What happen is T6 went from having from over 5 million on the TP before HoT to 50,000 today. What ever the price is, it is where it needs to be to balance the current influx of new supply to the TP.
RIP City of Heroes
The way they have it set up is the original professions you choose 3 out of 5 specializations which is 10 combinations while one elite specialization and 2 out of 5 also yields 10 combinations. That is why it’s set up like that. Allowing 4 out of 5 creates fewer possibilities, not more.
Internally to each there is 27 possibilities. 27 cubed times 10 is 196,830 possible trait setups for either original or elite. It’s not more possibilities some build crafters are looking for, it the chance to find some combination that creates an OP build that the devs missed.
RIP City of Heroes
(edited by Behellagh.1468)
Nope. Not going to change yet again. The current system was set up to allow elite specializations, we believe the next expansion will feature another elite for each profession so they won’t revamp it so soon.

Here is the thing about NCSOFT games. Games managed by NCSOFT are only in English, German, Spanish and French for NA/EU. Games licensed from NCSOFT and day to day is run by 3rd parties who pay NCSOFT royalties for the privilege, can be localized by those 3rd parties.
So until NCSOFT or ANet licenses a 3rd party to run servers in Russia, don’t think you will be seeing it happen.

I farm leather off the TP through buying armor and salvaging it. You would be surprised how cheap players are willing to accept for their unwanted leather goods.

My problem with Anet is not that they’re changing the content release schedule but that like most things GW2 since release of HoT, they weren’t communicated to us before we bought HoT
But HoT today but we’re not planning on releasing new content besides raids for half a year.
Buy HoT today but those WvW changes will go live, be bad, and be reverted.
Buy HoT today but we’re not going to bother finishing those legendary weapons we built the entire collection system around.
You think they planned the post HoT drought? That they intended development to go so long for LS3? No, it’s because of HoT’s less than stellar impact on the game that threw everything for a loop. It became a case of “lets keep the boat from sinking and then worry about which way to get us to port” triage.
If the polls are any indication, we will see those desert borderlands again in WvW. The last iteration before alpine came back really improved the movement issues those maps had. And a lot of the game play additions added to WvW when HoT went live are still there today in the alpine maps. Refined but still there.
And to nitpick, the collection system for legendary weapons were also for previous existing ones and we got all of those. But they wanted a story mode for the new ones and they thought they could do it quickly and it turned out ANet couldn’t. Sounds like a production bottleneck they couldn’t reasonably fix for the short term and it was easier to shelf the new legendary weapons for now to alleviate the bottleneck for everything else being worked on.
RIP City of Heroes
First time I heard someone complain that there may not be a limit on a item advertised to be limited.
If there is a limit, then the problem is the store only has space to say either “limit 2” or “for X days” and not both. So what is most important? Limited availability or limited quantity.
RIP City of Heroes
… clip …
My saltiness toward you was due to the proverbial straw. Your post seemed to come down of those in this thread and other threads who after getting their argument about lack of new content shut down with an announced date are now focusing on the weakest of arguments to continue bashing ANet. The notion that requiring players to log in while the episode is current to get it for free, as it was in LS2, is just another example of ANet deceiving the customer with HoT. I’m sorry you took the blunt of that but I had enough.
Not sure what you are trying to say about raids but they had their own page on the HoT site – https://heartofthorns.guildwars2.com/game/raids
The OP’s question, just noticed that this is a necro thread, got answered but it then this got turned into yet another “ANet deceived us” thread. And while you listed a legitimate issue for a minority of players who are routinely separated from their gaming machine for long stretches, that’s not why most are complaining. They are looking to salt the forums with negativity in the hopes of driving away new players. If it’s not one thing, it’ll be another. It’s whatever they can get others riled up about. They got a bone to pick with ANet and that’s it.
Again, sorry you took both barrels of my rage.
RIP City of Heroes
“I may be wrong but I think my neighbors lure children to their house with Pokemon, eat them and use their ground bones to make patio pavers.”
