No sound except character voices in WvW

Yet again it strikes! Log in this morning to do some gathering, ran about on my warrior, nothing wrong.

Log in to my engineer, see an event, join in, sound vanishes partially. No footsteps, jump sounds, or shots from pistols. Soon enough, no music, no enemy sounds only the very rare character dialogue.

This has honestly become irritating to the point I dont want to play the game! Please fix this bug soon, I have tried everything my end.

I posted mine in bugs, but I will tell my story of this same problem here too.

Playing WvW, sound will seem to give up, unless back at starting area. Now and then you will hear the odd sound, but for the most part no sounds will play at all. Sometimes the sounds even crash and loop, lightning especially I noticed.

My hardware is pretty high end, so it isnt processing. I have a 7.1 set up and that, for a modern game really should not be the reason. Especially as 7.1 headsets are fast growing in popularity.

Restarting does fix it, but when your server has 2 hour que times to get in to wvw, that isnt an answer IMO, and it is happening frequently.

I can promise you its not my auto attack in one fatal swoop. I am a grenade engineer, I have no auto attack. The skill lag is also felt by tens to hundreds of other players. Only occurs in mass battles, but it is game breaking and needs attention. But thanks for helping none the less. I have experienced your skill lock. but what I pointed out here was lag.

As for sound, it is occurring to me right now! WvW, EB, joined friendly zerg, met enemy zerg, sound crashed. It creeps back if I am solo, until a lot of players are on screen again. I have no lack of processing power, in fact neither my CPU or GPU are being phased at all!

And again, I must stress, that when I decide to restart for the sound issue, or as the other poster said, the game crashes (only happened once, but game does fail to close properly) I should be given a grace period to enter back in to wvw instead of being in que for 2 hours again.

All sound drivers and other drivers are up to date. All hardware trumps recommended and my connection is sound. Yet every now and then, sound will either totally vanish or loop. This is most annoying when inside WvW, as you then have 3 choices, ignore it which becomes increasingly frustrating, play music though sometimes I dont want to listen to music but simply play, or I need to exit the game to get the sound working again.

No matter what you add to entertain those waiting for WvW, those who waited 2 hours to get in, only to be hit with bugs and skill lag should have a grace period of at LEAST 5 minutes to get back in from your game crashing. OR add a refresh feature which totally reloads the game sound and graphics.

I have never had issues with the game up until the last patch whereas suddenly now I rarely go a session without sound totally bugging out. Not to mention, in big fights, yes big fights the servers struggle we know that, but the skill lag is nigh on impossible at times, yet certain national servers seem to gain an advantage being closer to the hosts, really sucks for a lot of us.

I have to report the same. Piken square, multiple maps and WVW. Usually between 20:00 and 22:00 it will start up. I have checked my connection and there is no reason my end for the interruption.

Others then report skill lag, rubber banding and some completely lose connection.

I dont want to be one of those moaners. But I cant see myself sinking more money in to gems until this lag issue is resolved. During the morning and most of the afternoon is fine. But the moment evening hits, terrible spikes start to happen.

I should also add I am playing out of the UK.

Warrior versus Thief in PVE

To dps in melee, and be of use to a group, as a warrior, you have to add some soldier gear, for example my axe/sheild build does decent dps, stacks vulns, and is mostly soldier gear with berserker accessories.

Now to tank a dungeon, I basically do hardly any damage as I am entirely soldier/cleric geared, I then shout/heal and tank. I massive sacrifice for the group. I have seen glass canon warriors in dungeons, even 4-5 signet ones, yes they do decent damage, but if an enemy even looks at them, they go down, which is no good to a group as they have to risk themselves getting them back up.

I feel for theives in pve, honestly, but there is no relation to the warrior. Other classes are strong in pve, not just warrior.

I disagree with targeted heals as everyone should be doing their part. Yes some classes dont have heals for group, but they have other things they can do. If its not healing its popping shouts, or group stealth, or feedback etc etc.

Shouldnt be on one person’s shoulders to keep a guy on a ram up, the entire group should help.

Sounds like a great support build! especially the mace shield. what would you use as your alternate weapon? bow/rifle/other?

Well depends where I am. In dungeons I will keep rifle in the alt slot as I may need to go ranged at some point. In wvw I tend to have Sword/warhorn for mobility/gap closing and the swiftness, then in a tower defense or seige switch it out for the bow.

