Look no Further. Northern Shiverpeaks is in need of as many people as we can get. We are often outnumbered and have learned to be more than competitive. Looking at our current score we are rank 20, and gaining 29 points against higher level servers. This is because we have the heart to go in and defy the odds. We have weekly meetings with guild representatives and are always willing to help each other out. Only time that any of our maps have Queues are on reset and then only 2. Feel free to whisper me in game if you are interested. I’d be happy to arrange a meeting with you and some of our more dedicated WvW guilds.
OK DH, you caught me with my pants down in NSP BL when you took Garri. I admit it, I blew it Props where props belong. You spread your people out very well and I didn’t even notice it until it had already happened. Beedrinker FAIL!
On other notes had some good small group fights, IOJ and DR groups played very well. Woke up this morning to see the IOJ Oceanic crew is cleaned up nicely. What I wouldn’t’ give to have a better Oceanic presence. Or WvW population for that matter. This is going to be a hell of a week and I’m looking forward to it!

Back in the DH/GoM/NSP matchup, a group of XOXO took our north camp and proceeded to build a treb to fire on the power orbs. I popped out of the doorway to citadel to say hi, but being alone, I couldn’t hope to take back the camp. A female norn (guard, I think?) walked over to me and started dancing. I moved away from the doorway and bowed to her, hoping to get a fight. She took off her pants and kept dancing. I bowed again. It was about this time that two of her thief friends jumped me from behind.

Well the 1 time anyone got into our garrison while I was there it was only just past the our outer gate… I came into NSP BL about that time and kicked everyone out of it. Then proceed to kick everyone out of every keep, tower, and camp. After that I called it a night and counted my loot bags. Maybe we just missed each other in passing?

The guys above put it into words, but the hearts of the players that have been fighting their tails off and raising our points the last 2 weeks should say a great deal. We fight, we die, we come back and fight some more.
Just seems hard to determine what servers are Low WvW vs, overall population. NSP has a High – Very High population, But we are lucky to have our own borderland, and EB Queued on reset. That’s the only night either maps has a Queue. I would bet those of us left have no interest in leaving the server either. We have pride in what we do accomplish despite the final score. (+37 points last I looked vs DH and SF)
If the Dev’s would post data sheets on WvW activity more often that might help guilds that are looking.
NSP’s Idea of a Zerg, 20ish people headed to the same tower. Except on reset, then we might actually get 40 people. There are far more small man guilds that will do solo or groups of 2-5 than I can name.
impossible to WvW right now kitten dragon bash taking our peeps away, can’t even hold our home towers against NSP all the while, the kiddies are screaming for their toy castle back…. oh and our BL is getting nuked.
Yea sorry about that. We were just goofing off and decided to PVdoor stuff while we Could. Found some good fights and a great 10-15 min fight in front of Redbriar. Wondered if you guys were going to finally put together enough people to wipe our “unskilled group”. Think the numbers were finally a little over 2:1 in your favor before we finally retreated back into the tower and wiped inside. Great battle!
Today, GoM siege’d ET’s Greenlake Tower in WvW, using the breakout event…we pushed them away and killed siegerazer took about 30 min-1 hour. Then after 5 or so minutes they had started another breakout which they eventually took Greenlake Tower. I think there should be a longer cool down limit than 30 min-1 hour to restart the breakout event, and maybe a even longer cool down for a server that is probably 3x larger than Eredon Terrace.
Try this:
Don’t kill Siegerazor. Last time I checked if your team doesn’t kill him he would just kitten at the door and couldn’t be restarted. Just make sure to tear down any siege he has left behind.
Server doing poorly? Better do your civic duty and defect….
Or you can keep fighting.

Plus it’s not like it even matters at the end of the week anyways, WvW is effectively casual now that they jumble up the matchups, so WvW is about having fun while you are in there, commanding pugs is a choice you make to allow others (not in your guild) to have fun. If you don’t want to rely on pugs dictating your fun, then go in with a core group of people who will allow/guarantee your fun.
This is well stated. As long as I can get a group of guildies, or friends like Anths here to go in and cause a little chaos, I’m going to have fun. Just hope these people don’t pack up and leave because they feel they are loosing.
One up and one down solves some problems but creates a bunch more. Including that it invalidates ratings entirely. It no longer takes into account quality of victory but simply uses the fact of victory to move a server out of the matchup they were previously in. The system we are using now creates varied matchups, which will allow us to get more accurate ratings. As those become more accurate we can dial down on the amount of variance we are introducing to have matchups that are varied, but less prone to large rating gaps between the servers. But, again, this is entirely based on server rating, which is the thing we have actually been calculating this entire time. Until that number is a more accurate reflection of server quality, we are going to keep mixing the matchups up.
I for one am loving the new system. My sever “NSP” has had a very poor WvW population while having a huge PvE population. Many of us do not desire to transfer, but simply to take the tough fights head on and do our best. With this we have grown as individuals, and as guilds. Now we are fighting severs with a much higher WvW population and at the end of the week we may still have the lowest score. But we are STILL gaining progress in ranking. This is because we choose to keep fighting.
I would love to get some transfers but doubt that will ever happen. So I just try to recruit new people and show them what an organized force can do. But to see our ranking scores go up like they have simply because we do be do better against severs that the system expects us to.
So In short, Thanks! Its fun to fight servers we probably wouldn’t have ever gotten to fight with the old system!

