Last I checked, Gamesdeal.com were doing 2000 gens for £15.25 + charge for paypal etc, which I detest using and paying for :d

Interesting, they are under PC/Mac Games and not Game Cards.

Wouldn’t 2000 gems cost £21.25? £15.25 seems like a deal. In USD it’s $23.12, not a lot of savings since I can still get them at Target and Best Buy.

They are only “pathetic” because you set your expectations high to begin with. If you remember them from the early days you should know they were nerfed to these levels because they were run so frequently back then that the influx of coin and items from them were disrupting the economy.

The dungeon rewards were never nerfed, nor changed since they were introduced. The devs said they will be watching them and make adjustments as needed, but no adjustments were ever made to them.

Sorry, the ability to run a path them an unlimited number of times on an account and get the full reward was changed.

On the Exchange page of the BLTP the “Custom Exchange” button is on the bottom.

Once there you enter the number of gems you want to buy on the Get Gems side and click on “Buy” button on the far right and not the “Buy More Gems” button underneath .

No one really has that information. Sites like gw2spidy and gw2tp sample the TP periodically but it’s like going into your grocery story and counting the number of boxes of Capt Crunch every hour. You have no idea on how many are sold or how many boxes were restocked between counting.

You can try to infer based on the graphs depicting items for sale. Players aren’t willing to take a loss pulling a sale so when supply drops it’s likely a sale. Offers on the other hand are fully refundable so a decrease in bids could be a sale or could be pulling bids.

gw2tp samples more frequently than gw2spidy.

His CPU is still faster than the Athlon 64 X2’s that is still listed as minimal requirements and keeping the more CPU intense settings on low (shadows, reflection, character model limit) it’s not as much of an issue.

However The GTX 750Ti is such a marked improvement in graphics performance it would allow a higher frame rate with more of the pretty turned on. Plus they can still use it when they do jump to a more recent mb/cpu/ram configuration.

There are some options but you will have to buy used CPUs from your local computer recycle store or eBay. You also have to figure out what CPUs your motherboard will recognize since CPUs that fit you MB but were released afterwards may not be recognized. Ideally you would be looking for a quad core, the game works better with more than two cores, with a clock speed higher than your current CPU. Like I said you need to know what’s compatible with your MB. Right now the Q9650 used on eBay is in the $80 range.

Graphics, yea, you could swap in something more modern. PCIe bus negotiates for compatible data rates so even today’s cards should word in them. The 9600 GT was a 96 watt card according to nVidia so something like the GTX 750Ti should work fine and blow away, on paper the 9600 GT. It’s currently around $120-140 for a 2GB card.

But as everyone has already pointed out, this, well not the graphics card, is throwing money at a deadend. The current modern dual core Pentium for socket 1150 is twice as fast as yours and the price and performance of the CPU is similar to a used Q9650.

ACCOUNT AND PAYMENTS TO ArenaNet

Periodic Payments Related to Accounts, Service and Content – ArenaNet may, in its reasonable discretion, require You to pay to establish or maintain any Account, to use any Service or to use any Content. You acknowledge that if You are required to do so, but do not, then ArenaNet may terminate Your Account under Section 3(b). You additionally acknowledge that ArenaNet may require such payments on any basis it deems appropriate in its reasonable discretion, including but not limited to any per-use or periodic basis (such as a number of hours, days or months). And You acknowledge that ArenaNet may, in its reasonable discretion, establish the timing and form in which such payment must be made, including but not limited to credit cards or online payment services.

A little worrying for the future?

Sounds like a P2P endeavor going on for the future of GW2?

Other than the name change from “NCSOFT” to “ArenaNet” and “sole and absolute” to “reasonable” that paragraph always existed in the EULA. This has been pointed out again and again in this thread.

This was the original.

Note about half way down, right column of the Graphics card tab it says your graphics card is running @ x1 2.0, that’s your problem.

Not sure why this happens on occasion, that the card simply doesn’t use all 16 PCIe channels.

Again you only have one physical x16 slot? And that’s the closest one to the CPU? Pull the card, make show the slot is clean and the edge connector on the card isn’t tarnished and reseat it. I would appreciate any other suggestions as well.

I like the change from “sole and absolute” to “reasonable” discretion everywhere. They also made it clear that while the account is still non-transferable, it doesn’t prevent you from reselling the DVD or Blu-Ray containing the game.

They also softened the language for deleting gems from “any reason, including without limitation” to “fraudulent activities”.

Generally it’s replacing “NCSOFT” with “ArenaNet” and “software” with “game” and including some specific language for Germany.

Rant about gemstore selling strategy

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Behellagh.1468

Behellagh.1468

These Gem Shop sales always spike the exchange rate since it’s movement is based on the balance of Gold vs Gems added to the exchange by players. Players convert their gold hoard into gems to buy these items, especially popular returning items like Kasmeer’s Staff and the White Wings Skin. In the past the rate quickly drops once the sale is over as players buy gems and convert them into gold.

Right now it’s about 12.7 gold per $1€ of gems. A $25 Gem Card is worth around 320 gold.

Working yes. Potentially harmful, also yes. It is NOT recommended by the engineers who built the CPU, sure you can do it just as people violated the specs by running 1.65 volt DDR3 memory on the last few generations of Intel CPU that used DDR3 in the past.

BUT IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED. IT STRESSES THE MEMORY CONTROLLER IN THE CPU WITH SIGNAL VOLTAGES EXCEEDING IT’S SPECIFICATIONS.

So save $60 by reusing your memory if you switch to Skylake but realize you could be shooting yourself in the foot by damaging your $300+ CPU.

Did you put the video card into the wrong slot? The x16 physically closest to the CPU is usually the true x16 slot. You may want to pull and reseat it. Also if you videocard takes external power, make sure that connector is firmly connected.

Run the GPU-Z utility (google for it) and post a screen shot of it’s results. I’m going to guess it stuck running only x1 and it’s not “waking up” from 2D mode.

They just killed one of these threads because nothing every good comes from one.

Should there be more useful builds for party content like dungeons or fractals, sure. But right now the vast majority of PUGs forming for those events want to do them as quick as possible and that means a certain build, skills and tactics that if you are don’t have or are unfamiliar with need not apply. Respect the pugs requirements. But this goes both ways. Don’t join a learners PUG only to abandon it because they aren’t fast or knowledgeable of tactics and don’t hijack one because you are too lazy to put up your own LFG request.

If the Meta and non-Meta keep to themselves there won’t be friction but human nature means players are impatient and rather than group with there own will group with anyone and that’s when the calls about griefing comes out.

Clover seems to be similar in color for cloth and leather. However emblazed reflects light differently. It’s darker, a bit more orange and mottled, like there’s a lacquer on it. You can look it up on the TP and right click preview to see it. The starter Autumn is also close.

Screw the player base. The “player base” is a fractured group of conflicting wants and needs that is impossible to satisfy one without ticking another portion off. It’s trying to spin an infinite number of plates while on a tilt-a-whirl. Carbine listened to players who insisted that there was a large number of players champing at the bit for an MMO with 40 man raids and should cater to the hard core.

If the devs listen to the player base we would be playing a WoW clone with mounts, dueling, a hard trilogy and raids while their original vision would be totally gone.