In tower defense, at full adrenaline you do ok damage, but the key is soaking up damage so half the attackers are trying to get you down, and not the squishies with the good aoe. Also helps in open battle fights, you can push the line forward, often making players focus you while your buddies take them down, very enjoyable and makes doing damage overrated imo

Most of the time, if you are downed, in wvw at least, you are done. But I agree, the number 2 skill in downed state is very weak, vengeance is great, but its such a long way away, I have rare been able to ever get it off, and if I do, being a more tankish build, I am not likely to get a kill in that time.

If you compare it to other downed skills, the mesmers clone, ele walk, guardian knockback as examples, its very weak. Though engies, theives and rangers also have rather weak ones also.

I went the exact route you are talking about, from condition to axe sheild. Felt a bit epic! I used axe to stack vulns, went berserker in accessories and pow/tough/vit in armor with soldier rune. Then I saw a video of a warrior running in and out of zergs in wvw, pushing the battle lines forward, healing with shouts, gave it a whirl and loved it, low damage, but kitten you can take a lot.

So now due to power tough vit being quite versitile, and accessories being easy to move about, I switch back and forth, axe/sheild for farming/wvw crit fun and mace/sheild healing shouts for wvw/dungeons/farming if I can find a spot that has a ton of enemies in a tiny spot. All I have to do to change spec is retrait and move jewelry around, from berserker to cleric and so forth.

In case you are interested, I will post the traits I use here
Axe/sheild
20/25/25/0/0/ Take axe crit damage, 33% to add vuln on crit, rest you can mess about with.
Mace/sheild shouts heal.
10/0/20/30/10 Adrenaline damage gain, turtles defense, sheild master, banner buff (use war banner) shouts 20% shorter cd, shouts heal, gain adrenaline from shouts.

Hope this was of some help.

Am I the only person more irritated by ele’s instant mist walk back in to towers than anything else? Theives, yeah sure, irritating, stealth is a bit much, but you can deal with it in the right spec and weapon set. Warriors, well I am a warrior, havent used greatsword since the game started, didnt like it, too one trick pony, 100b being so immobile killed it for me, honestly, its rare to get someone in a full 100b attack. I have been sword/sword condition and now I alter between shouts healing tank mace/sheild and sword/horn or crit half tankish axe/sheild for stacking vuln. The two specs there have no issues with any class, necros maybe on the healing shouts build as poisons mess me up good, but otherwise, a good theif can keep away from me as my damage is low and keep coming back, its a long pointless fight though.

Overall, I think warriors and rangers are the two most balanced classes, even though I feel pets along with spirit weapons and illusions should have a range limit. Mesmers are fine, maybe a tad too many illusions, but thats their thing, ele’s are fine, apart from meteor hitting too high in my opinion, guardians are fine, they could maybe do with a bit more definition between dps and tank builds, engineers can be amazingly hard 1vs1, but otherwise, could do with a good looking at for a buff, theives, work on stealth a tad, maybe making the duration between stealths a tiny bit longer, so its an escape, not a method of fighting and necro is fine, in fact condition necros are awesome.

Oh, might as well add my other pet hate, please add diminishing returns on immob’s. thanks.

Make sure you leave the sword in untill the last moment, it adds bleeds and it can not be removed. It will add a total of 4 bleeds, but I recommend taking it out before then for the burst of that move.

I went for a more defensive spec, taking advantage of the toughness on condition armor. The theory being you are killing them slowly, you need to stay up longer also, the trait in defense tree “gain adrenaline when hit” is a must, as flurry is an incredible burst skill, and with that trait, you will be popping it often.

Another thing to point out, pve specific, you will get a ton of aggro. I am not sure if this is 100% true, but from what I have seen using arrah, I gain much more aggro from condition/defensive than full tankish healing shouts (mace/sheild) or half crit half tank axe/sheild.

Added bonus to this spec, rifle auto attack becomes worthy, longbow burst skill becomes insane and will make zergs move out of it in wvw.

Overall the build is good, but as a personal recommendation, I would say try out something like 20/25/25 strength/arms/defense. Gives you defense, crit, and all the bonuses to bleeds that are a must, especially 10% more damage to bleeding targets and 33% to add bleeds.

