go to different areas and do hearts, events, point of interests, vistas and skill challanges.
there is a 3rd option.
Do world boss events. your guaranteed to get 1 rare pr event in a daily chest pr day pr account. thats not counting what you can get in the large chest you get after the boss.
Put the weapons you get from the events in the forge, sell the exotics you get and save up money for the precursor.
use a world boss event timer to see when the events is up.
with the armor pieces you either sell or salvage ( dont use them in the forge, not worth it ). you can sell the ectos and runes you salvage for more money or use yourself.
this way you dont have to spend of your saved up money to make attempts in the mystic forge. May not give you many attempts fasts but it adds up.
the chance of getting precursor in the mystic forge by using exotics is higher than using rares. However RNG is RNG. you may get a precursor on your 5th attempt or you may spend 1000 gold worth of items before you get one.
the problem when using exotics to forge a precursor is that the cost for each attempt is a lot higher than rares. you may spend around 1g in rares pr attempt, while an exotic attempt may cost 5-6g+. Which means you get a lot more chances when using rares.
Also when using rares you also get exotics back which can help recover some losses when using hte forge. While with exotics your likely to get an exotic back worth max 1-2g in return.
have you considered saving money to buy the precursor of the trading post?? its the safest way to get one.
^^I have done the same thing. though I have 9 character slots and 7 of them is level 80.
use the character slots you have. create characters with different race and profession. play them to level 10-20 or something and see if you like them.
also struggling to level up characters is part of the fun. just having them at lvl 80 isnt always all that great, especially if you try to level them as fast as possible.
the trading post take a listing fee but do not include the money paid as listing fee in the projected profits.
on seafarers rest you cant event get people to do grenth anymore because everyone know that it will fail anyway. you have max 1-5 ppl doing the chain and asking ppl for help but receive 0 help.
grenth has become a waste of time and effort due to all the issues mentioned in the posts above. so much waste that people dont bother anymore.
nvm. dont completely remember the reasons for why they make all items you “upgrade” ( add runes too ) becomes soulbound.

I have had that crash several times as well. your not the only one
best to have 4 characters with 2 crafting professions each. that way you wount lose money if you have to switch. you never know which one you may need.
if you want to craft yo should find a crafting guide on the internet.
However, I recommend you not to do crafting as a beginner. the items you craft can be bought from the trading post a lot cheaper than the value of the materials.
crafting in this game have 2 purposes. to level up quickly ( but also cost a lot of money ) and to make legendary weapons.
also, if you want people to help, then in game map chat is the way to go.
if the guild bounty timer runs out, then you failed the guild bounty. You get no reward in merits. even if the target has more time left before he escapes.
if you were able to kill 1 out of 2 (or more) targets before the timer runs out, then the people who attacked the target that was killed will get the personal rewards ( 2 rares, 50 silver and 2 commedations )
we had a guild lottery in our guild a while back and it worked great.
What we did was find a decent random number generator on the internet.
each person sent 1g to a certain trusted individual in the guild, who then assigned a number to each person in the order they sent the mail with the sign up fee ( 1g).
Then the trusted person used the random number generator live (streamed the whole thing) so that all members who wanted could see for themselves. streaming was used to create more trust between all who participated that the winner were selected by random.
I doubt something like this is flagged for gold selling or whatever. even if that were to happen, then having to pay the lottery sign up fee by in game mail should make a paper trail to clear you from being flagged for gold selling.

it sounds like a hassle. Since its the bank that stop the transaction you should maybe consider changing bank ?
i paid 16g for abyss dye, and I doubt ill buy a dye for more than that ever again.
run dungeons. lots of dungeons. you get 177k xp pr run. If you run the quickest dungeon paths you can get quite a lot.
you can always run fractals as you said and then buy skill points. However, it can be rather slow.
new characters and/or leveling crafting skills is also a quick way.
the guild member will have 0 guild bonuses, will not see guild missions and will not receive rewards for guild missions.
yes.
its possible and it would be too much trouble to fake a video like that just to brag.
the account name on the client is your email. along with the email you need the password.
they cant give you what you already know and have.
Does putting a sigil on an axe (I never equipped it mind you) make the axe soulbound or something?
