Ai builds shouldn´t have any place in pvp. Even tho this build is too passive to be strong on a competitive level, it is just too rewarding and too strong for the effort it takes to play it. No unexperienced player can outplay this build and even for veterans it is hard in some situations. This just encourages more and more people to pick up this playstyle.

0% package loss , 70 ms ping, people are porting around, attunements change after 2 or 3 seconds …
So my Ping is between 40 and 60 for the last hour , yet I have a general delay of 1 second and spike to 5 – 20 seconds like twice per minute.
I always thought the ping would display the delay I have in a game, seems like I am mistaken, so can anyone enlighten me?

Simply run a tracert to the servers through the VPN to see if your route has changed. If the problem is early on in your route however, chances are you will not be able to find any VPNs that will help, because you will always be going through that one bad hop.
Your only other option is to get a different ISP in hope that they’re on a different network. If you have a phone capable of accessing the internet that your computer can connect through, you could try that.
Thanks for your help, I changed ISP a month ago anyways, but telekom network is used by all ISP in germany i guess. Using a dutch VPN randomly solved it for yesterday, another day it might be a french one, but I don´t have time during a tournament to try out all connections if they are stable for like 15 minutes.

I know this topic is usually a case for support forum, but I already responded to the lag thread like once per month, yet no solution. It is prime time now, 20:52 and my delay is between 5 and 15 seconds. Whereever I check my internet connection it is fine, no package loss, nice ping, nice down and upload.
I´m even trying to connect via vpns to avoid high traffic routes randomly.
I suffer from this issue every tournament that is held in the evening like esl monthlies , wts qualifier etc.
Where can I find help if im not able to solve this issue on my own?

I think 500-250 is still solid matchmaking. I´d have to post every 2nd game and even in tournaments this score is quite common on maps that can be controled. Forest is a bit different since the respawn time is too low for a map where you spawn that close to nodes, you just port people around after stomping so here the matches are really messy.

It is not about permanent lag, it is lag spikes for couple of minutes/hours mainly at prime time. I haven´t found a single competitive player who doesn´t suffer from connection issues.

It is by far the biggest and most popular thread, so shouldn´t it be the highest priority?
Over 4 month, 1000 replies and a couple of thrown tournaments, yet I cannot find any help?
I really want to stop speculating and get some information. If it is just too high traffic you can hold tournaments earlier for example, but this silence is barely acceptable.

Hello, for some unknown reason i wasn´t able to join ranked arena and then my chat stopped working. So I wanted to restart my game and it started downloading a 3gb patch.
My friends and teammates don´t have to download this and I am wondering what is going on. I have been logging in everyday since last official patch so what is this about?

This Issue occurs quite often and probably more likely during prime time around 8 pm (no prove), for me and my team mates aswell who live in England and Sweden.
Sometime we can completely solve this issue by using WTFast and chosing a Server from another Location. This Issue exsists since release of the game and it is mendatory to be fixed as long as you hold cash prize tournaments in this game. Suffered alot from this during last Monthly tournament and it´s a joke that random lags are a bigger thread of loosing than the actual competitors.
Hello, I am lagging and porting around unable to play properly with a ping of 35 ms.
At the same time my teammates don´t suffer from this issue.
How can this be possible?
EU (at prime time) – huge lag spikes and DCs, while my connection is perfect everywhere else

That´s why all tournaments should be held before prime time unless servers are fixed.

moving alone fixes it, but sometimes you are immobed, stunned or it just takes a second until you realize whats going on.
I get this a fair amount. I’ll press a skill and it will show that it has been pressed by flashing but it will not execute. It is all due to lag or poor connection spikes
No, alsong as i stand still I won´t be able to execute any skill, no matter if its 5 seconds or a minute later. So it has nothing to do with lag, delay or anything.
no you do not have to pve, there is a PvP option top center of your screen while you are in the mists where you can choose your pvp amulet, traits sigils etc.
Noticed this bug around 4 month ago, happened a couple of times today.
Never got any attention on bug report forum and since it affects PvP too, I post it here.
So I can press any ability and it won´t work until I start moving again, happens after dodgerolls, burning speed, leaps and on any class. I can switch attunements, but skillbars will only show that I press the buttong without executing the action.
Can´t figure out what exactly is causing this.
Concerned this bug occurs in a tournament and my action won´t be registered .
So, I knew this leaderboard would be that bad the moment it got anounced, but I gave it a fair chance and didn´t judge early.
The current leaderboard is a farmboard and does not represent actual skill. Best prove is that the results from go4cup and leaderboard ranking distinguish by an insane amount.
The reward system is still non exsistant and the matchmaking is just super bad. Before the patch we knew we would face 55hp monks, asdf or any other top team after 8-10 minutes in the evening so we could actual practise, nowadays it´s only pug groups and solo qers.
So there is no point for joining as a team, since there is no challenge. On the other hand my solo q experience is super bad aswell, since I get matched against the same premade multiple times in a row, being farmed 500 -50 because my team consists of bad players who die to chiaftain/svanir.
I cannot imagine how to kitten up harder and I don´t believe promoting pug q´s are the way to go.

