in a jp will seriously affect your completion of it then you need to practice on your jumping.
What would making duelling fun in pve is not the fact that you are fighting 1v1 with another player but that you are fighting in the huge open world and you can do thing you wouldnt be able to in spvp. For example, if we could duel in pve we could duel while doing a jumping puzzle, we can duel around a champ, you can duel while fighting Jormag, etc. It is the options that come with duelling in pve which makes it fun not only the fact that you can duel.
Not much fun for the people who are trying to do said content whilst putting up with two idiots getting in the way, eh?

Events were suppose to scale for both big and small groups. They were suppose to be able to be done by 100 ppl or 10 ppl and be challenging both ways. Will we ever see this in the game? Something that was suppose to be in by day 1 is no where to be found. The Knights in this LS need 40+ people each and wont scale any lower! Teq needs minimum 80 IF you melee, if not you need 100+. Even Marionette was 100 minimum. I would love to see down scaling implemented like it was meant to be since day 1 of gw2. If you feel the same way leave a post.
Now that we know there is going to be a LS season 2 it would be nice to get a currency for the LS in general. How it would work is at the end of getting x/x achievements you get 10 badges. Once the season ends you can than exchange those badges for a huge variety of items from a full set of ascended armor to bags of stolen goods. A full set would cost 260 badges which would take half a year to get, if you do all LS content, and a bag of goods would be 1 badge for 30 bags or so. Of course Anet would have to balance the numbers to what they find appropriate. What do you guys think, is this a good idea if not what do you think they should do?
I haven’t ran TA aether since a month after release, the reason why would be that I would have to explain each fight every time I went in the dungeon and would have to carry alot of the times also. I am not looking for a guild that speeds runs it I want to run it legit, aka the fun way, with a experienced team that wont wipe.
If you are apart of a experienced guild or even a team that runs TA aether and are looking for more to join you please mail me in-game or send me a message. I am on a NA server.
Tamini is the best of them, …
Ty for pointing that out!
I can not stand Destiny’s Edge 2.0. They are way to soft to be any kind of hero. Rox looks like the newbiest charr ive seen, Braham is a disgrace to Eir and should never be called her son, Kasmeer I cant stand her, she is former noble who wants to be a hero but is scared of everything. Marjory is all right is guess she isnt so soft like the rest, she actually feels tough in her own way. Taimi is the best of them, I would like to see her join Destiny’s Edge and become best friends with Zojja.
Destony’s Edge are much more bad kitten . I miss their stories, I want to know what Eir is up to and Zojja. I want to see them get back together on a new journey to kill the new elder dragon. Anyone else with me here? I cant be the only one that thinks this new group is corny as hell and way too soft.

Vigil keep has all the portals.
You can get there by going through the lions arch portal in your starting city.
Will that port me straight to Vigil keep or will I have to run there?
Never mind I got it, Thanks!
Vigil keep has all the portals.
You can get there by going through the lions arch portal in your starting city.
Will that port me straight to Vigil keep or will I have to run there?
Now that LA has no portals to the main cities I was wonder how I am suppose to get my character to another start zone to finish my lvling. I am lvl 10 and almost finished the asura starter area which goes up to lvl 15. I have done almost all hearts and I’ve done all my personal story in this area. I also got all poi vistas and sp on my way, so I really need to switch zones. Thanks for the help ahead of time.
With LS s2 coming soon I thought I would see what everyone would like to see LS s2. LS s1 wasn’t the greatest but it was a experience. Seeing how Anet has improved towards the end of LS s1 I am kind of excited to see what they do.
How I would like to see LS s2 start is with a big bang. A couple of new areas with a dungeon (maybe 8 man?), a bunch of awesome dynamic events (something like Orr but more fun ) and 2 general of the new elder dragon (not too difficult where only TTS TxS and a couple servers can do it). From there I would like to see even more of Tyria! Give us moreeeeeeeeee!
So what would you guys like to see? Maybe Anet will take some of your ideas and actually implement them. So my fellow Tyrians, let your voice be heard!
I don’t know. I don’t ‘grind for gold’. A person can, if they wish to, but it isn’t necessary. You can go out and collect the mats to craft, say, Ascended Weapons or Armor. You can wait for special items to drop. It takes more time, maybe more effort, but their are choices.
For you, you said doing a raid in some other game, was repetitive, but not a ‘grind’ because you enjoyed it. For others, that would be the epitome of ‘grind’. Some people may enjoy Champ farming, so do not consider it a ‘grind’. It’s really very subjective.