If you’re from NSP you’d probably know me for running the guild [HOES] & Commanding on WvW.
I’ve been on NSP for about 8 months and have had a blast there, however over the months I’ve realized the server was always being out manned and getting rolled on and i always wondered why the people sitting around in LA would never get on to help us and week after week we were losing to servers that i knew we truly had the potential to beat because over the reset and weekend we would always match them with numbers and outplay them with tactics, and be ahead with ppt. However throughout the weekdays we always lost that and that’s when i realized NSP honestly wasn’t a dedicated WvW server and everyone saying that it was a pve based server was right.
So for months, HOES were really beginning to get frustrated and was thinking about a move.
Darkhaven was our first pick out of them all, but recently seeing how they dominated NSP on WvW because of the huge numbers and organised tactics i decided i wouldn’t be such a d*ck and join them. (No disrespects towards DH)
So Borlis Pass was our next choice over with Calisto who also moved Lost’s WvW team. After seeing how organised BP were and putting deep thought in to the decision, we decided we’d move there and start our new guild [MM] Midnight Mafia inc.
I didn’t really want to leave NSP because it truly is my home as silly as it sounds and i love the server and many people in it, i hope some of you can understand and not hold grudges upon me like the whole Ronny/TCMM situation.
And for the people of Borlis Pass, i hope i can build some strong bonds with you all like i did over at NSP. And for NSP, i’ll always call you home <3.
Respect to these guilds who are still fighting for NSP:

Seriously GL to ya and hope you find what your looking for. NPS has had a rough time with guild leaving since its inception. Out manned or not, we just keep fighting and give the enemy our best. Just going to have to fight a little bit harder now.
You left too soon Cold Beer. DH zerg with 8 golems just wiped our borderland clean. They moved so quickly we didn’t see swords on garr or hills at all. We got to bay just in time to slow them down in the lords room.
Yes I finally had to go pass out. Was getting pretty late for me. (I’m getting to old to keep up) NOOB will be on the field more this week than it was last week. Not that we will be noticed at all
NSP: Doesn’t field impressive numbers overall, numerous times was outmanned in EB, however they’re not afraid to take their zerg to the opponents borderlands and claim ground there. Also is led by some small, but very organized guilds. I may not like the behavior of some of the XOXO members, but their skill has never been in doubt.

My observation of DH. Lots of number, lots of ressources, insane amount of players, well organised and zerg is good at sticking together. My only negative observation is that I haven’t seen DH take a tier 3 major tower without tons of golems the whole week.
that’s how your supposed to do it.. build 20 golems and overwhelm it. if you cant melt the gates.. its not worth doing.