Ways to improve the leaderboard and matchmaking are actuall rewards, give it some meaning, like qualifying for an important tournament to attract teams and get competition going, legendaries, etc. Remove the point system, it is not hard to maintain a positive winratio with premade vs randoms and just farm the crap out of it. Wins vs low mmr players shouldnt reward you with rating, the only way you will see a leaderboard sorted by player skill was the way it was before, where you had to defend your rank vs other top teams because it wasn´t possible to gain a decent amount of rating vs lower mmr palyers. Then you need to implement seasons so people actually have to play and can´t sit on their rank forever.
To adress people with low amount of games on high rating you have to force a minium amount of games. A good example is the WoW ladder, where you can farm games until 1500 rating points, then you will have an accurate mmr and get truely punished for losses beyond that rating.

Depends on your team comp, if your team is very glassy they need you as bunker in a teamfight to stand on the node and play for 2 nodes. This way you can decap your enemies and your glasscanons can win teamfights after a decap, cause you can be 5v4 in the teamfight after a decap when your enemy backcaps.
If your team is very sustained / slow and got many melees you want to force fights on 3 nodes cause you wont be able to decap alot and you wont win fights quickly, then it is important to not give a freecap to your oponents and keep it neutral.

Mentioned the suggested might change months ago, aswell as a cut for air/fire sigil, so focusing together becomes more important and the ranger class can catch up.
If anyone top player would take the leaderboard serious it would be a huge +1 point farm and you´d have to play as much as possible in the current system.
Unfortunately I don´t see any reward that would encourage us to play in this ladder system.
It is true that the old leaderboard was probably more representative for player skill since it wasn´t based on farming.
So now i had this bug while i was stunned and i could not use Shadow return and died.
This has to be fixed. The advice to just move doesnt work when immobilized or stunned.
It happens on any class, last time i noticed it it was just after jumping.

Dire would be very viable for all condition classes. Sinister seems to be a good choice for celestial builds that want to give up all their defense.

Necro and ranger see little use in PvP teams because they are very situational choices.
Arenanet entitled necro as attrition class, yet it lacks sustain healing and can´t stay alive in longer fights which is the main reason it doesn´t see much play in a meta with lots of teamfighting. Necro really shines when you outnumber your opponents, like a very slow, but less squishy thief.
Ranger doesn´t have a role currently in the conquest gamemode. That does not mean that the class is weak itself. It has a very high 1v1 potential for example, but it is just not very useful in conquest.
Also as a new player you are probably not part of a very competitive Team, therefore you should just play whatever class you enjoy in order to get familiar the the game mechanics. The differences in viability are not that major to be worried about the class in your position.
This post makes no sense, because no one one is saying that Engineers are OP at the game.
We are just saying that Engineers are too good at bunkering a point at Conquest (currently).
You suggest introducing new game modes. That is much much less likely than a nerf to turrets.

No top team is using engi to stand on a point because it is not tanky enough to do it for a longer amount of time. Turrets are almost useles vs coordinated teams.
Engi is in a good spot in tpvp, but it is not used as a bunker or turret engi by any top team. It is just new players complaining cause their skill level has not risen above the point where they become more useful than turrets.
Rubberband can be avoid by going out of the spawn before the game starts ( and it only happens @ private arena).
THen , fo the lag issue , i ve find on my side that since i subscribed to optical fiber , i had way less problems.I still have some server spike lags or some disconnect , but its very unusual when it was daily when i had my classic dsl net.
I am not talking about the rubberband at the start of the game. You would understand what I mean if you watch the vods.

Hello everyone, I am here to speak about the insane amounts of lags in tournaments that especially affects german players.
Last Go4 cup we had to replace Lypion in the finals due to his lag. I took over his place but it wasn´t much better :

Made in Meta had similar issues and it has to be adressed. I´m not sure what is causing this issue, but it might be the fact that the majority of Eu players are german and have to share the same connection towards anets servers. Also the lag got worse the later we played, probably because more people logged in.

Although you can’t deny that a WELL-PLAYED necro is an absolute monster in conquest. I think that is the problem with many in EU…
Teamfights in Eu meta last too long so necros die to their lack of sustain, but it might change when teams run other comps.

A warrior eviscerated me, I ported out of the animation with shadowstep and died 30 meters away to a 7k crit. 3 People tried to stomp me on the warriors eviscerate location while I rezzed myself 30 meters away and noone knew where i actually was.
So the fact I got hit by eviscerate even tho I haven´t been in his range anymore, is this an issue on my end or anets end?
I´d really like to know this in case I have to change/fix something.

we are not allowed to play because some teammembers are not 18 years old or don´t live in Eu region (for example Israel)
both teams have a lord, but it is an all inc mechanic since you will lose all your capture points. You only go all in when you are behind. In general it is too rewarding for a desperate comeback attempt and it should be defendable almost always IF your team is defending it unless you get killed. Currently you can kill it while ignoring 5 people defending + I´m not sure how Moa affects the stats of the Lord (Why can you even Moa a Lord)
My suggestion would be more defense for Lord the more teammates there are in the base. Disable announcements for door/lord attacks so map awarenes is more of a factor and you can steal it without people defending it.

The synergy between gs autoattack and air/fore sigil is broken, but in general i would always change sigils first before changing class mechanics.

Happened to me by going downstairs on temple, the stairs killed me … imagine this happens in one of the “big” tournament with 3 or 4 teams involved like wts.
Tested him for Cheese Mode few weeks ago when i looked for an ele.
Really good dps guardian tho. Would take him if it was a meta class.