Sorry, stating damaging accusations of wrong doing with the phrase “I may be wrong” doesn’t excuse you from trying to stir up trouble.
I find it simply ABSURD that you feel the bar of logging in while an episode is first live as a personal affront or insurmountable barrier especially since it is the same as LS2.
And to make it easy for you, this is the one mention of living world on the HoT web site, near the bottom of the Heart of Maguma “journey deeper” section.

Of course the wording is open to many interpretations. We often see what we want to see.

It’s not entitlement, just a case where the maths and past experience with end of PvP seasons suggested that a major patch would drop today. Of course suggestion gets transformed into assured fact and now it’s yet another broken promise and a sign that PvE will now only be raids and revamped fractals … yada yada yada.
Lot’s wife got nothing on the salt some posters here have.
RIP City of Heroes
It’s like if you buy a season pass for a game and then you are told you must log in between x and y date or you won’t get the content you already paid for.
I may be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that HoT included LS3, raids, legendary weapons and other things that were meant to be added post launch.
Then show me where they said that? It’s easy to claim that they did. Just as some claim they said crafting your precursor was going to be cheaper than buying one. Or that they said you could play a fully unlocked elite spec on day one of HoT. Lots of claims with little or no backup. Always couched with “I heard that” or “I was told that”.
IIRC they only said you needed HoT to play future LS content. The fact it’s being offered like LS2 was offered is a non-issue except for drive by players.
RIP City of Heroes
my entire comment was based on the fact you weren’t really able to enjoy the HoT paid content for almost 7 months after buying it. And IMHO that is worth something. Even if you do not feel that way, a large portion of the player base does.
And that is why Anet is not equipped to deliver an expansion. It took them 7 months to make it playable for a player such as yourself.
With how they are going to pack LS3 behind the Login screen, roll down updates to 2-3 months for Gaps, it just feels like more of the same over the last 2 years.
This year, they have polished and fixed the game more then anything else. Then we got some recycled content drops mixed in with 2 new Raid wings and some other polishes.
The same can be said before HoT was released. But nothing really new as they were working on HoT at the time. So Just bug fixes/Polish/Balance for the last 2 years.
and you are ok with that?
HoT was/is a complete disaster for an expansion. They released it incomplete and let the players figure out tricks to get through most of it. Then 7 months later they actually FIX their mistakes and finish/Polish off what HoT should have been delivered as.
Personally I think Anet owes its entire player base compensation for the mess-up of the expansion. And one way they can start is by going good on their word and unlock LS3 for every HoT enabled account with out requiring anyone to login.
As I’ve stated, I played City of Heroes before this, a subscription game. A game I paid over $1000 and keep playing and paying even when it had only two updates in a span of 13 months and several 6+ month long gaps. I’ve spent considerably less to play this game and while I enjoyed the flexibility and genre of CoH more than a fantasy game, I feel I got more than my money’s worth out of this game with many, many more hours of play ahead of me.
So yes, I bought HoT, felt that I couldn’t play it in that state but I still had things I could do in the rest of the game that I hadn’t yet. I was sure that ANet would do good and fix the issues so it wasn’t a big deal to me. It’s no different than buying book 6 of a series than I’m currently on book two buy have up to book 5. My purchase was a way to acknowledge that I enjoy their work and wish them to continue creating more of it.
Now if they didn’t do right with HoT, sure, I would get upset and hesitate buying the next expansion. But this isn’t about buying another expansion. This is about “free” content for those who did buy the last one and suddenly being upset that in the name of delivering quality, unlike HoT, that they shifted their content update size and rates.
So if you feel you didn’t get your money’s worth between the original game and the expansion, the door is over there but don’t simply hang around and tear the game down that others don’t have the degree of issues you have in hopes that the game fails and the company goes out of business. I don’t want players like you succeeding by creating doubt in new players who show up to give the game a try. Not out of any loyalty to ANet but because I’m selfish and it’s those players that will let me keep playing the game with the occasional gem purchase. So if you are going to rage, rage constructively and sub making mountains out of ant hills.