At least, there are choices in the game. And, for me, that allows me to ‘play as I want to play’, and still be able to obtain the items I want. /shrug
The thing is there are no viable options other than champ farming. Of course you can get anything in the game from just playing but it wont be viable. It will take a 2 years to get a legendary if you play a lot, and that is playing how you want not grinding. Dungeons should be just as rewarding as champ farming without having to speed run the sorter paths.
A big problem is that gold is everything in this game. Other than the dungeon vendors and the trinkets you can get with laurel/fractal relics there are no other option to get armor or weapons than gold. And getting gold in Gw2, if you want to do it the most viable way, is to champ farm. It is not like I can do the dungeons I enjoy and dynamic events I want to do and end up with foefire’s essence in almost the same amount of time someone running the champ train would.
All I am saying is this game needs more options to get the better rewards. The things all pve players want, nice skins. Better in gw2, since there is no better stats, are the skins. This is the progression, imo, for the pve players. And the only viable way to progress is to champ farm as the game is atm.
I logged in just so that I could comment on this with…
ARE YOU JOKING ME???
Is there even such thing as a game where this isn’t the case lmfao?
Coming from somebody that played runescape for just about a decade, I don’t what even know is this 12 I am and what. Beep boop bop.
Clearly you are ignorant and have no idea what I am talking about.
OP seem to not really have played many MMORPG games.
Compared to other MMOs, GW2 introduced so far the quickest leveling to max and gearing up properly.
I did play couple of grindy and with a really rng + luck based games which could drive me crazy, and I’ve seen loads of people to rage quit due to rng trolling them daily.Just like WatchTheShow.7203 said.
Aion is a perfect example of rng and bit of grindy thing.
Could make a stories for campfire trips how people raged and quitted due to rng beating them in socketing gear or enchantments.Could point out Lineage 2 as well, where people finally got the best weapon they farmed for so long and it did end up being destroyed because enchanting failed.
Guild Wars 2 drop system, leveling system, gear system and raid system at this moment is much more player friendly than any game previously could ever have.
Regarding gold – really, in every MMO, in every game, if you want to get top notch stuff you have to pay for it, and it’s not cheap. Either you pay with your time battling vs rng drop rate in instances or vs certain bosses, or you purchase it from broker.
I have yet to see a guy with 200 ascend greatswords or staffs giving them out to every random level 80, or for symbolic 5 gold.Same goes for crafting. Crafting shouldn’t be easy. Especially when you’re aiming for the best weapon/gear available currently in game.
You know what’s even funnier.
After playing Aion, and being used to such rng craft as in there, I’m pretty much happy with current craft available in GW2, as you have a 100% chance to craft an item and it takes a couple of mins to recraft 1k materials unlike in Aion where you would spend around an hour.I’m not saying that GW2 is the best, and go full wannabe over it, but don’t turn pros into cons because you want it to be even easier than it already is :/
No one is understanding my point. I am not saying gw2 is a grindy game in general. I am saying if you do want a high end item in gw2 you HAVE to grind. When I say grind I mean doing something that is boring repetitive and time consuming. Something can be time consuming but not a grind. For exmaple, KN20 man raid in Tera. If I want the top tier armor I would have to run in repetitively but the raid was actually fun so it didnt feel like a grind.
Every game is going to have a grind but when it comes to gw2 if you want mist weaps you have to grind gold, if you want a legendary grind gold, if you want ascended gear grind gold. Other than the dungeon vendor, if you want armor or weapons you have to grind gold.
I had the same problem with some drops I wanted in Guild Wars 1, ergo this is not the only game it happens it. It’s also happened in other games…in fact, most MMOs have some rare drops that you have to get ultra lucky to get.
I am not against the low drop rates, what I am against is the fact that gold=everything. And best way to get gold is to champ farm, unless your one of those ppl that make hundreds of gold a day on the TP.
This is both far from the only game in which this happens and far from being the worst game in which this happens.
Nonetheless, it does suck, in every game in which it appears, and I wish ANet had had the guts to try a different type of loot system instead of copy/pasting the same old crap with individual loot drops instead of group.
I am not complain on the low drop rates but on how you obtain items. Which is grind a bunch of gold, aka champ farm, then buy what you want. The game becomes more of a job than a game at that point.
A example of what I mean would be, to get a high end exotic in gw2, you have to run Arah, TA, CoE, SE and collect a certain type of token that only drops off the trash mob. Once you collect a certain amount, you combine them together and are rewarded with Wall of the Mists, which is a shield. This is just a example dont take it word for word.