It is a very fun spec bleed, fun to see an enemy not realise why their health is draining away because they think you arent hitting hard.

The more tougher based theives though, always offer a cracking fight. There was a theif last week from Drakkar, had an amazing 1 on 1 with him, went on for ages, although he did have canons from a keep on his side, I wont by a very small margin, gave his corpse a /salute.

But , when I was condition build, I couldnt deal with them at all.

“Please tell me again how you do more damage with a non-crit axe and vitality/toughness….”

Ok first off, I do have crit, with traits, up to 50%. More with SoR or FGJ, all this with 1700 toughness, 26k health. I will conceed on mobs with lower health pools, I will lose out to GS serker burst, but more sustained levels of health? I refer you to the weapon guide in the sticky section.

On axes:
“Axe: The role of the axe is damage/area of effect and has the highest sustained damage available to the warrior.”

On greatsword:
" Greatsword has surprisingly low sustained damage with its chain attack but makes up for it with might stacks and vulnerabilities to set up the real reason for this weapon the deadly hundred blades."

Made up for with vulnerabilities, which I stack easily with cyclone axe, 33% to add, and sigil of fraility. Burst is burst, you put down high damage over short time, then in between, not much, I hit for 2k constantly, then at full adrenaline, hit evicserate.

Another part of this is my gear containing a lot of power, and axe feeds off power very well. Although I do crit a lot, I dont rely on it, and I constantly put in a high amount of damage even when not criting. All this, and not to mention a high survive rate. Earlier I cleared all 3 paths of coe with a group, some of which, even a guardian were talking about repairs at the end, of which I had none.

I do also feel that people can spec as they wish, I have no issues with greatsword warriors, maybe signet ones could hold a few more group friendly utilities, but otherwise, I am a firm beleiver in play as you wish. I run dungeons with a serker gs warrior all the time, he isnt down as much as I thought he would be, but often none the less.

Fact is, a lot of groups will be looking to a warrior in their last group slot a tank type character, when they see those 5 signets, you better be surviving or they will get kicking. If you offer a group for great justice, shake it off, a banner, on my mark or anything! While doing your damage, no one will complain.

Apart from a needed tweak to some of the lesser used weapon combo’s, adding pistols would be beneficial, very much so to say axe. Would not disagree with tourch, played condition build for months, very fun, but always felt we lacked in application of conditions sometimes.

My dream though, you know those irritating risen putrifiers? Yeah the ones that after shouting “DEATH….GOOD” they pull you across the map to them? Replace the axes current 3 skill with that please, call it Axe chain or Axe pull or something, but it makes a lot more sense to a set that has go gap closing, and its snare is a bit weak.

Is it just me or is the rifle crap for WvW?

in Warrior

Posted by: Bish.8627

Bish.8627

Only issue with rifle is like someone said, you have to get on the outter ledge to get shots off, risking getting pulled off. Not a problem with the right skills, but get it in the wrong position and you have to hope the enemy team didnt notice. Piercing rounds is a must with rifles as its single target, and against the bow you arent really doing a lot for your team taking down one person. Sure, you can pick on one guy on the ram for example, he backs off, gets replaced. On the bow though, you see someone casting aoe in to a group, pop your burst aoe in to that group, then arcing arrow, watch health of that group go bye bye, at least make them back off.

A little tip for defense with bow. Change traits around. Myself I am 20 str/25 arms/25 def/. First thing I change is gain adrenaline when hit from my 200 toughness when snared, then I take off the 5% of power as vit and add death from above.

So now, I jump on to the ram, knock away attackers, irritate them, this builds adrenaline fast, I pop my aoe, repeat. Dont however, jump on heads too far from the portal, and be sure you arent heavily targetted before going in. Especially effective defending near a cliff.

You can also just stay up top building adrenaline, which is fast if you counter in all the hits you take defending.

Glass cannon Warrriors with 5x signets in Dungeons...

Bish.8627

There is quite a lot of bias toward Beserker and Gs in this thread. Sadly, its the ones using it. I have cleared all dungeons, gone from Gs, to dual sword, to dual axe, sheild sword, sheild axe etc etc etc.