If the item did not have any upgrade ( sigil, runes in armor), then yes, giving them a sigil/rune makes them soulbound.
in this game items with sigils/runes is not always worth more. most of the times the item and the sigil/rune is worth more alone than combined. one of the reasons is because you cant combine or add new sigil/runes to items without making them soulbound.
if your going for exotics bought with tokens you dont do farm runs. you use alts with sufficient times in between so you dont get hit by the diminishing return. using rares you buy with token for forge and/or salvage works just fine with farm runs.
the text is one big blob, and just looking at that blob I dont feel like reading it. I recommend you to add some spaces. maybe use enter once in a while.
yes. the amount of people doing AC is extremly reduced after the new ac came out.
These days you hardly find people outside the dungeon asking for a party, while before the change you could find huge amounts of people.
sure, its not hard to get a group for ac right now. However, you have to either do it with your guild or use gw2lfg. even here there isnt that many asking for AC, but enough to get a group started in 5-10 min tops.
not to mention most of those who want to do the dungeon only do path 1. path 3 is favored by more experienced players and few stick around for path 2.
Unless your a hardcore farmer whos after efficiency, then there isnt much difference between a 4w1m group and a random profession group. in this case it mostly comes down to experience.
I love tier 3 armor for norn females. its worth the cost.
Also Arah heavy armor for females look awesome.
The shortcuts is not intended. The things that make up the shortcuts is there for decorative purpose, not for players to cut the difficulty and time of the jumping puzzle by half. thats why they got removed.
The chest reward at the end of the jumping puzzles is the reward for going trough the whole thing.
Personally I dont mind shortcuts, especially when it comes to the EB jumping puzzle.
where did you get the 16th from ??
In the patch notes it clearly says from 30th to 12th of May, then later patch notes states that it will be extended to the 14th.
guild: winters talon
Server: seafarers rest.
Guild missions bugged.
tried first a guild bounty and failed. tried a second bounty, but were unable to start the fight with the npc’s. even when other guilds started the fight with the npc and we hit it, we didnt get it complete.
then tried guild trek. many of the gold circles on the locations dont show up to any of us – thus unable to complete.
please fix asap. we need merits.
I suggest you read a guide for the crafting skill your leveling up. to avoid further mistakes and wasting materials.
once you get to 375 you need to buy recipes from the npc crafting master of the skill your leveling up. once you make a few items with those recipes you will get 400 in no time.
level 400 recipes is also bought from the npc. all cost karma.
Guild panel empty, no members, no influence, no upgrades, all tabs empty, alone in guild with no leader icon. The guild emblem looks right. Also the Guild tag doesn’t show up on character select screen, it’s empty []
Got the same problem with my guild.
Seafarers rest
Guild name: Winter’s Talon [WT]
lots more with same problem here:

balthazar used to be the only way of obtaining the obsidian shard, but thats not been the case since before fractals.
you have:
-balthazar
-fractals
-laurels
- orrian karma boxes (see any karma vendor in orr) (high chance to get them from these boxes)
- super adventure box
@OP, if they were to announce anything close to what you want, then the price on the precursors will double in a matter hours, probably even less.
the solution is to use transmutation stones. yes, it might cost extra but if its a good look on your character its worth it.
with a transmutation stone you can get any look you want from everything you have crafted on to your lvl 80 gear. quick and easy is it too, just cost a small amount if you have to buy the transmutation stones.
your problem is that even while knowing the facts for a chance of a weapon is slim to non you still do it. you gambled and lost. get over it or dont do it in the first place.
its the same thing over and over. each time they add new stuff to the black lion chests people who buy lots of keys and get nothing starts to complain….
in most cases of corrupted weapons you can save many golds by crafting it yourself. and even more gold by buying corrupted lodestones on custom buy order. might take a little while, but you can save a lot of money.
and yes, only “of rage” works, so be careful on which weapon you buy.
apparently because no one have an answer to give at the moment. try look around on gw2 wiki and see if you can find anything there. or on duly.net
When you meet people who hate swamp fractal to the point of leaving when they see it, is a solid proof that they are noobs. id guess its mostly seen on the lower level of fractals where people have had less practice in fractals. coordinating is the most important factor in this fractal. count down from 3 when all is ready, and take orb on 0 is the wasy way to do it.
if you happen to encounter people who leave by seeing swamp, then I hope its not the party leader. if party leader dont leave yo should easily get in a replacement from guild or gw2lfg.com.
as stated in earlier posts, practicing alone in this fractal is a quick and easy way to improve yourself. swamp is one of the quckest and easiest fractals and is almost a must have on lvl 20+ as first fractal with ascalon and water.
