You can get 2600 toughness, 38% crit chance(base) 65% crit damage(base), with 2700 power, and an added bonus, 1200 condition damage and 20K HP if you build your ranger right.
Can you share that build?
Because it looks great imo.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
You know that the other classes will also get those armors right?
You also know that, even without the ascended armor, most of the other class … actually almost anyone can kill you in a few hits (maybe in 1 hit) with you using that build.
And finishing, just like your power will get higher, the target defenses will also get higher, in my case tou, vit, healing and cond damage will all get higher, and the armor in general.
PS: Our pets won’t get any better, but the other classes will get 100% of the new bonuses.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I think that Sic’Em reveal effect will only happen when the pet hit the target, so the chances of it actually work is very low, and if it hits it will most likely have a very low duration, probably around 5 seconds (I can see it won’t be affected by condition duration), and since the skill will get a “buff” the CD will probably get higher or the pet wont get stealth or something around that line, since a buff for us can’t come without a nerf.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
There is a video of a ranger soloing HotW, other of a ranger soloing Lupi, and I soloed the Snowblind Fractal lvl 1 w/o consumables just to test my build.
The problem is that ranger solo dungeons will be REALLY slow, but I’m sure it is doable, we have great survivability with condition and/or BM builds, other classes have better survival option with power builds, making the run faster.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yes, the passive effect + the current RaO would be nice, but then RaO would be a signet, how it would work with traits, like Signet of the Beastmaster?
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
So you want an elite that relies entirely on the pet death?
I’m not really sure if you are trolling or what …
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Link to the leaked patch notes, please~
That HP buff is for minions. Do Pets count as minions?
Yes
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Well … with the leaked patch notes the pets/minions will get a 71% HP buff, that will make our pets way more tankier than many players, so probably the new shockwave will 1 hit kill players but not minions.
I know, it isn’t official patch note, but the last 3 leaked patches was all spot on, with little to no changes on release.

Just like Basara I’m a Brazilian playing in HoD, and so far I think I saw about 3 other Brazilians in our server, so I never noticed spams made in portuguese or in any other language besides english, to be honest, but I’ve seem many guild spams in /map.
I know that many players in HoD are from Australia, Singapore and China, or at least my guild have many from those countries, and they also suffer from ping issues and I’m sure that in your server have many players from those countries too, so why pick only with the brazilians?
An optional “BR Server” would be really cool and I’m sure many would love that, but I doubt that would be profitable for Anet, the amount of BRs willing to pay for GW2 is way lower than FR and DE players.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
A detail that I remembered from the good old days is that rangers had the highest natural elemental defense, stat that doesn’t exist anymore but at least it was something rangers had that no one else had.
Besides traps, rangers had great interrupt skills, and a skilled ranger could shut down the whole enemy team.
I still love my ranger, but GW1 rangers was great.

Why would players get SAB rewards w/o doing SAB?
hmm idk .. maybe because it’s SAB month 0.o? and because we have limited amount of baubles… and countless death >.> and it will help new players since they don’t have much gold with them to buy the infinite continue coin.
In that case get continue coins, as suggested in the above posts, would be way better solution.
Players would get incentive to do SAB and then be rewarded with baubles.

Why would players get SAB rewards w/o doing SAB?
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Both sets looks great, but I like the WvW color scheme better.
8.7 PvE/ 9.5 WvW
This is mine:

There is a stat combo that gives Condition , toughness , precision and some healing power . I am thinking bout getting that
There is only ascended trinkets that is Rabid/Apothecary that gives those stats, but I don’t think it will be possible to craft a weapon with that hybrid combination.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I use Healing Spring for the condition removal and party support.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I’m using a mix of Shaman and Settlers to have a balance of vit and tou in my build, this stat combo is way too perfect
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Proof of those stats coming?
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/economy-report-brace-yourself-disequilibrium-is-coming/
Explorer’s recipes will be replaced with the Assassin’s stat combo (Precision, Power, Critical Damage)
Traveler’s drops will be replaced with the Dire Stat Combo (Condition Damage, Toughness, Vitality)
Pillagers recipes will be replaced with the Hunter’s stat combo (Precision, Power)
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
That is just one of the statistic they can show us, I’m sure they have other datas like “time played per class”, “average level per class”, among others, those really inform the situation of a class.
I have 1 of each class, ranger, guardian, warrior, necro and mesmer are lvl 80 and the rest are lvl 30~40, but 50% of my play time is on my ranger, but I’m sure I’m among the few that really like to play as a ranger.