I have even tried signet built, just to see what the fuss was about. Then I ran a dungeon with a warrior is decent gear, he had axe/sheild, a lovely combo, all signets, he didnt go down every 5 seconds, nor did he offer the group anything but his damage.

I then tried shouts healing and banner builds, they werent worth the kittening either in damage or damage prevention. Beserker best gear for warriors? Delusional. I do more damage than any beserker gear warrior, due simply to one fact, I never go down with all my vitality/toughness. I dont need to rely on crit, axe does constant damage with fast auto attacks, couple it with 33% to apply vuln and sigil of fraility. Not to mention of course cyclone axe.

Then add in to the mix my Rune of the soldier set. 6 Set bonus, shouts remove conditions. Now pop shake it off, or FGJ, you are helping a group, tanking, interrupting, snaring, hitting high dps which is constant (as you dont need to back off or get downed) whilding adding vulns all around.

Beserker warriors, simply cant keep up, constantly have to avoid everything instead of soaking up some hits, popping frenzy, doing a few nice bursts, just untill the boss catches them with an aoe and they go down. I have no issue at all with a warrior going this route, I run dungeons with a serker all the time, but dont come here claiming “best gear for warrior” “bad warriors dont understand” when the issue is you dont understand other builds or better roles in dungeons than “LOL CHARGE IN HIT HIGH NUMBERS FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE I HAVE TO DODGE AND SIT BACK LOSSING DPS TIME” it will give new warriors a bad impression, when they should find their own path, decide what they think is their best input to a group, and then groups can drop them when they go glass canon.

Oh god do I have to? Tier Engineer (takes a ton of damage, far too many cc (immobilize should diminish) though this was one very good engie I am basing the entire prof on), Mesmer (I actually dont find them hard at all, just here for pure annoyance levels).

I do wish there was a trait, or trait point cap where we gain a flat % to block attacks. Or that defense/toughness did so. Warrior tanking when out of end feeling a bit, self harming. No protection, not much regen. Sure you can go hammer and apply weakness, useless on bosses. Sure you can dodge, wear even signet of stamina, you are only then gaining a 3rd roll slightly faster.

In my opinion, dropping a flat % block rate of warriors would bring them up the tanking scales majorly.

What I was awarded with was a decent damage tank, that cannot stay on a boss as sustained as a guardian, but can take adds, kite, take bosses for quite a while, while removing conditions and fiving might constantly. Quite usefull, I just dont look forward to being the main in a dungeon.

Those who call out that warrior is terrible, should either consider another class, or another spec/weapon. It was horrible, i utterly demolished him. I even told him to stop using the longbow because it just wasn’t any good. After the third time of me almost perfecting him he quit the match. (hopefully to not use the longbow anymore).

Low damage, no real decent cc, slow attacks, easily dodgeable aoes, terrible range, no defensive abilities, no mobility abilities…..just so so bad.

Yeah 1vs1 it is not great, sat on a tower wall in wvw or with a large group of mobs in pve, its great. Especially if condition specced.

New Players: Warrior Purpose.

in Warrior

Bish.8627

Here is my two cents. Warrior is viable at everything, except (so far in my experience, could change) main tanking higher end dungeons without a ton of support. Otherswise, being a support tank, or nearly main tank WITH a guardian, is incredible, the group will thank you for it and dungeons will go smooth. I have a friend guardian, we run dungeons together a lot, know each others play style, we grind together often grabbing all the mobs in the area and taking them down, we wvw together, often prevailing against greater numbers.

So lets go a little deeper in to how I have made my warrior not only viable, but strong in all circumstances.

Condition spec, dual swords. I ran this for months, built on condition, very defensive, made me tough to bring down, and while a mob or player tried so, they had around 2000 dps ticking away, not to mention the damage caused by actually hitting them. Condition makes seige aoe with longbow pretty insane. Watching fire tick around 700, crit and cause bleeds, entire groups moving out of your aoe alone. It means if you couple with an ele, ranger, necro, you can very much add a strong influence.

I admit, condition is slow for grinding/questing, but there is 0 downtime after killing 4-5 mobs solo.