Gw2, from my experience, is the only game which you can spend countless hours grinding for a item you really want, but not get it. Gw2 is a great game but the RNG and lack of options to obtain certain armor/weaps is really depressing. I dont know if its because NCsoft wanted it this way so people buy more gems or what, but this really needs to change.
Please. I played a warrior on Aion. Some boss mob that only spawned in a PvP zone every 3 days had a 1% chance to drop a pole spear I absolutely needed. After farming him with my guild for months, he finally dropped the spear, and then some new warrior in the guild rolled on it and won it over my roll. I always sucked at rolling. It was right around that time I quit that game.
What I am saying is that, whatever you want in gw2 you have to grind gold. Unless your one of those ppl who will wait years for a high end exotic. What I am asking for is options. I dont want to run the champ train just to afford something I really want. I am willing to put in the time and effort which doesnt mean grinding. Grind meaning boring repetitive and time consuming.
Like I said I dont mind working for a certain item and taking time to get it. The problem is the way it is now, we am forced to champ farm if we want to obtain something valuable. What I am asking for is options to obtain items like volcanus, mist weaps, ascended armor/weaps, etc.
Let’s define our terms.
Grind: In a video game context means having to do something you do not enjoy to be able to do something or have something you enjoy.
Anything from gold, karma, laurels, gear, levels, to ascended items & materials can be obtained from doing nearly anything in GW2. This means dungeons, temple events in Orr, dynamic events, WvW, sPvP, gathering, living story events, fractals, jumping puzzles, personal story, mini-games, world bosses…basically the entire game.
If all or most of these elements of the game seem like a ‘grind’ to a player (by definition is not enjoyable) then they are absolutely correct in subjectively feeling GW2 is a grindy game to them. They also by definition do not enjoy this game at all.
If you dislike all the parts of something, the sum of it’s parts will be equally disliked.
I for one truly enjoy nearly every aspect of this game, so I personally see no ‘grind’ at all. I just feel like I’m playing the game, and enjoying it.
I think I need to clarify the point I am trying to get to.
Gw2 was a game where you we’re suppose to play how you like and not have to worry about not being able to afford something you want. With the exception of legendaries. So for example, if I really enjoyed the dynamic events in the game, I can only do that and still be able to get myself a nice set of armor or weaps. The way it is now, is if I want to only do dynamic events, I am not going to get anything I might make 1-1.5g a hour tops.
I am not saying that Gw2 in general is a grindy game, you dont have to grind a day after getting your exotic armor set (unless your build gets nerfed :P) but if you really want something in the game which is expensive like Volcanus, the only viable option is champ farming. Which is grindy according to your definition.
Gw2 is a really fun game but at the same time it can really be grindy for us players who want to look good, which is the progression in this game after lvl 80.
Guild Halls would be awesome, but I would recommend adding GvG first to give guilds a reason to play with each other. Because lets face it, most guilds are dead or just inactive because there is nothing to do as a guild (other than guild missions once a week).
This has nothing to do with the speed of obtaining something. It is the way the items r obtained. I dont know what ppl dont understand about this.
So you just want to get away from gold as a money system and use a different type of money? I do not see the point.
Read my prior response to if you do not understand the issue.
So your not getting my point at all i am saying a money system IS a token system your just more restricted in a token system on what you can buy then say a REAL money system (gold what it called in this game) to buy your items. What you should be asking for is to have more items that are on a RNG to be sell-able.
You will have to excuse me I am not comfortable with your token system
Also, the token system you mention is controlled by Anet which is understandable since that is how they make their revenue.
It doesn’t have to be a token system. It was just a exmaple. Any other system would work if implemented right.
I have been playing with game since BWE1, I have 2 legendarie weapons, a bunch of items and gold. .
Yet you are complaining about not being able to get items. Haha you’re funny.
I am not complain about not getting items, its about how you get the items. It pure farm gold buy matts its not like your doing, lets say, 10 Dynamic events on each map, collecting a certain token. After you have done that, you combine all tokens and get a item on the lvl of Volcanus. This is just a example, im not saying that how it should work.
So are saying Anet should just hand everyone a cool item just because u grind for a certain amount of time? What’s the point of the game if everyone has the same item and pol who don’t work hard gets the same s…t as u do
You clearly do not understand what I am trying to get to. This is about not wanting to spend time grinding for a item. It is about what you have to do to obtain a item. Its not like I can grind fractals and get a Ascended armor set, or I cant run a set amount of dungeons for Foefire’s essence or do a chain of difficult quest to get a precursor.
