I don’t know why this whole Scarlet thing surprises anyone.
I mean, nearly the same thing happened with GW1 with Abaddon. He was rewritten to be behind not just Nightfall, but the Searing and Shiro as well. Same major players in the dev team too.
I was about to make the same comparison, but at least “blame” an ex human God of all that and then do the same but now with just a Sylvari prodigy is kinda weird.
Also we only knew that Abaddon was behind it all in the end, along the way the story didn’t open much doubts and could be finished without the add of Abaddon.

Curious: why do Sigils of Battle and Purity share CD’s, one is on-crit, and one is on swap.
The on swap sigils have an internal CD to prevent stacking by getting and dropping bundles, and all sigils share the same global CD, so for example, you swap weapon and the sigil of battle triggers, during the 9s of its ICD the sigil of purity won’t trigger.

Low HP and armor, no healing power, only cond cleanse is from the sigil (btw sigil of purity and battle share the same cooldown, just like all sigils), besides the TU no source of regen … anywhere else besides open world PvE you’ll died FAST.
At least the damage seems ok if you are going solo, quite high cond damage and power.

Human population in Tyria is reducing, between civil wars and foreign wars (charrs, centaurs, dragon minions) they aren’t expanding much.
Charrs expanded to Ascalon, Norns moved southern in Shiverpeaks and expanded their numbers and places compared to 250 years ago, Asuras expanded Rata Sum and their labs across the world (CoE, Thaumanova …), Sylvari is tricky to say since they only have 25 years of existence, humans lost Ascalon, had to rebuild Lions Arch, lost Orr long time ago, they only made Divinity’s Reach and moved there.

I “fix” the size issue with my norn while running Jumping Puzzles using tonics.
In the end it is a matter of getting used, I finished 100% of JPs with my norn w/o tonics.

No, there was an update where the pet now SHARE the agony resistance of the ranger, before that a ranger could have 55 AR and the pet would die in a blink.
Lately Anet is considering pets on the updates, like in the Golem world event pets are immune to the electric field, let’s see if Anet keep with the good work or we’ll get more disapointments.

Norns are very flexible, the main goal of one is to become a legend among them, but how you’ll do it is by your own, using magic, necromancy, stealth, melee, long range, gadgets, doesn’t matter.
Look that Norn in Hoelbrak near the Keg Brawl vista, he wants to be known by counting snow flakes

I’m running an weird power build that I’m enjoying A LOT.
Zerzer armor + Zerker/Valk trinkets and weapons, 20/20/20/10/0 build.
Weapons are axe/axe + axe/wh
In the end the stats are 2.3k power (w/o food), 117% crit damage (with honed axe), 60% crit (w/o fury), 18.5k HP
With sigil of blood + SotW + mango pie I have really good survivability even with 0 healing power, in WvW zergs and even better at small groups the axe #1, #4 and #5 are really nice, wh #4 hit stealth targets if you cast it before, also healing spring + wh #5 cures a lot you and people near you.
I only tested this build for 2 days, I’m really enjoying it, and it also works really well at PvE and dungeons, I know that axe isn’t a great power weapon but I really like it.

Well, in the Anet stream showing a guide for rangers the dev said that LB isn’t really effective as you get further into the game, so yeah … they know LB isn’t good and I doubt it will ever change.

I’d argue that it is completed, that’s just the aesthetics of the charr. To have something that’s more bare bones but solid of a structure than something that’s all pretty looking.
I would say more, since Black Citadel is the Iron Legion HQ, it doesn’t look unfinished but it is constantly growing, they are always making new improvements, always looking towards efficiency and not aesthetic.
I can’t wait to see the “Blood Citadel” and the “Ash Citadel” .

I would agree with you if the AoE targetting was improved. I just find it very annoying, especially with engineer grenades where all skills are AoE. You really need a multi-button mouse for it I guess. Pressing 1-5 while trying to move with WASD while keeping the right-mouse-button pressed to turn and the cursor to aim and having to trial-and-error to find the max range. Too much of a struggle with the controls.
With the new AoE option to cast on button release, cast the grenades got much easier, at least for me.
Also that is a player side problem, I agree that play with LB is WAY easier, but we need to agree that grenades have much more potential.
I love ranger, but sadly long range damage isn’t the strongest option for a ranger currently.

Because when you press F2 as a ranger the server side need to check the state of what the pet is doing, depending of the skill the animation need to be stopped and after that the F2 will be triggered.
Mesmer clones only have 1 action and don’t need to make any decision since it can’t change target or execute multiple AI choices, so when you shatter all the server need to do is stop the state the clone have and start the shatter skill you picked.

I’m on my way to have all classes at lvl 80, a couple weeks ago I got my engineer to 80 (now I only need thief and ele to finish) and traited granades also have 1500 range, are faster than LB, have a pretty good damage, is AoE, and cause many conditions (bleeding, burn, poison, vulnerability and freezing), can be used in walls and spots where arrows would cause “obstructed”, all that using only 1 utility slot, so you can also have many more support skills.
Ranger is my main, but I would pick a engineer over a LB ranger anytime.

About the pet mechanic, ok I see that make the F2 skills cast faster won’t be fixed any time soon, so let’s to the next problem, pets have huge trouble to hit moving targets.
If you do the heart quest in Wayfarer Foothills where you transform into a snow leopard and need to kill some stuff, including running prays like rabbits, you can notice that it is really hard to hit, then I payed more attention on how our pets attack and I saw the problem, pets try to attack as soon as the maximum target distance is reached (or close to that), since the attack animation takes a few moments, if the target moves just a bit he’ll leave the attack radius.
The solution I see to that is make the pet trigger the attack only if the target is at around 30~50% of the attack radius (those numbers may be tweaked), for example if an attack have a reach of 120 then the pet only attack if the target is at 35~60 of distance, so if the target moves there is a bigger chance of that attack actually land.
That solution may make the pet take a bit longer to attack but since the chance of the attack actually land will increase a lot, it will make up for that.

Frost and Flame traps have, Viper and Spike don’t. and that is it.

I used to run a build similar to that, but with 0/20/20/0/30 to get more cond damage and toughness and the off hand mastery, and I loved that build.
I changed when pet damage got lowered and after some tests my drake was still tanky enough w/o the BM trait line, also I was suffering a lot by the lack of cond removal besides the HS, so now I run 0/30/30/10/0.

I’m also having that problem, but to make sure it is the same issues do the following.
In game type “/ip” that way you get the IP of your server.
Out of the game run the CMD and then execute the following command “tracert <ip you got previously>”, that command will show the status of each step your computer takes to reach the server you play, if any of the steps gets high ping (over 1k) and get packet losses then there is nothing much you can do to solve it, but Anet should check with their ISP what is going on with that.

I’m also having that problem, apparently it is a server in Dallas that is having some problems, called Level3 or something like that, using the tracert command to my server IP my ping goes from about 120~200ms to over 1,5k when those servers are reached, and also get packet losses, around 40~65% loss.
I later made a test using a tunneling/proxy software called WTFast and my connection got WAY better, from around 1 minute lag and constant DCs my ping went to about 180ms and no DCs at all.
I’m from Brazil, and I play since the BWE1 and I never experienced such terrible lag issues, people at Anet should check their ISP because there is a problem in the route to their servers that is affecting MANY players.