Question: Why are people using torch with axe?
In my cond build I mainly use axe torch.
Burn cause a lot of damage but doesn’t last much, so … torch #4 while engaging the fight, when close use torch #5 and inside the fire field I use axe #2 to spread more burn then swap to axe/dagger (yes I use main axe on both sets) use dagger #5 to bleed and cause more burn (projectile finisher).
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Many times when I get downed I send my pet to kill something nearby (with low HP or a yellow mob) and rally from it, jaguar do it well, reef and river drakes F2 also do it very well, and while you wait for the kill you have the skill #2 to interrupt.
Also don’t forget you can swap pet while downed, so if your pet is far, just swap and it will be right next to you.
As a ranger we have 99 problems but downed state ain’t one.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
The build I’m aiming for is the following: http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-H;4wEky-x2kDV-0;9-8j;2TT9;217A36A2;3KJF44;1NX8aNX8aE0FjeIweL0;1d-46W13b3b1b0X0OF2m;6WCuNYCu;9;9;9;9;7VTk3kitten
da looks like yours, but the differences are:
The bad
*4% less crit chance
*40 less healing power
*almost no power
*lower condition duration
The good
*1500 more HP
*460 more armor
*3 more sources of healing (SotW, NM Rejuvenation, Omnomberry Pie)
*376 more condition damge
I’m just not sure if I want to change to that build because the new one depends on foods to actually work, while my current build doesn’t.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Sure.
In zerg I rarely need to equip my WH (from inventory) for the swiftness with all the guardian staff #3, warrior banners, other rangers WH and so on being cast all around.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
To be true, even that tankier setup seems very squishy, from that other build you just switch 90 healing power for toughness.
Since your healing comes mainly from your group, why invest in healing at all?
Just for the healing spring the 300 healing from BM should be enough.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
(edited by Belzebu.3912)
I would like to watch that build in action, because looking at the build it seems way too hybrid (power/condition) and in the end you may cause low raw damage and low cond damage, besides the low HP and medium Armor and Healing Power with almost nothing healing you besides the H.spring gives the impression of being very squishy.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Thief’s hood transmuted to karma armor: awesome or amazing?
I agree
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
The power modifier for rangers is lower than the other classes and most of the damage from power comes from Crit Damage, that said looks like your build will benefit a lot more from 250 cond damage, so go with the sigil of corruption.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I look better! :-D Yay for mix-matching armor!
Whoa!! Do you mind telling me where you took 3rd and 4th pics? This place is STUNNING!
@Jericho: The fourth pic you posted is really sweet! Where was that taken?
That place looks like the Langmar Estate Guild Puzzle where we need to open some curtains and do an emote to open the door.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I use Reef and River drakes, the AoE, F2 skill, high HP, cure, blast finisher, all that makes them amazing at PvE.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
the whole dwarf race falling to just a dragons champion,
Nope, the dwarves started the Great Dwarf Ritual and turned into stone to fight the Primordus champion but most survived that part (the players killed the champion in the end of GW1) and kept fighting against the Elder Dragon since them, so they died against the Elder dragon and not against the champion.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yeah it is very simple, they don’t have base HP like normal characters, but the values are kinda high, like a cat/bird pet have around 20k HP, and they are the ones with the lowest HP.
For crit rate you just divide the precision by 21 (if you are at lvl 80) and you get he crit rate.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Reisinger, this is Bardy from our guild, we were talking about power vs cond as ranger a couple days ago
In WvW I think that condition builds works very well and rangers do great as one. Traps, torch, axe all that offers a lot of AoE and conditions, so even in a zerg fight you’ll be tagging a lot, also a cond build usually have a high survivability, so you’ll be alive more time to cause damage.
But for PvE, Dungeons and World bosses, zerker reigns supreme.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
When you open the achievements menu, in the top you’ll see some chests with numbers under them, those are the required Achievement Points for the chests and if you hover the mouse over them you’ll see the rewards too.
Check the wiki for more info: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Achievement_rewards