RIP City of Heroes
But we knew well before HoT was released the further LS were tied to the requirement of owning HoT. We are talking well over a year that we knew this to be a requirement. A bit late to be upset by that.
I think you are missing the point here. The entire purpose of this thread is that LS3 is only included with HoT if you login while the Chapters/releases are available.
Sure they are making it retained on F2P accounts so that if they buy HoT they can jump in. But they should just activate LS3 on all HoT level accounts regardless if they login or not. As the idea has been that LS3 was going to be apart of HOT. And there should be no ‘If’ with it.
But that’s just like LS2 unless you think that they won’t offer a buy option in the Gem Shop. That model seemed to have work them so it gets repeated but with a much longer free window. A window that you don’t even need HoT to get credit for. So I don’t see the issue.
Every MMO wants to retain population, keep players playing, more so with F2P/B2P MMOs. That’s the reason for login rewards and older dailies. That’s a reason for time gated materials. It’s the reason for sales and removed items returning without prior notice of sometimes very limited time. Here are stuff that you can only do if you visit the game often and NOT wait and do it all when you return. And while you are here, did you see the new skins and conveniences in the store? How about the current sale? See how much gold you can get for your $10€ of gems?
And that’s the real reason. The game’s monthly cash flow is heavily dependent on players buying gems with cash. “For a fraction of your weekly Starbucks or artisanal cheese or micro brews budget, look what you can get in game?” And that’s not going to happen if you can’t get your players to log in regularly.
RIP City of Heroes
(edited by Behellagh.1468)
So from Oct when hoT was released until April you were unable to really dive into HoT? And you find that a good deal?
I could play HoT, it’s just I didn’t want too. The long metas, unstable client, increased GPU requirements for similar frame rate, the time of day locks of adventures, etc really put me off. But money paid, couldn’t get it back, oh well. But I did unlock gliding one so that kept me happy in core Tyria and I was one of the few players who seem to like the dessert borderlands. Of course it’s last version of DB before being swapped was better and if the poll results are any indication, we will see them again.
I got 4400 hours in this game and I still haven’t done my PS to completion on any character. Same with LS2. I don’t have enough mastery points in central Tyria to unlock and get autoloot. I’m not into fractals and dungeons were more toxic than PvP and ANet decided to lock up a LOT of central Tyria mastery points in those areas. In HoT all I need to do is visit a local to get a mastery point or get gold in an adventure. In central Tyria I need to buy a full set of race armor for a ungodly amount or get all the diving goggles including one that’s at the end of one of the more difficult JPs and it’s a blind jump into a bucket. Bringing a mesmer and revive orbs is a kitten requirement otherwise it’s another 10+ minutes to get back to that location to try again. Order of difficulty difference in getting MPs is still outrageous, but it gave me something to strive for.
And that’s the key to GW2, setting your own goals rather than expecting to be spoon fed content while being shuttled around from zone to zone.
RIP City of Heroes
But we knew well before HoT was released the further LS were tied to the requirement of owning HoT. We are talking well over a year that we knew this to be a requirement. A bit late to be upset by that.
RIP City of Heroes
And this is no different than LS 2. You had to own the game because there wasn’t a F2P option at that point. And if you missed the window that’s 200 gems. Times 8 and that’s $20€ for LS content because you weren’t paying attention. At least they’ve been offering a bundle deal for all the episodes you missed for 20% off, now 40% for the next two weeks.
But now we get an 8 to 12 week window for each episode (let’s say we are getting 3 episodes minimum). If we can keep getting updates at this rate while they are also prepping the next paid expansion, I’ll be happy.
When I played City of Heroes, our free content/technical updates ranged from roughly 8 weeks for the shortest to 32 weeks for the longest. Time between HoT and LS3, 39 weeks, but for me the April Update made HoT finally accessible to me.
