My friend is unable to access his account since today (was fine yesterday) he cannot authenticate his account because he’s not receiving the email for it anymore, potentially got his email hacked or something but his gw2 account information did not get changed and it seems like the possible hacker cannot access the game account. My friend said he sent a support ticket about 10 hours ago and still no response from the support team. He also cannot login on the gw2 website with his game account because of the authentication issue. If anyone has got a similar issue please share information on what happened, how you got it fixed and what not etc.
He got 15k achievement points, has 5 legendaries, is a top ranked pvp player and has been playing actively since launch and we really need him to have his account back for the Tournament of Legends and to practise.
He doesn´t have the serial code but all the other information needed.

There is nothing wrong with turret engis. They are annoying for unexperienced players, that´s all.
No high level team would ever use such a passive build. I remember an esl weely final where a team tried it versus us with 5 turret engis and they couldn´t do anything.
I don’t think anyone suggested this for on-crit runes?
He suggested it for incendiary powder which is on crit, too.

In my opinion, the problem is that runes now allow for crazy might stacks and sigils. Without sigils and might stacking, a 2/0/0/6/6 thief is just annoying because they won’t deal much damage. The s/d meta build takes advantage of the fact that you can now trait defensively while relying on sigil procs + might to make up for the lack of damage. As long as these runes and sigils exist, there is no point thinking about individual skill balance.
Very right, most meta builds are build areound sigils or runes and those classes who don´t synergize with runes/sigils struggle.
We won´t see any proper balancing as long as runes and sigils define builds. They must be towned down to a state where you can exchange them at will without effecting your viability.
The reason why people complain about thieves is their high mobility paired with high damage and high surviveability while they got some broken mechanics like steal which works without line of sight and rips stability before it interrupts, so there is no counterplay to it and you can´t cover your heal or any important spell. Another broken mechanic is perma vigor + feline grace which allows them to evade permanently. All classes except thieves have cooldowns on their abilities, so you just gonna waste too much stuff if you try to hit a thief.
Atm thieves are the reason why there is no other zerker class set in the meta game, they are just faster so you cant run from them and they get away on will so they survive better and get the most decaps while still doing crazy damage, which comes from air and fire sigil. Those sigils allow thief to spec defensively and still do an absurd amount of damage each time he hits you after dodging around waiting for sigils to recharge.

I just wanted to point out how anet doesn´t stick to what they say. I even put a laugh behind it, but you don´t seem to get irony. First they find an excuse to not invite you and kitten you over and now by using this void voting system they kitten over all other players.
And with your teams behaviour you still wonder where all those haters come from?
Power ranger probably won´t have the damage or sustainhealing to be viable (on eu) unless you go zerker and actually deal heavy damage, but then thieves take you out of the game as they do with all other zerker classes.
I wonder why Helseth wasn´t allowed to go to pax when he said he´d bring a firearm, but now firearms are ok in germany haha.
And I´m pretty sure anet is hiding voting results cause they are void, too.

Quite sad other eu teams aren´t represented. That´s not really the purpose of an all star tournament.
Also 50% of the votes come from different region, so they don´t know the other players, while this gamescom tournament would be a good platform to get to learn more good palyers / teams.
Furthermore this voting was easily abused by proxy/ip changing + deleting cookies which is done in a few seconds. Whoever got the incentive/time/criminal energy to cheat on it got an easy time doing so.
Still hope it will be entertaining tho

Procs are not much different from ai, it´s passive damage AND unavoidable. I don´t get why people trash ai so much when you can actually kill it / avoid it.
S/d thief is fine, they just have few good skills.
flanking strike, feline grace, cloak and dagger, withdraw, shadow refuge, signet of agility, mug, vigorous recovery, kleptomaniac, preparedness, bountiful theft, infiltrator’s arrow…

No… People have been taking bunker teams since launch, long before the sigil changes.
S/d damage isn’t too high compared to other zerk specs. It’s their damage:defense ratio that’s off. Their extreme mobility and high evade time is too much. Removing air/fire to nerf sd is silly because it effects every class.
And it should affect every class, so we can finally have builds working on their own without relying on sigils.
A nerf to sigils would maybe force thieves into executioner so they must drop surviveability.
Thieves are the reason we don´t see any other zerker builds and they shut down diversity pretty hard. Other zerker classes are just less mobile, do less damage and got less surviveability (not tankability)
Rangers getting hit harder than eles actually.
finally all builds that can´t run 25 might or air / fore are dead except engi maybe.