Of u don’t want to spend time grinding for an item then just don’t get that item period. This is Guild Wars and if this is how they set the rules of getting a cool and if u want it then follow the steps.
Lmfao are you not reading what im saying? I said its not about not spending time its about what you are doing in that time being spent.
This has nothing to do with the speed of obtaining something. It is the way the items r obtained. I dont know what ppl dont understand about this.
So you just want to get away from gold as a money system and use a different type of money? I do not see the point.
Clearly gold is not the only currency in the game. For example, pristine fractal relics can be used for Ascended armor/weaps.
Unless I want to wait a year before I can afford I 500g weapon. I have over 2k hours in gw2.
According to you you have a bunch of items and gold:
I have 2 legendarie weapons, a bunch of items and gold. .
So cash in and get what you want.
That is not the point of this post. It isnt about me. It is about the game in general. This is a huge flaw in the game, imo, and should be changed.
I have been playing with game since BWE1, I have 2 legendarie weapons, a bunch of items and gold. .

So gold? Because that is how gold works. I think you mean to say you want to get rare items easier because just having a token system dose not make things come after faster in-fact it may slow things down due to high token cost.
This has nothing to do with the speed of obtaining something. It is the way the items r obtained. I dont know what ppl dont understand about this.
I just want to know what u want to get that u say u cant get
Precursor, Ascended armor/weaps, Foefire’s essence ( and weapons alike) from fun content not the MF.
All of those items are obtainable. Precursors are the hardest but if u save up u can get it. Your Foe fire’s Essence is easy to get. U just don’t want it hard enough. How many hours have u sink in to this game I want to know?
I am not saying its not possible to get these items. What I am saying is that to get these items. I am forced to do boring content. Unless I want to wait a year before I can afford I 500g weapon. I have over 2k hours in gw2.
The argument to the grind is not it takes time to get something, its that it takes a kitten ton of gold and at the same time its not like your getting that gold from playing dungeons or doing dynamic events( unless you played the game since release and never spent any gold) the gold is from stright up spam one and WP as fast as possible.
The fact that champ farming is the most viable way to get a weapon like Foefire’s essence is sad. I wouldnt mind grinding a fun dungeon for a month or even more for a item like foefire’s. This post is about the way to obtain most items, which is gold farming, which is boring as hell the first and the last time you do it.
Ppl have there ways of making gold just because you do not want to do them dose not give you the right to pass judgment on there ways. You get a lot of good and loot from every thing you do in GW2 the amounts a very high. What are you even doing with your time in GW2 trying to fish vs ambient fish mobs?
The reason why everyone farms the way they do in gw2 is because that is the only viable farm. Why do fractals when running the champ train is more profitable? That is what most ppl think. The way i play gw2 is i do w.e I feel like doing. I’ll try to solo a dungeon, ill do dungeon story mode with newbies, I run around areas looking for cool events to do. I try to enjoy the content Anet wanted us to play, not some gindy champ train.

From the looks of your AP, looks like u haven’t played enough yet
I have been playing with game since BWE1, I have 2 legendarie weapons, a bunch of items and gold. How is 9.5k AP not alot? just means I dont do all my dailies and all meta achievements for the LS.

What can’t you get that isn’t obtainable through time spent? ie accumulation of gold or crafting?
I’d hate to return to the “/roll for a diff piece of loot in every diff instance” days of mmos….I loathed that system – the weeks and months I spent in some games just to get an item which became obsolete a few patches later was heart breaking at times.
Well there is a difference with being able to buy a item and getting a item for doing content which rewards it. In gw2 if I want something I HAVE farm gold, rather than playing the actual game. This makes it more of a job than a game.
I understand your feelings about the roll system but I am sure alot of game have improved it. For example when I played Tera, if i were to go into a dungeon with a party of 5 and I get bad rolls the first few times, most likely on the next kill my roll will be 90+.
Forget about all these relationships. The only relation i want to see is my fist relating to Scarlet’s face.
Seriously though, we have enough relationships in the game as is. We have the queen and Logan, we have the 1 female sylvari in the personal story( cant remember their names), and im sure much more I am not aware of. This isnt Love Wars 2 or Relationship wars 2, its Guild wars 2, I dont want to follow a love story I want to fight a Dragon with kitten NPCs not lovie-dovie ones.
You must be new to video games…
Well this is more about MMO games, not games in general. I played a couple MMOs and whenever I wanted something in them I would be able to get it. It wasnt dependant on my luck but on my effort/time spent.

I just wanted to say, thank you Anet for the amazing update. I love the fact that it promotes team work and not zerging.
Keep up the amazing work.