RIP City of Heroes
Of course not talking about the 50 boosters and 80+ other chest items beyond tickets and scraps. There is only so many people who want and don’t already have quaggan & charr backpack skins.
RIP City of Heroes
Closest thing we ever got was exclusive giveaways at cons and that didn’t go so well for the OCD pet collectors.
RIP City of Heroes
Where does it say there will be 6-8 chapters?
There were 8 in Season 2, but Season 1 had at least 16 (29 if you count every release before the first break, I can think of numerous ways to count it that produce other totals).
That’s all that we’ve got to go on so far.
And at some point we’re going to have a second expansion.
I am going on past based releases. But the fact remains they are stating LS3 chapter Updates every 2-3 months, if there are 8 (Like in LS2) then we can expect LS3 to take 2 years~ before we get the entire release rather then 6-8 months.
I get they want to stagger releases, but common. The last 2 years of release for this game has been a complete Joke. All that HoT Hype, and nothing from jan-2015 until HoT was released, and then only 2 new Content drops with the 3rd being the HoT fixes (IMHO what hot needed to be at release so I do NOT count that as a content release, just a Bug/Balance Fix) since HoT.
And it seems that is going to be what we need to expect for this game moving forward with comments like ‘Every 2-3 Months’ from the Blog Post.
But I cannot accept it like this. When the game first shipped the content updates being on a 2 week in cycle and a 4 week out cycle was nice. They need to go back to that model but sparse it out more to a 4-6 week in cycle and possible a 8-12 week out cycle. That would be FAR better then this 2-3month LS3 chapter plan they currently have.
And I am sorry, but I will NEVER buy a 2nd Expansion for this game. HoT was a lesson to be learned. Anet does NOT have the resources to drop a quality Expansion for this game. Period.
However MO indicated that these episodes will be larger. Whether you believe him or not is totally your issue.
Some of you may look back nostalgically at 2013 when we shipped updates every two weeks. That year we shipped a wide variety of things: nine or ten releases that we’d today call a Living World episode, plus updates to systems and content for other parts of the game, plus festivals. So it was the extreme unbundled version of this. It was nice that there was always something new, but I’m personally not wistful of that cadence, because we sacrificed so much to be able to ship that frequently. With Season 3 our goal is to deliver content sustainably, at quality, establishing a pattern we don’t have to take breaks from.
RIP City of Heroes
Just a gem shop update.
RIP City of Heroes
Well five of these will guarantee a ticket obviously but 50 keys should let you get two more keys with scraps or actual drops. Note I said should. You have, according to the math, a 70.2% chance of getting 2 or more. About a 29.3% chance for 1 and a 0.5% of not getting a ticket drop or more than 10 scraps. The math says the average is 2.18 tickets out of 50 keys.
A little more math and that lowers the average cost per ticket by 26.5% or so (4500 gems for 3.18 Vs 4200 for 2.18 on average). We are still talking more than $50€ (1400 gold currently) of gems.
RIP City of Heroes
I’m sorry but did you really just use voice acting as an excuse for being so silent for so long regarding updates to the game? I’m extremely excited about LWS3, but don’t give us excuses about why it took so long
No, I think he’s using it as an indication of the size, something he inferred a couple of more times in the post, compared to the size of the LS chapters we saw in the past. Which in turn, the size, is a reason it took so long to push this out.
RIP City of Heroes
MO’s posts tend not to be a bullet list of what’s coming. The Spring Update message included a heads up about a few changes that players may want to consider doing before the update hits.
RIP City of Heroes
Because elite fighters and mages shouldn’t look like traveling peddlers?
RIP City of Heroes
“because we sacrificed so much to be able to ship that frequently” is the part that isn’t clear to me. What does Mo means with that? But reading all the other comments I realize that there is a lot more in MO’s post that can be interpreted in many ways.