You seem to have no clue about meta builds. Most team q builds work around might stacking/air fire procs, why don´t you start nerfing this first or atleast wait until after the next big tournament so we don´t have to learn a whole new class and adjust the lineup and strategy?

Balance means something is EQUALLY strong. It doesn´t mean that there aren´t op synergies.
Even if AI is not what people want to see it keeps things balanced. Yet the main goal should be to allow viable builds that don´t rely on runes/sigils whihch needs major nerf to all sigils.
If an ai pet is so integral to your survival then it must be op, otherwise your saying 1 ai pet carryies you and you cant survive with out it? either way well done anet for nerfing more ai

Celestial staff doesnt fill the role of that clerics staff exactly.. besides cant you always pick up the glyph of elem pets? just a thought! i dont recommend it or anything but if the idea is having more reliable outside source of damage then isnt this a logical next step before abandoning the build completely ?
Cleric staff ele cant survive 1v1 because enemies go full ham on you while overextending like mad since they don´t need to go defensive. Only way to make it 1st tier again would be a buff to air 2 and fix air 3 and add some single target damage to autoattacks to deal counterpressure otherwise it´s dead if you want to be competitive.
tried some 25 might stack build with similar surviveability but it just doesnt do damage, the autoattacks dont hit any moving target that is more than 6-7 meters away.

how can you time lightning surge when it casts 1,5 seconds? you simply can´t because it´s bad design, random blinds shouldn´t be in the game either.

somewhat situational means more like useless during the fight because they don´t land or you die before it goes off.

As a high level tPvP player I have to say that those skills are designed very poorly.
I´m playing staff ele since the last major balance patch and it works pretty well, but those 2 skills are just not fun to use/clunky/frustrating.
Gust misses its target from 3 meter range if both players are moving with swiftnes, a waste of a 30 second cooldown. It´s extremely frustrating how frequently this happens.
Lightning surge is a 1,5 sec cast for a blind. Blinds are intended to be used reactively to mitigate damage. How on earth are 1,5sec casttime helping to mitigate damage. You are tanking damage for 1.5 seconds and you can´t even choose what skill to blind. Lightning surge must be reactive, the damage can be reduced then.
Both changes wouldn´t hurt pve/wvw and the fact that ele is in a good state doesn´t mean you can´t fix this class.

I also want to correct a few things and make sure people don´t get confused by the wrong team name which is shown on the survey. My team is not Made in Meta.
So my name is Tim aka Zapdos, I am 24 years old german student studying my bachelor’s degree in Bioscience & Health. As I am a versatile player I am able to play Ele/Warrior/Necro on the highest skill level. Currently my staff Elementalist build has shaped the EU meta and I am one of the only players who has mastered how to defend backpoint pefectly while still being in team fights. I am the founder of Team Cheese Mode, a team which dominated the EU leaderboards for 8 months and today I still hold the #1 position on the EU leaderboards. If I receive your vote I can promise a solid backpoint which will greatly help the Europian team and ensure the win for Europe.

Currently the worst players earn the same rewards outside of community events, that´s not how you get a competition started.
this could be easily abused by choosing playtimes where it´s not possible to face teams which match your rating. The solution must work around a leaderboard, cause this way you won´t get too much rating/reward for beating bad teams.

The team q rewards are really bad compared to solo q / hotjoin.
Many people are frustrated by solo q since you play with a luck based lineup without communication, but forming a 5 man group is not the easiest and therefore it must be rewardet properly.
The current competition is only exsistant during tournaments. With better rewards more players would be encouraged to play team q to reach a level that is getting rewardet properly.
Better rewards for leaderboards would also solve some 4v5 issues of solo q if people would actually take it more serious and try to keep their rank.
the amount of 4v5s is stupid.
If you would reward players for their rank they maybe would take this game mode more serious in order to stay on their reward level
While sitting in the mists you should get 10 whispers from gold sellers per hour.
the amount of uneven matchups makes solo q not much better than hot join.
I´m way too often paired with clueless players and 4v5 happens too much also.
The solution would be to make rewards based on leaderboard, so people would actually give their best to win in order to stay on their reward level.
On the other hand the leaderboard doesn´t represent the current skill level of anyone accurately because your mates either carry you or drag you down, unfortunately for the top palyers you can only get dragged down by your mates.