Now I run axe and sheild. You say we cant wvw roam? That 12k evicerates are not possible? Well I am certain they are as I am more tank built and I have seen up to 11k on a low clothie. More my level and armour? 8-9k maybe, not to mention the fast auto attacks, cyclone axe adding vuln, ranged snare, sheild bash and 3 seconds of blocking (stand in the middle of sm while a zerg attacks with 2 guardians, trait reflect missle, walk out to zerg, /laugh, wait to get shot, block and watch numbers, guardians use wall of reflect, zerg steps back, hilarious every time). As for wvw roaming, I probably shouldnt admit this, but myself and a mesmer camped an enemy teams spawn yesterday for quite some time. We sat there, 3 come out and go down, 4, 6 and only when a zerg (we legged it) came did we move. Later me, the mesmer and a low level theif were beaten by 10. Rifle is strong in this spec also, 10k kills shots are lovely, volley can be insane, longbow is alright.

As for dungeons and grinding mobs? Again great, dungeons I can offtank, semi main tank as 20/25/25. Grinding mobs is east, gain adrenaline when hit and 50% crit against stunned enemies means you tear through mobs, can even do so puling a bunch at a time.

So here is my point. Those that say not viable are doing it wrong. Yes ok I may be making myself sound like some amazing player, I am good, not amazing, I have played mmos a long time and always played heavy armor melee. The other problem I see is a lot of warriors dont experiment, the one thing this game does well is let you custom your char to how you play. That for me is a decent level of crit and burst, but mostly defensive, I can run in a zerg, annoy, maybe drop 1, then run away, I dont have to stay ranged (although chances are I wont get as many repair bills getting caught out). Warriors should be dropping the greatsword now and then, picking up other weapons, going with other stats, asking other warriors about their traits, experimenting, finding what makes THEM viable, not the warrior.

I would also like them to fix obstruction from the top of tower walls. You can see an enemy as clear as day, your character is more than in LOS with them, you shoot, it hits the wall, wastes cd/adrenaline. If you dont have gain adrenaline when hit traited (I normally switch to death from above for annoyance purposes in seige) it can take a while to get it back up.

Warriors should carry all weapons

in Warrior

Posted by: Bish.8627

Bish.8627

I do kind of agree, not fully, I guess here is my experience currently.

I am main traited 20/25/25 Axe and sheild. Off weapon is mostly rifle but I do also switch that out to warhorn if I know range wont be needed in a dungeon or traveling wvw. I will switch to an axe offhand if I am in an event where a ton of mobs spawn or again a dungeon where I wont be taking on too much damage.

Also I have traited 33% chance on crit to cause vuln, with superior sigil of fraility on all weapons (except offhands of course) and with cyclone axe I normally keep over 14 vulns up on bosses. So even though mace has benefits, I dont see a full need to switch, except maybe trash in dungeons.

The thing I do fully agree with is warriors always having a ranged option to hand.

how viable is main hand Axe in PVE

in Warrior

Posted by: Bish.8627

Bish.8627

I am a big fan of axes now, never liked them leveling, either went Gs or dual swords for condition damage. Since 80 I have played condition damage with a ton of toughness and some vitality. Recently I wanted a change, more tankish for dungeons, so I tried axe in my main hand with a sheild while still in my condition damage gear and spec. Needless to say I soon changed all my gear to power/tough/vit and accessories to add some crit.

The damage I output while still being able to main tank any exporable (within the good group I run with at least) is great. Though take nothing away from mace, it also has its place. So in my opinion, it is extremely viable.

Condition damage build in Dungeons?

in Warrior

Posted by: Bish.8627

Bish.8627

Here is my advice on condition build. Dont go full on condition, go semi tank condition. Everything from killing mobs to bosses to wvw will be about stacking bleed and dragging the enemy health down. To do that, yes you need condition damage, also crit (trait 33% to apply bleed on crit and sigil of earth 66% chance of the same), power because you do still have to hit the target. But, toughness and vitality too.

I recommend the karma gear, has toughness and precision, mix with some vitality (also full rune soldier, 6 set bonus remove conditions on shout makes it I think the best warrior rune and its all vit/tough) and power gear and add some crit here and there in accessories. I have near 1600 toughness, 26k health, 33% crit and my bleeds tick over 100. With the health pool and toughness, it means I often tank mobs, in the defense tree I have (gain adrenaline when hit) which means I pop a full flurry very often, its great damage, and ok survivability.