I think that is in reference to horrible bugs we saw in some of the chapters of LS1 and 2. Bugs they couldn’t fix due to the ephemeral nature of the LS1 (they only persisted for a month) and waited until LS2 was finished before having time to fix.
RIP City of Heroes
Figured that the NDA dropped at UTC 0 with MO’s post. So 6 months/26 weeks after the Winter Quarterly Update.
“Out of the Shadows”. I better hurry up and do the mini content.
RIP City of Heroes
I would go into HoT to unlock mastery levels and get glider level 1. Then go back and wonder how you ever played without it in central Tyria.
RIP City of Heroes
I thought the logic was it will select anything but the critter hitting you in the face.
RIP City of Heroes
I just want to know where these other 15 playable races are, I would certainly like to go start a Tengu Warrior, Skritt Thief or maybe a Hylek Ranger.
Seriously though 40 actors for a possible ten combinations? Is there a third sex option I’ve been missing?
Okay so it’s a minor nit to pick but if he’s exaggerating about ~that~ well …what else?
4 languages (English, Spanish, French, German) x 2 genders x 5 races = 40
RIP City of Heroes
shrug
He’s vague as usual so whatever he says can be taken either way. There is a point to mentioning July and taking that off, because everyone’s expectation at this point is that it will come out in July since that lines up with the quarterly scheduling.
If they expect to ship it in July, which they would know at this point, then why bother mentioning it at all? We don’t care what the name is. By saying they won’t call it the July quarterly update, he’s giving the team time in case it doesn’t make the July cut.
Actually in fact, Mo called it both the april quarterly update and spring update.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Upcoming-changes-in-Spring-Quarterly-Update/firstHe did that post like 2-3 weeks before the release I believe, so hey July is still possible.
My point is though, don’t go overboard on the hype train and think it’s July for sure, stay calm and don’t riot if it doesn’t come out on the 19th or 26th.
True. His description of the voice over requirement may have been an attempt to explain why it’s taken so long for LS3 episode 1 to be released. It’s also implied that LS3 episodes are larger than LS1 or 2 episodes be describing how several LS1 chapters and technical updates are an unbundled version of what we will be getting.
Of course telling us this when we are only weeks away from it’s release than having some reassuring hand holding posts over the months would have kept the salinity in check a bit.
It feels great to be shipping Living World again. Thanks for your patience through the recent content draught.
As an aside MO; drought – a prolonged absence of something specified; draught – available to be drawn from a cask rather than from a sealed bottle. Maybe it’s a metaphor that this content is aged like a fine whiskey.
RIP City of Heroes
What about the long promised wvw overhaul?
Besides all the stuff we already got? Well that’s covered in these statements.
Now we integrate the episode content with the other updates that ship in this release …
With this release, we’re bundling a Living World episode with additional content for other areas of the game.
RIP City of Heroes
Tomorrow’s forum topic forecast – Salty with occasional upbeat posts that we at least heard something.
- It’s the first episode of LS 3, implying more that one episode
- It will have an episode name, not July Quarterly Update.
- Future updates should be more frequent so the term “quarterly” is inappropriate.
- The update will include other content changes besides LS3. This is likely tweaks/revamps to Fractals, WvW and PvP. So no longer separate LS content releases and technical updates.
- Living Stories won’t be held to a rigid release schedule. They will come out only when they think it’s done™.
- They are now at the point to fold LS3 into the updates that were being worked on for Live. It’s my opinion this means we likely won’t see it in July, likely August now, 4 weeks the earliest. Unless I’ve seriously overestimated how long it’ll take to localize and record 1500 lines of dialog or misunderstood that work still needs to be done.

You can always check the crafting price at sites like GW2efficiency. Otherwise looking to kill time and don’t mind, craft.

There is no LS3 hype cause its probably not going to be free for the playable chapters. Anet got their Money for HoT and I’ll be they want more money for LS3. My prediction is no Hype Train cause each playable Episode of LS3 is going to cost 600-800 gems.