It´s pretty much the same for all zerker builds vs thieves, but other classes don´t rely on zerker amulet like mesmer.
Ai is not good for the game, but the fact that it keeps supportive classes viable is good. Actually they give us build diversity, so we see more than might stacking.
Where is the diversity when these runes are one of the best possibilities as thief, condi engi, turret engi, ranger dps/bunker, hambow, condi war, mesmer shatter, mesmer pu ?

Leeto, then make sure to rotate properly so no squishy class is forced on point. And it´s easier to hold a node vs my build than any warrior/engi. I wouldn´t use pirate if i had access to perma 25 might or perma burn. To survive strength runes, unavoidable air sigils etc i have to apply counterpressure which is not easy to do in a duel if all your single target abilities are designed that poorly, so I´m using pirate to compensate for my builds weaknes and the bad design of air2 and autoattacks.
It´s just annoying to see clueless people crying about it and influence clueless devs with their opinion.
Indeed in a perfect world we would see less ai, but it would also hurt many builds that don´t benefit from might stacking or burn spam on a competitive level.

I don´t understand why you struggle with that bird. As a homepoint defender im tanky enough to deal with it, as a roamer im fast enough to kite it. As warrior i get free condi removal cause i always land earthshaker on atleast 1 target when dueling and anyone running pirate runes sacrifices alot in teamfights. The real problem is, that in some cases the AI is higher than the player intelligence.
There is no skill in a gamble if your teammates/teamcomp sucks or if you are 4/5 or not.
My rating gets determined by others people that get picked randomly, not the best idea.

birds are useles in teamfights, birds can be kited/killed + you give up the benefits of other runes. The damage that comes from strength / balthazar is just less visible so people don´t complain. Classes that are not supposed to fight on a point (parrot range) are crying about a bird, while they enjoy their higher dmg output in teamfights AND 1v1. Some supportive classes don´t have strong weapon attacks, so it helps them to round their build up in 1v1´s. The balance should be done around conquest and not 1v1 server. I don´t see any problem with the bird, they should rather adjust other useles runes to be a viable choice aswell. (for classes that dont stack might or spam burn)

especially the 0.3 seconds on eviscerate animation (0,2 reaction time + latency) so easy to dodge. Earth shaker is way slower animation tho.
But the bird doesnt do anything in teamfight. And it´s also not nice if other builds hit much harder because of might stack or air/fire synergy, it just looks different.
everywhere? I only know 1-2 builds that even use this rune in competitive pvp and it´s nice that it´s possible to tweak builds around 1v1 if you are a far agressor / home defender or whatever.

while you weren´t playing your rating decayed so you dropped in ranks. Now that you are back the 1 game canceled your decay and it looks like a big jump on the leaderboard.
Here’s what I don’t get about tournaments:-
The most skilful teams/players will always win the tournament, come 2nd, 3rd etc…
So any tournament offering decent prizes, like legendary weapons, precursors is going to be generally won by the same group of players over and over again.
This ‘pool’ will consist of the same lets say 50 – 80 players. Who perhaps represent 0.001% of all players who play GW2.
So what’s in it for the other 99.999% of GW2 players?
AFAIK…nothing. So why push tournaments so much?
Interesting point of view, but it should also be an incentive for more teams to practise and increase competition. Unfortunately a 1 time tournament won´t make many people stick together as a team. We need some reward for a constantly ongoing competition like leaderboards with rewards so good that everybody wants to be in the top 100 for example.

I think the spirits are interrupting themselves when they start moving while casting a skill, all they have to do is change the skill from a channeled skill that requires to stand still to a kind of skill that can also be casted while moving. That maybe could be a solution, but I´m not 100% sure what really causes this issue.

ofc other classes go deep into their defense/utiliy traitlines too while their damage is carried by runes/sigils aswell, that´s how the game works if sigils/runes are stronger than traits.
Best example is the ranger class, from meta to almost not represented cause they can´t stack might to make use of op runes , nor can they spam weapon swap to benefit from op swap sigil, nor do they have enough critchance/power to benefit from air/fire sigils cause their mandatory traitline and weapons are build around conditions. There is nothing wrong with ranger, except that they don´t have synergy with any overpowered rune/sigil which define the meta.