As for the stack limit, honestly, it will rarely matter, with above spec, you will often have the highest bleeds apart from necros, and you only really need 10+ to see good damage. Remember, a bleed ticking for 100, 10 stacks, thats 1000 damage every second, couple that with decent power in strikes, which will crit often with shouts, good damage.

Now the hidden gem of this build especially in wvw is your ranged damage. Just go get full adrenaline and use the bow skill, add the crit and a sigil of earth, and watch the numbers fly about. And the point of using a rifle as condition? Yes only the auto attack adds bleeds if you dont crit, but thats what you are using the majority of the time, not to mention you are stacking 10-15 bleeds auto attacking alone.

Warriors going melee in dungeons require a lot of attention. Keeping your skills popping, keeping on the mob and watching your health. We have a high health pool, but even with a ton of toughness it can vanish fast and we have to take evassive action. I would take a guess that some warriors either havent learned to cope with the damage or they just simply cant and go ranged.

Some encounters I will just stay ranged as I have a balanced spec with high health, mobs tend to like me, or just simply because the encounter is better ranged, like Lupricus. But mostly, I go headfirst in and stack some bleeds like a good melee should.

Is it just me or are Survivability warriors nothing compared to guardians?

Apart from there being no real true tanks in this game, or at least thats how it was intended, I see Warrior as an offtank dpser more than a full on tank. Dont get me wrong I have and still get most aggro due to the toughness on my condition gear, and balancing that with some vitality also means I am a magnet to mobs, but really, with a guardian normally doing dunegons with me, the burden is shared.

He can take so much more than I can, but as bleed spec dual swords, I dish out a ton more damage. Yes he can burst more with his hammer, but my damage is up 100% of the time unless the mob can clear conditions.

If he takes a big hit, rolls out, the mob turns on me, I can handle it, not as long, but I can handle it while the guardian re-groups. Support tank is far more suited to warriors, I would say making a balanced spec, 20/25/25 condition/toughness/vit/power/crit, my priorities. But you could also make a balanced axe semi tank, or mace. You dont have to be 25-30 points in both defence and tactics to tank.

Dual Swords/Rifle Cond. Build?

I have run condition build in wvw for a while now its great. But, dont go all out condition. I run 20/25/25 and some of my equipment has a more defensive aim to it. For example, the karma temple sets, condtion damage parts have toughness, then I take 2 of the 6 as pow/vit/tough. Also one part invaders in my accesories. Basically then, my warrior has (totally unbuffed with no orbs) 26,400k health roughly, 1700 toughness, 32% crit, and bleeds that tick for 104, 113 with sigil of rage up.

I am able to step in to a large group, slap some bleeds on a few guys while I focuss one with Flurry, sword leap back out, recover, and repeat. Not to mention, rifle is amazing on this build, and the longbow aoe, well that is just insane with condition stats.

As for sigils. I went soldier rune for the added health and toughness, not to mention the 6 set bonus of shouts removing conditions. This means for great justice which I pop constantly takes of a condition, not only that, but shake it off, wont only break stuns, but remove two conditions too. Add those to mending, and you can basically clean yourself off in seconds. The added condition removal also means you are more mobile with savage leap and bulls charge closing gaps.

As for sigils. main hand earth for the bleed procs, you will have over 50% crit most of the time, so its great, then force or acuracy on off. Not decided on offhand yet. Bow and rifle both also earth. Especially bow, the aoe ticks can crit, if they do, they can add a bleed, that just tops of the damage in that aoe nicely.

I do agree that if I enter wvw, see a back and forth battle (normall the southern bridges or SM) I leave for another map. The xp gain is ok, but really here isnt much reward unless you get some lucky loot.

Soloing Farming Build Advice?

I use a condition build, have had no issues, in fact its so good I cant go back to any other weapons then sword/sword/sheild.

I admit, it takes a little longer to take down a mob than a greatsword warrior would. A friend of mine who has a theif showed me how quick he takes down a mob also, then I pointed out his health was at 50%. With my build 20/25/25 and all the toughness on condition damage gear, with added power gear and precision here and there. Oh also added vitality with soldier rune and 2 parts temple power/tough/vit. I rarely go down past 90% on an average mob in cursed shore. Noticing this, I farm 3-4 mobs at a time. It is also quite possible, though maybe not in cursed shore, to solo champions. Kite and bleed is very strong.