I would love to see the living story come to the mists. But as a NSP guild leader, and Commander I’ve been trying to recruit people and scheduling specific day’s and times that we work as a guild in WvW. This has worked to some degree and improved my guilds overall presence in WvW.
To be honest though if we were going to get our PvE population into WvW they would need 2 things.
1: Monetary reward to WvW = PvE or greater. (probably would have to be greater)
2: Organized guilds/groups to work with. (pugs will easily leave if they feel overwhelmed)
I can sit in PVE, Gain gold hand over fist with little to no risk. I do not however gain any kind of profit in WvW. Yes the Majority of this is because I am a commander who will drop siege and pay for it out of my pocket. I do this because too many times Ive gotten to a tower and out of 30 pugs 0 of them have had a ram or catapult. (“They cost too much, your a commander your supposed to be rich”). Eventually I run out of coin and have to PVE to even try to help support my server.
Don’t pay for EVERY upgrade. Let other guilds pitch in and pick up the tab. Most Gold I ever spent on reset was back in November and it was 4g and EB at that. I’ll leave with at least 1G from flipping stuff, siege is bought via badges + JP + donations. I pimp out guildies for mats and siege all the time
Not that I do pay for every upgrade, But it seems there are only a hand full of guilds who will upgrade. We will have the occasionally pug who kindly goes around and starts a few, But its kinda rare. I find that a some of people I have spoken to have the “if it doesn’t benefit my pocket I’m not doing it…” mentality. I do not know how much of the population feels this way, but it seems like a good deal, on my server at least.
I’m a Commander for the NSP server. On a typical night I will spend 1-2 gold in siege, repairs, tower upgradeds and such. Only time I have ever made a profit in WvW is on the odd chance I get a rare or better drop I can sell on the TP. This happens once every week or 2. On reset I will spend up to 8 gold….. I do not lead a huge zerg, just usualy 10-15 players trying to flip camps and or towers in Borderlands
I often have to take a break from WvW just to save up enough gold to continue supporting my guild. They are good about donations, but not every player can spend 4-5 hours in game daily. Many are good to get in 2 on the weekdays and 2-4 on weekends. I don’t understand how people can make any money in WvW….
My favorite is when we are fighting for a tower / keep. Then just as we get close to capping the 3rd server runs in. 3rd server wins, tons of loot bags / laying on the ground, absolutely NO way to get them. Think of how many precursers have possibly despawned?
That specific tower is famous (or rather, infamous) for this. I’ve ported into that tower unintentionally using guardian sword 2 myself. It’s been like that for months now.
Ive been lucky enough that I haven’t seen anyone abuse it, but yea its been a known bug for a while that does need fixed.
But there is no better way to inspire your troops than by displaying your prowess in a true display of what WvW is all about: isolated 1v1 matchups in the open field!

Honestly though, if you want to have better luck on the chests, you need to put on your MF gear before you open them. I always equip my MF gear before opening any chests (BL, SS, etc) and every time I’ve done that, I get minis, skins, etc.
Magic Find only affects loot dropped by killing mobs, quote from the wiki:

So bad….. what was the point of any of this update? Stop wasting developer time and maybe do something we care about. At least if you are going to give us rewards, do it properly. I can farm a ring in a matter of days if I desire, 25 laurels is lol. Infusions are a waste, the oil skills are pointless, and wexp promotes zerging. Hoorah!

The only 2 things i’m looking foward to are optimization (never hurts..but will it be noticeable?) and chests for wxp, might be a nice way to get some stuff out of wvwing..
but prolly will just get a flood of pvers farming wxp for chests due to magic words “Chance of precursors”.
Which will mean more lag, more blob, more queques, less quality (on average).

Some servers NEED ways to get more players into WvW.
The victory at DR keep didn’t last 1/10th as long as the fight to take it did, but we had a great time! DR did not give up, and gave us a hell of a fight. I’m sure you guys racked up a ton of tokens from us! But the best part for me was being able to take this SS for my guild.

Oh, no. Which ones are leaving? You guys definitely seem to have less people around since we came back from our trip to T8. I’d hate to see ya lose more folks.
Again its just rumor, but Ive heard MoB was leaving, and one other guild I wasn’t familiar with. Ive also heard only about half of MoB was leaving so hoping they will reform and get stronger from it. Just too bad more NSP guilds can’t come together as a whole and work towards winning as a server. The individual strength in a lot of NSP players is very high, If only they would put that towards a server effort.

Dont know when singlemalt or blaze play… but when im on typically Os and phoenix battlion or both are leading a zerg into DR and I rarely see red in Gom… plus lotta DR folk got mad after we started a hard push on GOM Saturday I think it was and NSP lead a massive zerg into our BL flipping most of it.
I dont think its about securing second as much as … well people wanted to hit you back for that.
Oh and for the record I can count on 1 hand if you chop off 5 fingers the number of times Ive gone to NSP since this matchup began.
Night crew in EB usually fights GoM since they’re the only ones actually awake.
But as you probably know GoM’s bl is broken, I’ve tried playing on it a couple of times and its near impossible to command.
So when we have our map we can only funnel into two, EB and DR bl.

Yea GoM’s BL is unplayable. Leaves them able to hit EB very hard, and they have had great coverage day and night. I normally only get 2 hours on the weekdays if Im lucky, Weekends are better but I also have to PVE farm so I can afford siege. Not that I am complaining. Typically I have been in NSP BL reclaiming stuff, EB reclaiming stuff, and DR BL trying to flip camps and the occasional tower. I would have hit GoM this week but their BL lag / disconnects drove me nuts. Its been a rough match-up to watch from work. But It could be much worse.