Otherwise we would see some sort of PR data from Anet. Blogs or otherwise. Why else would they be so tight lipped about it.
Well, two things:
1.) They have said they want to deliver and then hype, not hype and not deliver.
2.) LS3 isn’t going to be free. It’s been said before that LS3 will require HoT. Which is not free. So, if you’re a F2P player, then you won’t get LS3. If you’re not, you’re going to get LS3.Totally missed what I was talking about.
yes we know LS3 is going to require HoT, but I’m saying (For the sake of entertainment mind you) whats to stop them from charging for LS3 as if it was another expansion but in installments instead? They charge for LS2 for those that did not logon for those 2 weeks, so what if they are just planning on charging for the playable chapters (Ingame events and open areas cant be packaged like that, not really if you think about it)? They could charge 600-800 gems per chapter, and Honestly at this point I can seriously see them going in that direction.
The blow back would kill the game and they darn well know that so even suggesting that is simply playing into the rise of salinity in these and other forums. Lets be as pessimistic as possible, lets spin scenarios that would outrage as many players as possible.
Lets roll out the manifesto video again even though many of the accusations of broken promises and outright lies were of players creations in their own mind.
It boggles my mind the visceral about a game that’s nearly four years old from players who started spewing within months of the game’s original launch, yet they are still here waiting to prove that they’re right.
You want to be angry fine, but be constructive. Realize that certain aspects of the game will never change.

Just about everything returns, it’s just we won’t be told about it in advance.

From what I’m hearing, ANet is going to start hosting streamers recapping LS 2, one chapter a day starting Friday. I’m also guessing they may also do the HoT story chapters, all as a lead it for the LS 3 and the summer update. I would also imagine some official info over that period as well from ANet.
The 24th will be 26 weeks after the first quarterly update.
RIP City of Heroes
Actual scripts need to be at the very least tested against the current engine and then may need to be tweaked (and thus tested again). Those development hours have to come from somewhere so to do something like that would mean that other development would suffer.
It shouldn’t. What you are talking about wouldn’t be done by the dev team. Change management, agile working, testing.. it’s a whole separate process. Actually completely irrelevant if anet don’t work this way but from a content re-use point of view it would be useful if they started working this way. Look at SAB, content can be reused. May not be what anet want, may not be how original content was coded, may just not be worth it to them but it shouldn’t hold up other content in development.
I’m totally in two minds. I am with you on the drought meaning I’m catching up on tons of stuff that I never got round to doing, I did a lot of LS2 achievements, feel like I’m making actual HoT progress with things like adventures and collections and I’m still managing to get in some dungeons and fractals and so on.
On the other hand IF standalone content like the festivals could be rolled out on a year round schedule so there was an Easter event, a Xmas event, a Summer event.. whatever.. then I’d be fine with that. Would give me a chance to catch up on things I’d started there and not finished. Or I could totally ignore the event and just carry on working on HoT collections.
SAB had to be recoded if you watched the interviews, to support engine changes. That’s why it didn’t come back sooner.
RIP City of Heroes
Whats wrong with using Wine?
I am guessing you are a windows user? Maybe they should JUST develop a linux and/or macos version and windows users could use an emulation layer instead of us? How long do you think it will be before you are complaining about the situation?
But here’s the thing, Windows is the predominate OS for personal PCs therefore it makes logical sense to develop for it. Linux on the home PC is minuscule therefore why it’s not. While it’s noble and all to fight Microsoft’s domination and support open source and open APIs, it’s simply not at a primary gaming target.
So Windows will likely never see an emulator for a more dominate platform gaming platform. It’s the majority and Linux isn’t.