Please review Meteor, Cluster bombs, theives in general, mesmers spawning mobs on tower walls, rangers bursting, guardians surviving……

Every class has its dark horse, I dont even use greatswords, think they are far too situational and its rare you get someone still for HB.

I swear I saw Signet of Rage granting adrenaline passive...

You guys didnt click that when its passive you have it coming off you? But when its popped or on cd you dont?

None the less, I too noticed its adrenaline grant yesterday, normally in a fight its popped or on cd, but yesterday, the enemy on the tower were being tight with showing their faces or giving damage (defense trait gain adrenaline on hit) so with the longbow, I had to stand there letting the signet do its works.

18.7k Kill Shot - At what cost?

in Warrior

Bish.8627

Well I have a condition damage build. It does have some power, and 20 points in str. I have hit 8k killshots. Here is the cost for that. Signet of rage popped, for great justice popped, the 4 skill vuln applied and then the guy still stood there still and in range not noticing me casting for a long time. Bad luck for him really. The cost in armor to do that much, I am certain its a glass cannon all crit/crit damage. These warriors cant really take much damage, but output crazy numbers.

As with hundred blades, and in my sword spec Flurry, the key to warriors is not sitting still in front of them, you get knocked down, or immobilized, break it, roll. I think priority one for any player is a stun break, not just for warriors either.

I am from Underworld, we came up against them last week. During peak hours they were pretty good, good tactics, but if we had a leader we could hold our corner. Then comes the night. Now one strength underworld has had in previous weeks is our numbers at night. We have been against German and other international servers and not had a problem at night. Then comes Arborstone. Huge numbers as if at a peak hour, against our small groups, no contest really. Although I did take pleasure in 3 of us stopping an attack at Ascension from 20 of them.

Now we cant blaim them, obviously either they DO have a lot of Canadians, and wvw is designed to allow players to experience everything at the play time they choose. Not to mention they are only playing to their strength as Underworld does at night. But where does the line get drawn between fair and unfair? Obviously they wish to speak French, so they choose a French server. Just as most of us pick English speaking servers. Should there be a French speaking Canadian server implemented purely due to wvw? Bit of a far reach. Should night capping points be reduced? So when I get a sleepless night, its pointless for me to play?

Tough debate really. Personally, I would wish continents be kept seperate, but that may be a big cost for Anet.

Why do warriors suck so much?

I logged in purely to give my opinion on warriors, based on wvw/pve. I run a bleed spec 20/25/25. With the toughness on karma condition damage gear, and adding some vitality where I can including rune of the soldier, I can take quite some killing. Also 2 parts of my gear are power/toughness/vitality. Now, with the condition damage stacked, I may not burst like a theif, but baring in mind the damage I can take, once my bleeds are stacked, and the amount of crits I do with two swords, the damage rolls. If I open with a flurry, that person goes down unless they are a guardian.

Also with the rune 6 set bonus, shouts remove conditions. So Shake it of and For great justice are constantly taking off conditions, in the first is a great stun breaker. Add in bulls charge and savage leap and I constantly close gaps and pester enemies. Not to mention the damage I do with a longbow burst skill. I can honestly say I have seen a zerg move out of a 3 bar burst with the longbow.

On to pve. I have run all but one wing of arrah exp. I was considered the most tankish of the group, even though I am by far not a tank spec per say. But none the less, with no group healing, or very little, I stayed up quite a lot. Another key factor to this is switching to rifle, with bleeds ticking so high you can damage, and kite amazingly. One boss, the gorilla, I kited all the adds while the group kills the boss, same with the final boss where you have to cap points.

All in all I have played a few classes, some that do great burst, some that have superb utility. But none that I can be so versitile in any given situation and not change spec or gear. Warrior really is the man/woman for any job, it just so happens a ton of warriors seem to use limited specs where either they do a ton of burst but go down like a sack of number 2, or can tank a zerg but hit with cotton gloves. The few I have seen, fought, and respected, had a balance.

I have a balanced build between bleeds and toughness. I admit I have nothing in tactics, but I survive well and still blast off shake it off and fgj as often as needed. I also soak a ton of damage and kite mobs while bleeding them down pretty well. Still, you guys make me feel bad with your healing shouts!