I already have sunrise and im in the process of making twilight.
Right now all I need to finish twilight is 100 icy runestones and precursor.
main problem is getting Dusk since the mystic forge is mostly a bad idea.
I made sunrise because I liked it better than twilight. tho im also now in hte process of making twilight so in the future I can make eternity.
I tried path 1 twice with lvl 80 pugs the other day. 2 of them being elementalists. the outcome was no matter what we couldnt finish the burrows in path 1. which usually have been easy with 1 elementalist in the group before the update.
the players in the group wasnt really good, I admit that, however, there is way too many knock downs compared to the stability and stun breakers everyone have.
and whats up with the kitten mobs that focus on the npcs the moment they spawn from the burrow and dont want to aggro on anything else despite being hit and nearly killed ????++
to do path 1 you need a regular group. pugs wount do, especially now that there is few people left to do the dungeon and less skilled.
path 2 is fubar and path 3 is the only good and quick path to do nowdays. the new mechanics of the boss isnt so bad. if the npc with the bubble worked properly the path would be great.
spider queen is a problem with all the heavy hitting aoe attacks if you have low lvl characters in the party. they die quickly and you cant even heal them inside hte aoe area without dying yourself. 2 people wasnt enough to heal a lvl 41 guardian, we were only able to keep him alive in downed state while losing our own hp. except from that the new spider queen isnt so much more difficult than hte old one.
(edited by Black Wolf.7348)
^^as said above me. the chest is crap and not worth the time and effort. and it took people way to long to notice that fact.
most of the people who used to do AC before the update is now skipping the whole dungeon. says a lot about the update.
its a tricky jump, but after you have done it a few times its not that hard. swiftness helps
I have tried a little bit of throwing major sigil and runes into the forge. From personal experience I feel that the chance for upgrading sigils and runes is less than the chance of upgrading 4 rares to exotic. However, I could be having bad luck with hte mystic forge, just like you.
25g wasted in the forge is the same as a drop of water in the ocean. there is people who have wasted 100s if not a 1000 gold on the mystic forge in the hope of a precursor without getting any.
there is times where you get few exotics and other times were you get a lot and even a precursor. Like you said its rng. venting your frustration in a thread like this is pointless. no one seeing this thread will give a kitten because the amounts of gold or attempts isnt event large.
Charged lodestones have lots of recipes for weapons that is in high demand because of the good looking skins. the awesomeness of all the skins made with charged lodestones is many more than any other recipe using other types of lodestones. that is what increase the price and demand for the charged lodestones compared to all the other lodestones.
You can farm charged lodestones and you will get ca 1 pr hours in average with 100-160 magic find, but sometimes more and other times less. lodestone drop rate is horrible for all lodestones.
However, as stated above me here the charged lodestones used to be at an average price of 4g each and up to 4.3g each. this was until the path in the end of january. In the january patch they added orrian boxes and with that the price droped.
along in the update with new and improved chests all over you can now get charged cores and lodestones from the chain event on themple of zephyr (dwayna event chain ) in malchors leap.
at least right now you have more options to gather charged lodestones than before and its cheaper too now. still expensive for 100 but cheaper than before.
ac is still possible with lower than 80 char, but it help to have done it a decent amount of times first on a lvl 80 character. The real difficult part would be to find a decent party that would allow a person/character lower than 80 in their party.
restarting hte game usually works
OP, you want people to play hte way you want. why cant each person decide for themselves how they want to play a dungeon and then play with people who think hte same. people who want speed can skip content and people like you can kill everything. skipping is one way of playing a dungeon and totally legit.
btw OP, do you kill every mob you see in the rest of the pve world ??? because if you dont which I believe is hte case, means that you yourself is skipping. maybe you should look into that and see if its worth your time and effort.