RIP City of Heroes
Two things. First is every time they roll out a repeat of a festival, no matter how much content/rewards got tweaked, there is a contingent of players who cry about how it’s not “new” content. The other is the game engine does evolve over time and it’s not just reactivating old content. Actual scripts need to be at the very least tested against the current engine and then may need to be tweaked (and thus tested again). Those development hours have to come from somewhere so to do something like that would mean that other development would suffer.
And I’m loving this “drought” because now I have the time to work on items I never had a chance to get done before. The new dailies are directing me to JPs and mini-dungeons I had no idea existed before (and I don’t just wait for the portal). I’ve been re-exploring the core maps with gliding. I’m getting my crafting maxed out an several characters so I can make ascended armor and weapons, from scratch. Making Mawdrey. Trying out fractals. Even doing dungeons.
To be clean I’m not a newb, I have over 4400 hours in this game and I’ve never done those things before.
RIP City of Heroes
Honestly, they don’t need to acknowledge that they’ve seen a suggestion. They don’t need to say that it’s a good idea or that it’s laughable. Or why it may be a good idea but there isn’t time in the schedule to do it justice.
RIP City of Heroes

Oh, I know @JustTrogdor. And it might be the start of an entire game engine revamp looking at a multiplatform/multi API. But I’m thinking we won’t see anything come from this for a year when they first told us about it. And then the next question is would they even consider Linux unless they get some Value love ($$).
RIP City of Heroes
Linux never grabbed market share since its existence.
Linux people were there when Win95 was handing out bluescreens for everything, they were there when people disliked Vista after years of XP and now when they are having this catastrophe called Win10. Still, Linux never takes off.
For me, I can not stand the elitist attitude of many of these “developers”. They never really finish anything. So many distributions, and none really get anywhere. I read about new desktops, but yes, you can do that on Windows too (just replace Explorer.exe with whatever Shell you like; I did so in the past as well). Apart from that, it is good for tinkering on low-end systems (eeePC, Raspberry Pi), Apache servers and for poor people (“Yay, a free OS!”). All the experience with Linux I had was Googling, searching in forums and some IRC. To get one of the basic, v0.0.1.2.6 drivers done.
Look at OpenOffice. Now it’s OpenOffice, NeoOffice and LibreOffice. Or Opera. Turned into Opera, Opera with Chromium and Vivendi (Opera with Chromium). This typical Linux behaviour of “never get anything done” is maybe what keeps it back. Or SmartTVs that crash when accessing connected USB drives. . .
When I would be ArenaNet, I would not want to build on sand as well..
I got my Win7 systembuilder and will stick to it until the last day.
Core of Android is a Linux kernel with the apps written in JAVA. So yes, Linux is everywhere.
What is needed is a game console OS built around Linux and that’s what the Steam Box is. And like the current XBone and PS4, it’s a PC in a console’s clothing. And it’ll never fly because of the target price point of consoles VS PCs.
As for a native Linux version, not going to happen for the same reason we don’t have a native Mac version. The game engine wasn’t designed to be cross platform and doing so as an afterthought is more expensive and it is a simple trade off between cost to do and additional income if they do VS Cider/Wine emulation in which the Cider version is in perpetual Beta since Cider is in perpetual Beta if nVidia is still actively supporting it at all.
But I disagree with the whole notion that the PC gaming market is dying. They’ve been saying this since the XBox 360/PS3 era and hasn’t happen yet. There will always be a push for faster, higher resolution gaming that far exceeds the capabilities of the current general of consoles. And that’s where PC gaming lives. The console will always be designed around a 5+ year old gaming PC hardware to keep the price in check.
So keep wishing.

But it’s also, DG Achievement, a Central Tyria Mastery Point. That’s the issue.

thanks for all the responses. I ended up dropping another $100, and buying another CPU.
Now the FPS is where it needs to be. Just unfortunate Gw2 does not utilize system resources efficiently between directx 9, windows 10, AMD, and Geforce drivers.
No, it’s because AMD’s current generation of CPUs are simply outmatched by Intel’s. AMD simply guessed wrong where computing was going in the near future.