Really nice song.
The text in your link is very touching, I’m glad that you are enjoying our guild so much.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I was making some tests in the mists last night against the heavy golem and with 2.4k power, my axe auto-attack was causing around 550 damage (non crit), so with about 100% crit damage you’ll be causing 1375 damage, and that sounds kinda low for a glassy build, but I know that in PvE/WvW the damage can get higher, can you show a screenshot of the damage log?
I’m asking this because I love using axe on my ranger and I was interested in change to a power build, but I don’t want to spend a lot of gold/resources to gear up and be less efficient than I am now with a cond build.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Piercing arrows doesn’t boost any damage, it just makes the arrows hit any target in the path of the arrow, so your arrows become a line AoE.
If you are running with a zerg it is really nice in WvW, in sPvP there isn’t many times where you can shot people in line, in PvE is depends, if you don’t want to get some aggro then don’t use it.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
My guess?
There are five of us.
Abaddon fought five gods.
Remember Urban Battleground Fractal and turning into charr?
Yeah.
yes … YES!
I can see it already, each class turn into a God, like Rangers turn into Melandru, Guardians turn into Dwayna, Necros and Thief into Grenth and so on.
Or even randomly turn each of the 5 into one of the Gods and then an epic fight against Abaddon.
I think that the Abaddon’s fall fractal will be more interesting, but I’m sure that sooner or later both fractals will be available, so I’ll vote for Kiel for the WP fee reduction and be able to check the story behind the reactor first, then we’ll see Abaddon’s fall later.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
He could have changed to death shroud (pretty much a 2nd HP bar) in middle of the fight + heal/regen + maybe Lich form, all that mitigate damage.
Necros can take A LOT of damage.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Really fun video but … what makes you think that those guys are lvl 80?
Upleveled characters have that green arrow next their name.
But yeah… maybe their characters are level 80, but the players are just level 1 :p
I never noticed that in WvW
lol yeah, there are many lvl 1 players out there.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Really fun video but … what makes you think that those guys are lvl 80?

I’ll prob change to something like this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fMAQRAnf3YnAV0FcfFKWwaZgo9QTm/8vCzy9YUoqTp8jv82D-jwCBoMRExJwkHBiEJ05dFRjtyqIas6ZER1qbYWdAWxa1GyJCA-e
Insane armor, good cond damage, good heal, pet will have a nice survivability, and good cond removal options.
Just change the NM XII trait for the new shout one and it is done.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I think there is a mistake in the notes, in the file says: “Splitblade: Reduced the aftercast on this skill from .4 seconds to .2 seconds.”
It is probably for Ricochet since Splitblade have a 6 sec cooldown. Or with the “aftercast” they mean the cast time?
If I’m right then axe will get even better, and I already use axe in both my sets, I can’t get used to sword , and the auto attack get 2x faster is awesome.
Also, the LB changes looks very good IMO
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
In one of the Norn Personal Story you get a weapons where you can summon a pet Griffon, it looks awesome and part of the code is already in the game.
Well, Anet added the reef drake in an update, we can hope for new pets later.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Uhh, no, it isn’t. Because no one does unless its their first character. Also, you can still enjoy dead zones at level 80.
I have 3 lvl 80 toons, all with their PS complete and 5 other toons around lvl 30~40 with barely touching any craft skill, and I love mapping / open word PvE.
You are the kind of person that thinks that your point of view is the right one.
Answering your question, check this site: http://www.gw2crafts.net/ , there are normal and fast guides, just buy all the ingredients required then level your alt, for whatever reason you want.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I currently use Reyna’s (Shaman) armor + weapons with Apothecary trinkets, I think mix some Settler’s among the Reyna’s will be perfect.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
It changed a few updates ago.
The skill was never supposed to heal the player, they just fixed it and now works as intended.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
So what spawns it, just four rangers using warhorn 5 at the same time?
Just need 3 rangers, but yeah, only use WH #5 and that happens.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I run a similar build, but my build is more all around for PvE and WvW.
It is also a trapper build but focused on BM and go more into Vit than Tou
Link to build: http://bit.ly/15mSIrv
I wear Reyna’s set and Shaman weapons (WAY cheaper than Apothecary), have a great AoE, runs amazingly well in dungeons and works well in WvW, just not as good as yours in duels, but in small and big zergs I do great.
The problem in my build that I’m trying to look for a better alternative is condition removal, I only have the tick from healing spring and nothing else, maybe change my Undead runes to Melandru but I’m not comfortable with the cond. damage loss.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I don’t really remember people complaining that rangers are bad in t/sPVP, most of the complain are rangers in WvW (besides duels) and in Dungeons.
In general I think rangers do great if the player know your role, as a ranger you’ll never be “THE” DPS.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I run jaguar/devourer the whole dungeon or change to dual devourer for the last boss if the party lack a bit of support.
